Whisper Creek (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7)Whisper Creek by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book 7 in the Logan McKenna series, but the first one I have read. Logan is visiting her house on the Oregon Coast, she heads up to The New School for her annual January trip. The New School is an eclectic private school for not just the rich. Finding that there is a staff talent show the night she arrives, she looks forward to watching to be told she would be the next to last act.
After the performance is over, she heads outside with what was the last act, an amazing golden retriever. Running off, Logan chases her and finds a dead body. All she wanted was some relaxation and time to process her new engagement and video that had gone viral. The dead body is the stepmother of one of the students at the school. She was not well liked, but who would have actually wanted her dead?
I have lived in Oregon all my life, and get so excited when I stumble upon a book that is set here. Recognizing the towns and landmarks always make me feel so much more connected to the story. This was a great read, am now going to have to go back and start at book one.

Whisper Creek: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7 by Valerie Davisson was a great addition to this series. Upon discovering this novel I was so interested in that I had to binge read the first six just to read this one. Our lead character Logan has so much going on in her life including a music video, a love life with Ben, friendships, and drama. When she is already worried about her relationship with Ben and so much more, extreme mystery and drama find our girl. What will our girl do when the finger points to someone she loves dear? Will Logan be able to sort out all of the pieces and find out the truth? Or will false accusations, multiple suspects, and endless motives stop her from finding out the truth? You’ll have to read Whisper Creek: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7 by Valerie Davisson for yourself to find out.

Whisper Creek: A Logan McKenna Mystery by Valerie Davisson is the seventh book in this series. I highly recommend reading the books in order because the personal details of the characters build with each book. I really enjoy this series and love the twists and turns. Things are going well for Logan, and her personal life and career are soaring. She decides to take some time for herself and gets away. But, of course, things do not go as planned. This book is fun, engaging, and thrilling. I have enjoyed this entire series, and this did not disappoint. I look forward to reading more from this author soon.

Logan McKenna is back and she is now engaged to her long term boyfriend, it is something she is still getting used to as she has depended on herself for so long, it is a hard habit to break, but she is happy and looking forward to the future, even if she isn’t sharing that news with anyone else as yet. However, she receives a phone call from her best friend telling her to go onto YouTube and look at the video she is in because apparently it has gone viral, much to Logan’s amazement, the video is a medley of her performances which has been professionally edited and when she contacts the only person she can think of who would have done it, it turns out that the amount of views it has accumulated a substantial amount of money and that part of that money will be going to her, but Logan is worried about the affect it will have on her relationship, so she heads out to a consulting job to spend a few days away with work to help her come to terms with everything and clear her head.

When she arrives at her destination, she is thrown in the deep end with an event that they are hosting the next day which Logan has been rostered to appear in, she is more than happy to oblige and the evening goes off without a hitch, that is until she goes for a late night walk with a colleagues dog who finds a dead body. Logan goes back to the event and announces whom she has found and where before calling the police to report it, everyone is shocked and as the investigation begins and statements are made, nobody knows who could have done it. As the investigation continues and the detectives bore deeper into the lives of those around the victim, more and more secrets are revealed and those closest to Logan are the ones in the spotlight, so despite her fiancé’s protests she stays on and tries to figure out who the real culprit is, as well as their motive for the killing.

Things are not going smoothly, as Logan tries to solve the mystery, but will she be able to sieve through the secrets and accusations to uncover the truth and solve it before anyone else is hurt, or will her instincts lead her astray and stop her being able to safeguard those innocents around her? This is another thrilling murder mystery which will hook you in and keep you reading as you follow the threads to untangle the crime and figure out the identity of the killer in question.

I was pleasantly surprised with Whisper Creek: A Logan McKenna Mystery (Book 7 in the series) since I have not read any of the others. This one can be a standalone, as I had no issues following the story or understanding what was going on (without any background). From the very start, we understand there is already a murder and many people that could be the possible killer. Davisson does a very good job keeping us guessing and switching up my primary suspicion on the suspect. I loved that, as the author, she kept a very neutral stance, never indicating one way or another which suspect we should favor, and left that all up to us, the readers! The scenes were well set, the characters well written, and the mystery plentiful! I will be going back to read the others in the series now, 10 out of 10!

This is one of the best purchases I’ve made for a mystery. The action sets you up from the beginning and slowly develops until you don’t realize that you are in the middle of it and you just can’t put it down. Logan gets in the middle of thins to help her friends. I loved the action. A book that can keep me pulled in with action in the story is a great story. It’s hard to stick with stories that drag. Logan and the other characters just mesh so well that the plot intertwines in such a way that you want to know who did it. I love playing sleuth. Wonderful descriptions, her details of the coast are terrific. This book is a must read!!! Highly recommend.

