This book really tugged at my heartstrings. Sasha is such an amazing, spirited woman. It doesn’t take long for Arnaud to realize that he has finally met his match. I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of this book, where they had to work together to search for clues to lead them to the key. Watching Arnaud and Sasha grow closer and see the sparks fly between the two of them was magical. It was so heart rending to find out more about the health struggles that Sasha is facing and not being sure where the story will lead. The ending was absolutely worth the tears shed on the way there. I am so excited to read the next book in this series and learn more about Theo and his backstory.

This is my first book by Alix Nichol’s and I absolutely adored it. This book has such a delightful array of characters, and the story itself is original and well developed.
Max and Lucie make quite the pair!! They start off the Royal series with a bang.
Lucie gets a job in Paris working for Max and it all starts off from there. Max is an undercover Prince and a man on a mission, and that is where Lucie comes in because he hires her to assist with his project. Lucie finds Max downright sexy and is happy for the job, but still curious as to why her. Lucie is smart and independent and is very much a match to Max. As these 2 embark on their mission you cant help but get sucked in. The story unfolds with plenty of mystery, steamy chemistry, flirtation, and banter that will keep you smiling until the end.

A cute and romantic read! This Alix Nichols series is one that you do not want to miss out on.
Sasha and Arnaud seem an unlikely pair, but once together you can feel the connection between them. Sasha is a journalist trying to find the truth regarding a royal mystery, Arnaud is a plastic surgeon who recently finds his loyal lineage, and must find a missing key to save his country. These 2 come together to solve this complex mystery with each bringing their own separate knowledge to the table. This story is fun, steamy, and humorous. The Playboy find his match and he shows her that he sees her for all that she is and isn’t willing to let her go.

The Bastard Prince (It’s Raining Royals) by Alix Nichols was a great addition to this series but I must say to make sure you read the first novel in this series as they do connect to each other. Once again Alix Nichols gives us a sexy but sweet romance filled with great characters, mystery, intrigue, and so much more. While there are some super steamy scenes between our main characters it is really more sweet and intimate then most romances that you will read, but personally I love the combination of mystery with romance. But the question is will our beloved characters find what they need to save Mount Evor? You’ll have to read The Bastard Prince by Alix Nichols to find out.

I really enjoyed book #2 of Arnaud and Sasha in this series. Sasha is a reporter trying to find the next big story while trying to battle kidney disease, Arnaud is the 2nd son of the late prince and a plastic surgeon. Arnaud finds he has family that he did not know and learned that his father was the late prince of Mount Evor. When Arnaud is tasked to find the 2nd secret key he has to team up with Sasha all while trying to evade the evil Kurt, whom wants Mount Evor to fall and find the keys for himself. Will Sasha and Arnaud find the 2nd key while sparks fly between them? I loved the puzzle behind the story, different areas and landmarks they may have to search in France. Great Read and I am so looking forward to book # 3 with Theo and his story!!

The Bastard Prince (It's Raining Royals, #2)The Bastard Prince by Alix Nichols
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This novella is a continuing tale in the Raining Royals Series. The Bastard Prince being book two follows Arnaud, a plastic surgeon who doesn’t know he is a prince. When he learns he is he almost doubts it. Ever the playboy he does have a liaison outside the main characters and it does make his character a little less lovable.
Sasha is an instantaneous love for me. Challenged with a disability that she doesn’t let get in her way, she works hard for what she has and she goes at life with spunk and curiosity. Being a reporter that curiosity is probably a necessity but the author makes it feel more like a natural trait than a must have due to vocation.
This installment in the Raining Royals is more charming and tender than the first book which gave us a steamy love affair with Max and Lucie. This ends as the first did with a HEA and a continuing arc for the next tale in the series. I do look forward to reading it.
So why did I give this four starts instead of five if I liked it so much? As a nurse I see people with the condition Sasha has and I feel like the author could have put a bit more research into it to make it more believable. However if you are not in the medical field or have never dealt with a kidney condition you probably wouldn’t notice this. Now on to book three!!

This novella is charming, fun, a bit mystical and definitely worth a read. The main characters Max and Lucie go on some daring escapades to find the keys and save Max’s hidden gem of a kingdom. Lucie does not know he is the Prince so that makes for some interesting double talk.
This little page turner has a little of everything, intrigue, mystery, suspense, action, adventure, steamy romance, fun, flirty and another royal falling for a commoner. It is filled with a vast amount of information that I wonder if it is important to the continuing tale. If it is kudos for putting so much work into making a much larger story from a series of smaller easy reads.
This story is the beginning of a continuing tale of a secretive mystery that has yet to be solved. I look forward to book two which I am starting NOW!

