When I read the summary of this novel, I expected something different. The characters were good. I believe they were well thought out and flowed well together.
I do, however, feel like the world building could have been better for a fantasy novel. There were many times I could not picture where the characters were or what they were doing.
I was also taken aback by all of the cursing. I understand that here in the United States, many people’s language consists primarily of foul language, but there are so many other adjectives that could have been utilized in my opinion.
Overall, I was left wanting more out of this book. Perhaps I am being too harsh after just reading a different fantasy novel, but this just was not what I was hoping for. And hopefully more details come in the second book in the series! It was a relatively short novel and I feel that a little bit more detail could have gone a long way.

This book sees the return of Detective Dylan, his sister Emily and dog Theodore and this time, they are off to the local park to practice playing ball, it is a Saturday and a lot of the local kids go there to practice, however, when they get there, the coach can’t find the home plate and without this and the other plates, they can’t practice.
Fortunately, Dylan has brought his detective kit from the Youth Sleuths and so Dylan, Emily and Theodore head out into the park to investigate where the plate has gone and who had taken it, but as with all investigations, the answer is not as straightforward as it seems.
Will the trio be able to fund the plates and save the day, or will practice just have to be postponed until they are returned another day? This is a wonderful way to show the importance of communities, collaboration, fun and of course, investigating where you will follow along on the hunt and discover lots of other things along the way.

Cy Sweet is the youngest son of the Sweet family, owners of the Sweetopia family friendly theme park, he is one of three and is a typical young man who lives his life without any worries about money, just where he can next go study architecture, the arts and anything else which takes his fancy, he is always thought of as the lazy one by his family, someone who doesn’t really contribute anything and now he is being told that he has to start pulling his weight. Jolie Cox is a woman with a family of her own, with two sons and lives with her mum and they are a very close family, she does everything she can to look after them, including working long hours at two jobs and making ends meet, her main job being at Sweetopia, playing their main character the Red Velvet Queen.
One day, the Sweets hold a family meeting where Cy is told that there is a rebellion forming within Sweetopia and that rumours of strikes and boycotts have come to the families attention, so Cy is told that he is going in undercover to try and work out who the ringleaders are, how they are being organised and where, so he dons a disguise and is sent into the bakery as a seasonal temp so that he can find out the information his family wants and he also has a strict time limit to find this all out. Meanwhile, Jolie is having to organise her work hours so that she can care for her son who is having to go into hospital again so that he can get his treatment for his Cystic Fibrosis, as well as looking after her other son between appointment in her second job and it is exhausting for her, not to mention the guilt she feels for having to ask her mum for help the whole time.
This is where Cy goes wandering in the employee corridors before his shift and it is also when he meets the Red Velvet Queen for the first time, he is stunned by her and cannot help but sneak into the throne room and pay her a visit and Jolie is immediately taken with him too, he seems to be her ideal type, so when he starts to meet her in her dressing room, she is open to a bit of fun and so is Cy, but neither can afford to become too attached. As the two become better acquainted, Cy is beginning to see things through a new lens and it has him shocked, but will he be able to root out the rebellious coworkers and figure out who the ringleader is and what will happen between himself and Jolie if what they have is built on secrets? This is a steamy romance where secrets and lies are currency and feelings grow in a bed of deceit, but what happens when the truth comes out is something you will have to read through this enticing book to find out.

