Caine (Men of Syn Book 2) by Anise Storm – Review by Amber Day

Caine (Men of Syn, #2)Caine by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I read the blurb I was salivating to read this book. It didn’t disappoint. I started this series with this book and will definitely be going back to read the first. Even though I didn’t start with the first book, it was easy to catch up and only made me want to backtrack and read Hawke. I fell for Caine hard and Emery is a perfect match for him. I will definitely be reading more from Storm in the immediate future. Thank you for a wonderful read.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Oh, my shadows! This is the second book in this series and it picks up right where the first left off. I enjoyed the forbidden angle of their love in the first book. With the accords approved their love is approved even though it is still a fight to prove themselves. As if that wasn’t enough as they also have the hellspawn growing in strength. Causing more strife for Lycans and vampires alike. I cant wait to see how this series plays out. The story is not like others I have read.

The God: A Greek Myth Fantasy Romance (Her Three Immortals Book 2)The God: A Greek Myth Fantasy Romance by Hazel Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gods above and below 😍😍😍😍

I sped through this book. This is the second in the series and literally picks up where the last one left off. I thought the first book had me hooked, the second one has me obsessed. I need the third one like yesterday. The plot focuses harder on Vanessa and Grey this go-round. I love how she is literally the only splash of color in his life. The only complaint that I have is that I read it so fast and now how to wait for the last book to be released.

Oh holy gods

I believe this is the first book I have read by Hazel Storm and I instantly regret that fact. I am a sucker for books about Gods. Throw this being a reverse harem/why choose book into the mix. *insert chefs kiss here* Perfection. This book dragged me in almost immediately. Grey, Aroz, Raef, and Vanessa are life. The chemistry between each brother and Vanessa is enough to set the pages on fire. I need all the books now.

Cute read

This is the first book by N.D. Jackson that I have read. It was an easy read, that I did enjoy. It starts off with a tragedy and a promise. It was interesting to see how Athena overcomes her past and opens her heart to the possibility of love. The story is beautiful. There were moments that made my heart cry. Tru was everything she needed and more. I love Athena and Tru together. I look forward to reading more stories from this world.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Oh my heart

This book is the 5th book in the Dark Sparrow series by India Kells. I have inhaled this series. The story is intriguing and causes me to need to know what happens next. The story continues with Sam and the special lady named Ellie. Their story held me captive. I loved the way they were together. Even if they have a need to be the hero. But that only reinforced the fact that they belonged together. I need November to be here like yesterday.

Truly a good read

It has been a minute since I inhaled a series this quickly. This is one I have to find out how it is going to end. Liam and Catronia’s story fed all my needs. I literally read this in one sitting. I refused to put the book down to do things like eat and adulting. I loved the chemistry between them. Add the forbidden note to the story (though it was not completely forbidden), my heart was so full. I am enjoying seeing the brothers come together to stop their crazy father. I totally recommend this series.

One wild ride

As with the first two books, this book dragged me in almost immediately. I needed the next installation of this family’s story. Kells didn’t let me down with this book. In this book, we meet another brother named Kai and his leading lady Isabel. The angst in this book fed my angsty soul. The two have to work through their baggage to have something real. I rooted for them the entire way while they work to take down Finch. I am seriously loving this story. It is amazing!

Mmm

I started this series this week and I have sucked in the books as I would air. This is the second book of the Dark Sparrows series. Archer and Zoe’s story had me on the edge of my seat needing to find out what was happening next. Zoe is my kind of girl. I love it when the heroine doesn’t need a man to save her and Asher is a sexy alpha male. I seriously enjoyed the book. Now onto the next book.

Touching read

I had already enjoyed the previous books in this series; So I was ready to see where Renee would take me in this story. Carter and Vanessa were cute as can be. I loved that Vanessa gave Carter a run for his money. I loved that she didn’t give in no matter how hot she was for him. I loved watching their relationship play out as they got to know each other. This book was fun to read and I did enjoy it. Definitely a worthy quick read.

Looking for a quick spicy read?! This book is for you! The chemistry between Poppy and Turner was enough to catch the pages on fire. My biggest complaint about this book was that it was too quick of a read. I wanted more of their story. I enjoyed it and look forward to reading the next book.

I started the series with this book. I am going to have to backtrack and catch up on the others. Glory and Kace…My heart. Their story is tragic and magical. My heart!

From what I can recall this is my first book by Danielle Jacks and it has me wondering why. While I tend to read ‘spicy’ romance books this book hit home with the realness that it portrayed. Jody is, as she feels, the family screw up. Honestly, she is a bit of a hot mess, but when her grandmother gets hurt she goes to her. There enters Adam. He is yummy. Their story held me captivated and I wasn’t mad about it. It is worth a read if you want a relatable love story.

I am a sucker for a good time travel book. (Hello Outlander). So reading this I was looking forward to seeing how this unique story out. I am happy to say it didn’t let me down. From the start, I was pulled in. Cassie’s backstory is one of sadness and pain. Add a dash of magic and 45 years into the future. You then meet Nick. Oh boy, this series is something I can really get behind.