I am officially so excited for Alix Nichols! I was kind of excited after book 1, The Boss Prince, but now I am so excited!! The writing style got better, the plot was wonderful, and the spice is very nice!

Following Sasha, the second Key to the Key, and Arnaud through their scavenger hunt was so much fun! Not only was Sasha witty and charming, she was incredibly smart. Arnaud went through some great developments while searching for the key with Sasha. I am so happy and cannot wait for book 3! Alex Nichols keeps getting better!!

This is such a charming story. I really enjoyed reading The Boss Prince. It was so much fun seeing places in France mentioned that I have actually been to. It lends such a charm to this story and the humor coming from both Max and Lucie lends a touch of realism to their journey. Too often books leave humor out, and there were so many moments in this book that made me laugh and think that totally sounds like something I could see myself saying or thinking. This is such a fun, romantic, mysterious book and the hidden world that the author, Alix Nicho created is just fascinating! I’m really excited to read the other books in this series and see how things unfold with Mount Evor.

Sasha and Arnaud have the adventure of a lifetime. I am a fan of this series because it kind of reminds me of a rom-com version of the Davinci Code. The secrets, intrigue and mystery entwined with fun and steamy romance make this an enjoyable and quick read. Sasha’s sassy stubbornness makes her quite the character. Arnaud’s tenacity to stay with her makes him the perfect man. A perfect second book to this series that was just as good as the first. I eagerly await the next one. Highly recommend.

This series is like a quick read, rom com, version of the DaVinci Code or Angels and Demon’s. I love the treasure hunt and “hide and seek” aspect.

I admit to not liking Arnaud at the beginning. I’m not a fan of having one of the MC’s having intimate relations with another person than the other MC without reason and I didn’t feel that that aspect of the storyline was necessary for his background. However he grew on me, with his propensity to not use plastic surgery to completely alter someone but bring out a bit more of their beauty, and his compassion for (most) others.

Alexandra, aka Sasha, was a likable character, who comes with health issues and mental baggage from said issues. I enjoyed her still wanting to be a strong and independent woman despite her health issues bordering a disability for her. One note is that I didn’t completely believe her health issues. As I know someone who had a kidney transplant and the difficulties that comes with the healing I feel that the author took liberties. It pulled me out of the storyline here and there, but it’s not likely to be noticed by many others and didn’t distract from the overall story.

I enjoyed reading the push and pull between Arnaud and Sasha and each of them determining what to do about their attraction.

I also liked getting more glimpses into the Mount Evor prophecy and finding another key. The glimpses into the ruling family and the country is fascinating.

I really enjoyed this book – it was definitely funny and entertaining. I’ve not read anything by this author previously so it was a great introduction to them. I really liked Sasha, she was a fun character to read about and I loved the banter between her and Arnaud. I did feel for Arnaud at times, finding out about parts of his life that he never knew even existed. I liked the twists and turns in the story and Ms Nichols writing was exciting and captivating to read. I shall definitely be reading the first book in the series now!!

The Bastard Prince, the 2nd book in the It’s Raining Royals series by Alix Nichols was as entertaining as the first. I appreciate a good romance, but the author adds a sense of adventure by leading the main characters on a quest to find another key to save the kingdom of the secret county of Mount Evor.
In this book, we meet Arnaud and the women he was pointed out to meet and seek the key with, Sasha. Both characters have good backstories and personalities to match. Again, we are put into the fun of the hunt with the addition of added history of France. The author is definitely researching while writing to add to the overall affect the book has. It’s definitely a fun romance with a treasure hunt mixed with a history lesson. It’s a great series and I’m ready for the next book.

The Boss Prince: a royal romance with humour and suspense, is book one in the It’s Raining Royals series by Alix Nichols. This new to me author had a very easy and well laid out writing style, which was funny, light and a fantastic romantic comedy. Her characters were a delight to read about and the escapades were cleverly set and brilliantly delivered. Steamy rendezvous and laugh until it hurts humour is in abundance in this story. It was just a really light read that was a thrill a minute. A tantalising beginning to a series I know that I will easily escape into. 4 stars.

