Aiko (The Heartstrings Series Book 1) by Brooke May – Review by Mirela Ruiz

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Aiko by Brooke May was a sweet and comical quick read! I would give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I could not stop thinking of Murphy’s Law while reading this book. Anything that could go wrong did go wrong for Aiko and Alejandro. Aiko slowly reveals her past and I could not stop my mind from trying to connect dots. I kept my fingers crossed for Alejandro the whole time!

Aiko (The Heartstrings Series #1) by Brooke May – Review by Sarah Oakes

Aiko (Heartstrings Book 1)Aiko by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great read about trying again. Aiko is a cupid that always seems to cause disaster. After so long of being a disappointment to her family, she is surprised when they give her another chance. She is given the assignment of a man called Alejandro who is unlucky in love. She struggles at first but soon finds her feet. But when things get complicated, can she achieve the impossible?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Aiko with her resilience but self doubts underneath or Alejandro stubborn but caring underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the understanding Briella or the supportive Mala or the critcisng Seraphina.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the sense of colour throughout witg the pink dresses or purple eyes or red kimono bold and vibrant and eye catching and wonderfully written. Or the sense of up the cupids home with its clouds and gates for a sense of magic and mystery. Or the colourful scenes at the start with the bright tulips and beautiful garden and the music for the feel or romance gone wrong.
A great example of world building with a series of fantasy creatures coexisting alongside humanity with their own rules and laws and societies. I loved the use of the cupids as something different than other fabtays novels using angels. These were given the respect they deserve and true to their Greek origins. I also enjoyed the tale of an unsuccessful cupid, adding a sense of humanity to the character and making her struggles emotive. I also loved the hints to history like the library and troy adding a historical side to the novel, a wonderful addition. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Aiko was a wonderful read; it was funny, romantic and had likeable characters in it. It was an easy story to read and it didn’t take me long to get into it at all. I really liked Aiko, I thought she was such a great character to read about – she hadn’t had the best luck in the past with her job as cupid but I could tell straight away that it wasn’t going to be that way with her new assignment!
The author got it spot on with the world building in this story – her richly detailed writing definitely made the story come alive and I really did fall for the characters.
Aiko was a fantastic, light hearted read that I loved from beginning to end! This isn’t the first book that I have read by this author but it is definitely one of my favourites! I can’t wait to read more from Ms May again in the future!

Aiko (Heartstrings Book 1) by Brooke May

Aiko was a great 5 star read (Romantic Comedy). Brooke has once again pulled me right in with her writing and I really enjoyed it. This is a quick read and you will be done before you know it.

Aiko doesn’t have the best reputation as a cupid, in fact she is considered the worst cupid ever. When she is assigned to Alejandro things get interesting, she is supposed to help him find his match.

Will she be able to help him find the one or will she fall for him herself?

Overall I really enjoyed this read, I had several LOL moments and twist and turns. The Cupid’s Law also had me LOL. I really liked Aiko and Alejandro, they were so lovable. All the secondary characters were great as well. The detail in this book is amazing, you feel like your right there with the characters. I can’t wait to read more from the series. If you’re looking for a fun romantic comedy this is the book for you. 1-click and get started today.

Aiko (The Heartstrings Series Book 1) by Brooke May

5-Stars

Aiko is the first book in the Heartstrings series and was an interesting read. Aiko is a Cupid who has a rocky and colorful past. She is assigned to Alejandro to help him find his match. Alejandro has a hard time with romance but has a way with animals. The two made for an invigorating read.

I loved the banter between the two main characters and also the different dates they worked through. Aiko was very to the point and Al was full of sarcasm. This book was easy to read and I could not put it down. I was at the end before I realized it. I highly recommend this fun and romantic read. I can’t wait to read more in this series. I loved it.

Aiko by Brooke May was a sweet sassy funny take on a second chance Cupid. Aiko is looking to redeem herself for being a bad cupid. Her next assignment is going to be a good one. Alejandro has the looks but not a romantic bone in his body; he is in need of some help.

Brooke writing just pulls you in and fills your heart with goodness. Perfect name for this series “Heartstrings” because it pulls right on them. Each chapter has a Cupid’s Law and they are hilarious. If you’re looking for a sweet romance for your next read then this is the book for you.

An amazing take on cupid! I really enjoyed this story. Its light, quick but still has the air of a romance about not for the main character.
Aiko is a cupid, but she has a way of causing teoible wherever she goes. They’ve made many amendments to their laws due to Aiko. I felt for her and that made watching what happens all the better.

This was a great read and I cant wait to read more from this series.

Trying to figure out why this is my first book by this author, and deciding that I need to check out what else she has.

This was totally awesome…I’ve read some pretty heavy twisting and turning kind of books lately and when I saw this I had to have it. Picking this book up was one of the best things I’ve done reading wise in a while. It was completely perfect for what I needed. Fun, light, and it had a perfect flow that made it so easy to read in a little under 2 hours.

