The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 1) by India Kells – Review by Shelly Kittell

The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance)The Debt Collector by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was full of action, intrigue and mystery. Dr. Tessa Freeman is an ER doctor just tyring to do her job and also help rescue girls from human trafficking. Yep, she sees her share. During one particular shift, this sexy sea-green eyed hunk (Locke) walks into her ER for some stitches. He’s a hottie that gets under her skin. Fake name, hot looks, troubled past, you know there’s trouble there. He takes off right after she’s done and disappears from her life. After helping the next girl that comes in who’s really torn up, the trouble hits…. you’re going to have to read the book for more). Well-written in the matter that the story is fast paced with action that pulls you in. The twist plots thrown in factored in just nice. The characters were so well described. Mabel reminded me of Maggie off Chicago Hope with her attitude. Tessa is a badass that shows she is pretty strong. She even helped Locke see that he could let her in to his heart. I would have lost it but she kept it together. This is an erotic romance so there is lots of steam. A little of everything for all the romance lovers. I recommend this.

I really enjoyed this fast paced romance. It has danger, love, passion and steamy scenes all culminating to make one great read. The characters are really well written and I like how they work so well together.

Spring’s Calling (Seasons of Magic Book 1) by Sarah Biglow – Review by Shelly Kittell

Spring's Calling (Seasons of Magic, #1)Spring’s Calling by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I found this to be a very interesting story of a policewoman trying to hide who she is. Born with magic, Ezri doesn’t want to use or she just uses enough to help her get promotions. The book was original. The story was intriguing. Ezri really needed to come to terms with who she is . Trying to find her mom’s killer, she would need that magic. The characters were unique and quite interesting because you had a mix of the mundane and the magical. That made for a fascinating mix in the story. I could have used a little more excitement in the story but I am an adventure junkie (I admit it). This is a good story overall that I think fans of urban fantasy are going to love and want to read.

An Alien Storm (Soldiers of Saedo #4) by Calla Zae

This is not the first read by the author. This is my first read of the series. An Alien Storm is the fourth book of the Soldiers of Saedo. An Alien Storm had me hooked from the beginning.

Vanessa is a chef on a planet away from Earth. Three of her sisters have already found their forever mates and it might be her turn next. After her failed marriage, can she let another man in? The quote I chose for Vanessa is: “There’s nothing wrong with admiring a beautiful man. It’s like how I appreciate an enticing entrée when it’s placed before me.”

Arkon is a star-being. A green one to be exact. He likes to know the outcome of things around him. Then he meets Vanessa and can’t seem to stay away. The quote I chose for Arkon is: “I like to know exactly where things fall. I don’t like to leave things to chance. I make my own solution based on facts. Sometimes, I make an educated guess based on data I’ve collected.”

Highly recommended for Sci-Fi Romance lovers.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great read and totally enjoyable. I picked up this book not knowing what was in store and I am new to the author and it was such a good book. Mix in star like beings, humans, sci fi and romance I am totally game!

This book follows Vanessa and Arkon. Since living in Saedo, Vanessa and her sisters have really come to be welcomed by the Saedo since being rescued. Vanessa comes with some fears and baggage as she struggles to find herself after a failed marriage. Arkon is a Saedo soldier and all business. He is all about charts and numbers and Vanessa’s presence throws him for an unexpected attraction. Will Vanessa and Arkon find love while battling no only personal walls but lurking creatures?

I loved how these two characters really grew throughout the book, especially Vanessa. The story continued to flow so easily and really was a great read. Looking forward to reading more of this series!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read this book with my 6-year-old daughter and we enjoyed this fun little book. We liked the way it ended as we had a great discussion about what else the pencil would write. I liked the openness of the ending as it did open the floor for us to talk. Would we want a know-it-all pencil? It might be fun to solve the puzzle of what it is trying to tell us one word at a time.

While I have not read the previous three books in this series, our author does a great job of bringing us up to speed on her characters and plot. Full of romance, relationships, drama, chemistry, and more I just simply couldn’t put this book down. This particular story follows Vanessa a human chef is just trying to make her new life work, but it seems that her old life comes back to haunt her. Akron is the soldier that saved her, when they say that opposites attract that was definitely the case with these two. So if your looking for a short but good story then look this one up today. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.

