I do love a good Later-in-Life book, especially a romantic suspense one. As a woman in her own Later-in Life era it is so refreshing to be able to relate to the characters. Midnight Deception did not disappoint. So well written that you easily fall in love with the characters and luckily this is book one so more to come is a huge plus. Fast paced and full of all the good stuff, lies, suspense, secrets, tension and throw in some danger, it’s a little sexy and dark. Like I said it just has all the right stuff. Definitely don’t miss out on this one.

Midnight Deception: Later-in-Life Romantic Suspense (Lone Wolf Heroes Series) by India Kells. This is a great romantic suspense. It’s the story of Sabrina who is a secretary to Brent by day and works at a nightclub by night. Brent is a hardcore boss who is a millionaire but he is a Cold hearted man. Sabrina tries hard to keep her day and night jobs separate along with taking care of her son and her mom. When her son gets into debt with some really bad guys then the chance of keeping her two lives separate is going to be near impossible. The bad guys end up coming after her and her family and Brent ends up being weirdly protective. Seeing him want to keep her safe pulls at Sabrina’s heartstrings and she begins to wonder about their relationship. Will Brent be able to keep her and her family safe? Will Sabrina and Brent finally realize they have feelings for one another. Such a fun romantic suspense.
Sabrina is a secretary to Brent Fraser by day and nightclub worker at night. She works hard to keep her day and night personas separate as she juggles her work responsibilities while also taking care of her son and mother. However, when her son’s gambling debt triggers a series of events that threatens her day job and exposing her double life…she finds herself relying on her boss with her safety and her identity. While feelings are growing and lies are unraveling, can Sabrina trust Brent to keep her (and her family) safe? I enjoyed Sabrina’s character so much. She is older than most MCs in the book I read, so that was a breath of fresh air. Watching her switch between her personas (while trying to keep each of them separate) created tension that could be felt coming off the pages. The protective streak that emerged from Brent’s character kept the story entertaining. Overall, I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading what comes next.
As a ‘middle age’ female, I love romantic comedy’s, but usually they are about super young, slightly childish, free woman. It was really refreshing to read something closer to my age. Sabrina is supporting both her mother and son, and has totally changed herself by day to fit into a role required by the job, offered by Brent, that allowed her to do all that. Although once night falls she becomes someone else totally at a nightclub. India is a wonderful, reliable author, and she knows how to write an intriguing, steamy, fast paced, romance full of suspense. I really enjoyed Midnight Deception and I am looking forward to book 2.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I enjoyed reading this book and it just might be my favorite yet. I enjoy this author’s creativity of characters and plots that are nonstop. This book is no different. It is a well written story that is full of suspense, secrets, and romance. A story where you question who to trust and a secret that could tear things apart. I enjoyed how I was pulled into the story from the start. The characters are engaging, connectable and add so much life to the story. This is a fast paced story that I enjoyed watching the growth of. This is a hard to put down story that has some twists and turns that you don’t want to miss. This is the first book in the series and I look forward to picking up the next book in the future. I enjoyed reading this book which I highly recommend.
Finally, a book with a grown adult woman! So refreshing! Midnight Deception follows the story of Sabrina Henry, unassuming Executive Secretary to billionaire CEO Brent Fraser by day, and MC of The Gilded Lily nightclub by night. When Brent’s former colleague turned nemisis tries to bring down Brent’s company, he and Sabrina work together to unravel the villain’s plot before it destroys everything Brent Fraser has built.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I loved that our FMC was in her 40s instead of a barely-adult who has somehow developed the emotional intelligence of a 35 year old. There was a little, realistic spice. Nothing over the top. Definitely a good place to start if you just want to dip your toes into sexy scenes. The writing was good, if not a bit repetetive. There are only so many times we can read about the storm brewing in a man’s eyes before we suggest medical attention, right? We get it. He’s full of unresolved emotional trauma. Perhaps some therapy for Mr. Fraser. But that dark and brooding attitude is a little sexy, so it’s fine.
I would have liked a bit more development in Brent’s backstory, and more of the double life of Sabrina at the Guilded Lily, because the plot rushed by pretty quickly. Another 50 pages, and I think this had the potential to be a 5 star read for me.

