Lindsay Murray did a great job with the characters in the book. How raw each and every character the main and the supporting characters. Alice is a bit like a wild child, but after being abused like she’s been I would act the same. I would believe my life would always be the same after having a life like hers. Rueben wants what he can’t have, like he put his world on a pedestal and don’t really want to move it. This was a book you couldn’t put down, want to keep reading and reading and get overly emotional and angry along with the characters. Would everything be alright in the end or would everything be different? That is what I thought the whole time I was reading the book. There’s a lot of spice in the book and a lot of topics not for the faint at heart. But I would definitely say this is a book for readers that want a bit of spice and everything.

This was nothing like I’ve ever read before. I read the many many warnings prehand and felt capable of handing such scenes or stories. The closest thing I can describe this to would be 50 shades of grey, but multiplied by 10. In darkness and levels of bdsm. Also this was a really long book since it went so far into detail. Which isn’t a bad thing, it made sure all basis we’re covered. However there was some repetitiveness that had me sighing like here we go again. Overall I would call this a good read, definitely not for the faint of heart. Definitely opened my eyes more in the realm of bdsm!

Lindsay Murray has an inapt way to make her characters feel so believable that you can relate to them. Alice is such a brat but her how she talks and carries herself that a woman can see themselves in her. Her mental health is discussed in a way that everyone should talk about it. Alice is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and it is discussed in a great way. Alice was in a previous relationship that was very abusive and wanted nothing serious. Reuben is a dom who losses his partner and he starts to look at like a little differently. Can these two come together and help each other or will they explode?

Not only are the details of the story mouth-watering, but the storyline is also just as great. For people who do not understand BDSM can get the wrong idea. Being with someone is the greatest feeling when your with the right person. How the main characters go about their journey on finding each other was such a rollercoaster. GREAT BOOK

When do lines of dream and reality blur? Reuben has been dreaming of the day he would find the woman whom he had a night with 24 years prior. When he happens upon her while out with friends she is nothing like he expected. Alice has her reasons for having an attitude. She hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to men and she has sworn them off, especially the bossy ones. When Reuben starts to wiggle his way into her life she decides to give it one more shot. What harm could come of it? They have both been hurt in their lives, but maybe they both have a chance at happiness if only Alice can open up her heart.

This book has lots of triggers warnings, so readers make sure you are good before diving into this book. It was an ok book for me, not the best but also not the worst that I’ve read. It is a long read, that could have probably been broken up into 2 books. It was kind of hard for me to keep track and follow all of the different characters as well.

This novel is incredible: the way it is written, the plot, the characters, the romance.. I could not pull myself away from it. The way Rueben and Alice come together is not only incredibly intimate and romantic, but they are also sexy and adorable. The author does an amazing job of creating relatable characters and a storyline that has you desperate for more. I have never read anything by this author before, but I cannot wait to get my hands on more of their work.
Rueben and Alice meet within the BDSM community that they are a part of. The community is not something that I am familiar with, but the author explains it in such a way that any beginner would understand just by reading this novel. What I love about Rueben and Alice’s dynamic is how consensual it is and how Rueben insists on communication to ensure consent throughout their scenes and relationship. I also believe the author stressed that consent is necessary, even within the BDSM community and no matter the kink, which I respect entirely. Please do yourself a favor and read this book!

Ashes of Sin and Stardust is your traditional Romance, BDSM book! The characters were great and it was a pleasure to read. The story is a lesson in not all good things are what you think or are expecting. Rueben has waited for his perfect submissive and when he finds her, she’s nothing like he imagined. Alice shes sassy and has trust issues. Can they make it work?!?

