This is the perfect romance to put you in a holiday frame of mind. I could almost smell cinnamon sticks and pumpkin pie, see lights twinkling and snow falling. Liberty and Sawyer appear to be complete opposites on the surface but they quickly feel a connection between them that grows by the minute. It was pure magic seeing the way that Sawyer lit up as he interacted with Liberty and her family as they enjoyed holiday festivities together. There is also such a beautiful twist in this story that really lets you peek into the true heart of Sawyer and see why these two are absolutely meant to be together!

So I absolutely love, love Christmas. It is by far my fave holiday. So with that being said I most certainly love stories that take place on or near Christmas Time. Also, I know I may have read out of order, since it is book four in it’s series. But it very well may be read as a standalone. This is a first time read by the author for me as well. It will NOT be my last either! Loved Snowflakes & Stockings sooo much. Once started reading could not set aside until I read it ALL! It was truly such a sweet heartwarming, small town romance. Another of my faves! Now I sooo have to go back and read books one through three!!

This book was such a sweet Christmas Hallmark Movie in the making! Liberty Johnson is a reporter who has been working on a piece for a few years now. She is looking for a Secret Santa Claus who has been donating millions of dollars worth of presents for families in Maine who deserve a true Merry Christmas. When she narrowed down her choices, she came down to a young millionaire named Sawyer Campbell. Ever since they met for a quick interview, they have been seeing more of each other closer to the holidays. There is love, family, and friendship in this story that deserves it all!

Snowflakes & Stockings is another really cute book by Marianne Rice, in the Wilton Hills Christmas series. It can be read as a stand alone- it is the first book I read in this series and I loved it. I look forward to reading the others, as they are each about one of Liberty’s siblings. At first it had a Fifty Shades vibe to it- not the bondage, but the characters. Young innocent reporter interviewing gorgeous millionaire bachelor. The mystery surrounding he and his family… But, this book was clean and adorable. I loved the characters and their chemistry. Liberty has a really tightknit family and they are all loveable. I liked the added tidbit of how she and her siblings got their names, it really brought the family to life. I like that Sawyer was really sweet, and wish there was a little more detail about his childhood loss. I felt it was breezed over and he didn’t get as much background built as Liberty. I recommend this book as a quick cute romantic book to get you in the holiday spirit, and enjoy the happily ever after.

I had no clue when I downloaded this book that there were three other books before Snowflakes and Stockings. But no the less I picked right up on the storyline. I felt like I was in the middle of a Hallmark movie scene the whole way through the book. Rice did a great job setting the tone while keeping the reader hooked.
Liberty is a driven, independent spitfire who comes from a big close family. While Sawyer is equally driven and independent, he is the co-owner of Maine’s big tech firm. While Liberty is trying to investigate the identity of Maine’s Secret Santa, which she hopes will help her to land a promotion at her job, she comes across Sawyer. Personally, the way Rice developed Sawyer’s character I found very relatable. He comes from a workaholic family background, who don’t spend too much time outside the office together. When Liberty invites Sawyer to Thanksgiving dinner, she has no idea that he would fit in so perfectly.
I truly fell in love with this book so much that I downloaded the three-book the preceded Snowflakes and Stockings. This series is a must-read series, especially with the holidays approaching.

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas #4) by Marianne Rice

This is the first book I’ve read by Rice. This is the fourth book in the A Wilton Hills Christmas Series. Although it can be read as a standalone. Snowflakes & Stockings is a great short read and a wonderful story.

Liberty is on the lookout for Maine’s Secret Santa who gives thousands away during Christmas. When she gets down to three people one of them sticks out more than the other two. When she meets Sawyer she doesn’t think it’s him because he doesn’t have Christmas spirit. The quote I chose for Liberty is: “Oh my gosh. I love Noodle, and I haven’t eaten all day either. I swear, if it wasn’t for my camera crew or for Lizzie, the assistant manager at the station, I’d go days without eating. No, that’s not entirely true. My family wouldn’t allow that. It seems every week we have a gathering that involves copious amounts of food. Anyway, I digress. I apologize. A dinner meeting is perfect.”