Whisper Creek is the 7th book in Valerie Davisson’s Logan McKenna series. I’ve enjoyed this series a lot because it centers around a strong, independent woman and each book seems to get more intriguing than the one before it. I feel this is in part to the character growth we have seen since the very beginning. While this book is better having read the ones before it, Valerie Davisson has written in a way that you could follow along regardless. Whisper Creek was an exciting addition to this series with several twists and turns that helped the story flow seamlessly.
I have really come to love Logan (and even Ben) and look forward to what more is to come from

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and this latest installment lives up to my expectations. The author writes the books solidly and in such a way that someone could pick them up without having read the whole series. I love how the main character has developed throughout the series. She is a fantastic lead and love watching how she progresses through each new mystery. If you love a good crime thriller with spunk, this book and series should be on your TBR list.

Whisper Creek is the 7th book in the Logan McKenna series by Valerie Davisson. It can be read as a standalone book. I have read one or two others, but not the whole series. There are a lot of references to past people or events, but its not detrimental. The story is solid enough on its own, and much like a law and order episode. I loved the mystery throughout this book! From the beginning, we know there is a murder, and multiple possible suspects. Logan and her coworker friends act like detectives to help solve the mystery. The author keeps the options open, and reveals the evidence little by little. She keeps things matter of fact, without leaning toward one or another. We see possible motive, but we are left guessing “who done it.” Let me tell you, I was NOT expecting things to go the way they did. I want to read more, as there was mentions to Logan’s finance, but he was a limited character. I feel there is likely more to that in previous books. Highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys crime, mystery thrillers. It is not a scary thriller, but is action packed to the very end.

This was quite the thrilling crime read from Valerie Davisson. Something I have come to expect and love about the Logan McKenna Mystery Books. Whisper Creek is the seventh book in the series, but I would think you would be okay if you didn’t read the previous stories however, these do get better and better as they go and build on character development and storylines so I would personally recommend that you start from the beginning to get the most out of your reading experience. In this one we find Logan smack dab in the middle of another mind bending mystery and murder plot that will leave you guessing right up until the end who did it and if she will be able to come out unscathed and the ones she loves as well. I look forward to seeing what will come next!

Everything is going well for Logan; she is now engaged and it looks like life is on track. So, when her students and her produce a music video and it goes viral, can she still have a happily ever after.

Logan is happy in life, her personnel life is great and her career is going well until a video that her and her students make goes viral and she worries how this will affect her relationship with Ben, but as usual with everything going on she also stumbles upon a body and let’s just say it gets more complicated from there on in.

This is the seventh book in this series and this book does not disappoint, it is full of the usual twists and turns you accept from a Logan McKenna story and has you following along trying to solve the murder with Logan as her friend. I could not put this book down and accepting the story to follow one way and then suddenly driving in another way has you definitely on your toes.
This can be read as a stand-alone story but I would read this series from the start as you get to understand the dynamic between Logan and Ben and how they first started and some back history which I think helps you to enjoy the stories better. Can’t wait for the next book in this wonderful series.

I’ve never read a Valerie Davisson novel before but somehow I ended up in the middle of a series and I can’t say I regret it.

Davisson is extremely descriptive, her words are artistic and carefully chosen like poetry. She leaves no question about where you are or what the characters are seeing. Which is really neat when having multiple points of views and thoughts.

I fully believe in not spoiling mysteries so I won’t say much! I will go back and read the previous books in the series because I can tell there were a few life references I missed out on, but it was a fine read even without the background context!

Whisper Creek (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7)Whisper Creek by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Whisper Creek kept me interested from the start. In the first few chapters alone, you discover our heroine, Logan McKenna has gotten engaged to her love, Ben, AND had a large amount earned from a video a former student uploaded of her playing her violin and uploaded to YouTube.

This would be plenty of excitement in most peoples lives, but this book is so well written and has so much happening that you forget about these pieces of news until the author reminds you of them.

When Logan goes to The New School to check on the program she initiated, The Fractals. The New School is nestled in the Oregon forests and is run differently than most schools. The staff lives in cabins on the grounds, the kitchen grows food on the grounds, as well as keeping chickens. Everyone is very invested in the school thriving, and everyone you meet are such strong individuals in their own ways.

When the evening of the staff talent show ends with Logan finding the body of a stepmother of one of the students, things start happening very fast. Who is she, really? Why would someone want to kill her? As the story progresses, you find there may be more people who would like to see her gone than it originally appeared.

When the police find multiple suspects that have their own motives, this case becomes much less open and shut than it seemed at first! Will Logan be able to get answers to protect their student? Will she be able to help fill in some gaps?

Vanessa Davisson keeps you right where she wants you until she is ready to make the big reveal. This is the first book of hers I have read, and can’t wait to read more! If you like mystery and thrillers, read this book!

Whisper Creek is the seventh novel in the Logan McKenna series by Valerie Davisson.

Logan has accepted Ben’s marriage proposal. After a video goes viral, Logan decides to visit Oregon to clear her head as well as a consulting job. Where, she of course, finds a body.

