Turning Wheels

Satan’s Devils MC #1

A Blood Brothers Spinoff

AUDIO BOOK

By Manda Mellett

☆☆☆☆☆

This is a full length MC novel. This is Sophie and Wraith’s story. A story of differences vs romance. An MC’S VP taking an old lady. This is a must read. I also suggest you read all of her books in this series.

Sophie is recovering from a horrible accident that left her in a wheelchair. She has lost the use of her leg and the other one is no longer there. Between the pain and self loathing she has all but given up. All she had done was help a friend leave an abusive boyfriend. Now her door is smashed open and the threat has started all over again. But Wait…. The door was kicked in by someone sent to help her escape. Strangers who become friends, family and a strong desire to live. MC to the rescue!

Manda Mellett has once again taken me by surprise. I love each of her men in the Satan’s Devils. But this one has taken over my heart. I have grown very fond of this MC series. Sophie is so strong and the men of Satan’s Devils are there to support her, back her up and keep her safe. As well as give her what she needs to take back her life. This story will take you on a rollercoaster ride you won’t soon forget. Fast pace and the many emotions will keep you reading. Well Done Manda Mellett! Well Done!!!

Journeys Through SpaceTime (Journeys Through Book 1) by James Talisman – Review by Sarah Devereaux

Journeys Through SpaceTimeJourneys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Journeys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman is the first installment in James’s Journeys Through series.

As a reader who does not often read sci-fi, I, actually, really enjoyed this book. Although there are quite a few characters and different points of view to follow at the beginning and it is a bit confusing, I enjoyed the character building and how it kept my attention and, in the end, all came together.
The story had a very interesting plot and I enjoyed how the author brought all the characters together.

Overall I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it. I cannot wait to read the second installment Journeys Through TimeSpace.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lea Nolan is an author I just heard about. I read the synopsis of Hols me forever and it pulled me in. When I started the book I couldn’t put it down. I love romance novels and this one didn’t disappoint me. I know this is the third book in the series but it’s so good I plan to read the first two. Lark and Hunter belong together and I love that they got their second to first their past. I can not wait to read more books by Lea Nolan. Definitely worth reading!

HOLD ME FOREVER (HERON HARBOR Book 3) by LEA NOLAN is just as fantastic as the first two in this series. Having read the previous two installments I had high expectations for this book and Ms. Nolan did not disappoint, I was so enthralled in book three that I quickly devoured it in one sitting without meaning to. This romance has everything that a reader can hope for including a small town, second chances, great main characters, and plenty of romance, drama and more. Personally I’m hoping this isn’t the last we see of Haron Harbor, because this reader for one definitely wants more.

One can read “Hold me Forever” as a stand-alone although it’s a part of the Heron Harbor Series. This is my first book by Lea Nolan and she didn’t disappoint. The characters are well written leaving you a desire to learn more about them and their stories. Also, who doesn’t love a second chance romance. Lark and Hunter’s romance will draw you in and have you start cheering them in no time. Find some time to sit down and enjoy this book, you won’t regret it.

I was very excited to read this book. I enjoyed book 1.

The storyline was good. I feel like there were some things that could’ve been written differently but only to better an already thought out plot. Overall I liked how the different groups didn’t necessarily mix or hate one another like they normally do in paranormal books. I liked that the female lead Delilah was strong and resilient. Christian the male lead’s character had some room for improvement but I still really enjoyed how his personality and attitude played in the story.

All I can say is jump in and hold on!!

Jake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail (Jake the Growling Dog Book 3) by Samantha Shannon is just as wonderful as the first two installments in this series. Ms. Shannon gives us adorable fluffy characters that you can’t help but fall in love with alone with a fun and entertaining story for all ages. The animal illustrations are simply adorable and will leave you wishing you could just pet every character and give them lots of treats and love, while the scenery illustrations are beautiful and breathtaking. Not only are these books super adorable and enjoyable but my five year old daughter loves them and can’t wait for the next Jake story.

