Gamble on a Cowboy by Melissa Keir and D’Ann Lindun 5 stars
This is a two story book. Both were fast paced and quick reads.
A Vegas Cowboy- David aka Daisy, was quickly liked by me and i really felt for him from his short background story. Things take an interesting turn out on the town and he must confront new feelings.
Vegas,Baby,Vegas- A woman in a man dominated profession gets recognized alot and also stepped on for things but when someone catches her eye, and not in a good way, in her mind at least, Bailey must make quick decisions . I really liked Bailey except for her one big mistake.
This was a great collection to read, and I love the sneak peaks at other works by these authors. I will be reading more for sure!

This book was a fast read for me but really good. The two main characters are David “Daisy” and Alicia. The accidentally meet at a conference in Las Vegas. Alicia was there as a keynote speaker and Daisy was there to attend the conference as a restaurant owner. Daisy and Alicia literally run into each other at the airport then Daisy saves her poolside from an aggressive stranger. Deciding to have a few drinks and go out for the evening to thank Daisy. The next morning both wake up with extreme hangovers and no memory of the previous night, but do discover quickly they are married. Trying to undo what they have done is not as easy as they thought and their attraction to each other is off the charts. Daisy is struggling after losing his first wife and daughter in a house robbery years ago and Alicia isn’t sure what to do about Daisy. This was a great book and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Gamble On A Cowboy by authors Melissa Keir and D’Ann Lindun
5-Stars
Gamble On A Cowboy consists of two short romance stories featuring Las Vegas and Cowboys. The lead female in each story is very independent, confident, and driven. The lead males were both attractive and focused. Each character was dedicated and passionate about their career choices and I loved that they meshed easily with each of the ladies careers. The storyline of each was easy to follow and difficult to put down. I found it easy to get carried away and mixed up in the drama and romance. This compilation was such a fun read and I definitely recommend it.

I’m typically not a fan of “western romance” or cowboys (probably because I’m a city girl at heart and it is like reading a foreign language) but I decided to take a chance on this 2 story collection. I’m glad I did, because I found both stories enjoyable.
I’m not sure what the connection is between the two authors but for as much as their writing style was similar, it was also very different. Both stories had lovely main characters with backstories that made them be who they are today. Both stories had strong women who weren’t afraid to be a woman in a “man’s world”.
These stories have surprise and tenderness and romance and sexy times. They also had miscommunications and angst and everything that makes a romance fun to read.
Side note: When I read the blurb and there was mention about taking stock to market, I was thinking the “financial market” I was wrong. Hehe
I will be reading stories by both of these authors in the future and recommend this collection.

Gamble on a Cowboy by Melissa Keir & D’Ann Lindun is a combination of 2 great books by 2 amazing authors. These books were a great way introduce me to two new series. It gave a great insight into what they would be like. They were both lighthearted and easy to read, a great snapshot of what else is to come. The characters were all interesting and easy to connect with. Although short the stories had depth and held my interest well. I have read Melissa Keir before so knew I would enjoy her work however D’Ann was new to me and I liked the way she had pace and the book had a good flow about it. I will be checking out more from both of these authors in the future for sure.

Gamble on a Cowboy was a fabulous read! I have read stories by Melissa Keir previously and I knew I loved her writing but I was also really looking forward to reading work by D’Ann Lindun – a new to me author! Well I think I can definitely add her to my new list of authors to love! I have a soft spot for western romance stories and both of these definitely hit the spot!! Both of these novella’s would have been equally as amazing as full length novels – I was impressed with how the authors managed to cram so much into their short stories, I wasn’t left wanting more, well I was only because they were brilliant reads and not because I felt like I was missing anything. I really liked all of the characters, I thought that they were all really likeable and I connected with them all. I would absolutely recommend these two wonderful short, sweet romance reads, I don’t think you will be disappointed!

Gamble on a Cowboy by Melissa Keir and D’Ann Lindun is a contemporary (western) romance. In this book, you will have A Vegas Cowboy by Melissa Keir and Vegas, Baby, Vegas by D’Ann Lindun. Both of these authors are excellent authors on their own; the combination of these two stories were perfectly fit. In A Vegas Cowboy, this is truly a second chance romance and the characters were stunning. I found the story line to be enlightening, fun and pleasant to read. The main characters were well established and raw. In Vegas, Baby, Vegas, the reader is given a bit more country feel to the story, but no less excellent in its imagery. The characters were right on pace, along with an energetic feeling plot and sequence of events. I enjoyed both of these stories!