Love. Love. Love. The author put together a fast-paced engrossing story with wonderful characters. I couldn’t put this one down and devoured it in just a couple of sittings. The writing is seamless and the author really builds up the story on the foundation of amazingly written characters. The main character, Sabrina, is just great. Her character development and personality largely made the story for me—there are many qualities of her that are relatable for adult female readers. She has a couple of alternate personas she takes on in the story, first the seductive emcee Nightshade, as well as a dull secretary. When she finds herself in the midst of danger both personally and at work, she and her boss, Brent, are caught in the middle…. with feelings brewing and hidden identities, this story just delivers! Can’t wait for the next one!

This was a great 5 star read. I really liked Sabrina, she is a strong woman and was a great character. She works as Brent Fraser’s secretary and works at a nightclub. With a twist, Sabrina and Brent end up working together to bring down his former colleague. As these two start to spend more time together, feelings start to ignite. Both of them have some history that they are trying to overcome. Overall I enjoyed this read. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I look forward to reading more from this author and series. 1-click and get started today.
5 Stars India is one of my go to authors so clicking to get this book was a forgone conclusion. I love that more authors are embracing slightly older characters. Midnight Deception is a complex and seductive read and packs a punch. I loved this original and unique story. What a page turner it turned out to be not that I was surprised not with India at the helm. It is well written, a little dark, sexy, and a touch of emotional read. India has done such a fantastic job weaving a multi layered tangled web this story that you could literally feel the emotions jumping off the page. With secrets, lies, danger, suspense and tension this story and the characters makes for one captivating journey. It is one of those stories that I didn’t want to be over, as I fell in love with these characters. Sabrina is in danger of her nightly persona coming to light. Unfortunately, it appears that she is now front and centre in a game of cat and mouse. Follow along as she sheds her layers like Superman and becomes the mysterious and sexy Nightshade. This is a must read.
Sabrina Henry has mastered the art of invisibility. By day, she hides behind dowdy spectacles and drab clothes, seamlessly executing her role as the indispensable assistant to Brent Fraser, a billionaire CEO with a reputation as cold as he is brilliant. But beneath this plain facade lies a secret: by night, Sabrina transforms into Nightshade, the mesmerizing emcee at The Gilded Lily, an exclusive burlesque club.
When Sabrina’s son, Corey, unknowingly plunges them into peril by borrowing money from a lethal loan shark, her two worlds threaten to collide. As her son’s debt triggers a series of dangerous events, Sabrina finds herself teetering on the edge of exposure and harm.
With Brent unaware of her double life yet inexplicably drawn to the capable yet elusive Sabrina, tensions rise. As they navigate workplace challenges and sinister threats, Sabrina’s carefully balanced secrets begin to unravel. She must rely on her own strength and Brent’s unexpected protective streak to navigate a deadly cat-and-mouse game against Hans Bird and uncover a tapestry of deception that runs deadly deep.
In a world where every move is a gamble, and every glance could reveal the truth, Sabrina faces a heart-wrenching decision: can she trust Brent with her secrets to save her family, and will he discover her true identity before it’s too late? Or will their burgeoning love be extinguished by the very shadows they’re trying to escape?
Dive into Midnight Deception, where love, lies, and suspense intertwine in a gripping dance that will leave you breathless.