This is a great, sweet, and fun book to read with underlying lessons. This demonstrates how we can all be different and still work all together. Jake finds a different set of paw prints on his trail which makes him stressed and uneasy. Join Jake and his friends while they try to uncover the mystery. The illustrations were amazing and fun to follow along with the story. I was so happy to read this first book from the author, that I did a little research. An interesting fact that I found is that the Jake books are based off a real dog! I would highly recommend this for growing children!

This is a new author to me. And I look forward to reading more.
Athena is one of the Green Street Girls.
She’s beautiful, successful and doesn’t have love in the cards until Tru walks in to her bar.
Tru is a professional pool player and travels. He walks into Athena’s bar not expecting to meet the fiesty owner.
There is definitely chemistry between the two but Athena doesn’t want love!!
Will Tru change her mind?

This is the first book by N.D. Jackson that I have read. I am a HUGE fan of romance novels of every variety. There were some things that I could do without but the story of Athena and her past is so well written and when she meets TRU, she wants him and something starts to shift inside her. The characters are really great and Athena and Tru together are perfect. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Fist, this is an amazing series of books! I love Jake the Growling Dog!! This one in particular, Jake the Growling Dog Shares His Trail really resonated with me. If I had, had something like this when I was young I would not have felt so alone with all my fears. I love the illustrations, I love that Jake never goes through something alone. I especially loved that this one had visible disability representation as well! Just so many good things, I can’t praise enough. Also that at the end it gives helpful tips on how to work through fears and does not belittle the fact that everyone has them. Loved it, would recommend to anyone! Well done Samantha Shannon with the story and Lei Yang on Illustrations.

Journeys Through TimeSpaceJourneys Through TimeSpace by James Talisman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a great follow-up to Journeys through SpaceTime. Talisman’s level of detail, and ability to make connections in these works is incredible. It must have taken him so long to map this work out! Sci-Fi lovers will revel in the twists and turns this book takes, and the painstakingly drawn characters we get to know. With such a large cast of characters, I don’t know how he manages to create such distinct voices.

I think I enjoyed this 2nd book even more than Book 1. It took me awhile to get my head around the multitude of characters, themes, and overlaps in the first one. This time ’round, I had an *idea* what to expect, and I could sit back and enjoy it more. Well done!

This book picked up where the first ended. The special trio has to save the world but before they can do that, there is still training to be done. Travelling to Nepal, they trek on foot to a hidden place deep in a valley. It is a place of higher learning and some may call magic. Continuing their education in the All That Is, they learn that they can do incredible things. To gather the pieces they need to save the world, they must travel through time. Their adventures are fraught with danger and perilous tasks. With evil lurking on the horizon, can Michael, Julie and Dan accomplish their goals to save all of mankind?

I enjoyed this book better than the first. There were less characters therefore the author was able to concentrate more on the story. The story is interesting and unique. Fans of sci/fi and Dr. Who will love this book. I do recommend that you read the first part to fully comprehend this book.

I really like the Jake the Growling Dog series. Jake smells something new on his trail, and it scares him. His friends come over and they check it out together. What do they find? Just another dog, but he is different.
We are all different in our own ways, but when there are disabilities involved, kids don’t always want to talk to them or make friends. This was a great reminder that we all want friends. The activities in the back are amazing also! They totally give opportunities to talk to your kid(s) about differences, how to be a good friend, and how to just be a good person.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Stripped is the first book in the Stripped series by Stacy Deanne. This is my first book by this author and it will not be my last. The story has a suspenseful romantic feel to it. The characters are fully developed and complicated. This story is about Dee and Connie, two detectives in Baltimore who were put on a case of a strangled woman. The suspect in the murder is Dee’s ex, Grayson. As Dee was investigating the murder she was introduced to Jonathan. This is where the story gets interesting. Will Dee find the murderer? Will Dee start a relationship with Jonathan? I highly recommend reading this book to find the answers to these questions and more.

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven Series Book 4) by AJ Renee – Review by Shannon Fowler

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love these characters and the whole Broderick family. Author AJ Renee keeps me entertained with sassy and sweet characters and with plots that roll smoothly.

