Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel by Maddie Wade and India Kells was a fast pace, heart pounding thriller that had me hooked from start to finish.

Not my first read by either author, and it may have been the reason I snatched this book up. Cause both authors on their own are pretty amazing, so there was no way I was passing up on this collaboration. I wasn’t disappointed and very much enjoyed this engaging thriller.

So lets be real, again I find myself wondering if I’m being biased or not. This has to do with Emma, and how young she is, not so much that is is a young woman, but that it’s brought up, a lot, way more then needs to be. And the whole innocent thing, that was another thing that irked me. She’s a grown asss woman, there’s nothing innocent about her. Especially considering she joined Fortis, they aren’t exactly saints. I believe I said this before, but unless you’re a child or an animal, you ain’t innocent.

Okay rant over.

Overall this book was pretty good. It was action packed, heart racing and steamy. What I liked the most was the hunt for the serial killer. It added that intense mystery to the very intense romance. But I will say, having Emma as the “baite” made for a bit of a predictable storyline. Especially with Shane still in recovery about his friends sisters death. So yeah, saw that coming, but because of was smooth, quick fire writing, I was kept engaged, my eyes were kept glued to the pages, and I was kept in the story. I want to stress this, that though yes, you’re going to guess the outcome pretty quick, but the writing is so good that you can’t look away. That and the characters are just a delight to read about. Not just the MC’s but all the characters.

This book is a must read if you’re a fan of these authors, even if you’re not, this story is worth your time. No worries if you think you’re going to get lost, it’s kind of a side story so you can read it like a standalone. That and you’re given enough info that it feels like this is a start of a series, not a one off. Believe me when I say, you are going to be glued to this book. It has this “Criminal Minds/John Wick” feel that just keeps you captured.

So please, take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will get lots in these dangerous pages.

Happy Reading