Unfortunately, the prime suspects of the murder are friends of Logan’s.

The fact that their prime suspects were friends of Logan’s was a complete shock.

I really enjoyed this novel and I love this series. I get excited when I see that another novel has been released.

It has been great seeing the progressive of Logan’s character and the mysteries that she solves. Even the lengths she will go.

Whisper Creek: A Logan McKenna Mystery by Valerie Davisson is the seventh book in the Logan McKenna series. This is a series that really does need to be read in order as it follows the same main characters all the way through. This book is yet another great addition to this series. Immediately you are pulled right back into Logan and her world. It is always so good to pick up where you left off with her, and so easy to go fall into the rhythm of the story.
I honestly don’t know how the author does it. Even seven books into the series and she still keeps everyone of them as fresh and new as the first. For me I think it shows the strength of her writing that I am just as excited about the seventh book as I am all the others. This is a great story that I would recommend.

This is book seven in the ‘Logan McKenna Mystery’ series and having read and enjoyed all of the previous books I was looking forward to this latest novel and was not disappointed. It was great being back with the heroine of the stories, Logan, who now feels like an old friend. Logan and Ben our now engaged and Logan has made an unexpectedly profitable music video with the help of her students, which has gone viral. Whilst visiting Oregon on a consulting gig Logan is distracted worrying that the video and the money will effect her relationship with Ben, but she soon has other things to worry about when she stumbles upon a dead body.

When her friends turn out to be the prime suspects, Logan investigates to protect them and discover the true murderer. However with four suspects, endless motives, false accusations and a web of lies Logan has her work cut out to discover the truth and prevent further killings. As usual this is a real page turner which had me hooked from page one. The exciting storyline has plenty of plot twists that kept me guessing until the end. I love Logan and she is a great main character who is very relatable and who really brings the story together. I like the dynamic between her and Ben and the romance element this brings to the story. This is a suspenseful story which had me happily turning the pages well into the night, and I definitely recommend this engaging and enjoyable read.

This is the seventh book in the Logan McKenna series and they just keep getting better and better. I have read these books from the first one and it’s been amazing to see Logan blossom and transform throughout the series.
Logan’s life seems to be on an even keel now. Her job is going well, she is engaged to Ben and everything seems good in the world. However trouble always seems to find Logan.

Firstly a video her student makes of her music goes viral making her a wealthy woman, but Logan is concerned about how this will affect her relationship with Ben. Will he be supportive or will it come between them

Secondly on her trip for work she stumbles across a dead body. With her friends looking like the prime suspects she now needs to use her skills as an investigator to solve this case before the murderer strikes again.

This book is action packed and has so much depth with the relationships Logan has with Ben and her friends. You get dragged into Logan’s world and you aren’t let go until the end. I can’t wait to see what will happen next

I give Whisper Creek: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 7 (Logan McKenna Series) by Valerie Davisson, 4 stars.

This is the first book that I have read in this series. I really enjoyed it and am interested in going back to read the previous books. The setting, a murder happening during a faculty talent show, is different and interesting. The list of suspects is varied and longer than you first expect. The author does a great job of setting it up and dropping clues here and there, you are constantly wondering who really did it. The characters are great too. Logan is a great main character, who just wants to find out who did it to help her friends. The other characters are each unique and you sympathize with each and every one — even the suspects.

This is a gripping murder mystery that held and surprised me until the end. I highly recommend it.

Whisper Creek is the seventh book in the Logan McKenna Mystery series by Valerie Davisson. This is a crime and investigation story with murder, mystery, drama, secrets, suspense, dramatic developments, danger, and tension.
This series is definitely getting better the further into it I get. With this the seventh book, our leading lady Logan has been through quite a lot, but don’t expect her to get a reprieve any time soon.
Even away from home, trouble never seems far behind. When a murder lands her friends firmly in the spotlight as prime suspects, Logan will have her work cut out for her in order to protect her friends and get to the bottom of things and uncover the culprit before the murderer can strike again.
Wonder what Ms. Davisson has in store for us next?

Thank you, Valerie Davisson!

I fell in love with this book provided from page one! The author really knew how to get the readers interested in what they were reading and setting up the man story line. I kept on reading and I must say, I really got into this one, it was very well written!

I loved the author’s concept behind everything in the words that came from the pages here. Logan was a wonderful character. She was a very relatable, but also someone that stood out from the rest. I loved how she wanted only the truth, but yet to protect everyone around her. In honesty, would her need for the truth be her downfall? That was something I constantly asked myself as I was reading. For me, what I also loved was what I thought could be a suspected truth to what was going on, well I was actually way off. There was a lot of things going on and and it really kept me on the edge my my seat!

I really loved the work of this wonderful author. They did a wonderful hob and wrote a very captivating story. I truly had a lot of fun and enjoyment while reading and I look forward to reading more from them in the future. If your a die hard mystery or crime fan, I highly recommend you picking this book up!