The True Purpose Of Vines I really enjoyed this historical romance. The author does an amazing job with the writing to actually transport you to Portugal. You feel like you are there seeing the sights and smelling and tasting the wonders it offers.
I love our leading lady Julia. She is a very strong lady who has had to overcome a lot to keep hold of her port wine business in a world that only sees men as capable for the job. Julia’s determination and passion comes through in this story as she fights to prove she is just as good as any man and save her sons legacy.
Griffin has been sent to visit Julia to see about money that was lent to expand the business. He goes there with one purpose and the thought of finding someone who would steal his heart isn’t that purpose. However the heart wants what it wants and Griddin and Julia’s story proves to be just as passionate as Julia is about her wine. However things are plain sailing and when secrets come to light and decisions made is the couple’s love going to be strong enough for them to survive or will it tear them apart.
The Taste of light This is a beautifully written romance sent in Portugal in 1872. It is the second book in The Winemakers series but it can be read as a standalone and still really enjoyed.I can’t express how beautiful the author’s language and story telling in. There is so much emotion put into every page that the reader cant help but feel every emotion along with the characters which makes the story completely captivating. It is a historical romance and the author does an amazing job of transporting the reader back to those times. Our main characters Pedro and Anne seem such an unlikely match at first but as the story progresses we see the same strength and determination in them back.
This story is action packed as Pedro’s past comes back to haunt him and he struggles to make amends for it all. When his marriage to a princess falls through and he is accused of an attempt on the Kings life he is forces to go on the run. Anne is a young sweet innocent girl who just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and finds herself on an adventure with Pedro that she never expected or imagined. She may seem young but inside she had a fire and a determination which makes her a fascinating character to read about. Add to this the fact that she is the sister of something Pedro has had problems with in his past, could their meeting be a coincidence? A way to maybe make amends? Or just another mistake that Pedro could pay for dearly.
The Truth About Myths This is the 3rd book in The Winemakers Series. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone, however I feel once you read one you will want to read them all. This is a historical romance, enemies to lovers story. I love the chemistry between our main characters as they seem to play a cat and mouse game with each other. I also love the fire in Isabel, she is a princess but a princess who isn’t afraid to speak her mind which is refreshing for the time period the story is set in. This story has so many beautiful elements from the characters themselves to the authors amazing writing which transports the reader back in time and describes the places so vividly it feels like you are there. If you like historical romances full of twists and turns, a little danger, a sense of doing your duty and what is expected of you along with secrets and hidden agendas to uncover this book has something for everyone.

This being my first book from this author and it having such an interesting premise I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect, but it did deliver. Sugar and Spice gets all of the originality points because I haven’t heard of an adult theme park with cosplay. I mean the adult, incredibly spicy, version of Disney World what an idea. The author wrote her characters so real and they had depth. I think it would be the perfect rainy day, or beach read book.

This FF Paranormal read was a fun short read that I enjoyed one evening. This book focuses on side characters that were in book one, So I feel like reading these in order would give the best reading experience! All different types of supernatural characters were included in this book (which I loved) and I enjoyed this way this book flowed. The main characters grabbed my attention and I loved that there was a stalker( awful for Millicent, great for story telling lol). I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future!!

I was eagerly anticipating this book…..Finding Cheer is Book 2 in the Magical Emerald Hollow series and this story was wonderful. Who would not want to live in Emerald Hollow! I highly recommend reading book 1 as you get to know the characters that lead into Finding Cheer. This story is a sweet, small town romance with sprinkle of magic, some heartfelt moments and a few twists. I am keeping my fingers crossed for more from this series…

I have had the pleasure of reading several books by Ms. Alexander, including the first release of this book and I have a certain expectation when I start one of her books. I’m happy to report I wasn’t disappointed with this book.
I thought the book taking place at a theme park was amazing and was something new at least for me.
Jolie and her story are both sad and empowering. She was willing to do whatever it takes to provide for her sons and she did just that. Being a single mother isn’t an easy job in any sense but add in two jobs on top of everything else makes Jolie a rock star.
Cy wasn’t the most likeable in the beginning, but there was a shift in him as the story progressed and by the end I loved him.
Once again Ms. Alexander delivers a great book which I will continue to expect from her. Looking forward to reading the rest of this series.

I enjoyed this story and the characters but something about the storyline felt very forced. I wanted to read this as if it came so naturally. I was hoping for a hook that would hit that point and everything falls into place.

I recently rediscovered Phoebe Alexander and was really excited to start another series by this author. Sugar and Spice is the first book in the Spicetopia series. I enjoyed the book and felt it was a great introduction to the main and supporting characters. The characters had chemistry and spice, as the title may elude. While the storyline of a single mother finding love is not necessarily new or uncommon,, this was a different approach and pulled off well. Not atypical of Phoebe Alexander. I genuinely look forward to reading the next book in the series.
These were my first books by Giovanna Siniscalchi and I can say for certain they won’t be my last. The author was able to paint the picture of the vineyards and Portugal countryside to perfection. I imagined it many times in my head while I was reading. All three books feature redemption stories but none of the characters are too similar. This is one of my favourite tropes in all of romance writing. Bad boys and the women who open their minds and hearts to change.
In The True Purpose of Vines, we are introduced to the Duoro region of Portugal I always love reading about a strong female MC and Julia is just that. Her passion for wine shines throughout. I enjoyed the journey of Griffin’s character from the start of the book to the finish.
In The Taste of Light, we are introduced to Anne, Griffin’s sister. She ends up on the run with Pedro who we met in the first book. This story captured my heart. I love a good broken man redemption story.
In The Truth about Myths, Henrique is tasked with escorting Princess Isobel to Spain by the King. Clashing personalities are put to the test. Another great love story.