Vanessa Raine is a single woman that believes she is seeing things. She knows she isn’t crazy but she just can’t believe the things she sees. And the fact that no one else is seeing these things makes her wonder what is really going on. Carter Broderick is a witch learning his untapped powers. And his day job of being a doctor allows him to practice his healing touch. However, he doesn’t know what he’s missing until he meets Vanessa. The way these two grow together is sweet, sexy and oh so good.

These books do need to be read in order and Cursed Touch is book 4. I definitely recommend this series. Bonus: I love the blurb for the next book, waiting patiently!

Green Street is where they came from. Charlie, Gwyn, Indigo and Athena. This is Athena’s story. Shoved out into the world, she made the most of it. She is a millionaire, has clubs all over; but she decides to do something different and open a pool hall. Sponsoring a pool tournament is where she meets him, Tru. Their chemistry is hot from the first moment. Athena wants him, but just for the sex in the short term. Can Tru capture her heart and make her want to keep him?
Athena is great, strong, and a very independent woman. I love stories with a strong heroine. They make me feel empowered. That I can do and conquer anything.

Unbreakable by Tee Smith – Review by Erica Shoebridge

Unbreakable (The Diamonds, #1)Unbreakable by Tee Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ripper Bandura is definitely a sexy bad guy in this romantic suspense novel. For all his bravado and strength, he has surprisingly little experience in a relationship, so when he falls for Nurse Erin, it catches them both off-guard. He’s also a complex character that is more than just a typical ‘bad boy’. Unfortunately, his childhood was abusive and sent him down a path of crime from an early age. The relationship between Ripper and Erin seems like an unlikely match for many reasons, but they find themselves compelled to each other regardless. The backstory of Erin’s father gives the plot lots of interest, and it speeds up quickly with the family business and the reemergence of Erin’s first husband. Lots of drama to keep up interest, and the ground is already laid for some explosive happenings in book 2!

Effacement by Hieronymus Hawkes – Review by Allyson Ware

Talk about a realistic novel. Hieronymus Hawkes leads you into the future of technology. It may be fiction, but the conspiracy theories that could be discussed based off of this book are infinite. The way technology is being ingrained into our daily lives forces us to rely on it , which is exactly what Cole experiences when he is attacked and his lifelog is destroyed.

Effacement, according to the government is punishable by law. “Not having a lifelog,” is how effacement is defined. So what is a lifelog? A lifelog is a chip that is inserted into the back of your head, and keeps track of your everyday life. It also keeps you connected to everything from the internet to your insurance. Nothing can be done in your daily life without your lifelog, which I suppose is why law writers decided to enforce punishment.

When Cole is attacked, his life is turned upside down. Not only is he arrested for being attacked and his lifelog being destroyed, but his fiancé assists in the attack. Forced to start his life over, Cole finds help in the most unlikely of places, and learns that he cannot trust those that he originally would have put his life on the line for.

Cole goes from a monotonous life to one filled with adventure and suspense. From worrying about when he will marry the woman he has spent five years engaged to, to worrying about how long he may or may not spend in jail/prison. The author has you on the edge of each page, waiting to find out what happens next to Cole. A novel I would recommend to any science fiction fan.

This is a fantastic children’s book. The illustrations were creative and beautiful. I believe you are never to young to enjoy a great children’s book. This story made me smile from ear to ear from beginning to end. Jake finds himself unsure when he sees different paw prints on his favorite walking trail. What kind of animal would it be? As Jake’s friends of Luna, Bodhi and Neet try and help Jake to not be scared and help him find who these paw prints belong to. The group meets Tuck and the story unfolds from there. I highly recommend this children’s story that is full of fun, mystery and compassion.

