This book is an emotional and beautiful story that really tugs at your heartstrings. The author has done an amazing job of portraying loss and grief and the conflicting emotions this can bring with it. And through all of this, the connection between the characters really stood out. It was strong and consistent and really added another layer to the story.
I was pulled into this story right from the start and couldn’t put it down until I had finished reading it. I wanted to see how everything would play out and what would happen to the characters. I became really invested in them and their journey. I definitely shed tears reading this book and it entirely worth it. I would highly recommend this book, it is fantastic.

Good gravy Miss Daisy! I was on an emotional rollercoaster with this book. Things would go absolutely fantastic and then out of no where sucker punch to the gut, wash, rinse and repeat. Ms. Parker does an absolute fantastic job with showing the stages of grief in a healthy way. Adam and Hope are great together. They have a few bumps along the way and sometimes huge pot holes to navigate, but Hope makes sure that Adam doesn’t shut her out or shut down. She makes sure he communicates what he’s feeling. Sweet sweet Adam. I just want to wrap this man in a blanket and keep him from all hurt. Reading this book made me feel all of the feels, but it was definitely worthwhile in the end.

Almost and Forever was different. Not a bad different, but a fantastic different. The author sucks the reader into a tearjerker. This book is filled with love, turmoil, grief, understanding, loyalty, guilt, and every other feeling under the sun. You don’t always get all those in a romance. You always get some of it but not as in depth. The story that was told was sad but healing and that’s what I loved about it.
Ava/Hope finds herself making a New Years wish. What she wasn’t expecting was the handsome stranger asking her what she wished for. Little did she know that in time he would become a huge life changing piece of her life. In more ways than one.
Adam has been through the ringer. He lost the woman he loves. How is he expected to move forward? Ivory tried to prepare him, yet he kept turning a blind eye to reality. What was completely unexpected was coming across the unforgettable woman from New Years. He called her Hope for a reason, will he realize that?
These two end up on a collision course they didn’t see coming, is it for the best?
I enjoyed how the author presented the story. Even though you could figure out what was going to happen, the author kept the reader guessing on the how and when. Which made it even better. I look forward to coming across more books by this author in the future.

This is a beautiful story. I really loved the characters, and the way the story is written really makes you slow down and adsorb what’s going on in the story around you. It was a bit of a slower read, but i really enjoyed all of the details the author put into it. It’s well written and thought out. Highly recommend.

Almost and Forever by Angela K. Parker is a contemporary romance with love, loss, pain, grief, chemistry, challenges, dramatic developments, second chances, forgiveness, and hope. This isn’t your typical hearts and flowers romance, this is a raw, heartbreaking, and impactful tale where the author will toy with your emotions, shaking you up like a snow globe, before tending to your wounds. I recommend having wine and tissues close at hand for this read.
There are also possible triggers for some readers, so be aware before diving in. Sensitive topics include death of a loved one.
This is a beautiful, albeit heartbreaking tale of ‘all good things are worth the wait’, fate, second chances, overcoming obstacles, hope, forgiveness, and the healing power of love.
Looking forward to exploring more of Ms. Parker’s work…
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Angela K. Parker!

This is definitely not your typical love story but it was easy to read and I could barely put it down. I read it in one afternoon. I giggled out loud, cried a couple times, and got a bit of a surprise also(always nice). The character development was also nice to follow and see how it ended.

Almost and Forever is a sad, beautiful, and hopeful love story. “Hope” is a therapist who is looking for love but isn’t having any luck. It was New Year’s Eve when she realized her boyfriend was not her lifelong love. Her boyfriend was working that night and she was making a wish at her favorite fountain when “Hope” started up a conversation with a man and had a weird draw to him. While they did not say much verbally, the chemistry between the two was electric. However, Adam is thinking about proposing to his girlfriend. We come to find out that both of them found a connection, but it provided a different perspective for both of them. Adam is a successful man who ends up lost until a certain woman comes into his life. There are a lot of ups and downs, secrets, sadness, hope, and so much love in this book. I enjoyed everything about it. The characters were amazing. They each were patient, loving, brave, etc. The book moved quickly and was never boring. Things progressed beautifully and I was excited to see where their journey would end.

This story is heartbreaking and sweet and so full of love and understanding. I love the way this author writes a flawed character in Adam. He may be a tough guy but he’s human and real. With real feelings and problems. I love that he finds himself at rock bottom and is able to rescue himself by asking for help. I love that he has “Hope”. Being a romantic at heart myself I believe everyone should have hope.

