This story is such a beautiful one. Max and Skylar come across each other in this town due to Maddie, Skylar’s daughter. Maddie. She will crack you up. She is a very inquisitive 8 year old. She is precious and precocious. Mom needs a male companion, according to her (not a boyfriend or a husband). The story is both serious and funny. I found the story and the characters relatable. The small town and it’s gossip chain is just like the town I grew up in. Before you can blink, everyone knows your business. The struggles that Max and Skylar go through in trying to build their relationship is nuts but they do stick with it and come out stronger. This is a couple I want to grow up and be like. The narrator felt a little old voice wise but he did a nice job. I do wish there had been a woman doing the female parts. That would be my only suggestion. It was a wonderful audio story.

Dragonslayer Dragon Heart is the first book in the Dragon Heart Series (Audiobook) and I absolutely enjoyed listening. From the very beginning I was pulled in and I found myself caught up in the story. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life and keeping your attention. The different tones pulled me in and had me on the edge a couple of times. There’s definitely some chemistry between them. What will happen when the one man you fall for turns out to be the who was destined to kill you? Saxton and Orelle will soon find out what their destiny has in store for them. I highly recommend listening to this fast paced, action packed Fantasy/Romance to find out what happens next. This is a new author to me but I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from them.

The story teller makes the story and the narrator for this audiobook is proof of that. A smooth, mellow, and enchanting voice flowed chapter by chapter and I enjoyed listening. I loved the story of Apollo and Orelle. You could feel the intensity of their chemistry and attraction beyond the fated pull between them. Tensions are high as they both harbor the secrets that link them. Apollo is determined to regain his soul… but he has to go through Orelle to reclaim it. Has the dragon met her slayer, and will fate determine otherwise?

Orelle and Saxton have it out for each other. The thing is that when Orelle is in her human form, they didn’t know they were enemies. The story to bring them into the story and explain their past is pretty good. I can’t wait to see who it highlights in the next book in this series!! I love the romance, the drama, and the kinship in this story!!

Although one of the shorter audio book I have listened to, I found myself pulled in by the story being portrayed. I loved the combination of fantasy and history mixed throughout the book. I was caught up by the narration and could easily picture what was going on.
The story drew me in further the more I listened. I wanted to know how things would work out as it seemed such an impossible situation. I kept hoping that things would work out. This is a great book that I think it worth the listening time.

I absolutely loved listening to this Suspense Story that once I started listening I didn’t want to stop until the end. The Narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life and had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. Guys get ready to dive into this fast paced story about Cady and unexpected t situations she finds herself in and rather she stands her ground for justice. I love Greek mythology and I was very intrigued by this story and decided to listen and this story was fantastic!!

I enjoyed listening to this suspenseful story. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the characters. I also enjoyed how the narrator brought to the story as well. The narrator’s change in tones for the characters has me coming back for more. This is an easy book to listen to as it is fast paced and engaging. This is a story about Cady and how life throws her some unexpected situations that change her. She is now faced with standing her ground and murder, will these two cross? The question remains will she run or stand her ground for justice. I loved Cady’s character. A great supportive, connectable person. I really enjoyed what she brought to the story. A great audiobook by a great author. I highly recommend this audio.

This is my first audio by this author. I enjoyed listening to it from start to end. I found this book easy to listen to. I enjoyed how the narrator brought the story to life. The change in tones made the story interesting and easy to listen to. This is a fantasy story with a touch of romance. The characters are great and had me coming back for more. There is great growth and chemistry throughout which made the story fun to listen too. This is a great audio that I enjoyed listening to on my way to work. PHENOMENAL! This suspenseful story knocked my socks off. I was not expecting that. I loved the twists and turns. The narration was a tad monotone. A little more excitement and variation in the voices would have made this perfect. A plot full of action and twists, slimy characters that you love to hate, even ones you thought you’d love but found out they suck too. This story is worth the listen.

This story is amazing and so original. I loved the story line of the slayer falling for his dragon and the drama that ensues. That made for an adventure that had me hooked from the moment I started. The narrator, Oh my! that man does so much to this story. What an amazing voice. His accent just gave a whole new voice to the tale. This book is based in Greek Mythology, the story of dragons and their slayers. The story is that the dragonslayer will not be a complete person until they slay their dragons. By slaying one’s dragon, they release their soul into themselves in order to live their complete, fulfilled life. One night, dragonslayer Apollo, aka Saxton, meets a woman named Orelle, in a club. Her dancing and scent intoxicates him and he is immediately attracted and doesn’t understand why. Orelle, is a dragon disguised in her human form. The two of them have a mutual attraction, but Orelle is not supposed to be out amongst the crowds. However, the two of them keep finding each other and finally give in to their whims of sexual attraction. Each of them, though, are keeping many secrets. How long can these secrets stay hidden? Will they figure out why the attraction is there, and if they do, what does that mean since they are mortal enemies?
Overall, I thought this book was okay. I like the idea of the story and the Greek Mythology behind it. I thought that the characters were interesting. Orelle, I liked her ambition and straight-forward aspects. With Saxton, he was extremely straight-forward which I don’t normally have issues with, but I found it unattractive in this character. I think a lot of that comes from the wording that the author uses. There were times where I just thought the wording was cringy, and I like dirty talk, etc. He did grow on me toward the end of the story, however. I also didn’t really like the narrator of the audiobook, he sounded Scottish. This could be a big reason why I thought that the book was just okay. The accent was pretty thick so I, at times, lost interest in the story.

