Logan can’t seem to outrun trouble it always seems to find her …..

Logan heads to Oregon she just needs to breathe and clear her head a little bit instead she finds a body and she’s got to defend her friends , whom I might add are prime suspects 🙈 the police are distracted and more of the responsibility of proving their innocence falls on her….

Logan has her work cut out for her as the police have already decided who their killer is but she knows she’s right and one thing other than trouble finding her we know our girl is determined and I think her friends can be grateful for that trait 😉

Logan had me on the edge of my seat again and I expected nothing less if I’m honest 📚❣️

Logan hasn’t been in a holiday in a long time and heading to Oregon with Ben is just what they need.

Logan and Ben seem to be having a good time and life seems “ normal “ but death seems to find Logan wherever she is , she’s like a magnet for it 🙈 this time she’s not only trying to investigate the homicide but now she’s a suspect 🤷‍♀️🙈

The worst things about our past is sometimes we have to face it and Logan finds herself in a predicament , a decision has to be made but it’ll effect not only her but others as well …..

I was lucky enough to have read the previous books but for those that haven’t , it’s written so well that you don’t feel lost but as I said I read them all so I say go for it 🥰📚

Again , I enjoyed every page and again I’m looking forward to the next instalment, what can I say if you’re good then you’re good 😉

Logan just cant stay out of drama. In the beautiful pacific North West Logan decides to volunteer for the Raptor Sanctuary, but she gets way more than she bargained for when the vet ends up dead, their office absolutely ransacked and a raptor the vet was specially caring for is also dead. Logan jumps in to figure our what happened and this drags her into the center of trouble while the killer desperately tries to close any ties to them before they get caught. Logan and her friends find themselves in danger. I enjoyed that I didnt immediately have a suspect and had to follow the story with Logan to figure it out.
This book can be read as a stand alone but you will Understand Logan better if you read the previous stories first!

Whisper Creek: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7 by Valerie Davisson – Review by Amanda Swindle

Whisper Creek (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7)Whisper Creek by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Whisper Creek is the 7th installment in the Logan McKenna series and she’s found trouble….and murder…once again. Logan has gone viral with her voilin compositions, her confidence is booming, and her long time boyfriend has finally proposed. Life is perfect. That is, until a woman no one likes turns up dead. The local law enforcement have it all figured out, except Logan is sure they have it all wrong. As always with Logan McKenna, she has to get involved and help solve the murder, and take the suspicion off of her friend. This woman is a magnet for trouble but she knows how to get out of it too. I like that we are in book seven and the story is still fresh but it IS becoming a bit predictable with her always being involved or getting a friend off. Overall, I still love the series so far.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book 7 in the Logan McKenna Series is just as amazing as book one. You don’t need to read every book in the series and you can start at any book you want. However, once you read one of these books you will be going to read them all. The crazy twists and turns that this book takes will leave you on the edge of your seat till the very end of the book. Just when I thought I was starting to figure out who did what, I was so wrong. I didn’t see the twist coming and that is what really made this book amazing. I love being able to be surprised. Having read the other books int he series, I was really starting to wonder if/when things where going to start repeating themselves. That has NOT happened yet. Logan’s character in this series grows from book to book. She is amazing at what she does and how she just dives into every mystery. She is a supportive friend and very protective of those she loves. This book had me turning pages almost faster than I could read them. I needed to know what happened and then I hit the twist in the book and I didn’t put it down. If you feel like you could be a detective or solve crimes this series is for you. You will constantly be trying to figure out right along with the characters. I can’t wait for the next one.