Reuben is a sadist dom who has been having visions of his one true submissive for almost 25 years. Even from a young age, Reuben was completely elated by causing others pain. However, over the last handful of years, Reuben had taken a step back from “playing” with submissives or slaves after losing his last partner. That was until the girl from his visions finally showed up in his life, however, he hates “brats” and that is exactly what Alice is. So you can only imagine their first couple of meetings were completely crazy because he couldn’t believe this was the girl he had been dreaming about. Alice, however, has also been in the kink community for many years as a masochist submissive. Alice is also diagnosed with many mental health disorders, her most challenging being borderline personality disorder. However, she also had a terrible upbringing, and abusive “doms”. Due to her history she has sworn off doms and only wants a dynamic but no relationships. The two of them try their hand at a dynamic and quickly realize this is more than both of them bargained for, but when feelings get involved it is hard to walk away. This story is about this dynamic and the push and pull that both of their messed up ways bring to the table. Can they find the balance in each one of them to accept each other for who they are, and learn to embrace the scary?
There is a lot to say about his book. One, it is long as hell so be prepared. I normally can read a book in a couple of days, but this took me over a week. Two, READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS – there is a ton of abuse and sadistic/masochistic BDSM play – mental health struggles, etc. Three, be prepared for your emotions to feel exhausted. I am sure most can read this for what it is so I may be exaggerating, but as a former counselor, those with borderline disorders can be very challenging. I tend to be pulled in many directions emotionally which may have just been a PTSD thing for me. Either way, you will probably feel exhausted as you read the mood swings that Alice encountered multiple times a day. With all that being said, however, it was a crazy, exhausting, beautiful story. The author captures this part of the BDSM community very well (makes me think she ventures down that avenue) and is very educated in the information. I also believe that the author gives amazing descriptions about Alice and how she is feeling and hits borderline personality right on the head. While each character had many flaws, on purpose, there was a part of me that just couldn’t help but love them. As I mentioned before I was mentally drained by these characters, but I didn’t consider it necessarily a bad thing. I think that if people are dealing with borderline and don’t know how to comprehend it, this may give them words to express their emotions. I think this is going to be a book that people either love or don’t. While I do not take full part in the kink community, I do enjoy different kinks so reading this was not that big of a problem for me – but I did learn that pain is not a way to my orgasm – lol.

Ashes of Sin and Stardust (AnchorX) by Lindsay Murray is a story of two realistic characters that are traumatized and trying to make their way in the world. Be aware there are some things that could be considered as triggers such as: past abuse, mental illness, depression, trauma, and some dark/heartbreaking moments. That being said this is an intriguing read that will leave you still thinking about it for days later.
I absolutely loved that I got to see the characters in depth and raw even, it really helped me to connect to them and the story. The way Alice learned to trust and heal from her past traumas was really inspiring. This book had me laughing and crying both, which is quite an accomplishment for an author to be able to evoke such emotions in the reader. Alice and Reuben went through so much in this book, from Reuben trying to help Alice overcome her problems and learn to trust him, to Reuban learning that everything doesn’t always fit in a neat little box.
This was a darker story, that even the author gives warnings about. If you are okay with the trigger warnings and super steamy BDSM then this is an intriguing read. To me it was a bit long and a bit steamier than I’m used to, but all-in-all it is a good read for those that like the dark BDSM genre. So although I’m not a fan of such a dark/steamy stories I still enjoyed Alice’s journey of overcoming one’s past traumas and dealing with mental illness. This is definitely worth the read, and I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone to give it a try.

This book gave me chills about how Reuben was so eager to find his submissive. He did everything to search for her but it was not what he thought. The little brat Alice that she can control herself with Reuben, but that she thought all men were alike. Reuben has it rough with Alice. This is a very spicy novel that I need to read more.

I want to start off with I am not new to the BDSM genre of books. I was surprised at the detail that went into each scene and the thoughts and feelings that go into it. I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t get sucked in right away like I usually do but once I was I couldn’t stop. Even though this book is longer than most books I find and took me 4 days to complete I feel like it should’ve been longer. The detail that was put into the scenes wasn’t carried through the whole book unfortunately. There were large chunks of time that were left out leaving me wondering what happened in events that were set up to happen in the skipped time. There are some mini stories from the author to fill in some of the gaps but it wouldn’t be the same as reading it in the book. All that being said I would recommend this book for anyone with interest in romance novels with bondage.

Ashes of Sin and Stardust by Lindsay Murray is a dark erotica/BDSM story. Reuben is a Dom that has been dreaming of Alice for years, not knowing who she is. He feels that once he finds her everything will fall into place. As he goes home to spend some down time with friends, there she is. And to Reuben’s chagrin, she’s a brat. I enjoyed the dynamic between Reuben and his friends. I love that he dives in and tries to make a difference. I was not a big fan of Alice but she and Reuben dive in and try to make it work with each other. The book was a nice read but it was a bit long. There are some pacing issues because of info dumps. All-in-all a good read for those that like the BDSM genre.

**BOOK CONTAINS TRIGGER WARNINGS** Holy hell! I could not stop reading this book! This is the first I’ve read of Lindsay Murray, but it definitely won’t be the last! The thought that she has put into her characters, plot, setting, descriptions, everything is just phenomenal. She sucks you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go. I absolutely love the way she deals with the dark and heavy topics of mental health, abuse, kinks and proclivities, etc. She does it in such a professional, yet normal and relatable way. There is no shaming of any kind. And I am very impressed with the way she took the time to put the trigger warnings at the beginning of her book and she goes into detail about them so the reader is very aware of what they may come across and can make an informed decision about whether or not to proceed. Murray has my utmost respect for that. I love the dynamic between Reuben and Alice and how as a reader your heart is jerked back and forth between the two. You’re mad at one for what they are doing to the other…then you’re mad at the other one because now they are being an idiot. It’s just magical the way Murray can make you feel all the feels for these characters. Just know that you will cry, cuss, cry some more, be happy, be mad, be heartbroken, and be happy again…all within a matter of chapters! I cannot recommend this book enough! I had to find out what was going to happen but I didn’t want the story to end! This book will not only make you face your deepest, darkest desires, but also your deepest, darkest demons.