Wow!! This book surprised me. I really didn’t expect to enjoy this one as much as I did. If you love a good spicy suspenseful romance story, then this is the book for you. The world building and characters was wonderful. The details in the story was amazing. I can’t wait to read the rest in the series.
I am so happy that this author decided to put together a box set because it is one of my favorites from her! If you enjoy historical romance and all that comes with it, do yourself a favor and pick these up.
The True Purpose of Vines I had accidentally read the second book in the series first, so I obviously ran back to pick this one up. I’m pleased to say that it is simply magnificent! Historical romance is one of my favorite genres and this may be one of my very top books in that category right now. The way the author paints Portugal throughout this story is beyond magical. You feel like you are truly there experiencing the country itself. I loved Julia as she is such a strong female character especially in the time period where women were supposed to be meeker. I didn’t particularly like Griffin at first, but he definitely grows on you if you give him a chance. I highly recommend picking this book up to find out for yourself!
The Taste of Light I didn’t realize this was a series until I started the book, so I definitely went back to read the first one! Even without reading the first, I was able to follow along well enough and enjoy the entire story. I feel the author did an amazing job with this emotional romance. I especially enjoyed the beautifully written scenery throughout the story which helped pull everything together for me. It was absolutely a book that I breezed right through and needed to know what was going to happen next. I’m excited to see what the author has planned for the third book! I highly recommend picking this up and reading it in order to get the full effect.
The Truth About Myths I have enjoyed this series so much and this installment has made it even better! If you are at all into historical romance, then you can stop reading this review and just pick up the book/series. It’s absolutely worth it! I neglected a lot of responsibilities to read this book because I just couldn’t pull myself away. We get to follow Isabel and Henrique in this book and trust me when I say they will make you swoon! This has been my favorite book in the series so far, and I hope the author continues this world because it is phenomenal. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is into historical romance, but even if you aren’t, I believe you will enjoy this book just as well!

The speed that I devoured this book felt like it was a split-second! I read this in one sitting because I couldn’t pull myself away. I can’t remember the last time the first book in a series blew me away like this. This is the second book I’ve read by this author, and that’s all it took for me to be a die-hard fan. The way she expertly crafts a plot that completely absorbs you from the first chapter is unbelievable! While there are plenty of steamy scenes in this book, the author doesn’t rely on it to carry the story at all. You’ll be taken on an emotional rollercoaster as Jolie works her hardest to provide for her children, one having cystic fibrosis and needing a lot of care. Cyrus meets Jolie and sparks fly, but they’re both hiding something that could change everything. I highly recommend this sweet and spicy romance and bet you won’t be able to put it down either. I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the books in this series!
Firstly, it’s unique. I have never read anything like this before. It takes our human world and then the fantasy world and shows how it all “could” coexist, in a sense. It was spectacular! The character development for me was incredible! The love story, also so great! I am so glad I took the chance on this book, knowing it’s the start of a series and I can’t continue on. I usually wait to start series once they are almost all released because I have zero patience! Hope they make this into a movie even one day. Would love to see it brought to life. Highly recommend!!!!!

4.5 stars Texas Winds is a heartbreaking and heartwarming small-town contemporary romance that has a little suspense and tension. It is easy to imagine the world that Dana has created and feel the wind on your skin as you get lost in the story. The story kind of kicks you in the feels in the beginning as emotions threaten to overwhelm you. Dana has given us a heartfelt complex tale but simplistic in its telling. The characters feel real with substance and vulnerability, and you will fall in love with them. I love that Dana writes in dual POV because it adds depth to a story, and you get inside their thoughts. Jake is a man who know a lot about the worst kind of betrayal and pain enough to make him a shell of a man he used to be. But he can no longer hide as he finds his heart being put back together piece by piece. But is he willing to take a leap of faith again. One precious little girls heart may depend on it. I look forward to reading more of Dana Wayne’s books.