This series is one of my recent favorites! I read the last 3 books in the series first and told myself I need to read the first 3 books so I can learn more about the other brothers. I was very excited to find out the 6 books came in a box set! The stories are easy to read, as you read them you’ll connect with the characters, danger and intriguing moments keep you interested, and along the way love blossoms for each of the very sexy sons.
Each book is about one of the many bastard sons of Jamieson Finch, a ruthless evil father, who left his sons and their mothers to fend for themselves. Along the way, each son finds their true love and the couples become a close knit family as the brothers work together to bring their father down and prove how a family can work together for the greater good.
Book 1: Lost Bastard is about Aleksei and Deva Book 2: Cold Bastard is about Archer and Zoe Book 3: Wild Bastard is about Kai and Isabel Book 4: True Bastard is about Liam and Catriona Book 5: Dark Bastard is about Sam and Ellie Book 6: King Bastard is about Lazareth and Sasha

WOW. Where do I start with these wonderful brothers?? This box set blew me away. As I had not read anything from India Kells before, I had my reservations committing to the entire set. Those qualms were blown away mere pages into the first book. The author has such a way of grabbing your attention and writing the stories so well that they just envelop you. I love each of these boys for slightly different reasons, but they all have such strong qualities that you just root for automatically. My favorites are probably a tie between Aleksei and Archer, the Lost Bastard and the Cold Bastard, respectively. Though these brothers will all do whatever it takes to protect the ones they love, this box set is full of strong women as well. This series is fast-paced and suspenseful with plenty of steamy scenes that you can’t get enough of!

Am I ever glad that I thought to pick this set up! I had read a couple of novels by this author before this set, and thought, how could I possibly let this one slide through my fingers. So many deliciously strong, masculine alpha men and women within these pages, and so little time. I spent the duration of my sick week immersed within these pages, and I couldn’t tell if it was the cold that had my body warming up, or the incredibly written adventures, but by my drool soaked pillow, I think you can guess!
I was hoping that I would have one specific installment within this box set to focus on, to tell you it’s my favorite, but as per what I’ve come to expect from this author, they only keep getting better and better, though I certainly have a soft spot for the Aleksei, and Deva! Do yourself a favor, and carve out some time for these novels, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend all literature by her!