Lies That Bind: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 6 (Logan McKenna Series)Lies That Bind: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 6 by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is the 6th in the series and it does not disappoint. The imagery that I have come to love from this author is in full force in this book. Every book in this series can be read as a stand alone but I HIGHLY stress that you read them in order because they are amazing. You will also see the amazing character growth that the author does with Logan. She has bought a house with her significant other and they are working on fixing it up. Then she is meeting her half sister. Then a murder happens. Logan finds herself digging in again. The thing that blows me away is that all of this is happening at the same time. Logan does not live a dull life and she is such a strong female character that I am not used to reading about. I love it. I love that as a reader I am able to follow her journey through things. These books do not disappoint and keeps me turning pages to see what is going to happen. Will she get along with her half-sister, will she be able to solve this murder, will she fix her house up. Its just amazing to me to see how Logan handles everything in her life and still continues to live her life. I am excited to jump into the next book to see what happens with Logan and how bad a$$ she is going to be.

I am just blown away by the way the author is able to describe the scenes in this book. It makes it feel like you are watching a movie or are even in the book yourself. That being said this is the 5th book in the series and each book can be read as a stand alone. I would recommend reading them from the beginning because you are able to see the growth of the main character, Logan. This book takes us to a vacation that Logan, her boyfriend, and adult daughter go on. Personally speaking, I am now wanting to go on a vacation. Maybe, without the mystery in the book but it would definitely make things a little more exciting. This book was a quick read because I just didn’t put it down. I kept turning pages to see what was going to happen and who did what. It is always interesting to see how Logan get involved in all of these adventures. She by any means does not lead a dull life. If you are looking for a quick escape that will have you thinking you could solve any mystery thrown at you, this is your series.

This is book 4 in the series. This book can be read as a stand alone and you won’t feel as if you have missed anything. Each book has their own adventure/mystery. I would recommend reading them in order though, because you get the whole depth of the character development that happens in the stories. Plus each adventure/mystery is amazing and you don’t want to miss anything that happens. Each book deals with someone in the main characters life. This one is her neighbor. This books deals with domestic abuse. Her neighbor has been in hiding and then is found but the main character gets involved in the danger because she might know something. This book had me turning pages to see what was going to happen, who was going to do what, how was this going to end. These thing kept my attention and had me finishing the book in record time. I have noticed that, I am reading each book in this series faster than the last and I am so excited to be able to go straight to the next one. You will find yourself getting submerged into the plot and actually for a but I thought I could be a detective and figure things out. These feelings that you get when reading this book is what us going to make you want to read the next.

We are in the third book of this series and they just keep getting better. I know that sounds like what everyone is writing but it is true. There is more background information given in this book than the last but it doesn’t feel as though you are reading the same thing again if you have read the other books in the series. If you haven’t and are just starting with this book it will give you some insight as to what the characters are going through and what has happened. I like that the author does this so anyone can start the series with any book. However, I feel like to get the most out of each book starting at the beginning would be the best to get everything you can out of it. In this book we get to know the main characters daughter. We also get to know sea otters. I know weird but it works in this book and actually really gave me some emotions I was not expecting in this book. There is the adventure and mystery that I have come to love with this author and this series. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I am loving to see what happens next and what adventures/mysteries we will go on in each book.

This is the second book in the series and it is better than the first. I feel like this will be a common theme with these books. I was excited to see what adventure we would get in this book. I was not disappointed by any means. An explosion, what a way to create some drama and mystery. Then the author adds in another element of the Vet. It is like getting two stories in one but the way the author has merged them is flawless. It is amazing. This book grips you from the start. It is written so well that you actually connect with the main character. She is amazing and I am not sure anyone can resist liking her. This book has it all the mystery, the multiple points of view, excitement, and has you turning pages as fast as you can. This series just flies off the pages and I can’t wait to see what happens next. That said there is amazing character growth from book one to book two. I love seeing characters evolve.

