I just wanted to lick the cover and make it mine 😱🔥🤣🤷‍♀️🙈

Naseer and Jade are a couple you’ll either love , hate or love to hate 🤣😉🙈I know there were times that they irritated me a little but their strong points outshone those weak moments 🥰

Naseer is a a grumpy , miserable but delectable speciMAN and it would seem he had a weak spot where Jade is concerned because let’s face it how does one resist this kind , loving and beautiful girl ?

Both have been through a lot and have scars but they’re each others healing balm and darn it they kept me on my toes 🤣 but they’ve got a special place in my heart 😉

This hits some of my favourite troupes forbidden romance, grumpy man sunshine girl and age gap romance. Nasser is a very frustrating character but he is the comfort and support that Jade needs. I was so on edge reading this book and could not put it down no matter how frustrated I got.

This is book 1 of Jade. An age gap romance of 2 people that were never meant to be together. Nasser was broken and lost and only Jade seemed to be able to pull him back to the land of the living. Jade was broken in her own ways. Together they find what they each need even though everyone tries to keep them apart. It was a good story with a compelling story. This story will continue in book 2.

Jade: Hidden Scars
By: A. Akinosho

This book was very good. It features Jade and Naseer. Naseer is a prince – which means he should have it all money, looks, royalty. But his life is far from easy. He has been injured in an accident and he has no interest in being the bachelor he was.
Jade is a young teenager who is also not going through the easiest period of her life. Their paths cross and the rest is in this book. I don’t want to spoil it. Jade and Naseer were both well written and they had undeniable chemistry from the time they met. This is definitely a forbidden lovers romance and I loved every second of it. I definitely recommend picking this story up!

Naseer was a bad boy playboy until one faithful night when he had a horrendous motorcycle accident trying to piece his life back together is difficult until one night a chance meeting and three little words changed the course of his life forever.

Jade was lost in a world with no one, after her parents died she was lost in a world trying to make sense of it all, until one chance meeting with Naseer changed her life forever.

But will the worlds they live in try and keep them apart?

This is the first book I have read by this author and although it had me gripped with the initial story I felt it lingered on to long. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts and the interaction between the two was brilliant to read. I loved the frustration that Naseer held with Jade as only an older person could with a younger naïve views but this added to the drama of the story.

The frustrating part for me was his father and although you want your children to follow your wishes for him to subject them both to the drive to pull them apart added to the overall drama of the book, aswell as the secondary characters. This book was brilliant to read and leaves you wanting more at the end. I can’t wait to read book 2 in this series.

Slow burn. Growth. Twists. This is the first book I have read by the undeniably talented A Akinosho. While at first, I was iffy on the age gap between a sixteen- and twenty-six-year-old, the fact that the book covered years made it more understandable and a clear love story to overcome all. That said the book was not illicit but more of a Romeo and Juliet type story. The dual perspectives of Naseer and Jade take you on a rollercoaster of friendship turned more.
Naseer is one of the Princes of Rhanaz. A race challenge with his best friend Brian lands him in several casts and bedridden for months. While Naseer had fully isolated himself from his friends he had become very angry, helpless feeling and completely hopeless, until. Jade (Mariam) at the age of sixteen had her entire world crash down around her. Her parents killed in a house fire, leaving her friends, and moving to a new country, and starting over at a new school as the one percent of the one percent for the poor girl in the school. When she first meets Naseer it’s an accident she needed to pee and accidentally found his room and couldn’t wait. In a moment of surprise to himself Naseer says three words that start the epic love story. “Sit with me” that’s all it took for them to both find someone to bring smiles back into their lives. After losing her parents Jade questioned if she could join them and Naseer questioned why he was still alive after the horrific accident. Jade gave him the biggest gift, Hope. He gave her someone she could drop her shield around and finally feel at peace and things be easy. Unfortunately, darker forces were against them and over the course of high school to college everything would change and change again.
Who are the dark forces that are determined to keep them apart? Can they find a way back to each other? The emotions behind the characters are real and deep. I felt my heart break for Jade at the news of her parents. My heart ached for Naseer when he felt hopeless time and time again as the world and dark forces found every way to stop him from being happy. The moment hope was restored the book ended and I instantly stared into space ready for book two. What secrets will be revealed and will Naseer and Jade finally get there happily ever after? Book two Jade: Chances are available now; I’ll see you there.

Hidden Scars (Jade #1)Hidden Scars by A. Akinosho
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a real page turner, with likeable and relatable characters and an intriguing storyline which kept me captivated throughout. Nasser and Jade meet when they are both a little lost and broken, Nasser’s days of being an alpha are over and he’s resigned himself to staying hidden, whilst Jade is the girl from the ‘other’ side. When Nasser says to Jade “Sit with Me”, everything changes for them both, but Jade always knew it would only be temporary as she was the girl everyone thought was unworthy of him, however, Nasser had other ideas. This romance was full of drama and suspense and the storyline took me on an emotional rollercoaster. The chemistry between Nasser and Jade sizzled off the page and I loved the forbidden element of their story. As this is the first book in a series I look forward to seeing how their relationship develops.