I have enjoyed every single page of this entire box set – even the dark ones that explained some of the horror the evil antagonist spread around the world. Dark Sparrows are the code name of a group of women that have been saved from horrifying circumstances and vowed to repay the favor if their assorted areas of expertise should ever be needed. Headed by Purgatory, an extremely specialized team in rescue operations, the Dark Sparrows never know if they’ll be called upon. Each of them receives their own call from Beatrice and Gabrielle (the Purgatory leader and 2nd in command) in this series. Each of them ends up assigned to their own brother of bastards, all for their own reasons. These bastards, as they affectionately call themselves, prefer to be seen that way than admit the evil monster that is Jamieson Finch is really their father. Brought together by the brother that was intended to be his heir, Lazarus King, each book focuses on it’s own bastard brother and his own journey to bring down the devil, and the ways he interrupts their plans. EACH OF THESE BOOKS DESERVES A TRIGGER WARNING FOR ASSORTED REASONS, PLEASE READ WITH CARE.
LOST BASTARD Aleksei Voronov is the first son we read about. Aleksei is a brother from Russia who was orphaned and brought up on the streets. He is strong, hard, and never backs down from a fight – just what Finch wanted.
Deva Landry is a former MC princess that fled before she could be forced into a marriage she didn’t want by a father who was head of his club, and as brutal as you can imagine he could be. She upended her comfortable life as a physical therapist for veterans to repay her favor by acting as a therapist in a Chicago fighters gym and help protect Aleksei. She knows the odds of being rediscovered by her father in her hometown, but owes Gabrielle this favor and a finds the fight of her life, for her life, for the new man she can’t seem to keep herself away from.
COLD BASTARD Archer Blackwood, leader of a business empire, is from London and expanding to Chicago. To help with the expansion, he needs an incredible interpreter to keep up with the languages and dialects of the buyers he deals with from around the world.
This is where Zoe enters. Gabrielle and Lazarus place Zoe within the ranks at the office in downtown Chicago to help keep an eye on Archer. As usual, Finch finds her secrets and uses them against her, even as she and Archer investigate the draw they feel towards one another.
WILD BASTARD Kai Jones left his carefree surfer persona behind him, he thought with the memories of a very special woman he met on the beach before he joined the Army and later Delta Force. Though still a fan of loud hawaiian shirts and long hair, Kai is a seasoned and deadly soldier. He is the first son that Finch has not yet claimed. Will he be able to keep his focus on Finch when his past comes calling?
Isabel met Kai by coincidence 15 years ago on the beach in Hawaii, but has never forgotten the 2 weeks they shared together. In the years since, she has become an avid and successful businesswoman with an assortment of ways she earns revenue. She is best friends with Gabrielle, but they originally met when she was in the middle of her own crisis. Gabrielle knows she is precisely who Kai needs to help lead him through the next stage of attacking Finch to bring him down. Her biggest fear is that Kai will learn the real reason she deserted him all those years ago.
TRUE BASTARD Liam Harker is an Irish detective in Chicago, and brother number 4. The other brother Finch has not yet acknowledged, he has fought to be a good man who helps others. His mother was forced by Finch and her faith was too strong to get an abortion for a child she didn’t want and didn’t love. When he meets the Dark Sparrow Gabrielle assigned him, he felt like life was playing a cruel joke on him.
Catriona Walsh is a novitiate with a knack for numbers. An orphan, she was raised surrounded by love and faith and light, and exudes her goodness from her pores. She sees people, helps people, trusts people, and gives them second chances. When she starts running the numbers, she finds questionable information and joins the adventure the brothers have had so far. Will her bright serenity soothe Liam’s soul?
DARK BASTARD Sam Sarkhan grew up in the desert with his mother, a Bedouin princess. It was a simple life, but he was happy and loved. Until Finch discovered him and took him away. An unbearably hard past has made him a serious and heartbroken man, but his brothers have given him family and a sense of comraderie, and helped him aim towards bringing the infection of their father down. Sam is willing to lay his life down for all of them, but is unable to keep going anymore. Until a voice of desperation on the other end of a wrong number pulls at something in him.
Ellie is an emergency call center operator, and it is taking everything she has to keep going as the holidays bring an upswing in desperate calls and suicides. She doesn’t know why she answered the phone on New Years Eve from a number she didn’t recognize – but it seems fate knows what it’s doing. Sam is drawn to keeping an eye on Ellie – one last mission before he checks out. Things happen very fast after he “meets” Ellie but the connection they have and the way they make each other feel alive again draws them out of the dark. Will they be able to take down Finch while saving each other?
KING BASTARD Lazarus. The last brother. The ringleader of the bastards. The heir apparent to Finch and the one who started the goal of taking him down. Lazarus has a weakness for family and gathered his brothers and called in the help of Purgatory to help protect them. After avoiding death, he only wants to finish the job and stop having to watch his brothers enter dangerous games with their father. All he wants is to have this over after putting a bullet in Jamiesons head and he is not interested in distractions.
Sasha has been around since book 1, as Deva’s cousin and a battlefield doctor. She is incredibly tough in her own right, and stands toe to toe with Lazarus from the beginning. They continue to circle and show the ways they care about one another, and she helped save Oz’s life after he was shot. While awaiting more missions overseas to help victims in war torn areas, she joins the group in Chicago to find herself ending up in the sights of Finch. Will she be able to withstand him? Will Oz be able to withstand her? Will all the brothers end up finding something worth living for after their goal is accomplished? Book 6 is explosive and an amazing conclusion to this incredible series.

If I could give a series more than 5 stars it would be this one. I’m so glad I started with the set because once I got started I couldn’t put it down!
Every story follows one of the Dark Brothers finding their true love. There is some dark themes , suprising match ups (think … NUN!), intense chemistry, opposites attract and then a finale that will answer the questions I had to know about finally defeating their father or “donor”.
Dark Romance , spice, intrigue , Action… this one has it all and you don’t want to miss it!!!