Murder Creek is a story of a journalism student working on a story of a disappearance that took place 20 years ago at Murder Creek. Lacey disappeared leaving only a bloody scarf behind. Eve is drawn to the case and believes there are dark secrets to be uncovered and not everything is as it seems in this town. The more she investigates, the more danger she is in, as not everyone wants secrets revealed and they will do everything they can to prevent her from digging them up. I have to say I really enjoyed this story. It has a great plot, full of mystery and danger. I would definitely recommend you buy the book, BUT NOT THE AUDIO VERSION. I really struggled listening to this reader. It was like she was trying too hard to act throughout the whole reading, to the point of distracting from the story. She would be reading a suspenseful or scary part but would talk super soft like you would talk to a small child. Her tone did not fit what was happening in the story at all and for me, it made it hard to listen to and to keep my attention on what would normally be a book that I couldn’t put down. I would have preferred a robot voice. Justice was not done to this great story, in the audio version, but I would definitely recommend you read it yourself or use the text-to-speech option.

This totally intrigues Eve, and after some searching about this place, she stumbles upon a cold case of a woman who disappeared years earlier. Eve is drawn to this story and decides to investigate further to write her research paper on for her journalism college class. Little did Even k now once she opened up old wounds…secrets come out.
If you love a story with a cold case mystery feel, deceit, lies, secrets, twits and heartbreak…definitely listen to this book. Wow!! What a story!

An intriguing murder mystery with a few twists along the way. Being in the head of a journalist on a mission was interesting and made you feel like you were doing the investigating. I would have liked the mystery to be a bit higher stakes and make it more exciting to follow, but it was interesting none the less. The ending was so heartfelt and concluded the mystery in a great way. I will definitely be looking for more from this author.

A fantastic audio book! This author never fails to entertain me with her writing and I love that I never really know what I’m going to get when I decide on one of her books. I thought the main characters took a little bit of time for me to warm to but once I did I thought she was great! She was definitely determined to find out what happened to Lacey! The narrator really brought the story to life and I certainly felt like I was right there with eve collecting clues and trying to find out what. Happened.
Overall a great audio book and one that I would highly recommend.

This was my first audio book in many, many years… and I was amazed at just how fast I was pulled into the story! I could not stop listening. Jane Suen created a story and characters that were seamless and relatable. Eve was the perfect heroine – a determined college student who wanted to find the truth about a cold case in a small town. This is an author that I have loved reading and I was excited to pick up one of her audio books, it didn’t let me down. I enjoyed how the narrator is able to pull me into the story. The different tones that were used made the story engaging to listen to. I enjoyed how the characters brought the story to life. This story is a journey of suspense, mystery that takes place in a town named for past murders. A story where it could mean life or death. A story full of action and suspense. You don’t want to miss this audiobook. It is one of my favorites by this author yet. I highly recommend this audiobook.

I listened to this via audiobook. Around three hours of listening time, this is a great audiobook. The length is perfect for a day of listening while puttering around the house on summer break. The narrator does amazing character voices! A twenty-year-old crime set against a backdrop of historical tragedy, listeners are drawn into a mystery. I was not expecting the book to wrap up the way it did, so I was pleasantly surprised with the ending.

This was my first book ever by Jane Suen, and I am now a complete fan. The main character Eve Sawyer is outstanding. So well written. The narration by Marni Penning was wonderful. I listened to the book in one day. full of wonderful mystery and twists, you definitely don’t want to miss out on this book

Riveting
Murder Creek (Eve Sawyer Mystery Book 1)
This book went by way too fast though I didn’t realize it at the time. I have listened to a lot of audiobooks, especially over the last 2 1/2 years working from home, there have been a few that have drawn me in like this but not many. I was caught up in the story immediately and had a hard time pausing it when I got calls for work.
Marni Penning’s voice was just perfect and only helped draw me in further. I will definitely look for more books narrated by her.
Eve’s curiosity about Murder Creek and in turn what happened to Lacey all those years ago. She doesn’t give up until she has answers and some of these answers are where she least expected them to be.
I’m looking forward to the the next book and what gets into next.

College student Eve Sawyer is needing to finish a paper for her journalism class, but her heart is not in it. Eve stumbles upon Murder Creek, a place with a haunting history and a more recent incident. The disappearance of Lacey Walken twenty years ago. Eve makes a pitch to her instructor to change her paper and he agrees sending Eve to Murder Creek to see if she can provide any insight as to what happened. Will she uncover who was involved or why Lacey disappeared?
I listened to the audiobook version and was pulled in right away. You get to know the towns people and what happened leading up to Lacey’s disappearance. The pacing of the story is good and I would definitely check out the next book in the series.

I found the narration quite a entertaining addition to the story. She adds attitude and personality to the characters. The story rocks. Strong female sleuth figures out the mystery. She is up against a town trying to hide the secret of who killed a woman 20 years prior. This was a delightful mystery that had pitfalls and twists at the best spots. Every time I’m thinking I figured it out, here came a curve. I love cozy mysteries because of the humor while you are solving them. I would recommend this to all my cozy mystery fans out there.