Reading Jade (Hidden Scars) by A. Akinosho (who im reading for the first time) I enjoyed it. The age gap ages kinda threw me at first being 16 and 26 but it turned out okay. Other than that it was good, it’s filled with drama, insecurities, healing, hope and jealousy from outside sources trying to keep them apart. It was a decent size read for me, about 350 pages. Though I read it in one day because I didn’t want to put it down at all, even though it put me through an emotional rollercoaster ride. I’m already about to go read the second one right now tbh 😂 i already got it from kindle unlimited. I can’t wait to read it, especially with the cliffhanger. I need to know what happens. I hope the next ones doesn’t also lmao 😣 😂 I need more from this awesome author.

Jade: Hidden Scars: A Forbidden Age-Gap Romance (Book 1) by A. Akinosho – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

I didn’t want to put this book down. It is the first in the series and the first book I have read by this author. I have a question for you: Have you ever fallen in love with someone that you know you aren’t destined to be with? Jade is a senior in high school when she meets Naseer (who is tens years older). Can their love be real? There is a lot of fighting with her family and his family because they are from different worlds. No one really knows how their love is there but as you read, you will feel it. I despise Naseer’s father and the so-called Princess Nadra who are insisting on Naseer to give up Jade. Despite all of the fighting and hiding can Jade and Naseer really make it or are they destined to end up unhappy with others. I still don’t know and I need to read the next book to find out just like you do. I promise this book is not one to put down. Now I am going to get book 2.

Naseer and Jade meet by chance at a time in their lives when they really need each other. Naseer was in a bad motorcycle accident and Jade had just lost both of her parents. There is a pretty large age gap between these two. As they spend more time together there is no denying the chemistry. Their relationship is very up and down and after a few years they decide to make a go at being romantically involved. There are people working against their relationship and it’s making it that much more difficult. This story follows as they both grow older and mature. You don’t get to find out the outcome because you get left on a bit of a cliffhanger. There are a couple of twists and turns and they definitely have some obstacles to overcome. I enjoyed reading this story. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Hidden Scars (Jade #1)Hidden Scars by A. Akinosho
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Jade series. And wow what a read. This book has so many elements that I love in a romance. It had a strong alpha male, attraction that is off the charts, 2 Wounded souls desperately trying to heal, there is a bit of a forbidden element as well as Naseer is from a wealthy background and Jade is from the opposite but they work so well together.
This is Jade and Naseers story.
Naseer is a rich and popular alpha male, he has the world at his feet, he could date any woman he wanted and his life was on a upward track that is until a accident left him trapped in a bed. His life was spiraling out of control and he was contemplating not wanting to be here anymore that is until he meets Jade.

Jade is going through a traumatic time at the moment. With the loss of her parents she is struggling to find her way in her new life and new school. Struggling with grief and finding a way to work through it the last thing she wanted or expected was to find love and especially not with someone who is as horrible, moody and self centered as Naseer is.

These two people are just 2 broken souls each dealing with their own traumas and the effects that is having in their life’s but what is so beautiful is how much more peace they feel when they are together.
This is a beautiful moving story filled with ups and downs, highs and lows as they both come to terms with their new lives and what it actually means for them. With all the odds stacked against them do they even stand a chance?
I can’t wait to see how this series will progress and how the the relationship between Naseer and Jade changes and develops.

Jade and Naseer were a lot of like but very different. Jade had recently moved to Rhanaz with her aunt and uncle when she became orphaned. Prince Naseer had recently been in a motorcycle accident which left him bedridden and seemed to turn his thought darker than they already were. When Jade ended up in his home she came across him while looking for the bathroom. He hadn’t been letting anyone in to visit him, not even his best friends, but something about Jade made him ask her to sit with him. She was able to pull him out of the darkness he was being sucked into and their bond started to become stronger, their friendship grew, and their attraction to one another certainly became romantic. He being of royal blood and she being a commoner, his father has issues with their blossoming relationship. Even though he could see with his very own eyes that Jade was doi g Naseer good, he was plotting a way to get rid of her for good. Although they fought like any normal couple, maybe a bit more due to the age difference, they were determined to be together. I did enjoy this book and if you pick it up I hope you do as well. I did find it slow going at first but once the story picked up and started flowing it was hard to put down. I look forward to seeing what kind of growth the characters have and how their relationship progresses in book two.

Jade: Hidden Scars by A Akinosho is a story about Jade a Naseer. This forbidden age gap story starts with an accidental meeting that will change everything. They are both utterly broken but help to heal each other. Even when everyone else is trying to tear them apart. The immaturity and gullibility of the FMC is to be expected from a sixteen-year-old even if it can be a bit frustrating. Overall, this was a great story and an easy and quick read. Looking forward to book 2. 4 out of 5 Stars.

Hidden Scars (Jade #1)Hidden Scars by A. Akinosho
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Both Jade and Naseer are dealing with grief (albeit in their own ways) when their paths cross in a bar. Jade seems to be the bright spot that Naseer is missing in his life. However, she is the girl from the wrong side of the tracks and he is the older man with his future planned out for him. Everyone seems to be against them…so is there even a chance that their relationship could survive?