This book was adorable and educational. My nieces loved it. The characters are fun and the storyline is great at teaching a few water tricks that also helps kids learn a bit more and water and it’s abilities in a fun way. The illustrations were great and fun to look at. All in all a fun read that has some fun learning along with it. My nieces and I definitely give this book a big four stars and highly recommend it.

This story is a very cute kid’s story about a pencil that can write by itself. This pencil takes Caspian on an adventure by writing one-word clues.

This story is short, fun and easy to read. I would have read this to my preschool class and my own children when they were younger. Even the pictures are cute.

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Dr. Anya Schultz

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance, #3)The Fighter by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jonathan Gage is a MMA fighter who grew up on the streets with violence all around. He tried leaving his old life behind, but just could never stay away from the underground circuit. Along his journey towards a new beginning, he finds himself aiding newcomers, Ten and Juliet, to the circuit and they all find themselves messing with the wrong guy. Ten and Juliet have been friends for some time, but Ten is always making bad decisions while Julient is trying to get him out of them. The three of them, in trying to survive this ordeal, build a budding friendship and romantic exploration. Ten is trying to figure out who he is, Juliet is trying to portray who she was always afraid of, and Gage can’t seem to leave the life he used to have, but so badly wanting a life of love and happiness. They will have to work together and be open to their vulnerabilities if they want to have a future.

When I first started reading the book I was not sure how I was going to like it. The book premise and relationships in the story moved very quickly, which I wasn’t against. I did think the dynamics were a little odd and unrealistic, to me. However, as the characters started to change and develop, I started to really like Gage and Juliet. Ten is a fine character but I wasn’t finding anything too special about him. The three of them do have some smut going on around them that is quite raunchy at the beginning, but you can start to see the caring and/or love dynamic start to take place. I enjoyed how the book ended.

Spring’s Showers (Romantically Seasonal Series) by C.A. King – Review by Kayla Kearney

Spring's Showers: Romantically Seasonal: SpringSpring’s Showers: Romantically Seasonal: Spring by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As someone who has been reading a lot of books centering around mythology lately, this was the perfect book for me. I love the twist that the author has put on the more popular ‘fantasy’ figures in this book.

The first book in the series focuses on Mother Nature after she and other popular mythological figures make a bet that they could do Cupids job without issue. I loved watching Mother Nature impersonate a kind old lady just trying to start a new life, and it was hilarious watching her get used to living in the real world. By the end of the book, I was rooting for Mother Nature to be victorious in her quest, having fallen head over heels in love with her.

This is not my first book by the author and it certainly won’t be the last. I love her writing style, attention to detail, and the many characters she has written up. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Shannon Fowler

The Fighter (An Underground Bad Boys Romance, #3)The Fighter by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is the third book in this series and the perfect ending for these Underground Bad Boys. Gage, Ten and Juliet are under dogs in this story. But they are also the sexy team that pulls this story together. Ten and Juliet are the best of friends with the hint of wanting something more. When they are introduced to Gage in the most interesting of ways, the wanting increases and includes Gage.

Thanks to a bad choice, a target is place on Ten and in turn Juliet. Gage may be their only hope at success. However, Ten and Juliet in return, save Gage from himself. When a person, fictional or real, has a past that they feel has broken them, Juliet said it best:

“It’s not important who we were, but who we are now and in the future.”

This story was easy to read and follow. Even though it is the third in the series, it can be read as a standalone. There are appearances by Knox and Locke from the first two books in this series, which if you haven’t read, will just make you want to read them.

I definitely recommend this book, series and author. This series is erotic in nature and is not recommended for readers under 18 or those with delicate sensibilities.

This is a fast-paced, quick, easy science fiction romance read. I did enjoy reading this one, and it can be read as a standalone book. I have not read any of the previous books in this series and I didn’t feel like I missed much. There were a few times that I wished I had some more background information but that contribute to the ending or my feelings about this book at all. It was interesting to me see just how creative this authors mind is, especially in regards to the cuisine in this book and the edible lingerie. If you like steamy, easy sci-fi reads then this one is for you!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the Soldiers of Saedo series, but it can be read as a standalone. There are references to the first books, but you do not have to read them to understand what is going on.