Sawyer doesn’t really like Christmas because of the loss he and his family had. He meets with Liberty under the assumptions of doing an article of Campbell Tech. The quote I chose for Sawyer is: “Baby of the family? I don’t see it. You’re an established professional working in a field that requires deadlines. You wouldn’t be where you are if you didn’t meet them. And you wouldn’t be where you are by riding someone else’s coattails. I may be wrong with your birth order but I’m right on all other accounts.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, despite Snowflakes and Stockings being the fourth book in the Wilton Hills Christmas series. I am a sucker for a good holiday romance the second the seasons shift so this cozy read hit the spot. I loved all the characters and while I usually find myself
more drawn to the male lead character in romances, Liberty was an exception. I enjoyed both she and Sawyer and their chemistry was adorable. I loved that the storyline had a lot of family involvement and the feel of the book was honestly small town, warm and welcoming (if that even makes sense). Snowflakes and Stockings was a great way to kick off my annual holiday book spree and I look forward to exploring more of Marianne Rice’s writing in the near future. 5/5 stars for me!

Oh, I loved this story so much, it’s one of those reads that has you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside once you have finished reading it. A beautiful Christmas romance with a magical feel to it. I loved Liberty and Sawyer, really lovely characters who you cannot help but fall in love with. Both characters were really relatable as well which made their story even more appealing to read about. I think this definitely had the Christmas movie feel about it! The family dynamics in the story I think also really added something especially Liberty’s! That’s one family I would love to be a part of.
Overall, a really lovely story and one that I would highly recommend to other readers!

Snowflakes And Stockings is book four in A Wilton Hills Christmas series by Marianne Rice. This is my first time reading anything from this author and the series, this book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone story.

I’m a huge fan of a festive-themed book and couldn’t wait to get started this year. Stockings And Snowflakes was a great book to kick things off with.
Liberty is up for a promotion, and it’s pretty much a guarantee if she can solve the most recent mystery…who is the famous secret Santa?
I loved the warmth of the story and the Christmassy feel that this book had, it was such an easy and cosy read. The characters are likable and relatable, and I really enjoyed the building up of the relationship between Liberty and Sawyer. Their chemistry made this story even better.
This book was a lovely accompaniment to a gloomy (sadly, not snowy) Sunday afternoon.

This is such a sweet holiday story. Liberty is a reporter who loves being the one chasing the story and getting the scoop on something rather than being in front of the camera. Sawyer is a workaholic who has helped his father make their business a Fortune 500 company.
Liberty is nosing around to find out who is donating so much money as a secret Santa. She has three suspects. The first two don’t pan out to her thinking, could it be the third? Her interviews with Sawyer are squeezed in and look and feel more like dates. Her boss is expecting the story by the end of the week. Will she keep pushing through for her job? Or is her heart going to rule?
I really enjoyed the flow of Marianne Rice’s writing. I am going to have to put the first three books on my TBR list.

This is an enjoyable and engaging Christmas romance with a real festive feel to it. I was hooked from page one and was kept happily turning the pages by this heartwarming story. Investigative reporter Liberty Johnson has a mystery to solve, to figure out the identity of Maine’s Secret Santa. If Liberty can discover who it is then she is guaranteed a promotion and her own weekly feature on the local news. Having narrowed it down, the last person on her short list is someone who she thinks it can’t possibly be, due to his lack of interest in Christmas, businessman Sawyer Campbell. Liberty is instantly attracted to Sawyer and their chemistry sizzles off the page, and it’s not long until she is juggling both him and work. However, with her promotion within sight and her own weekly feature at risk Liberty has to decide between love or work. This wonderfully written festive read has a lovely storyline, likeable and relatable characters, and plenty of romance all of which made me feel immersed in the story. This book left me feeling in the Christmas spirit, a perfect winter’s read.

Ok let’s talk about how much I loved this book. I read this over a few days where work was so hectic, escaping to a fall and winter scene scape where there were giant families that mirror my own was much welcome. I fell in love with both the main characters right away. Liberty being the youngest and how her family acted towards her was spot on, myself being the middle child I totally get it. This book had me warm and fuzzy and ready for the holidays. I had no idea it was a stand alone book that’s part of a series I can’t wait to read the rest of the books.