Interesting

This is the first by this author. The overall story itself was an interesting take on fae myths. I love fae books but this one has an added MC element in it. It was a quick read. Lance is a halfling and embarks on a journey that forces him to face his past. This story is one that will leave you wondering what will happen next.

Moonlit Venice my heart!

I started reading Amy McKinley for the first time with this series. While the first two books were quickies in reading time-wise, this one was a bit longer. I enjoyed reading Gianna and Sergio’s story. The way that Mckinley describes the locations, *insert a chief kiss here* paints a pretty picture. One that made me feel like I was actually there with Gianna. I would definitely recommend this book.

An enjoyable quick read

This book was a super quick book. But it was a delightful read. Fiona, Lachlan, and Connor. Who does she choose? The Boy who left and is now back? Or the boy who stayed and was there when she needed someone the most? Though it was a quick book it still packed a bit of a punch. I quite enjoyed this book.

A cute quick read

This book was one of those quick but cute books. It took me about thirty minutes to read. Nadia and Cade are cute together. They both have struggled with things that I will not mention due to spoilers and I’m not about that spoiler life. The book is fast pace. Yet it isn’t to the point that you will be scratching your head asking what happened. My main takeaway was that it was a cute story about a cute couple.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book caught me by surprise. I was like oh yet another Lycan and vampire forbidden love story. But IT was nothing as I thought. Though it does have that as a major theme to the overall story, that’s not it. There is a secret connection between the two races that they seem to be oblivious about. This book is the beginning of this series and I am looking forward to reading more of it. But in this, while being introduced to Robertson’s world you meet several characters that I assume will take center focus as each story is told. But in this one Tasha and Levi. I love their story so hard.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the spicetopia series and the second that I have read of from this author. One thing about this author is that you are going to be reading some graphic scenes. Like holy hell, girl get-it scenes. So if you aren’t into that I would not recommend this author for you. While the sex scenes are wide eyes and fan-worthy the overall story is enjoyable. Jolie and Cy’s chemistry is wow. But can they both keep that spark when all their secrets are revealed? That is the true question.

This book is the first one that I have read from this author. The story was entertaining with some steamy moments. Sarah and James were both not looking for a relationship and agreed to scratch the other’s itch. Then, of course, those pesky things called feelings begin to develop, making them question could they be something more. It was a quick read for me. The internal monologue had me laughing and was on point with some of my own thoughts. I loved how open Sarah is about sex. Being a mother didn’t stop her from being herself. Just because you are a mom doesn’t mean you stop needed some TLC.

Is it really possible to go back to the one you left behind? Can he really accept you back into His loving arms? This book is just about that. Mafia Princess Milana left to get away from the insanity of the Sindicato life and pursue her dreams. But that means she has to leave the man that owns her heart behind. Fast forward to years later and she now knows Dane is what she wants. But did she burn that bridge to the ground? I enjoyed this book even though I wanted to hit both of the main characters. But this book was good and I am looking forward to the next in the series

I love a good mafia romance. This book though does have a triggering moment in it, was a nice intro into the Sindicato World. Seth is the son of the leader of the Sindicato family and falls for his leading lady is a criminal lawyer that got him off in more ways than one. This book is honestly a quick read with some unexpected turns. I think it took me about an hour to read. I am looking forward to seeing how things play out with this family. Ever have a book that pulled you in so quickly that the next thing you know it’s going on one in the morning? Yeah, this book is one of those. I thoroughly enjoy a hot alpha male and boy Adam definitely fits the bill. Then there is Julia aka Jules. She is everything an alpha male could want. The chemistry between the two could set the pages to flame. There were several moments where I wanted to shake Adam so hard and tell him to get his head out of his butt. I am not going to lie when I read the blurb to this book,—while pulled my interest—I was like ‘oh this is going to be a typical runaway find love trope.’ I thought I had the whole story mapped out. Boy was I wrong! This book pulled me into the story almost immediately and I am glad for it! Maxwell is a Broderick witch and he is gifted with the ability to speak to animals along with some telekinesis. Enter Claudia, a werewolf, on the run from a massive psychopath that had held her captive for 8 years. This book was delightful. This was another new author for me. The story was interesting. It has several things that I enjoy, vampires and wolves mixed with mythology. Livvie is a “wolf-less” daughter to a pack alpha and never felt truly at home there and then there is Darius, the son of Ra—The Egyptian Sun God and an ancient vampire. Their chemistry is undeniable between the two and you can’t help but root for them as a couple. If you like mythology with a touch of supernatural this book is for you.

This is the first time reading a Wareeze Woodson book. It pulled me in rather quickly. I give Emily, the heroine of the story, full credit of said pulling me in. She is a likable character that you can’t help to feel for. When you meet dear Emily she is put up as collateral by her guardian to pay his debts. (Rude and most definitely had to be illegal.) But with a stroke of luck or horror, depending on whom you ask, Earl of Lenbridge wins. The progresses at a fast pace and is an easy read. I definitely recommend it to other historical romance lovers