I really enjoyed the partnership of Sasha and Arnaud. They were well suited and deficits in their character was often filled by the other. Sasha’s medical issues was an interesting character development which gave some depth to her fierceness as a leading lady. I also enjoy the secrecy of Mont Ever and the hunt for the keys. The details of the family his also something well done in these books. The pain the characters experiences prior to meeting one another fuels the need to work together for finding the answers they seek. The overall story itself is good and I look forward to seeing how this storyline continues to unfold.

The Bastard Prince (It's Raining Royals, #2)The Bastard Prince by Alix Nichols
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really loved this concept of the book series, I had not read the previous but I most certainly will be going back to get what happened previously with the kingdom at stake! It was fascinating to read in more than ne way, there was intrigue, mystery, romance, how could I not be swept away in this novel?

I enjoyed the take on this story and the two main characters who get matched together basically for the royal adventure they partake in, were more than grand in one way! Sasha and Arnaud were two quite different souls at times, but needed one another more than one way, and, basically in more than one way meets the eye. I loved their chemistry and how their personalities matched! I felt for Arnaud in truth, I can relate in a different way, to being abandoned, and well in his case never knowing till know he was actually of royal blood. It would be a lot to take in! Sasha was wonderfully written as well, she has a health issue that was more complex than I thought at my first glance.

Together they must unravel a mystery than brings more than just a good future, if you will agree. Sometimes life brings people together for a different purpose at the time, but in the end, the true purpose can be revealed at the conclusion. Arnaud was at risk of losing his home, his kingdom. He needed help. And then we have Sasha, she needed a thing or person tp help her unravel the mystery. Winner winner chicken dinner! They needed each other to get what each wanted and to share in the same end result! Honestly this was an amazing team and I enjoyed reading till the very end. The pace was quick and easy to follow, I was very lost in the mystery of the key that could save the kingdom. As I said starting out result for the two of them joining together, may have an unexpected ending for both their hearts.

The writing was very well done. I enjoyed the mystery and the feelings of intrigue I received as I read though this wonderful novel. I was immersed greatly, and felt I was along the journey of the adventure at times with Arnaud and Sasha. I had a lot of fun reading this, and I will defiantly be reading the book(s) prior and most certainly future installments. Wonderful series, impressed me, and I highly recommend!

A cute royal, secret identity, semi-mystery, romance

This story has so many romance tropes in it, yet they all come together well to give an engaging romance novel, the first in a series. Kudos to Alix Nichols. A fairly quick and well paced read.

Boss Prince certainly gave an interesting take on the idea of a royal family. There’s a secret country and within the royal family is an “oracle” who tasked Prince Max with finding a woman who is “the key to the key,” whom will help lead the royal family to keeping their country safe, and hidden.

Once Max and Lucie are together their chemistry and attraction explode, despite them both knowing they should stay sway from the other, romantically at least.

Story ends well and sets up the next book with the continuation of trying to fulfill the prophecy and save their country from ruin.

I loved Lucie’s Aunt and Uncle. Their characters brought a bit of levity to the middle of the book and allowed us and Max to see a bit of background into who Lucie was outside of helping at her mom’s classic fan boutique.

I’m not really a fan of most of Max’s family as characters but I enjoyed how they helped the story move along and appreciate them for what they brought to the table.

This is book 2 in the Raining Royals series and it was just as good as the first one. These books are a great mix of romance and mystery as the Princes try to find all of the missing keys to unlock the vault that will save their kingdom. The characters are well written and I love Sasha’s character. With all the odds stacked against her she remains a strong determined woman who is set on succeeding.

However this one is different. This Prince doesn’t know he’s a Prince until he receives his mission. Arnaud  didn’t know his father. His father abandoned him, so imagine his shock when he gets told his father was a Prince of a place no one knows about and that it is now his birthright to become a Prince too.
All he needs to do to save his kingdom by finding a secret key. And he needs the Key to the Key to do that.

The Key to a Key he needs turns out to  Sasha. Sasha  is a journalist who is looking to uncover the truth about the place that supposedly doesn’t exist but with her medical issues it takes her time to research things. Imagine if she had  a link that she could get instant access to.

That link becomes Arnaud. The both of them have hidden agendas for starting on their journey together but neither of them could have seen or expected the outcome.

Treasure hunting and healing
Even though this could be read as a stand-alone, I feel it’s a much better read having read book 1. In this book we get to know Arnaud, the half-brother prince. I found this book had a more serious edge compared to the first book. There was still banter, fun sexy times and treasure hunting adventures but they each have their own emotional traumas to deal with and the author did a great job in keeping it real. Loving this series and can’t wait for book 3 – so intrigued by Theo.