An Alien Storm is a quick, action-packed alien romance with some soft gooey parts. Vanessa is a creative chef who has a traumatic past and is learning to trust her gut again. Arkon is a logical, analytical person who is learning to think outside the box. It would seem they are opposites, but I love how Arkon put it – they are polarities, which isn’t a bad thing.

Overall this story is imaginative, interesting, and well-written. The 2 main characters connect instantly, and they have a whirlwind romance.

An alien romance with opposites and a tormented past to overcome? Yes. Please. I was very excited to read this book, but I will say unfortunately the romance and back story fell flat. It felt like things were resolved too quickly and made it hard for me to really feel for the characters. That being said, the world building in this story was well done, and I found myself intrigued on where this book was going and the details of the over arcing mystery. I think there is more than meets the eye with this tale. I am curious to continue!

This book easily had to be my favourite of the series so far. I couldn’t put my finger in exactly what but something really resonated with me about this story. The emotion entrenched in this story completely takes over everything. It felt like this book, and these characters, completely enveloped me.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a BWWM, enemies to lovers, billionaire romance. I have read this author several times and have enjoyed her work, but I struggled with this book.
I didn’t like the main female character Zenni. She really annoyed me and I just couldn’t relate to her at all. The more the story continued, the more annoying I found her to be. She seemed very petty and stroppy and just overall unlikable to me.
I did like the main male character Colton. I could relate to him and found him to be very likable. I loved his cheeky arrogance.
The overall storyline was ok but I felt that the book was over all too quickly. At only 89 pages this is a story that could have been expanded and given more detail. Although, to be honest I was kinda glad to finally put Zenni to the back burner.
As much as I struggled with this particular book, I’ve enjoyed many of this author’s books, so it won’t put me off reading her work again.

Targeting Dart (Satan’s Devils MC #4) by Manda Mellett – Review by Ashleyann Sanabria

I don’t think there is a single book in this series that I haven’t liked so far! I appreciate that the author took on the issues of race and body shaming in this book. There were parts that were a bit upsetting, but the book overcomes both these issues fairly well. The story was filled with heartache and adversity. Alex is shy and traumatized. Her story is tragic and heartfelt. Seeing how she changes and grows into herself was great, especially since her body was described similarly to my own. Dart was just another member, but his growth in this book was great to see too. In general, this book has everything you will come to love and expect about a Satan’s Devil’s MC novel: found family, love, tenacity, tragedy, violence, to get to her you have to go through me, and a brotherhood so strong it can overcome all odds. Despite being wonderfully familiar, the author manages to still surprise and enthrall the reader with plot twists and turns you never expect. A perfect balance of exciting and familiar that guarantees I keep picking up her books! Give the Satan’s Devils MC a try. Note that the story has many books, and there is overlap even if the book is based in a difference chapter of the MC. I recommend reading in publication order but pick these up!

An Alien Storm is the fourth book in the Soldiers of Saedo series. I really enjoyed this book. It is a gem! Despite reading An Alien Storm without reading the first 3 books in the series, it was very easy to follow. I really enjoyed the world-building and absolutely adored the interactions between Vanessa and Arkon. They are both intriguing and relatable characters and they have sweet, sexy chemistry. The plot is well developed and has quite a bit of action. There were a lot of great laugh-out-loud moments. I plan to go back and read the first 3 and then the fifth book.

This was a story that was well worth a read! I do love vampire stories, and I love ones that come from authors that create a world that is beyond my imagination. That is exactly what this author created and did. I was mesmerized and blown away through out my reading, freaking amazing good read!

Vampires and humans are thrown together really in a epic finale in this book. I honestly did not expect so many twists and turns that I was shown and experienced. It was a remarkable book, and a lot happens, some good, and some bad, and well I need not say more. I was on the edge of my seat through out my reading, I will say some parts I was caught off guard, the ending is for sure something that shocked me and I honestly did not see coming. Which made this book more of what it was, and was fantastic in that sense! I really loved how a action could define something through out this book, it was such a good read and I highly enjoyed it. I am very glad I got to enjoy this book for all it was! I truly loved the writing!

This is for sure a must read author, must read series, and must read book! I can not get enough out of this experience. I loved it so much! Highly recommend this book! A must read for sure!