Hanging Softly in The Night: A Detective Nick Larson NovelHanging Softly in The Night: A Detective Nick Larson Novel by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novel is a detective thriller where Detective Larson is trying to solve a string of suicides. However, Larson’s intuition is normally never wrong, and he feels that there is something strange and chaotic about the suicides. This book, while a thriller with some sensitive scenarios, is written in such a way that not only are you saying “OMG” but also falling in love with characters, feeling for the friends and family, as well as, feeling the confidence that these crimes will be solved. As someone who loves to solve puzzles, this was a great read. I was constantly trying to figure out where the evidence was going and who could be behind all of the craziness. The craziness was wrapped around a budding love story that presents itself from a turbulent past. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series that will probably focus on these new beginnings that may be soiled from ghosts past.

Unbreakable by Tee Smith is the first book in the Diamond series. For me this book is all about the characters and their connection. Although they are complete opposites they have such a strong connection – the chemistry between them is so believable and real.
I thought the story line was good as well.bit felt like it built slowly throughout leading you to where it finishes. It was quite intense in some places and then less so in others, a good mix of the two. It is a well written book that leaves you wanting to read the next in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to book 2.

HOLD ME FOREVER (HERON HARBOR Book 3) by LEA NOLAN – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Hold Me ForeverHold Me Forever by Lea Nolan

The Heron Harbor series is full of books that I am always excited to read when they come out…and this is not exception.

Lark is returning Heron Harbor for her sister’s wedding. She is hoping to come to town, attend the wedding, and leave before anyone really notices. That plan goes out the window almost as soon as she gets into town.

Hunter, the Chief of police, is quite surprised when a stranded motorist in his town turns out to be a woman he has not seen in many years. Lark and Hunter dated many years ago…and even had plans to run off and get married. But…when the time came…Lark said she couldn’t go and left town. Now he is face-to-face with the woman who has always held his heart.

When Wren becomes overwhelmed at work, she leaves it to Lark and Hunter to work out the final details of the wedding. Will these two be able to move beyond their pasts and work together? And what happens if their old feelings come to the surface? Lark is a free spirit and has no intentions to settle down…can Hunter change her mind? Or are they destined to part once again?

I fell in love with this series from the first book…and each book that followed has been just as good. I devoured this book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down because the characters pulled me in and I needed to know how it was going again. Another great book by Lea Nolan!

Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven, #3)Cursed Whispers by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Very frequently when you reach book three in a series the story line can become tired. AJ Renee does a great job of spicing up this third instalment and taking the reader into the most turbulent story so far!

When Max Broderick, a witch veterinarian who can speak to his clients, feels the pull to the woods to attend to an animal in need he doesn’t expect to meet his mate. Claudia, a werewolf, has lived in a world with nothing but violence and mistreatment for the last eight years. Max’s patience and affection for Claudia and her daughter Katia slowly wear down the last of her reserves to become full mates.

I very much enjoyed this book and look forward to the next.

Unbreakable (The Diamonds, #1)Unbreakable by Tee Smith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book one in the Diamonds series and it looks like its going to be a good one. This book contains 2 of my favourite things. Romance and danger. The author does an amazing job taking the reader into a world where our lead character Ripper lives. From a bad childhood, to prison, to now being part of a kinda of Mafia style company. Ripper is mixed into allsorts  of things. Trouble always seems to come looking for him even when he doesn’t want it. He’s never entertained the idea of finding someone to love because let’s face it who would want someone as messed up as him.

The Nurse Erin walks into his life. Erin has her own past, with the loss of her mother and her failed married she is just starting to find her own feet. The last thing she expected is to fall for a guy. Especially a guy who is a bad boy like Ripper.
With trouble coming for Ripper can he risk dragging Erin into his life? Could the secrets he keeps destroy them or make them stronger? And will Erin finally find the man of her dreams in Ripper despite his flaws or will this be another relationship doomed to fail from the beginning.

I. Just. Can’t. Even.

I don’t know how the author does it. I don’t like cliff hangers – basically because I don’t like waiting to read more. And it killed me to wait for this book after part one. But let me just say – this was worth every agonizing moment I didn’t have this book in my hands. The MC universe doesn’t get recognized for the depth it holds and Mellett is a master at bringing so many characters to page that you feel like you know or definitely wish could meet. Just an amazing story. Beautifully written. Just. Wow.