This book is unbelieveably sexy and funny, as well as full of interesting notes on BDSM. There is a lot of trauma based events as well, but it brings the two main characters closer. I’m also incredibly impressed with the amount of solid chapters this novel has. There are no boring points ever to be found, with PLENTY of funny or steamy scenes, or trauma flashbacks/details. Highly recommend!!!

This book is in no way for the faint of heart. This author takes hard to deal with situations and writes them well this book isn’t for everyone but I for one simply couldn’t put it down. Two imperfect people with a heck of a story to tell.from page one I knew I’d be getting very little sleep and I was right. Once I started I found it so hard to put it down when the real world came calling. There’s definitely times this author had me in tears and I loved every minute of it. The story will draw you so completely in and you’ll have a hard time when the end comes. Five stars and highly recommended all the way.

This book is fantastic. It is the second book in Anchor X, but it is definitely able to be a standalone. I’ve never read the first one, but I promise you I will now! This is definitely a hot and steamy romance. However, more importantly it is an interesting look at trauma and mental illness. The characters are so well developed that they become more than just characters, you feel connected to them. Due to this connection, I feel the author’s warning is definitely needed. This is a look at trauma, abuse and mental illness and how the characters work through them together is something that can be tough to read and intense at times. However, I would not use this to discourage anyone from reading this fantastic book, rather, just to be mindful that it can be very intense.

What happens when you finally find the woman of you dreams, only to find she’s a complete brat? Reuben’s dominant streak is about to be tested like never before, but he is determined to tame, and train, this little brat. Alice has wanted a good Dom for what seems like forever, only to be disappointed time and again. Will Reuben finally fill the void in her life, and be the one she can trust to break her in all the right ways? Ashes of Sin and Stardust is an AnchorX novel by Lindsay Murray. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Murray, so I really wasn’t sure of what to expect from one of her books. But I was intrigued enough by the cover and blurb to take a chance and dive in. This is an erotic, BDSM romance- with plenty of triggers, dark themes, emotion, steam, banter, pleasure/pain, drama, and intensity. This is not a light and fluffy read, and I urge you to read the warnings before diving in- see below…. “This book isn’t a sweet, lighthearted romance with a sexy ripped man and a sweet submissive woman. So if that’s what you’re expecting, turn back now. These two break rules….. This book contains depictions of self-harm, intent and thoughts of suicide, mention of child abuse, and rape. It also contains graphic scenes of some BDSM acts that are often referred to as “edge play,” and may be upsetting or triggering to some readers. This content includes knife/blood play, choking, spit, face slapping, degradation/humiliation, heavy impact, hypnosis and brainwashing, and consensual non-consent…” I have read a LOT of erotic BDSM stories in my time and am always excited to find a new one in the hope that it stands out from the rest of the crowd. This is not an easy genre to master, and often I am left feeling a little disappointed, as was the case with this book. Sorry… This should have ticked all the boxes for me and been a scorching red-hot read. But unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. I felt that some elements of the story seemed a little odd, and not really in keeping with the main storyline- and didn’t gel with the rest. Added to that this is quite a long story, which normally I would find fantastic as I love nothing better than to really sink my teeth into a story and lose myself in all the enticing developments- but the length of this story really detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book, being quite wordy with a lot of information dumps which really broke the flow of the story for me. This book has the potential for so much more but as it stands it didn’t work for me. But don’t let me put you off reading this book, as plenty of other readers have given it 5 stars, so obviously I am in the minority here. I am intrigued but what else this author can do, so I will pick up another of her books to explore just to compare. Emotive, with a big trigger warning! Happy Reading!

This book is not your average romance but holy WOW! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and while she took care to add warnings, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m glad I read it though because it was so good. Intense but good.
I don’t want to say too much about the happenings of the book because honestly you just need to read it. I will say there are some heavy themes and potential triggers but if you can get passed those you might find yourself sucked into this book. It’s very well written with relatable characters. Definitely worth a read!!