Scotland: Stunning, Strange, and Secret is part of a three book guide set that aims to educate potential tourists on the ins and outs of the country. Where should you go? What should you see? Suggestions on local cuisine? You will find all of that and more! You will also get some tidbits of history, culture, and lore in this all in one travel guide. The format and layout of the book was a little off to me, as it seems out of order or thrown together in some areas. I do not know the accuracy of the lore or history, but I did find that to be engaging and entertaining for a guide book. This book does hold potential and gives the untraveled tourist a glimpse into what Scotland has to offer. I think this book would be useful if I were to ever head over and would still recommend it for travel purposes.

I love the fact that all three books in this series are in a boxset as it meant I could ‘binge read’ the whole series. Each book is an enjoyable and engaging historical romance which transported me back to Portugal in the 1870’s, and to the sun drenched Douro Valley amongst the vineyards. In ‘The True Purpose of Vines’, Julia Costa is the best winemaker in Douro but has debts following her husband’s death. When Englishman Griffin Maxwell turns up threatening her vineyards the pair clash, but they must work together when the vineyards are in danger from a mysterious plague. They must decide to either allow their cultural differences to keep them apart, or fight for love. In ‘The Taste of Light’, Aristocrat Pedro Daun is haunted by his sins, so when he meets Anne Maxwell despite their instant connection he acts badly, not wanting her soiled by his past. Following a false accusation against Pedro the couple are forced to run, whilst hiding from an enemy the couple’s passion is ignited. In ‘The Truth about Myths’, we get a rare look into Portuguese royalty’s world. Princess Isabel de Orleans travels to Spain to help with a diplomatic crisis on behalf of her brother, the King. Accompanying Isabel is Henrique, Viscount Penafiel who she sees as a charming rake. However, their mutual attraction turns to lust when she sees a different side to him. As political concerns escalate and with both Portugal’s independence and Isabel at risk Henrique takes drastic action to save his country and Isabel. Each story is a wonderfully written and obviously well researched historical romance and I was captivated throughout each story. The beautiful settings are brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative and along with the added historical details I felt transported back in time and place to Portugal and the vineyards. The characters are all likeable and relatable and I loved how each couple’s chemistry came across in the story and how their relationships developed. The mix of winemaking, Portuguese culture, amazing settings, exciting storylines and well defined characters, and of course romance made each novel in this boxset a real page turner. I definitely recommend ‘binge reading’ them all!

England: Cultured, Classic, and Charming is your all in one travel guide for tourists, complete with well known attractions and hidden gems. The book focuses partially on the culture and history of England, and doubles as a source for where to go, what to see, and the best ways to do it. As someone that has never been to the UK, I really enjoyed that suggested cuisine was also part of the information provided. I was not a fan of how the information was laid out, without a table of contents to find exactly what I wanted. I did appreciate that it feels aimed at American tourists and is conversational in nature. Overall, If I were to plan to go to England, this would be a nice book to have handy.

As soon as I saw this book was the sequel to the first I knew I had to read it. And I think this is even better than the last a brilliant book from start to finish. For me, this book was all about the characters. I found them so easy to connect with and completely relatable. From the moment I started reading I wanted to know more. I think the author did a fantastic job in developing this story. I was engaged with the story right away and I loved watching how everything played out. The author somehow managed to create the same joy you feel with a festive read without it feeling out of place. I loved the way it made me feel and how the story unfolded. Getting to read more about the characters from the previous book was just the icing on top. This is a brilliant book that I would highly recommend.
I was not prepared for the steam to start at practically the beginning but I am here for it. This tale of two people who need and want each other but aren’t willing to admit it is well written and fabulous. When I found out what Stuart did, I wanted to reach through my screen and slap him!! What a jerk and other words that I can’t use in book reviews!! 😃
Emma got burned by her ex, Stuart, and now doesn’t trust anyone. So for the last two years she had been happy to tend to her needs one guy, one night at a time. But Emma knew he was different when he walked into the bar. He put in the time and effort to get her to say yes to a date. But, she can’t let herself fall for him.
Liam has not had the best of luck with women. Most are after his money and not him. One chose to be his father’s mistress instead. Yeah, Liam is good with ONS. Until Liam met her. For some reason, it could be that she is his best friend’s wife’s best friend, but there is more and Liam doesn’t understand it. Emma is beautiful and desirable but there is so much more to her. Liam’s first instincts towards Emma are protective and an interest to know more. Liam knows that his history won’t let it be any more than smexyfuntimes.
Yet as Emma and Liam spend time together, they each break down each other’s walls, not knowing that they are falling for each other. When Liam concocts a scheme to gain early access to his trust fund, Emma goes along with it. When secrets from the past and people who won’t let go threaten their future, they make decisions that bring them closer together.
There are many great characters in this book. I hope we get to see the relationship between Zack and Melanie develop!! Jump in now! Read this book.