This series is amazing! It has it’s ups and downs and some really dark themes running throughout but if you sit down and read them you will get sucked in. Dark Sparrows Boxset is full of romance and suspense, and though you could read each book individually they are so much better in succession. I say that because I’ve read King Bastard before, and I swore at that time I would go back and read books 1-5 then re-read book 6. Well that’s exactly what this boxset allowed me to do. I re-fell in love with the main characters of book 6 as well as everyone else. The events set into motion by none other than Lazarus King, he’s made it his life’s mission to bring down his estranged father, Jamieson Finch. Along the way he’s learned that he isn’t Jamieson’s only bastard son and these books are what brings them together for a common cause. Book 1 Lost Bastard puts into the Chicago underground. Which means there’s quite a bit of suspense that’s going to be throughout. Aleksei, a potential Russian Bratva operative, gets pulled into illegal fighting by his estranged father. It’s at that point he meets Deva. Deva, a MC princess, has been in hiding after escaping the Chicago underground. When she’s called upon by Beatrice, as one of her Dark Sparrows to assist Lazarus King in uniting his brother’s and keeping them safe from Finch. Book 2 Cold Bastard brings Archer Blackwood to the spotlight. Despite learning in book 1 Lazarus has already been in contact with other brothers Archer has no idea about the relations or his father is and how close he’s circling. Is it your typical Billionaire Romance? Of course not because all these books are tied together. Little did Archer know Zoe was going to change his life. Zoe is the next Dark Sparrow tasked into action because of her penchant for solving puzzles as well as being multilingual. Unfortunately there’s a slight twist in this book that they don’t see coming, proving Finch is currently a few steps ahead of them. Book 3, Welcome to the Kai Jones lighthearted adventure, or is it? In Wild Bastard, Kai gets brought to his knees by the one who got away. Kai, being the most lighthearted and laid back of Finch’s six bastard sons, doesn’t see his Dark Sparrow coming. Despite everything going on knowing that fact and the dark undertones it’s probably the lightest book in the set in my opinion. Isabel never thought she’d see Kai again after she disappeared on him 15 years earlier in Hawaii. With secrets that are buried deep she never realized her feelings towards him would come back full force. Being the PR guru she is, she’s tasked to become the specialist Finch hirers to help launch his mayoral campaign. Will it be successful? Will the brother’s finally get what they want? It was also a breath of fresh air to see Deva and Aleksei back in this book, since they were absent from book 2. Book 4 True Bastard, gives the reader a lot of inner turmoil storylines. Liam is a cop, which doesn’t necessarily mess well with his brother’s who float in the illegal underground of Chicago to get things done. At the same time he wants nothing more to be part of the cause to take Finch down. Anything he can and will do to help Lazarus and his other brothers he will do. Unfortunately with Archer taking the reins because of Lazarus being in a coma things are starting to slip. Does that make it the perfect time for Finch to slide in and destroy his sons? It walks Catriona, a numbers expert, that Dark Sparrow calls to help shut down Finch’s finances. Catriona is on the road to becoming a nun, but after meeting Liam she’s struggling with the road she wants to travel. Though not as light as book 3 this is probably the only other light book in this series. Book 5 Dark Bastard in my opinion is the darkest. Extremely dark storylines that I feel a reader should know could be a trigger warning, so just use caution going in. Sam has been living in a dark cloud since childhood. Ready to end it all until one misdialed phone call changes everything. Finch knows exactly who Sam is, he took him away from his mother and broke him as a child. Forever damaging his psyche. Ellie was ready to end it all, till New Year’s Eve and a mysterious caller stopped those plans in their tracks. Now being held hostage with Sam, the caller, by his psycho father they need to do everything they can to bid their time and get out. These two beautifully fight light and dark throughout this whole book. Book 6, King Bastard is still my favorite book in the series, however closely followed by Cold Bastard. Finally making it to Lazarus King, the man who set this all in motion. Now it’s time for the epic conclusion, but not without him being brought to his knees as well. Ever since waking up from his coma, he feels like he’s putting his brother’s in too much danger, especially since they’ve all found women they love. He pulls back from everyone, till Sasha shows him there’s another way. Sasha, the resident bastard’s doctor when needed, hates being told what to do. And Lazarus being the prime suspect of doing such things, the man drives her crazy. Yet since she cared for him during his coma, she’s started to see him in a new light. The passion between them is undeniable. Do they succeed? Does Finch finally get what’s coming for him? What happens between brothers? This is a well written series and again I will say I love it. The author wrote characters that are easy to fall in love with. Such wonderful themes and so much suspense, romance, and love throughout. So worth it!!!