What a great book, it was the dark, late night, steamy read I was looking for and definitely has me floored to read more!
Lindsay Murray did a great job bringing these characters to life with not only interesting back story’s and supporting characters but also with how in depth and raw she got with them. I felt myself relating to both Alice and Reuben at multiple times through out this book. Alice is.. wild to say at the least, a real BRAT but rightfully so after she’s been abused by so many, why should she believe that it’ll ever be anything different. Rueben on the other hand is a perfect example of a tortured soul, wanting what he believes he cannot have, things that won’t fit perfectly into the little box that he’s carefully created to store his world in.
There’s so much depth to the story and the trauma an healing that takes place, I laughed and cried more than a few times. I Found myself angry at times and also trying to read faster to see how things pan out at the end. I Couldn’t put this book down that’s for sure, also, did I mention how STEAMY it is.
This book is not for the faint of heart(if you know what I mean) it definitely touches on some rough (to some) topics, and the spice is for the seasoned reader looking for something to kick things up a notch, and the characters? Made for you to fall madly in love with. Can’t wait to devour more from this wonderful author!

Ashes of Sin and Stardust (AnchorX) by Lindsay Murray
This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Ashes of Sin and Stardust is the first book in the AnchorX Series. This book isn’t recommended for anyone under 18! Read the author’s note if you want to know what you’re reading.
Ruben is the master of all things kink. He has visions of the girl that is his. The only problem is once he meets her then he decides not to do it. Can he break down her walls? The quote I chose for Ruben is: “Let’s get this done quickly. I wasn’t expecting to have to come in this early, and I’m missing a phone call to be here, but we try to be accommodating to other people’s time here at Mountain Valley Baptist Church. Can you four please give me a rundown of what you need in order to make this happen?”
Alice is a loudmouth who talks when nervous. She also likes getting on Ruben’s nerves when he’s around. She gets really bad bouts of depression. The quote I chose for Alice is: “I will take everything you know and love. I will be ruthless. I will put you in the ground. There won’t be anything left by the time I’m done. Only ashes. Ashes of your dignity and your honor. You will bow to me, you will praise my name, and you will burn that game as a sacrifice to the board game gods because you will never want to suffer that kind of slaughter ever again… And the worst part is? You’ll like it.”

This was a great 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. Reuben is missing having a sub but he keeps having visions of a certain woman that he knows is meant to be his. When fate steps in and he finally meets her and things get very interesting.
Alice has had a tough life growing up, especially with men. She is also dealing with some heavy guilt. When she meets Reuben he is determined to be with her. These two, my goodness. Alice knew just how to tempt the beast in Reuben and boy did he ever come out. It was great watching these two get to know each other better and build something great between them. My emotions were all over the place while I was reading. The author does a great job with her writing, she touches on some important sensitive topics. I will warn that there are triggers and we get some very steamy moments. I look forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.

Ashes of Sin and Stardust is probably the best book I have read in a long, long time. Yes, it sinfully steamy and yummy in ALL the right ways…. but, it is more than that. It just opens the dark side of life with mental illness. The characters are just so real and just make you fall in love with them, flaws and all. TRIGGER WARNING: This book is dark and honest! But it so completely worth the read! Bravo!!

This book had me hooked. This is definitely made for mature readers and has some triggers throughout the story. Ruben and Alice have been through so much and they are trying to navigate through those feelings. There are quite a few characters in this story and each of them connect to each other in some way and they all have their own story. I loved the camaraderie between these characters. There are plenty of steamy scenes, funny moments, heartache, and so much more. The author made me feel all the emotions while reading this well written story. I look forward to reading more stories by this author. I recommend this book.

Hold onto your hats- with permission from your Master! Ashes of Sin and Stardust will propel you into a world you may not otherwise visit. Reuben and Alice come alive amongst the pages Lindsay Murray has written. Their tale of betrayals, love and trust brings them together. Alice must overcome her demons to truly trust Reuben. Reuben’s efforts to tame Alice, help him to overcome his demons as well. This book is not for the faint of heart, and Ms. Murray makes a point to let the reader know before the adventure begins. If you’re looking for not your average romance novel, this is it!

Overall I enjoyed this book. It is very dark with triggers, but quite well executed. I personally slightly struggled to connect to the characters at times, but the writing and descriptive information behind their stories was excellent. The steam and BDSM scenes were off the chart. Definitely recommended to dark romance lovers.

This book is about Alice and Reuben. I thought the book was written well. But, for some reason, I just couldn’t get into it. I put the book down, took a break, tried to start again. I’m usually Always Into a good bdsm book. This was Was just so long and drawn out. I really felt Like it was never going to end. I know characters always back a backstory but wow, didn’t need to know all that. About the characters….there were a lot of different characters in the book. Many of these characters all Know eachother, play together, respect eachother. There weren’t many characters I didnt like. I liked the idea of the book, the girl Who has mental issues, the guy who released all his subs after an accident. There’s just a whole lot inbetween that I felt was just To Much.

This was a very dark book. Please read trigger warnings before starting. This was a very heavy book. It throws you into the BDSM world and is tastefully done. The romance that blossoms between Rueben and Alice is nothing short of amazing. Mental health matters in all aspects of relationships and life.