This is the first book in the Spicetopia series. I have loved this series. The author does any incredible job of mixing a steamy read with characters that are relatable and really bring the stories to life. This is the first time we meet the Sweet family and their amazing park. This story is about Cy and Jolie. There is unease at the park, rumours are going around of the staff planning a strike. With that happening the owners decide to send someone undercover to find out who is behind it all. The person is CY. Dressed as a temp employee and with the additional bonus of a cash reward for finding the person CY takes on the task. He thinks it will be easy and straight forward until he meets Jolie. Jolie plays the Red Velvet Queen, when she meets “Marcus” she keeps him at arms length. Jolie had secrets that she must keep hidden and working two jobs to take care of her responsibilities but as the spark between them grows she can’t keep pushing him away. Both do them are holding secrets and what will the consequences of those secrets be when they are revealed. Will it tear them apart? And when Cy sees just how the staff are treated by his parents, will Cy carry on the plan his mother and father have sent him to do or will he decide to support the workers and the woman he is falling for?
I loved this steamy romance and I loved watching the character growth of both Jolie and Cy. They are so suited for each other but there are so much between them that they have a lot to overcome if they are going to succeed in a relationship.
This is such a fantastic start to the series and I cannot wait for the next book to come out. When Aeris literally collides with Callum and he can see her, that sets off a series of events that neither of them is ready for. This is such a fast-paced novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat and up way past your bed time. The plot lines and character developments are *chef’s kiss* and when you realize that 10…yes 10 authors are writing this series it’s mind-blowing. This book has it all…paranormal, otherworldly, intrigue. New Orleans voodoo, magic, mystery, action, romance, passion, just to name a few. I couldn’t put this down and you won’t be able to either. Another cute story in this series. we have some magic and a little mystery with some romance to top it all off. I enjoyed the story and the characters. While this one is about Sofia and her amnesia man we also get to see old friends from the last story. I like that I get to see how everyone is doing from the last book. I wonder why the tulips bloomed there? I must have missed the explanation for why there and elsewhere still had snow. Maybe it’s just a magical place.

Touched : Elemental Passions Book one is written by multiple authors. Wow totally not what I expected when I dove in head first. But holy cow this was much better than I expected. Its loaded with mystery,drama and suspense plus lots of romance. It’s unlike any other Fantasy/ Fairy / Romance I’ve ever read. Get ready to be taken away on this adventure with Aeris who is a rule breaker as she travels to the human world of New Orleans . Be prepared to devour this in one sitting because once you start reading there’s no stopping until you finished. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next.

Ok, so you meet a beautiful female and some things happen you just don’t understand…. The detective in you wants answers and wants her to give them. But the answers…. *MIND BLOWN*
Touched is a romantasy that I can fully get behind! There’s mystery, drama, and best of all ROMANCE!!! I have only read a few books with Fae and other mythical creatures, but out of all of them, this was my fave so far. I love how all of the authors build the scene and each MC story, if I hadn’t known there were multiple authors I would have never suspected it while reading the story. The flow of it is so smooth you would think there was only 1 brilliant mind not 10. Can’t wait until the next book in the series comes out.

Drag Me Down by Landra Graf is the fourth book in the full-throttle cyborg series and can be read as a stand-alone, however, the characters cross over between all of the books..
The development of the characters was nice, and I especially liked how the MMC always took care of his territory making sure they were good while also trying to strive for his end goal. There is excitement, drama, and romance… just picture fast and furious but on Mars and the gangs/territories are family. If you like a great story/plot, AI, cyborgs, and/or revenge stories then this book is definitely for you!
I don’t know if it is because I don’t normally read this genre, or if it would make more sense if I read the other three first, but a lot of the book had me rereading parts to try and make sense. Because of this, I give the book 3.75 stars but someone who normally reads this genre might give it more.

Cy is undercover in the park (against his plans) which I feel is one of the reasons he is a tough to like character at the beginning.