Snowflakes and Stockings by Marianne Rice a sweet and seasonal five-star read. This was great if a little predictable at times, but it has all the makings of a great story. Santa brings opposites together ! Liberty an investigative reporter is all set to find out who is the secret Santa in the town. She narrows down on Sawyer Campbell, a joint owner of a tech firm. But Sawyer is someone who could be technically called the “opposite of Santa”, He is strictly business like , and not very good at family relations. Liberty is exactly the opposite, warm, caring, loving. Now when they two meet, sparks fly between them but the differences also stand out between them. Can they resolve these differences and make their relationship work?
It is nice romantic story with a christmasy feel to it. A good way to head towards the holiday season !

Snowflakes and Stockings – Winston Hills Christmas book 4 – Marianne Rice – October 2021

As the weather starts to turn a little colder outside, I am so excited to start reading Christmas stories snuggled inside my fluffy blankets. While this was my first Winston Hills Christmas book as well as my first Marianne Rice book, I am in love with not only her writing style but the characters, the story, and the feel-good vibes she has created inside the world of Winston Hills. Since finishing this story, I can’t wait to go back and check out the first 3 as well as the other stories she has written.

When I look for a story to capture my attention, I look for how well the story is written. Does the story flow well or does it feel choppy? Are the characters believable? Can I relate to not only the main storyline but does the back story of the characters seem to fit with the current story being told? I also look at the length of the book. Is this a story I can read easily in a few days between carpool lines and quiet evenings after my daughter goes to bed? Beyond the mechanics of the book, I also look for a story that is going to leave me feeling uplifted as if I just escaped the stress of my everyday life and was transported to a different world. I enjoy books from multiple genres so I look for books to help me enjoy an adventure into a world I may never get to visit.

When I first stumbled on to the synopsis of Snowflakes and Stockings, I saw the other reviews that mentioned: “It is just like a Hallmark Christmas Movie” over and over again, and while that might feel like a been there done that storyline, Marianne creates such a magical world inside the Winston Hills series that it doesn’t feel like every other Christmas Romance book or movie out there. She takes these two main characters, Liberty and Sawyer, and tells a story of redemption, work-life balance, the importance of family connections, and love. Liberty is out to make her big break as an investigative reporter and Sawyer is helping to run his father’s company. The spark between these two is evident from the very first meeting and continues to grow throughout the rest of the story. There are a few bumps along the way but life has a way of being bumpy when we are working towards our goals especially when fate throws a curveball when we are least expecting it.

I try not to give out 5 start reviews too often as to not dilute the WOW factor a 5-star review brings, but Marianne Rice totally deserves it for this book. What a wonderful way to kick off my Holiday Reading for 2021!

Marianne Rice really had me going into her romance Snowflakes and Stockings, but I fell in love three quarters of the way through when she referred to Italian Sauces as “Gravy.” Having a heavy Italian background in my family that was what I heard growing up, but I’ve been looked at as I was crazy calling it that but I digress.
Back to the story between Sawyer and Liberty! Liberty, tasking herself with finding out who Maine’s Secret Santa is, never thought the quest would change her life. Sawyer, a workaholic eligible bachelor, never made time for anyone in his life, till his eyes landed on Liberty.
Coming from a “ broken home” myself, I understand both Sawyer and Liberty’s lives and family dynamic. I was always one to throw myself in my work as well. I feel at home reading this book and want to be part of their lives!
In an idyllic holiday setting in Maine no less, dreaming of a white Christmas yet, I can imagine how beautiful it all must be. This is the first book in this series I read, so now I have to go back and read books 1-3, to see if I love them as much as this 1!

