Deadly Vengeance is the second book in The Vaccaro Empire series by Anise Storm. It is a dark romantic suspense that starts with a quest for revenge which sets off a chain of events that makes for an intense read. It’s a mafia romance with all the mafia-esque politics, violence, and danger you could expect. As well as plenty of dramatic developments, secrets, lies, suspense, family, heartache, pain, intrigue, agendas, angst, chemistry, sizzle, and emotion.
A quest for revenge turns out to be more than Luca ever expected, that’s for sure. Can love every come from pain and a vengeful heart? Will love have the power to heal the past? Well worth the read to find out. But be prepared for a tense read…
This is not a light and fluffy read, and it has dark details that could prove unsettling for some readers, so be sure to read the TW before diving in.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Anise Storm!

Mafia romances are a guilty pleasure for me. I don’t think I’ve found one I didn’t like. I do believe Deadly Vengeance is my favorite I’ve read to date. It’s got a lot more substance than those I’ve read in the past. The author does a wonderful job of keeping the reader on the edge of their seat.
What will happen next?
Will she ever defrost?
Will he only ever use her?
Those questions and so many more pop in one’s mind while reading. And though it takes time, the author answers every single one.
Luca, deprived of a life he could’ve had. However embraced it, once he took it.
Valenzia, sheltered away from the world she was living.
These two have more in common than they truly realize. Unfortunately despite her beauty for Luca she’s a means to an end. The piece that brings his family back to the forefront in his native land.
But is she really?
The trials and tribulations these two both go through are wonderfully written and entertaining. The author wrote a novel that I know I’ll read again.
Now my question to you is, will you join me on that journey.

Unpredictable Revenge Mafia
Deadly Vengeance is book 2 in The Vaccaro Empire Collection. It can be read as a stand-alone, even though it is the next generation after book 1. Valencia finds more than she bargains for when she comes across her mother’s diaries. Luca gets more than he bargains for when he decides to seek revenge. The story draws you in and is a good balance between action, dark themes, light moments and steamy romance. There were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Recommend.

Deadly Vengeance
By: Anise Storm

This is the second book in the Vaccaro Empire Collection. It can be read as a standalone, but I definitely recommend reading both. This book features Valenzia and Luca. Who have had two very different upbringings. Luca has grown up with a vendetta against his father. He wants to abduct Valenzia and marry her. However, he has no intention actually falling for her. He is simply seeking revenge against the people he holds responsible for ruining his family. When he meets her sparks fly. This is definitely a story about the lines between love and hate. It is filled with suspense and twists and turns. It kept me wanting to read, I wanted to see how their story would end. I truly enjoy reading stories about families that are at odds and this is one of them. Where there is generations of hatred. I definitely recommend this page turner!

This is book two in the series and it is amazing. This book makes it hard for you to stop reading and go do other things. You will find yourself sitting in your chair and not wanting to do anything but get lost in the world of mafia. You will keep turning the pages because you have to know what it next. This book has deep character connections and growth. This also has all the dark mysterious grit that you get with mafia romance. This author is amazing at developing string emotional connections between the reader and the characters; with that you get very deep character growth. This is a fast paced book because the plot keeps your interest and turning the pages. The twists and turns that the book takes will have you on the edge of your seat and scratching your head because you just don’t predict some of them. I highly recommend reading this book if you like mafia romance but more importantly like character development with an amazing plot.