I love so many things about this book but I think the laws were my favorite especially when they had edits LOL Aiko was completely awesome and I could completely relate to her for some reason, I guess because in a lot of ways I’m a hot mess most of the time and just fell in love with her. So much of her past made me laugh and since this is a series I’m praying she is the star that we are following through this series but her sisters also fascinate me so I wouldn’t be too heartbroken if they got their stories told as well.

I’ll admit the end kind of made me tear up..The whole not remembering after the tether was gone was sad but the ending was still perfection and I can’t recommend this book enough.

Give it a shot, you won’t be sorry!

One hundred percent loved this book! Usually this type of book might be a wait and see for me given the Cupid theme that sometimes can just be overdone for me. Can I tell you how glad I was to have picked this up? What a fantastic surprise! Quirky, sassy, funny – Aiko literally left me laughing. This book is fresh and clever and just an absolute gem. I loved every page and cannot wait to see how the series continues!

Aiko (Heartstrings Book 1) by Brooke May was a fun, engaging, pulling read that had me hooked in seconds!

Oh my, this book was something else I tell you. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much pure fun reading a romantic book before. Witty, funny, sassy, this book has a little bit of everything, while carrying this light hearted tone that you can’t help but fall into. Akio was on hell of a special kind of MC, and I loved every minute of it. There are few MC’s that I love right away, and even less that I would want to actually meet in real life, Aiko though, Aiko is my girl. There’s just something about her that I connected to, and I believe that just made this book for me, all the more enjoyable.

Overall this little wonder packs a punch and it will get your feels, funny bone and eyes rolling. The detail will pull you in, but the characters will have you staying the night. The richness that this world brings, as well as well researched mythology, will spark a new kind of interest. This book is truly one of a kind.

With that said please take my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval ,that you will get lost in this magical weird world of love, war, and sass.

Happy Reading

Super cute, clean, fun, awkward, charming, and romantic.

This is a fast read with a very clear direction (although I did think it was going to go a certain way for a whlle) and it was easy to follow along. Each character plays a vital role in the story and there is no filler taking up space.

AIKO is one of those books that I would recommend to lovers of any romance, including an elderly book club.

I look forward to the next installment of “The Heartstrings Series ”

I have never read anything by Brooke May before and i wasn’t disappointed by this book. I’m a hue sucker for romantic comedy! This book had me laughing out loud and that’s something that isn’t easy to come by.

Aiko is the WORST cupid EVER! She is literally a disaster and then some. She has an assignment…Alejandro. He’s sweet and loving but his love life is also a disaster. The things that follow will have you rolling! Love this book and cannot wait for the rest.

Aiko by Brooke May is the first book in the Heartstrings series. This is only the second book that I have read by this author and I have loved every single page. I found this to be such a unique and interesting story – a unique take on a relatively saturated myth.
I loved Aiko. I found her to be utterly thrilling. Her whole story was interesting and engaging. I was completely sucked in by her story and devoured the whole book in one sitting.
I could not recommend this book enough and I am very much looking forward to seeing what is next to come.

I enjoyed this story. I was pulled in right from the start and it held my attention to the end. The characters are well developed and I enjoyed watching their story grow throughout the book. They are connectable and made the story seem real and come alive. Aiko was exiled forty years ago but now she is back and is given a second chance as Cupid. She has a new assignment plus she has the world’s survival on her shoulders. What couple possibly happen? I highly recommend this book.

Aiko- Brooke May

4-stars

Aiko by Brooke May is a truly one of a kind read! I’ve read a few books by this author but honestly this one is my favourite by far! This is the first book in the Heartstrings series, and it follows Aiko, a cupid who has an impossible love assignment after a long period away from work.

Aiko’s story is funny, witty, detailed, intriguing and truly captivating. It’s a shorter read that I was able to read in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to put it down. There was so much detail and the story flowed seamlessly!

I can’t wait to continue this series ASAP, this one of a kind read is one I would recommend to anyone!

The story Aiko (The Heartstrings Series Book 1) by Brooke May is a romantic comedy. It drew me in from the very beginning and I found myself lost in the book. There are moments that I was smiling as well as laughing out loud. There are other moments that were touching. I loved reading about the characters of Aiko and Alejandro Gomez. Aiko could be given the title of worst cupid ever. Her past is littered with disaster. What will happen when she is given Alejandro as her new assignment? Alejandro is a man who is kind, caring, and has a generous heart. His love life is a different matter altogether. Read this book to find out what happens. Aiko and Alejandro are characters that are likable, and I grew to care about. The author has created a story that is entertaining, wonderful to read, and has unforgettable characters. I would highly recommend reading it.

Romance author Brooke May spends her days writing whatever her overactive imagination has brewed up and her evenings reading while she works alongside her mom. Telling stories is second natural to her, from a young age she has told anyone who would listen what she had thought up. Now, a mom of two, she splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and of course, hiking, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in her beloved Bighorn Mountains.

While on maternity leave with her youngest, Brooke was putting laundry away when she looked at a poem she had written in high school that was framed in her son’s bedroom. That poem triggered the idea of My Cowboy and soon she was sitting in front of her computer with her infant next to her writing her first love story that wasn’t a fanfiction.