This book gave me the same warm and fuzzy vibes as watching a sweet Hallmark movie. Just comforting and wholesome. Liberty is a journalist on a mission to find the Secret Santa who has been making donations at Christmas time, and Sawyer is on her list. At first glance Sawyer is smitten. They’re both workaholics, but while Liberty has a big family she’s close with, Sawyer quickly realizes what little life he has outside the office. I loved them both. I loved Liberty’s family. I read this book without realizing that there were three others that came before it! It obviously works well as a standalone novel, which is great. Marianne Rice did a fantastic job with this book and the characters and interactions were always the perfect tones. Liberty absolutely had all the spunk of a journalist attempting to advance her career and the youngest sibling in her really stood out on the page. She’s a workaholic – which is evident from the very first chapter. This spoke volumes. She didn’t attempt to hide from her work or blow it off because she met a guy – and that is TRULY appreciated here. Sawyer is the big man at his (and his father’s) company and never takes the time to eat, let alone have a relationship or even a friendship. The fact that he and Liberty get along so well from the start and allowed their interactions to get better over time was heartwarming and made the story that much more believable. I loved the family scenes and appreciated how each individual had their own personality. This book really jumped out in my head like a movie and I respect any author that can make me visualize every page. The secret Santa aspect was unlike any holiday romance novel (or movie) I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying and I look forward to reading more from Ms. Rice in the future.

What a sweet, endearing story that is right up my ally. I love a book that is holiday themed with love and family. We meet Liberty, who is driven in her career as a reporter. She works to achieve promotional goals. Liberty decides to investigate whom the “Secret Santa” is in town and she believe’s Sawyer Campbell is it. When Liberty interviews Sawyer to see if maybe he is the true town “Secret Santa”, sparks fly and my heart totally melts. Getting to know Sawyer, whom works with his father at a big company, he does not have time to enjoy the pleasures of life, he is all business. When Sawyer spends more time with Liberty, he really enjoys her company and getting to know her and her big family. Will Liberty find what she is looking for in her investigation for the promotion she has been working so hard to get? Or will the heart want what Liberty and Sawyer share their love for each other?

I love small town feel of this book. The story really made my heart swoon!

Snowflakes and Stockings is one of the most amazing books that I have read this year. Full of family, unexpected love, and even a secret Santa. Ms. Rice gives us great word building, a lovely plot, and great characters. Liberty is a fantastic journalist who has been trying to uncover the secret Santa in her little home town in Main that donates to food pantries, poor families, and other charities around the city. But will she reveal the secret Santa when she finds him? Sawyer is a smart, attractive, and succeful man, who doesn’t have time for a love life. But what happens when Liberty comes into his life? Will Sawyer make room for Liberty in his life? Will he love spending time with her big chatoic family? You’ll have to read Snowflakes & Stockings to find out for yourself.

Snowflakes and Stockings is the first book I’ve read from Marianne Rice and I am thrilled that I experienced her writing. This was truly a book that felt like it wrapped me in a warm blanket, with a cup of coffee on a cold, winter day. I felt at peace reading this and devoured the book in just a couple hours. I loved the characters and the safety of family that it gave me. Not only were the two main characters, Sawyer and Liberty, the supporting characters were all loving as well.
Liberty is an investigative journalist, who’s main goal to win a much deserved promotion, is to hunt down the Secret Santa who has been delivering presents to well deserving children and families for the past several holiday seasons. Her leads take her to meet Sawyer, a Fortune 500 tech company co-owner. Through this meeting of two incredibly job driven people, they find time for each other and come to a new appreciation of finding those who make you want to become a better person.
I simply loved this story. Highly recommend to all who like a good, clean romance with a strong family dynamic.

Snowflakes & Stockings is a great contemporary romance by Marianne Rice. This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to read more now as I really enjoyed Snowflakes & Stockings.
Investigative journalist Liberty Johnson has a big story to crack. Find out who Maine’s Secret Santa is and she will get a big promotion. Having narrowed it down to a few she meets the last potential Sawyer Campbell and is convinced it’s not him. As they spend more time together she takes hum under her family’s wing as he seems to be a loner who needs a family around him. I really loved the camaraderie among Liberty’s family. There is such an amazing support network between them but on the other hand they love to rib and tease each other.
I loved Liberty and Sawyer’s story. They are both amazing characters that I immediately fell in love with. Liberty is a force to be reckoned with, a whirlwind constantly on the go. Sawyer is a sweetheart. I really need a Sawyer in my life.
If you love a great romance set around the Christmas theme then Snowflakes & Stockings is the book for you.