What a series! This is a must get dark romance box set about bold brothers finding love. Suspense, intrigue, action, romance and steam. The books can be read individually, however I would recommend reading from the start as they do all interlink with each other. The author has done a brilliant job in each book building each character with depth and individuality. Happy reading!!

Get the boxset…don’t even consider getting 1 just to see if you’ll like it…you will. These books are addictive and engaging and fast-paced and seductive and so much more. I absolutely love the way India Kells creates and develops her characters and how each character is an imperfect match for the other. The amount of push and pull between the Brothers and each of their Sparrows is riveting and each book has just the right amount of spice. I positively love the way Kells weaves each of the Brothers and their Sparrows stories together to build on each story as we progress in the box set. We still get to see characters that were the focal points of other stories while not losing sight of the main characters in this story. India Kells is quickly becoming one of my favorite, go-to authors. I will definitely be reading all of her stuff!

This box set is a must read. I loved each of the brothers and the women they fell for. These women came into their lives at a time they needed them the most; they just didn’t know it. Each of them have a dark side but they are good men who love fiercely. The author did an exceptional job pulling me into each story and tying them all together. Each book has danger, action, romance, and so much more. As soon as you finish a book you will want to dive right into the next one. I needed to know if they were going to be able to stop their evil father. I highly recommend these books, you don’t want to miss out on this series.

This is a 6 out of 5 stars for me!! I didn’t want this book series to end but WOW what a perfect ending! This band of brothers has been battling their father this entire time but none as fervently as the oldest son. Until the love of his life bursts into his life! While shie is very strong & capable, she has a wonderful capacity to understand & trust him. That is IF he lets her!! I highly, highly suggest reading the previous books before this page-turner. I will definitely follow Kells for her future masterpieces!

Trigger warnings:frequent mentions of childhood sexual abuse & ending their own life thoughts/urges
All of Kells’ book are fast-pasted & explosive, but this is the first one that made me cry. Two lost souls, on the brink of giving up, meet by pure chance. With their brand of misery, they become each other’s light. Can two broken souls piece each other back together? You finally get a peak into the last book and it needs to get here NOW!!

I am officially a Kells fan! It was so wonderful to see all the boys join forces! The main heroine this time, however, is so unique! She has strong responsibilities that keep her away from our strong, wounded cop, but all she does is ignite his protective instincts! And the epilogue?! I just can’t wait for the next one!

This book does not disappoint as third installment of this series! Just as action-packed as the first two, the emotional suspense just pulls at your heart strings! Both hiding their pasts, the main couple cannot deny their once-lost connection! Can their relationship survive their secrets being revealed? And the brothers from her other books making an appearance was just the icing on the cake!

Cold Bastard is such a whirlwind!! I am a sucker for the classic cold, stern, control-freak male lead whose entire routine-only life gets totally disrupted by the leading lady! Curves & glasses tempt him too far. And he doesn’t even know how much she will corrupt! You HAVE to read this one!

Lost Bastard had me a little nervous to start because I am not a huge organized crime fan. It swept me off my feet! The female lead is so powerful in her own right! And a witty alpha male is always swoon-worthy. Wrap that all up in an action-packed page turner and watch the sparks fly!