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the start. Dark Mafia is one of my favorite reads and this one did not disappoint. We get a hot alpha male and strong female character. We get so much in this story. Luca wants revenge and Val is the perfect pawn to help him get it. But…will he be able to keep his heart out of it or will he fall for her? I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. All of the characters added a great element to the story. Deadly Vengeance (The Vaccaro Empire #2)Deadly Vengeance by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Deadly Vengeance is the second exciting book in the The Vaccaro Empire series. It is another deliciously erotica romance tale from Anise Storm and her magic fingers. Her writing is dark, raw, and gritty and captivates the reader.
Deadly Vengeance is a charming and seductive dark mafia thriller romantic story that has secrets and lies, intrigue and darkness, angst and fear and intrigue to keep the pages turning get the heart pumping.
Anise writes character that you will either love or hate. I enjoyed the push pull between the characters which starts right from the start. One thing is for sure and that is their honour to protect at all costs those that they love.
Vengeance turns rivals once pitted against one another into love or is it hate? Secrets will be exposed, mayhem reigns, ulterior motives, violence and death all come with the territory.
This steamy read is full of sexy, dangerous and possessive Mafia men who live in a dangerous and violent world. There is betrayal and suspense, tension and so much more it jumps out at you, and you are looking in the dark and on the edge of your seat.
This is Luca and Valenzia’s story, and you will have to grab a copy to find out what makes one turn to vengeance. You will not be disappointed.

Luca and Valenzia are a story that will make you sweat. Holy moly! I loved this story is some sick twisted way. Luca found out that what he knew wasn’t what was. Valenizia found out that she couldn’t believe everything. Mommy and Daddy had lied. Out for revenge, Luca came to realize that a change of heart was needed. This story will have you tearing up for all the emotions. I felt like my heart had been torn up, ripped apart and sewed back together by the end. A beautiful story that is so well-done. I loved the characters. So many twists that you really don’t see coming. I just fell in love with it.

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. An author that has great writing style and their attention to details make you feel part of the story. This is the second book in this series and is just as great to read as the first one. I enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. They pull you into their world and keep you engaged to the end. This is a story about crossing lines and bringing peace to families instead of betrayal. This is a well written story that is hard to put down and fast paced. This is one you don’t want to miss for sure. There is great growth of the characters and plot which made the story easy to read. Con and Neeve have gone to Ireland to help his brother, Eammon, with a perplexing case involving his fiancée. This book had me intrigued right from the start. The prologue just reaches right out and grabs you. The author’s descriptions make you feel like you are right there watching as they participate in the deed. I loved the characters. They were so well-written and the Irish landscape was described so well. Someday, I just want to visit. This story line was perfect. I loved the thrill and suspense. What did Max do? Did he really do it? How did he do it? What a thrill ride! If you haven’t gotten to imbibe in the Con and Neeve series, I would highly advise you to do it. A favoirite on my author list. Definite must read.

Good grief if the cover alone was anything to go I’d tell you now to get your ice chips and fan on hand so that you don’t melt 🤣🙈🔥

This is the second read , different author , that I started and restarted after i redefined a word which adds a whole new dimension to the title and story within … well it made a difference for me ❣️📚

Whitney has a gift of sorts , she’s inherited it from her grandmother, anyhoo she can hear peoples thoughts and she can help them heal and there’s a woman’s voice that reaches out to her for help , a voice that needs to set the record straight, a voice that needs to heal a vengeful heart , a voice that needs to heal the hurt …..

Juliana came from an affluent and powerful family so her father was not in favour of the love she shared with Dominic so when disappears after an argument it’s easy for “ daddy dearest” to blame it on Dominic and despite the fact that he’s found not guilty 2 years later , Dominic had not only lost the love of his his but he’s also lost 2 years of life , he’s determined to crawl his way to the top and with a full of vengeance it makes for riveting reading and a man I would not want to upset …..

Whitney looks so much like Juliana so when her path crossed with that of Dominic she tastes his ire firsthand and he doesn’t hold back , he’s hurt , he’s angry , he’s cruel and Whitney better have her wits about her , Dominic is not an easy man …,

I had mixed feelings about Dominic …. First I lived him then I hated him and then I just fell in love with him again ❣️😂🙈 as for Whitney , she’s a strong , patient , compassionate and brave woman she was a healing balm of sorts 🫶🏼

A hot , spicy , twisted read that earns every star of its five star rating 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

You ever opened a book and gotten a few lines in and just get a chill? Like you know you’re about to go for a wild ride? That’s what happened for me with this book. This author hits some very trigging subjects very well. Triggers aren’t for everyone and that totally fine but I do appreciate how well the author does them. My only real draw back are the flash backs but that’s more of a me hold up than the author so don’t let that stop you. The characters are complex and pulled me in right away. The storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat most of the time. I’m giving this read four stars and highly recommend. Can’t wait to see where this author takes readers next!