This story starts of a tad slow. But, once they meet…it takes off from there. It is a good against the odds story…but it is filled with grief and trauma, humor and love, and some angst and drama. It does end with a cliffhanger….so I will be checking out what happens next!

Jade: Hidden Scars: A Forbidden Age-Gap Romance is the first book in this series. A story of second chances, forbidden love and those who want to keep them a part.
Naseer and Jade’s journey is a twisty road to love. They are both broken. They are from two different worlds; two different cultures and he is much older than she is. But with scheming and plotting to destroy them and keep them apart do they even stand a chance.
There are characters that are likable and some you would like to smack them and others you would like to shake because of their naivety and childishness. I found it a little hard to connect fully with them making it hard to truly lose myself in the story.
A. Akinosho writes a tale that has healing, strength, secrets, lies, insecurities, jealousy, drama, angst, betrayal, frustrations, hopes, dreams and let’s not forget those conspiring against them.
Give it a go because you never know you may fall in love with it.

This is not one of my favorite books. I honestly put it down and picked it back up and intervals muscling my way through it.
Trigger warning * Normally the age gap doesn’t bother me but when the characters are portrayed childlike and the other an adult it was hard to get past. I know culturally these things can be acceptable but it was hard to get through.

It didn’t flow as easily for me as other books have. A grumpy / sunshine styled love that showcases both strengths and weaknesses of characters great. Struggling through their pain Naseen and Jade unite and triumph over the unfairness of life and build a flourishing bond that is very sweet to see.

3 -3.5 Stars

Hidden Scars is the first book in the Jade series by A. Akinosho. This is the first instalment in Naseer and Jade’s story- where two damaged souls find a connection that changes both their lives. With a bit of a forbidden element, an age gap, grumpy/sunshine factor, grief, drama, angst, different worlds/opposites attract, family/family complications/meddling, insecurities, jealousy, tension, pain/baggage, darker tones, secrets, and challenges.
This had all the ingredients that I normally look for to drag me into a story and hold me in its grasp- but I just couldn’t find my ‘groove’ with this one. I also found it really hard to connect with the characters, which made it hard to immerse myself in their story, or invest in them and the outcome. I found myself really annoyed and frustrated with them, and myself- a lot. There seemed to be quite a lot of info dumping/repetition and niggly vibes that kept interrupting the flow of the story- continually pulling me out of the storyline.
I have enjoyed Ms. Akinosho’s writing in the past, so maybe I was just having an ‘off’reading session this time around.
The story ends on a cliffhanger, and is set to continue in Book #2- so I am hoping that things will fall into place for me there.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, A. Akinosho!

Naseer does something that leaves him angry and distancing himself from anyone who was close to him. Jade has had her life uprooted and is living in a new place with an empty heart. While working on a class project she meets Naseer, two broken souls find themselves connecting and Naseer realizes she is his one. This is the story of their journey of finding one another and what happens next.

Overall great idea for a story. This is the first part of Jade and Naseer’s story. There are so many facets to their relationship and you want to know more about this couple. I thought Naseer was a bit spoiled in the beginning but he makes up for his behavior later. Jade was an intriguing character who becomes a very strong woman. I would be curious as to what happens next.

He’s a beast to all …. but for her, he cages his beast.

Naseer

My days of being an alpha are long gone. I’d resigned myself to staying hidden forever.

Out of nowhere, she walks in. Surprising us both, I asked her to “Sit with Me.” Three words that would change everything.

I would later realize that the universe had slowed me down, then gave me a second chance and that second chance came with Jade by my side. Like I told my dad, “I would destroy a thousand men for Jade.”

No one gets it. Jade is a need that I cannot do without.

Jade

“Sit with Me,” he said. Little did I know those three words would be the beginning of us.

Subconsciously, I knew the word “US” would only be temporary because I’m the girl from the other side, and they all consider me unworthy of him.

The beast is the one that makes my heart thump.

Unfortunately, the beast is forbidden.

I’m blessed enough to work in a library at a local primary school so I had the opportunity to share Kingston and his friend with my little friend and there’s a bonus they have you get siblings so you can just imagine the stories that were swooped put amongst ourselves 🤣

Kingston has such a love for dogs and when mummy shows him other animals and calls them “ dog” she starts to worry just a little as any mother would and I just wanted to grab her hand and say “ don’t worry mum , he calls everything he loves dog “ 😉 and their journey of discovery is quite the adventure 🥰

I love how we get to meet different animals , breeds , shapes and sizes 😍 I loved the old colours ! A real treat 📚🥰

This is a really lovely book that tells the love story of two people, Noah and Ebun.

Romance is hard. Love is difficult. What happens when you throw in a multiple cultures, threats, betrayal, death, suspense, and feelings of not being enough? You get a roller-coaster that is well worth the ride. This lovely story starts with the first chance meeting of Noah and Ebun in an airport, and their subsequent meetings after until they find love in each other’s hearts. While this was a little bit slower to read, it was absolutely beautiful and worth every minute!
