Euphoric Wonderland: An Eclectic Collection of Psychedelic Poetry to Stimulate the Senses and Open the MindEuphoric Wonderland: An Eclectic Collection of Psychedelic Poetry to Stimulate the Senses and Open the Mind by Ryan M. Becker

I have to start this off with saying I don’t like poetry. Aside from Dr.Suess, I have small children, I typically don’t read it. I’ve never been good at “interpreting” what poems mean. With all that being said, I kind of liked this collection. There were some that I didn’t like and there were some that I really enjoyed. It took me a bit to get through but that wasn’t the author’s fault. He did a great job.

This was a well thought out book. Even with it being the first of the series, I feel like I’ve known the characters for awhile now. Great storyline, great world building, great characters…

Little Red, the Detective: a science folktale (Science Folktales)Little Red, the Detective: a science folktale by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

We enjoyed this book. It’s a scientific twist in Little Red Riding Hood. Plus, it fit in nicely with our forensic science course. Instead of plants, we’re doing animal tracks, but this has got them interested in plants now as well. A little gross where the wolf vomit is concerned but still an enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed this book. My normal genre tends to be historical romance and this hit the spot. Between the fiction and diary entries, you can see the author put a lot of work into building the characters. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

This is not my typical genre. This is a historical mystery/mystical fantasy kind of thing. The plot keeps you hooked and wanting more. The characters are well developed. It’s the third book in the series, so I recommend starting from the beginning but that’s just me. I normally would start with book one and now I must go read the other two. This turned out to be a pretty good book.

This was a short, quick romance read. The two main characters came together in spite of an age gap and the hardship of a biracial relationship in that time period. This author stayed true to the way of life in this period of time and portrays the “law” as it mostly was.

This was a cute little story about how it is to transition from one stage to another. It made it a little easier to understand that everyone gets a little scared of unknown situations. Easy to read and interesting characters.

This isn’t my typical genre. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I had time to kill during my kids surgery and while not a nice situation it was nice to be able to sit down and read it all at once without feeling rushed or interrupted. The characters were great and the storyline flowed well.

Well first of all, Carl has way more patience than I do. It wouldn’t have a rebuild with my stuff with my siblings and I, it would have been fists and yelling. However, my own kids are kind of like Mira and Carl. They’ll fight and harass each other but at the end of the day, they really do like the others. This story was well written and sort of accurate…

This is a great little story. It’s a book that adults will enjoy reading with their littles and the littles can read on their own. It’s a nice reminder of how innocent kids are and how they see the world around them.

Again, I read this story with my youngest son. He says it’s a good story. He also said it teaches the important life lesson that you should always pay your employees… While I’m glad he got that point, I think the bigger one is to always try to treat any situation fairly. This story helps explain this to the tiny humans.

This book is something that I typically wouldn’t read because it’s not my favorite genre and tends to be pretty heavy emotionally. With that being said, this was a book I couldn’t put down. This historical fiction takes you back to a different era and gives a view of a time not really seen before.

This is a sweet story that along with the rest of the series addresses anxieties, fears and how to cope with them. It’s appropriate for all small children. Everyone has something to worry about or is scared of. This book let the kids know that it’s ok not to be ok all of the time.