(Spoilers)
I’ve read a lot of other books by this author, and she’s an author I recommend to a lot of people. I was really excited to start on this book, and it hooked me right from the beginning. Make sure you look at the content warnings before reading this book, as it does have some graphic scenes regarding SH, suicidal ideation, as well as SA and conversations about terminating pregnancies.

As I said, this book had a really strong start- revenge plot, against the MMC’s dad, Mafia romance, dark romance, forced proximity, and instant attraction. However, as the story progressed, I honestly kept disliking the MMC. I’m a fan of red flags waving in the review mirror, but honestly the MMC of this book almost made it hard to enjoy. He treated the FMC like utter trash up until like 90% of the book. And the way he was going to force her to terminate her pregnancy? No ma’am, no ham, no turkey!

I’m not a stranger to dark romances, heck, I’ve read most of the major ones on BookTok, but the way he just kept treating her throughout the book just made me disinterested in the romance sub-plot. The spice is there, but the plot just wasn’t for me. It might be your cup of tea, once again just read the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, but it wasn’t a book I overly loved. However, I do still recommend this author and her other works! Go check them out!

**READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS** This is my first time reading this author, and I will surely be looking into some of her other works as well. I am not usually drawn to mafia romance, but the trigger warnings made me curious. (And if you DO have triggers, definitely don’t skip past the warnings on this one) Vivianne’s life changes when her best friend is murdered on a trip to New York. Seeking revenge, she infiltrates the mafia scene to seduce (and get close to) the head of the infamous Vaccaro family. Her plans to get close to her enemy seems to be going well….until she meets Nazario, the son of the killer (Stefano). Lucky for her, Nazario knows exactly what type of man Stefano is, and also wants his father dethroned. The two fight their passion for each other, but inevitably things get rather complicated as they give in to their love. I loved the characters and the plot, and how quickly this book was able to draw me in. Deadly Intentions is very dark and has plenty of twisted pages to keep you on edge, and if you can get past the hard parts, is definitely recommended.

The fact that this is a mafia romance, dark and disturbing moments are expected. Definitely read the author’s note to make sure this isn’t a book you bit off more than you could chew. If you decide to move forward and give it a shot you will definitely be rewarded in the amazing masterpiece this book is.

Vivianne’s life is going pretty well until one night changes everything and her best friend Donnatella is murdered on a girl’s trip in the big apple. Set upon revenge Vivianne hides the girl she once was, the quiet studious one for a more alluring vixen to attract the man she knows murdered her best friend. He just so happens to be Stefano, head of the Vaccaro crime family and notoriously despicable. As his mistress she is in a position extremely close to him to enact her plan of revenge, until Nazario, his son, enters the picture and reawakens desires she thought long gone. Nazario knows what kind of man his father is and the beauty on his arm is playing a dangerous game. Is Vivianne in way over her head? Can Nazario continue with his plan to take his father’s place as head of the crime family while also protecting a girl who turned his world upside down?

This is definitely a dark and twisty book with lots of romance, intrigue, mystery, and violence that will have you rooting for Nazario and Vivianne as they try to overcome the despicable Stefano. If you like mafia romances then definitely give this one a try you won’t regret it but definitely take the author’s warning to heart. As some dark moments may be uncomfortable to get through.