“Make every moment count” ~ Adam

“Use your head, but take notes from your heart. The head is no good without it.” ~ Mom

These quotes are not only from advice for the characters in this story but they are great pieces of advice for everyday readers! I like to say follow your heart but sometimes you must use your head.

**This book contains adult content and the loss of a loved one. It is not suitable for all readers. **

Almost and Forever is a heartachingly beautiful tale. Tissues please……. This old saying holds true in this case – “If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it’s yours. If not, it was never meant to be,”

It is a tale of love, loss, guilt, hope, want, need, anger, angst and forgiveness and so much more that it will have you smiling one moment and then crying the next all throughout.

The story flowed smoothly and with likeable but heartbreaking characters. I love that this book was written in both of the characters points of views, and I loved the care, the tenderness, and everything in between. There were times when I wanted to shake them and others when I wanted to wrap them in big hugs but as they say the road to happiness is not always straight.
When truths come to light it may just destroy everything.
He is all she has ever wanted but how can you compete will a ghost, when one’s heart is with another. Playing second fiddle is not a place she wants to be.
He is a mess, but she makes him want more only he is buried in his grief.
If you like a sweet romance with a few twists and turns, then give this author a go.

Hope

Adam Emerson was meant for me, but unfortunately, his heart belonged to someone else.

At a pivotal point in my life, I decided to end my relationship to make room for something new. My change of heart couldn’t have come at a better time.

My future began the moment I met Adam. Our first encounter showed his kindness. He swept in on a wish and was whisked away just as fast. During our second encounter, I got a glimpse of his anger. But the third revealed all of him—a man who loves fiercely, even in the midst of grief.

Adam

While dealing with a heartbreaking loss, I visited a local cafe for a reprieve. I didn’t expect to run into Hope again or to intervene when some guy approached her. The timing couldn’t have been worse for my interference, but she looked like she needed a reprieve too. After spending minutes with her, I wanted days, and the days turned into weeks. Hope showered my grief with kindness and doused my anger with love. When I wanted to lose control, she wouldn’t let me. She gave me space but kept me close. But there was more to her than I realized.

When a shocking discovery is revealed, I’m left wondering if our connection is strong enough to sustain us. Or is it the very thing that will tear us apart?

This isn’t my typical genre. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Devlin: A Forbidden Office Romance

There is something about the “forbidden ” and Devlin and Eve do the forbidden right. The first time they explore it was pretty hot and changed everything.

Devlin comes off as arrogant which he is but he is more than his ego. He doesn’t show the other side unless you’re worthy.

Eve is driven at work and wants to be the best and when a huge opportunity arrives she is determined to take advantage of it.

This is a book to be savored and enjoyed. It isn’t one that you should rush through. Once you hat caught up into the story you will have a hard time stepping away.

Raine Down: An Urban Fantasy Adventure (The Shadow Guardians #1) by C.B. Samet

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Raine Down is the first book in The Shadow Guardians Series. This book was fun to read and it was hard putting it down. I will definitely be looking for the next book.

Raine almost has a suspect when an FBI agent gets in the way. She gets hurt in the process. Now she has to answer questions. She finds that she could be with him if she were fully human. The quote I chose for Raine is: “What are my parameters in terms of what he’s allowed to know about the Guardians and bloodlines? He saw me heal myself. He’ll want answers.”

Will is an FBI agent who is after the serial killer, Blade, although he learns that that’s not his real name. He meets Raine and finds himself falling for her. Will he get the answers he wants? The quote I chose for Will is: “You want me to look the other way when confronted with a woman with superhuman healing? What about superhuman stealth, or did I honestly overlook you in that room before you dove in front of me?”

Highly recommended for Supernatural Romantic Suspense lovers.

Devlin: A Forbidden Office Romance by Angela K. Parker

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Devlin is a great read. Office romances have always held a place in my heart, but this book makes the top of my list.

Devlin is a womanizer. Well that’s how he likes to make himself look like, but in reality he would like to settle down. He just hasn’t found the right woman. That’s until Evelyn walked in his life. Now that he’s had her in his bed he wants nothing but to make her his. The quote I chose for Devlin is: “But you could borrow them for thirty minutes to an hour. I’m sure Sawyer wouldn’t mind. I do enjoy the feel of satin caressing my skin.”