This is the first book in this series. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book and to say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Well, I am not sure you could say pleasantly surprised since I didn’t have any idea what I was getting into. The way the author writes this book just draws you in. It gives you a great background so you instantly feel connected to the main character. You go through the emotions that she goes through. Her friends are there to help her rebuild and start over. I immediately wanted to be their friends. This is how you can tell great writing, if you feel as if you are one of the group or want to be one of the group. What happens when there is a dead body and the main characters friend is being looked at? This is exactly how things end up. She is a strong female in this book and she decides that she needs to help her friend. This is a series and I feel like we are going to see amazing growth with this character. I can’t wait to see the journey she takes and if her super sleuthing will help her friend. I am also wanting her to find love but that is the romantic in me. She isn’t in the market for that in this book but it is a series so never say never.

Safe Harbor is book five in the Logan McKenna series and very well written crime story with a strong female lead. As always, you can read this as a standalone, but it does follow characters from previous books so extra character development and details carry over. This time around, Logan McKenna is in Oregon and if we have learned anything at all, she has a knack for finding problems. When a murder is reported, Logan finds herself being a suspect and she must prove her innocents. The author has an ability to suck us in to her characters, plots, and settings in a believable way, making this an easy read. I wonder where the next one will take us with Logan and her crew!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vanishing Day is book four in the Logan McKenna series and once again touches on sensitive topics. While this is a continuation in the series I do think it could be read as a standalone as well. In Vanishing Day, a Lori is trying to keep herself and her small child safe from an abusive husband. When the husband comes to try to make a bad situation worse, Logan steps in to try to help her new friend. Now, with too much information and getting involved in Lori’s dilemma, Logan is also in danger. I really liked the way this author can take a serious topic and twist it into an engaging story, bringing awareness to situations but not lecturing on them. Well done and well written.

After reading book 8, though fully intending to go all the way back to book one to begin the series, that is what people recommend, I haven’t done that yet, I went to the next book in the series, book nine. This series focuses mainly on one person, Logan McKenna. She frequently has to lay it all on the line to solve the mysteries and the suspense is palpable. Lost and Found was an intriguing novel that I’m glad to have read and can recommend to others.

Devil’s Claw is the third book in the Logan McKenna series, and so far my favorite of the first three books. I am coming to find out each book focuses on a different social issue and is well presented in how it is handled. I never feel lectured or forced to see things from the author’s POV, but rather shown that the issue exists, and how to navigate through that. Devil’s claw taught me a bit about sea otters and rescue as a side educational portion to the actual storyline. The author paints vivid pictures describing her scenes and characters and the character development is believable and easy to follow. When a new sea otter rescue is presented with legal battles over who the real owner of the property is, greed and complications come out in full swing. Many people come forward as the owners, and the hostility amps up quickly. Inevitably, someone turns up murdered. With so many people involved…some with everything to lose, and everything to gain…who is the culprit? Very fast paced and edge of your seat writing style, and I liked this one the best so far. Can’t wait to check out book 4!

This was a very suspenseful murder mystery that I really enjoyed reading. This story had to from the beginning, and it really was enjoyable to know what was going to happen throughout the book. This book I did feel was missing something thou, I really like how this strong-willed woman takes a strong lead in the story. Logan can be a really related character and even with normal things like glassblowing was very interesting. Logan is trying to pick her life up from what happened with her husband and putting it all together that things all of a sudden feel like they might just get worse. But with her determination and never-ending investigation this book really had some twists and turns and was very entertaining to read. great book for a first book in the series I do hope I learn more about Logan in the next books.

Devil’s Claw is the third book in the Logan McKenna Series and it hits even closer to home for Logan. This time around, Logan’s daughter, Amy, is involved in the drama. Although I hope that no one has as bad of luck as Logan, in the fact that all these murders, kidnappings, and overall bad things happen around her, they do make for an exciting series! Valerie Davisson delivers again with the same realistic characters and amazing world building. There are so many twists and turns and several point of views, yet Davisson is able to keep things from getting confusing or jumbled. There are so many factors going on in this book, but they all somehow come together wonderfully in a fantastic, thrilling tale, complete with fuzzy, cuddly sea otters!