Gamble On A Cowboy is a fantastic book comprised of two captivating western romances written by Melissa Keir and D’Ann Lindun. These two talented authors have teamed up to each bring us a story centred around Cowboys and Vegas. The stories are well written, romantic, sweet, touching and emotional. The book contains:
A Vegas Cowboy By: Melissa Keir
Alicia Cortez has just arrived in Vegas for the National Restaurateurs Convention as the keynote speaker. She’s an expert at turning failing businesses around and making them profitable and successful. When she takes a tumble leaving the airport, a very sexy stranger saves her from what could have been a very painful landing. Little does she suspect that in only a matter of hours she will wake up married to the hunk. How could that happen in such a short time? Well that’s the magic of Vegas! David MacKenzie is in Vegas to accept an award. He hopes that the recognition will bring his small-town restaurant some extra attention and is also a chance for him to expand his marketing. He loved his restaurant and small town life, but things weren’t the same since his wife and daughter died 6 years ago. To keep his mind off things, he channelled all his time and energy into the business, so he certainly wasn’t interested in another relationship- he’d had his chance at love, then it was snatched away. So, how does he end up married? If you love cowboys, Vegas, Second chances, love at first sight, humour, funny banter, emotion, and quick, easy reads- then this is definitely a story for you!
Vegas, Baby, Vegas By: D’Ann Lindun
For Bailey McKlellen and Maverick Cartwright, it was sparks and steam right from the moment they crossed paths. He irritated her just as much as he attracted her. She was determined to carry on with business and not let him distract or undermine her. As a female stock contractor, she’d worked hard to earn her respected reputation, and she wasn’t going to let some handsome new-comer take that away from her. But the guy is a thorn in her side, and an itch she needs to scratch. So, after a few drinks one night, she decides the best way to get him out of her head and get back to business, is to ‘hook-up’ with him- then he’d be out of her system. But things don’t work out that way, and her night of passion gives her much more than she ever expected. Add some sabotage, a little danger, some angst, drama, tension, chemistry, and a little mystery- and this story really takes off. Ms. Lindun delivers a steamy, heart-warming read!

I didn’t realize that these are novellas with whole series attached. I really enjoyed the stories and it turned up my interest in looking into the series. Each story is well written and flowed very nicely. It was easy to fall in love with the characters. They were fun and flirty which made me smile. Cowboy stories are some of my favorite romances. There are so many avenues that can be taken. Both of these stories fall into the rodeo side of being a cowboy. In these we have a former bullfighter turned restaurant owner as well as a female stock contractor vs a male stock contractor. Both are equally full of some interesting main characters as well as a few secondary ones.
These are great for a quick read or an introduction to a couple new authors. I really enjoyed each of them. They made me smile and feel happy which is what I want when reading a romance.

This book has two heartfelt stories that will pull at your heartstrings. I enjoyed both books. They are about two women who will either take a chance at love or a chance a broken hearts. They took me on an emotional ride that was steamy in parts and heartwarming in others. They have chemistry and attraction with the steamy men. The characters made me feel as if I was part of the story. They are independent, strong and lovable. I highly recommend these books, you won’t regret picking it up.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas… Alicia Cortez turns failing businesses around and comes to Vegas to give the keynote speech at the National Restaurateurs’ Convention. Talented and opinionated, she knows what will work and what won’t, but she’s been unable to find love. David “Daisy” MacKenzie reinvented his life after the death of his wife and daughter. He keeps their dreams of a family restaurant alive in small-town Whisper, Colorado. Now he’s in Vegas and up for an award when a beautiful woman literally falls into his arms. When Alicia and Daisy wake up missing ten hours of memory and married, will they be able to compromise and see that love is what they both need…or will their marriage be lost like dollars in Vegas?
Vegas, Baby, Vegas by D’Ann Lindun
As a woman stock contractor, Bailey McKlellan is fiercely independent. A woman in a man’s world, she can hold her own with anyone. For some reason, a cocky newcomer gets under her skin and won’t let go. In an attempt to get him out of her system, she decides to spend the night with him…with unintended consequences. New to the world of contracting stock, Maverick Cartwright’s intrigued by Bailey McKlellan…so much so he can’t get her out of his mind. He’s ecstatic when the lady decides to spend one night with him. Will he be so happy when they meet again in Las Vegas?
Melissa Keir has always wanted to be an author when she wasn’t hoping for a career as a racecar driver. Her love of books was instilled by her mother and grandparents who were avid readers. She’d often sneak books away from them so that she could fantasize about those strong alpha males and plucky heroines.
Melissa doesn’t believe in down time. She’s always keeping busy. Melissa is a wife and mother, an elementary school teacher, a movie reviewer with WHMI (a local radio station), owner of a publishing company as well as an author. Her home blends two families and is a lot like the Brady Bunch, without Alice- a large grocery bill, tons of dirty dishes and a mound of laundry. She loves to write stories that feature happy endings and is often seen plotting her next story.
She’d love to hear from you!
D’Ann Lindun:
Falling in love with romance novels the summer before sixth grade, D’Ann Lindun never thought about writing one until many years later when she took a how-to class at her local college. She was hooked! She began writing and never looked back. Fifty manuscripts and numerous awards later, she is an Amazon bestseller! Romance appeals to D’Ann because there’s just something so satisfying about writing a book guaranteed to have a happy ending. Her particular favorites usually feature cowboys and the women who love them.