This is one sexy, sinful box set that keeps you coming back for more. Each book in this set is a different storyline to follow, all the sexy alpha’s who have forged their own path in life and the women that have turned them inside out. I absolutely loved how each of these strong burly men found something in a woman that was so completely opposite of what they are. There is really something about opposites attracting and this author does an amazing job integrating that into her plots. I have made it through each of these books and the only thing I can say is that you need to read them for yourselves. It is so easy for me to regale you with things that happen in each of these books but experiencing them yourselves will allow you to travel on this journey as we find out just what it takes to bring these “bastards” to their knees. If you like romance novels with mystery, intrigue, and combativeness this is the series for you. I could not stop reading these books and you may need a cold shower after following their escapades.

This box set was very interesting to read. I loved the overall story and was eager to read the next book in the series, so I was glad they came in a box set! To follow each brother as they fall in love was truly a wild ride! The plot kept me hooked from the first page in book one, to the last page in the series. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes strong alpha males, and even fiercer alpha females.

Absolutely best series/box set ever! The series includes 6 books, starting with Lost Bastard, then follows Cold Bastard, Wild Bastard, True Bastard, Dark Bastard, and King Bastard. I highly recommend this box set. What is better than getting all of the books in one set? The books are romantic, steamy, and action-packed drama. Each character went through their own trials, but the family always sticks together to fight their evil father.
Book 1 This book was a serious page turner, and constant mystery of “what will happen next?”. The book is based off the mob/mafia underworld and the twists and turns are bountiful. The character building is amazing and it’s very easy to get attached to each character. Literally no one can be trusted. Deva is on the run from her father because she was sold off to the underworld. She has now started a new life as a physical therapist, that is until a favor is needed to be collected upon by the woman who rescued her. Beatrice runs a “company” called Purgatory and she refers to her agents as “Dark Sparrows”. She has called upon them to help out a friend, Lazarus King, to help find and protect his “bastard” brothers his evil father has “sired”. Deva is definitely an amazing badass woman, but everyone has that something to make them tick. First of the brothers to be found is Alexksei, who ends up being Deva’s weakness. A brilliant first book to an amazing series.
Book 2 The second book was filled with steamy romance and action. Zoe is such a strong and independent woman; she is also an excellent translator. She comes to work for a man named Archer as a “Dark Sparrow” and the intensity is insane between them. The “evil father” Finch is more active in the background in book 2 than he was in book 1. This book is a little on the darker side of romance. Has lots of unexpected events.
Book 3 This book is all about second chances with Kai and Izzy. There are an immense number of secrets between the two of them, which slowly drives them apart. Again, the book had a good mix of romance, action, drama and danger. Kai is a strong alpha and Izzy is his weakness, and after bringing him to his knees, he vows to never let anyone, or anything affect him that way again. Izzy is the owner of a PR firm. She is approached by Jamison Finch (the evil father) to help him, but she does not know if it is a good idea to work with him or not.
Book 4 “True Bastard” is between Liam and Catriona. Liam is headstrong and determined to be absolutely nothing like his father. He will do anything for Catriona even though his mind pulls him to do something different. Catriona has a heart of gold, and brings happiness to everyone she meets, she is also a Nun. In this book a bigger picture is given on the brothers and the past and present father issues.
Book 5 This book will invoke insane feelings of anger towards Finch. Ellie is a 911 operator, and on the brink of an emotional and mental crisis. Sam’s past is a large focus in this book. The accidental call that Sam makes to Ellie may actually be what saves them both from utter turmoil or will be the cause of their destruction. Dark Sparrows are not used in this book, and you do not hear from Gabrielle at all.
Book 6 Excellent ending to the series. Finally, you get more of a glimpse of Lazarus and what may or may not be his happy ending. Sasha is an independent woman, but Lazarus seems to think she needs constant protection. The ending is a little anti-climactic BUT wraps up the story in a nice bow. This is a must read.