In Plain Sight: A Logan McKenna Mystery #8 by Valerie Davisson

This is another great read by the author. In Plain Sight is the eighth book in the Logan McKenna Mysteries. Once again I’m amazed by what the author does with her words.

Logan is once again making an interesting discovery. Another murder happens and it doesn’t involve her. Logan isn’t sure what to make of it, but she knows that there’s nothing she can do. The quote I chose for Logan is: “As soon as I know anything, I’ll come find you and fill you in, I promise. In the meantime, when the police get here, bring them back to the hospital, okay? Louise is on her way in. If anyone else comes in this way, just send them home. Maybe put a sign out for visitors.”

Highly recommended for Crime Thriller lovers.

This book was amazing!
Yes it is far into a series but I didn’t feel that it effected my understanding of the plot and characters.
I have really become addicted to female leads and this author is spot on in drawing you into the suspense.
I had no idea how this was going to go.
I love talent shows but now I am iffy.
Finding a dead body is where the author got me.
This is mystery and suspense hyped up too 1000%
When I tell you this had me so entertained I feel like a detective now.
I became part of this world in Oregon I cried and laughed and lost a few breathes.

Here is another author where I didn’t start at the beginning of the series and I didn’t care. This book is definitely great as a stand-alone.
Logan is a great character and she has lots of very interesting friends. During a staff talent show to kick off the new school semester, Monica, the step-mother of one of the students, is found shot and killed in the school’s chicken coop.
Thanks to a wonderful Golden Retriever the murder weapon is found and that really starts the investigation moving forward. Monica is not a very nice person so there are many people, including her step-son and husband, who have reasons to want her gone. You have to read all the way through to the end to find out who really did it.
This was definitely a page turner for me and I will be getting all of the other books in this series.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Davisson. The Logan McKenna Series is amazing. You can read these in order or you can read them as standalones.

Logan is back to helping solve crimes. She finds a dead body in a chicken coop. When she finds out who did it she once again puts herself into danger. The quote I chose for Logan is: “I’m okay. I mean, it was awful, finding her like that, but I didn’t know her. I just met her. It’s not like discovering someone close to you.”

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

While I was sitting here reflecting on what I just read, I realized my initial thoughts when I finished reading Whisper Creek by Valerie Davisson were the right ones. I feel like I had a love/hate relationship with Valerie Davison’s book. There were parts that were very intriguing and I wanted more, but then there were parts where I said to myself “what is going on? what does this have to do with anything?”
At the beginning we meet Logan who goes and helps out at the New School in Oregon every so often. She was the main character of our story, but not the center of it.
The center of our story was a who done it, in regards to the murder of
Monica LeGrange. A piece of work in her own right, nobody liked Monica, leaving the detectives a list of 50 people it could be.
Logan spends the story going through the ins and outs of trying to figure out who did it before the police arrest the wrong person.
I enjoyed the way the book was written! Also the character development, especially Monica, was very intriguing at times. I will say I enjoyed the unexpected twist at the end, definitely didn’t see that one coming.
In saying all that, I love forward to reading something else Valerie Davisson has written in the near future.

This is book 7 in the Logan McKenna series, but the first one I have read. Logan is visiting her house on the Oregon Coast, she heads up to The New School for her annual January trip. The New School is an eclectic private school for not just the rich. Finding that there is a staff talent show the night she arrives, she looks forward to watching to be told she would be the next to last act.
After the performance is over, she heads outside with what was the last act, an amazing golden retriever. Running off, Logan chases her and finds a dead body. All she wanted was some relaxation and time to process her new engagement and video that had gone viral. The dead body is the stepmother of one of the students at the school. She was not well liked, but who would have actually wanted her dead?
I have lived in Oregon all my life, and get so excited when I stumble upon a book that is set here. Recognizing the towns and landmarks always make me feel so much more connected to the story. This was a great read, am now going to have to go back and start at book one.