The Bastard Prince: a Royal Romance with humor and suspense by Alix Nichols is a novel in the It’s Raining Royals series. This is a great series and so far I have found each book to be highly entertaining. I have to say I think this one has to be my favourite. I loved the first book but this one was so en better. The author knew exactly how to develop it so we could get the most out of the book.
This is a still a relatively new author to me and I have yet to come across a book I don’t like. Her writing style completely pulled me in and I am excited to discover more of her work.

Alix has done it again. This story involves Sasha, who has kidney disease and refuses to allow it to run her life. She is the next key to the key and has no idea what kind of adventure she is in for. Arnaud, the good-looking plastic surgeon who knows nothing about his family line or where he really comes from is in for quite an awakening when he is approached by people from Mount Evor. This romance appeared to progress a bit quicker than in the last book, but everything about it felt right. I love that Alix can continue bringing her characters to life with every chapter that I read. I am still absolutely in love with this storyline and cannot wait to see what the future books bring. I am hoping for more of the men to find their true loves and discovering what is to become of Kurt and Mount Evor. Seriously, if you haven’t picked up one of these books yet, it’s time!

The Bastard Prince is the second book in the ‘It’s Raining Royals’ series by Alix Nichols. This is the second book in the series, and I really recommend reading the first book before starting on this one, as even though each book focuses on a different ‘couple’- there is an overarching story which connects the instalments. I reallly liked the first book- but have enjoyed this one even more.
As with the first book, this is a romantic comedy- with a little angst, drama, adventure, and intrigue. The story continues the quest for the keys to saving the (secret) kingdom- and I happily set off on the adventure alongside the characters.
It is another light-hearted and fun read that really captured my imagination…
Looking forward to Book #3!

Thank you, Alix Nichols!

Sasha
If my sleeve accidentally rides up, people stare.
“Shark attack,” I usually say.
Sometimes I go with, “Incubating an alien worm for science.”
The less sensational truth is I get dialysis because my kidneys are useless.
But admitting that sad truth tends to reduce an ambitious, fit, plucky journalist to “you poor sick girl.”
That is so not who I am! Especially not at the Cannes Film Festival.
I’m here to schmooze, interview, and hunt scoops for my magazine. Above all, I’m here to pursue a major story that will be my breakthrough.
The key to the bombshell is a local man called Arnaud. The cocky studmuffin—bless his heart—thinks he can charm me out of my panties.
Shall I tell him he’ll fail at the sleeves?
Not yet. Not before I find out how much he knows.
And how much I can get him to blab.
Arnaud
Being a plastic surgeon offers many perks.
Being a good-looking and single plastic surgeon is a nonstop perkfest.
Inexplicably, all the pretty perks think they’re the one to awaken my dormant heart.
All but Sasha, that is.
Sasha is an unlikely cocktail of soft curves, sharp wit, and hard edges wrapped in Kevlar thicker than mine.
I wonder how she became like that…
Did a cruel fiancé jilt her at the altar? Or did her dad abandon her as callously as mine did me?
Anyway, here comes the hilarious part:
A half brother I just met wants me to work with Sasha to solve a 200-year-old mystery and save his—and my—secret realm. He’s nuts, of course.
But hey, this could be a fun ride!

The Boss Prince (It’s Raining Royals) by Alix Nichols

4 out of 5 Stars

The perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon! The Boss Prince is a sweet, HEA romance with a little heat! With a few twists along the way, Alix Nichols keeps this story interesting to the end.

Lucie brutally got dumped by her boss/boyfriend. She knew better but it was easy with Jerome, her ex. Lucie swears to herself never to get involved with a co-worker again. She intends to keep the promise to herself, until her new boss is a hottie carved out of steel and marble. Lucie tells herself that it doesn’t matter how hot he is because he is way out of her league and there is no chance. Max Delaroche is a secret prince from someplace no one has ever heard of, and, if he has his way about it, plans to keep it that way. Max hires Lucie because she is the beginning of a plan to keep his principality safe. Max is totally enthralled by Lucie and her sassiness. Can he keep his secret, even from her?

This short read is filled with humor, love and intrigue. Is there a mole in the palace? Can Max keep Lucie safe from his enemies? There are more questions than answers in this book. We can only hope that there is more to come from these two! This cute caper is the perfect beach book or (like me) way to spend an evening!!