Evelyn just got out of a relationship and doesn’t want another one. Or does she? She hates that she wants him. That one night isn’t going to be enough for her. Will they make it? The quote I chose for Evelyn is: “There’s never a dull moment. Devlin has kept me on my toes from the moment we met. Challenge has been our strongest suit. I guess you could say we make a great team.”

Highly recommended for New Adult Romance lovers.

Devlin: A Forbidden Office Romance was a great enemy to lovers read. Eve and Devlin are coworkers at a toy company. Eve is an independent, hard-working woman who will not let herself be wooed by Devlin’s charm. Devlin has always been attracted to Eve but understood not to mess business with pleasure. That was until he heard she broke up with her long-term boyfriend and saw his chance. Eve is not having that since Devlin is known as the bachelor with no hopes for anything but a physical relationship. What the two of them don’t realize is that the sexual chemistry just couldn’t be denied. Devlin starts to realize he can no longer deny his feelings and can’t believe that Eve made her way into his heart. There is a problem however, Devlin has kept a pretty big secret that could destroy everything, along with the fact that he is going to also be her boss. Can they keep their relationship a “dirty little secret” to save their jobs and their hearts?
I always enjoy a good enemy-to-lovers story. Both characters were very enjoyable and engaged in a no-bullshit type of way. The banter and progression of their story were romantic, realistic, and sexy. I thought Eve portrayed a character that was relatable and confident. She didn’t let Devlin in without him knowing what she wanted and didn’t. Devlin also had a way of “handling” her, he was portrayed as a confident, but not narcissistic man which came across the page as very sexy. The ending left me feeling meh. I love that it progressed to where it did, however, I feel we went from one feeling to something way beyond that. I liked that there was an epilogue but I almost wished I found out a little more about where they go.

But they also can’t stop the sexual tension every time they’re in the same room. Can they keep their distance from one another or will they finally give into temptation?Book had my attention from the very first page and I finished in one sitting. What makes these books so entertaining for me is the way that the steamy chemistry starts off slow. It’s also steamy that you can feel it as you read each word and as it builds more, it makes you excited for the characters and their intensifying adventures or ways to keep them going. This is a sensational read. Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Devlin is a businessman and a womaniser but there is one woman who has driven him insane from the first meeting five years ago, Eve.

They are brilliant as a team and with there biting banter and flirtations is just that flirting but when Eve suddenly becomes single all bets are off, the only problem there are certain rules within the office and dating a co-worker is right up there.

One night they have two much alcohol and not much sense but will one night be enough.

This book is a standalone story involving the characters of Devlin and Eve, the chemistry between these two-character jumps off the page at you and feeling of forbidden love is always on the cusp of their banter. The story although short offers you an insight into the world of these two people from the frenemy’s aspect of the story to the relationship that develops after the night together.

The story is full of action and with them trying to keep their relationship a secret is fun to read. This is not the first book I have read by this author and certainly won’t be the last.

This book had me on the edge the entire time, it was a bit of a slow build up. But that doesn’t mean it wasn’t amazing! We follow Devlin and Evelyn who are coworkers, Devlin is a massive flirt and womanizer and Eve refuses to see him as anything more than her annoyingly flirtatious partner at their job. But Eve can’t help but appreciate his looks even though his personality annoys the ever-living crap out of her, but when the tension between them becomes too much and Eve’s newly single status has her in a slump. Devlin comes to the rescue by being annoyingly handsome and surprisingly caring and attentive, after one taste neither of them can get the other out of their minds and they want nothing more than to be with each other. But when their wants become a risk to their job, are they willing to take the risk? Or would they rather revert back to their safety bubbles of quietly pining for one another? Can they survive the surprises and twists coming their way?

This is a very enjoyable story. Office Romances are one of my fav tropes and this one surprised me. While I thought this was a cookie cutter office romance story it really isn’t. It has secrets and the characters have to work to find trust in each other. I really liked the characters. They are relatable and fun. I really liked watching Devlin. He liked Evelyn but thought it was a one time thing then strangely he started becoming addicted to her. He became invested in her even though she was extremely leery of a relationship with him.

Overall I read this quickly and had a nice time learning about the characters and their tics. It is a good office romance story. This is a first time author for me. She surprised me by not writing a run of the mill office romance.
