Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1) by Toni Denise – Review by Amber Day

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1)Jake by Toni Denise
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I read the blurb, I instantly wanted to read it. I liked the premise of it and had to read it. This book starts with another failed relationship of Jake’s. He was tired of dealing with gold diggers and to be fair I can understand that. One of his friends talks him into joining a blind date app. Thus the way our hero “meets” our heroine Lauren. Lauren isn’t interested in a relationship with a rich man, yet her best friend convinces her to join the same dating app. The story flowed easily, and it was fun to read. I loved the chemistry between the two and the dynamic between the friend group. I am glad I picked up this book.

Hard Lover (Houston After Dark Book 2) by Deborah Garland – Review by Amber Day

Hard Lover (Houston After Dark #2)Hard Lover by Deborah Garland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love a good forbidden romance, and Deborah Garland brought it with this book. This story is a brother’s best friend-love story Noah is best friends and a coworker of Callie Rose’s big brother Grant. Firmly sticking Callie into the off-limits zone for him, to the point that he never once thought of her more than the girl he watched grow up. But one night that all changes. This book captured my attention almost immediately. The chemistry between Noah and Callie was hot enough to set the pages on fire. I think this book is worth a read.

I have always been intrigued by the ABO verse, so when I saw this book, I had to read it. Add the fact I love several books Lexi already wrote. This book kept me entertained. The struggle between Quinn and Kieran was just what my angsty heart needed. The chemistry between the two was straight fire. It is worth a read.

Watcher (Star-Crossed Celestials Duet #1)Watcher by A.L. Morrow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My love for angsty stories is no secret. When I saw that this book was a retelling of Romeo and Juliet knew I had to read it. This story is about Jace and Cyrus. It follows the insta-love theme that Shakespeare’s original version had. Jace and Cyrus are opposite sides of the celestials. Jace is a watcher, while Cyrus is a messenger. While the whole of the celestials see each other as enemies, Jace and Cyrus don’t and start to fall in love. I liked the story. It was easy to read and entertained me.

As far as I can recall this is my first book by this author. When I read the title, it caught my interest. Then the blurb cemented the need to read. Kage was highly entertaining. While Sydney is everything I love in a lead female. This book had me feeling all kinds of emotions. I was pulled in immediately and loved every second. I was honestly sad when I read the last sentence. The chemistry between the two was on fire. This will be a book I will return to in the future.

Body Checked (Astoria Bay Thunder #2)Body Checked by C.J. Cartwright
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book caught my interest as soon as I read the blurb. I am a sucker for an enemies-to-lovers story, even if it is frienemies-to-lovers. This book is about Bridger and Tia. The chemistry between the two sets the pages on fire. Bridger is a playboy whose image and game are on the rocks. While Tia is troubled by decisions in her past. It caused her to lose her job and now she found herself attracted to what she vowed to stay away from him. We watch their story play out. I loved every minute of it. I definitely recommend this book.

I already enjoyed the other book in this series so it was a no-brainer when I chose to read this one. I was looking forward to seeing who the next ‘Titan’ would be. I was excited for it to be Jonas. I have to say he was a bit of an alphahole and not in a good way but I did enjoy watching him change as his story progressed with Kenzie. Kenzie…I loved her. But your girl had some baggage she had to let go of. I loved seeing her overcome things from that her past that were causing her problems in her life. I did enjoy this story the chemistry between Jonas and Kenzie was very delicious. I definitely recommend this for a quick read.

This book is too cute. It is a great book perfect for little kids. The know-it-all pencil story and illustrations were beautifully done. We watch Caspian as he and the pencil go on a little adventure and learn a lesson or two. It is a perfect read for children and those who still love a good children’s book. I will be sharing it with my nieces and nephews.

Luc worked hard for everything he had and was about to receive the biggest surprise of all. While Summer was dealing with the death of her best friend and trying to keep herself alive. I love a good friends-to-lovers book. Even if there is a 20-year gap in the friendship. Caspian and Paisley are thrown together after 20 years, both with their own issues. One is an uncle who issues an ultimatum to marry for one year or lose everything that matters to him. The other is in debt up to their eyeballs with medical bills. This is the first book I’ve read by Magdoline Ward and she played with all my emotions. There were times that I wanted to throw my kindle. Others where I squealed with excitement. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book, I’ve read by this author. The blurb had me interested in it the moment I read it. Francis “Stitch” Stein is an intriguing character who straddles the line of the law spectrum. The MC portion of the story in itself was everything that you expect in an MC novel. What you don’t expect is the backstory and the consequences of said backstory. It was a uniquely spun supernatural tale that kept me reading. Now onto Grace. I loved her and her adorable child. I loved the chemistry between all the characters. I did enjoy this book. I will be checking out others by this author.

This book was a very cute read. This is my first book—to my knowledge—by Katy Hunter. But she is definitely one I will read again based on this book. Sofie and Gil. What can I say about this book? The connection is present from the beginning. This book has very realistic themes and it was a nice change for the high fantasy kick that I have been on. I loved seeing them together and how they progressed in their relationship. If you are looking for a cute realistic read this is definitely one you need to read.