I am never disappointed by Anise Storm’s books, and this one is certainly no different! I really loved the amount of depth for each character as they each brought something to the story that felt necessary. I didn’t feel weighed down by details that could’ve easily been left out. I enjoyed the darkness of the story, but as always, the trigger warnings are deeply appreciated. Deadly Intentions is emotionally charged, full of revenge, and plenty of incredibly steamy scenes. Reading about Viviana’s elaborate quest for revenge elicits plenty of emotion…and not all negative by a long shot. I highly recommend picking this one up and giving it a chance because Anise is a brilliant author that has delivered yet another exhilarating story!

This book is so good! One of the best mafia stories I have ever read. However, it definitely comes with plenty of dark moments and a trigger warning that should definitely be read and taken into consideration. Nazario and Viviana are very complex characters and I really enjoyed reading them. This author always knows how to create a memorable story and this is easily one of the best that she has done. I loved how dark ad gritty it was and could have read more.

Phew! Make sure you read Ms. Storm’s trigger warning note before you begin! If, after that you still are in you won’t be disappointed. Our FMC lost her vivacious best friend in a NYC girls trip. In an effort to get revenge she transforms herself from studious and shy to a femme fatale with the help of a mafia family. Using her skills she becomes the mistress of the head of the Vaccaro crime family but has feelings for the son. The MMC doesn’t want to be distracted by his father’s mistress. He has goals, take down his father then take over as head of the family. Both are at odds with one another while fighting their desires. While it does get dark and does have a couple of slow parts, ultimately the story is 1000% worth the journey!

Deadly IntentionsDeadly Intentions by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this! It wasn’t entirely what I was expecting, it was a lot darker, but I enjoyed that it was different and not the same typical story I was used to reading.
The chemistry between the two main characters, Viviana and Nazario, is charged and well written, you can feel it come off the pages. They are both such strong characters, written so well and even though there were frustrating moments where you want to knock some sense into them and scream at them to just communicate, these ‘flaws’ in the characters work for their personalities and the story.
There are elements to the romance (and other plot points) which can be very dark and I would not recommend this as a read for everyone, but if you enjoy dark, suspenseful, steamy novels, then this book is for you. Please make sure you read the trigger warnings before reading and seriously consider whether this book is right for you.
The book is very well written and flows nicely. My only criticism would be that on occasion things could feel unnecessarily repetitive, relaying information already obtained etc. but this was such a minor issue, it didn’t detract from the story for me.
The author has a great way of writing that pulls you in so not only do you see yourself in the settings, but you also find yourself feeling the emotions of the characters which was both thrilling, and heart-breaking.
This was my first book by this author, but it most certainly won’t be my last!

I recommend this book, but as previously stated read the trigger warnings first! This book is not for everyone.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Viviana was a happy teenage until one night her best friend was killed in the street in front of her. Viviana then devoted her life to tracking down her murderer and exacting the same outcome as her friend but can she infiltrate one of the most deadliest worlds and come out the other side.

Nazario is the son of a mafia boss, ruthless in nature and unyielding and unforgiving when it comes to his business, the night his father killed the Mayor’s daughter was the night that Nazario saw her, meek and mild, utterly heartbroken over her friend but he needed her to escape as he should have killed her also there and then, but she awakened something in him which has him dreaming about her now. Until one night he sees the blonde woman with his father.

Viviana has trained for this moment to seek revenge for her friend and killing Nazario’s father is her soul mission even if it means death.

Oh I love a good Mafia novel and this one is brilliant. I have read many by this author and they do not disappoint, with the driven storylines and brilliant writing you are emersed in the dark world of the Mafia and it is fascinating to read. I loved that Viviana was a strong character with determination to do anything to seek revenge but showing the passion she had in the end for Nazario was an emotional rollercoaster. Nazario’s vulnerability towards Viviana and how she has the power to destroy him but that she is worth the risks. There are some hard parts to read regarding abuse and violence, but I think this adds to the characters of the leads in this book.

I can’t wait to read more books by this author going forward.

I love myself a good mafia read and this is just what the doctor ordered !!!!

Viviana and her best friend had their lives ahead of them until she was killed in cold blood in an alley and a dark stranger with memorable eyes told her to forget everything but how can she , her best friend was killed in front of her in cold blood and while she may not have been able to save her she’s determined to avenge even if it means sleeping with the devil himself and that is just what Stefano is …..

Stefano has a son and he knows who she is it’s his “ alley girl” and he’s still wanting to protect her at any cost and there’s nothing like a mafia boy with heart to melt me into puddles , yes yes I’m a sick puppy I know 🔥🤷‍♀️🫶🏼😉

Nazario and Viviana have an extremely tangible chemistry it just pours off them and I had to jerk a fan nearby so my kindle didn’t melt 🔥

These two not only had me on fire but my nerves were shattered , they’re dark ,, beautiful and dangerous !

I found this book to be a little slow for my liking. I thought it would be a little more fast paced, but I found I lost a little interest in it about halfway. Overall, the writing, the characters, the romance, the plot itself was all well planned out are amazing, but I felt like the book was not what I thought it would be like. It felt like there was too much just stuff thrown in there that didn’t need to be, which made it drag in some spots. I did read this book in one sitting. The ending however did not disappoint, and im happy I stuck with this book till the end. Overall, it wasn’t a bad read, and I would recommend if someone wanted a not so fast paced mafia romance book. But for me I needed something more.

Nazario is equally drawn to Viviana and vows to make her his at all costs. Before long they can no longer deny the attraction and an intense, passion filled affair develops between them. Will Stefano learn of his son and mistress’ betrayal? Will Viviana get her long sought after revenge?

This book had everything one would expect from a dark mafia crime novel; deceit, revenge, lust, passion, and betrayal. Stefano was cold, calculating and showed no remorse in anything he did throughout his career as a crime boss. Viviana was once what someone might consider to be quiet and mousy but when tragedy struck it changed her. The only thing that she could think of was exacting revenge on those responsible for the murder of her best friend. The trauma she suffered turned her into someone else and she learned to shut off her feelings until Nazario resurfaced in her life. He was the son of the man responsible for her friend’s death and although she hates him she is consumed by desire for him. Nazario feels equally attracted to Viviana and knows what her true intentions are towards his father but it does not deter him from pursuing his feelings for Viviana. The attraction is undeniable and the two of them share some passionate and steamy moments.

Deadly Intentions by Anise Storm – Review by M Policicchio

Deadly IntentionsDeadly Intentions by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Know your triggers. Read and Heed the content warnings. This one has a few. Despite the dark material the story is sound and interesting. What happens when the one that ignites your soul is the one that shouldn’t, the one that can’t, is your more than just your enemy?

Viviana’s life was forever changed when she found her best friend murdered. Viviana only had one purpose after that, revenge. She found someone willing to help her to get it. A mafia family trained her to be a weapon and withstand all the brutalities that her target exhibited. The only problem with her plan was the target’s son. He wasn’t supposed to look at her with those unique eyes and relight her long dead heart. He wasn’t supposed to touch her and set her skin on fire like she never knew she would feel. He wasn’t supposed to make her feel in any way because he wasn’t supposed to be there.

Nazario knew what he was supposed to do with his life. Keep it together long enough to take his father out and then take his father’s empire for his own. Nazario wasn’t expecting a kink in his plans. He wasn’t expecting her. When Viviana showed up on the arm of his father, Nazario was shocked and doubtful of her intentions. He told her to go. He told her to let him do what he needed to do. She did not listen. Now not only are his plans at stake, but his heart and her life.

The story is carefully weaved between Nazario and Viviana’s POVs with some flashbacks for good measure. I found myself wanting to scream at the characters just to talk to each other, to explain their feelings, not just to assume or overthink the situation. But I guess that is why I am a reader not a writer. I want to know if Nazario ever gets over his hang ups about his family history and they have a baby! Solid read.
