A wonderful spin on the world of vampires and angels. We don’t normally see these two together. I loved the characters and the depth they brought to this story. A wonderfully spun romance in a fantasy world brought so many elements that I enjoy. I love not being able to guess/know what is always going to happen. I thought the story was well paced. Great writing! Looking forward to more from this author!

This book was a very emotional and deeply intense read. It is the 3rd book in the Off The Record series which I didn’t realise until I was already too deep in. I will however be going back to read them in order as at times I did feel a bit lost knowing who the characters were and their role. That being said it didn’t stop this from being a emotional rollercoaster of a ride. It deals with loss, secrets, lies,depression,and friendship. It is the story of Spook who has a trouble past, a past that is still affecting him today even though he is successful. When things get too much for him and he gets the urge to run he does just that leaving behind the band and group of friends he loves and his gf. We follow not only Spooks journey through the darkness of depression and mental illness but also the effect it has on his friend Xane. Xane refuses to give up on Spook and refuses to let him go through things on his own. Xane is determined to fight for his friend at the cost of everything, his relationships, even his own mental well being take a back seat to saving Spook from the dark pit he finds himself in. The authors writing is amazing. The story grabs you right from the beginning and doesn’t let go. The story is really emotional but highlights the real struggle that some men go through but try to hide everyday. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next but I have my tissues at the ready.

The Anchor Knot: Securing the Knot of Truth By: DonnaLee Overly
This was my first novel by DonnaLee Overly that I have read. I definitely will read more of hers now, that is how much I enjoyed reading this one. This was a fantastic book about a character who is really in the process of discovering who she is. She is in the limelight of politics, but really doesn’t know if this is where she wants to be. She also is there by proxy, it isn’t her running for political office. Plus she is dealing with the loss of her late husband in addition to her fiance who is running for governor. She is the queen of putting everyone first, but she never stops and asks who she is or what she wants. This is something that I definitely relate to on an amazingly personal level. Gabby was very well written and her personal struggles were really well written and as the reader you really felt for Gabby and you wanted to see her find what she wanted, not what everyone else wants. I loved the complexity of the relationships in this book. This book is so fantastic. I definitely recommend it. I have found another author that I really want to read more of.

Sweet, forbidden contemporary romance that is totally swoon worthy. I enjoyed this story so much and the sizzle between Derek and Melinda…which did not get off on the right foot…I loved every page. Derek learns never to judge a book by its cover….as Melinda takes him by surprise with her wit and no backing down from his initial unkind words.
It is hard in the fashion business to be successful, but Derek has what it takes being owner of Wilson Creations that is built on success. Needing a new assistant, Melinda is hired to be the assistant that Derek needs, but initially he is cold and was outspoken that Melinda does not have what it takes to be his assistant. With each day working with each other, Derek and Melinda have more than just a working relationship, their connection runs deeper as they both push each other to be better in the fashion industry. Will Derek and Melinda find their HEA that they always longed for?
This is a wonderful romance story that I could not get enough of. This is my first book from this author and I am already looking forward to reading more from her.

This is the second book in the series. You can pick up the story and keep up without reading the first book, but I’d highly recommend the first one so you can get a deeper connection to the characters. Fortune’s Favorite is an amazing story. The characters are brilliantly written with many layers. There’s mystery, suspense, action, and danger. And the worldbuilding is fantastic. Definitely a page turner!

This was a good book for kids! I would recommend this to my students to read. I found the plot enjoyable and themes relatable for the age group. I picked the book because the cover gave me a nostalgic feel of one of my favorite books as a kid. The allure of magic. The carousel and the grandpa were really good parts of the story for me.

Even though this is book two in the series, it is a total stand alone. The hybrid finding his mate, helping her get rid of the demons chasing her. Watching the mates get to know each other and join forces to rid the world of demons. Not only do they learn about each other but we learn about them as well. The author does a wonderful job of character development and keeps you engaged in the story.
I never quite know what I’m getting into when I picked up YA or teen fiction. So many times I can not connect with young main characters due to their immaturity or… age. Complicated Choices by Risa Niman was really well written without my perception of awkward, uncomfortable characters. I loved Claire, our main character and felt she had the right balance of being a teenager and being a smart, driven and enjoyable leading female. The author wrote the story really well and often times I could imagine I was there conversing with Claire and Mads. The plot was great and the book flowed well, I didn’t want to put the book down.

Wonderful read. Perfect for a mind cleanser, under 200 pages, can be read in one sitting. Victoria is a computer securities person and Angus is a Firefighter and is Victoria’s best friends. brother. This book is full of twists and turns, one of which I never saw coming! Perfect amount of heat and all closed door intimate scenes but you can gage the attraction between the main characters. Looking forward to more from this author.

Love shots is the fourth book in the Bluestone series, which takes place in a small town. Teddy recently bought Micky’s a local bar but finds himself with an unexpected guest, Summer, a childhood friend who’s grandfather used to own. The first scene got my attention right away. Even through Summer’s angry late night tirade, Teddy sees that Summer isn’t quite the all put together self she usually is. This book was fun to read and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. I did read the first book in the series which helped me know some of the characters that showed up in the story. Overall, I enjoyed the book and will be reading the books in this series that I’ve missed.

Wow! Another amazing book by my favorite author! I found it super helpful! Maria DeBlassie knows exactly how to speak to your soul. I felt every word she said and everything between the lines that she didn’t! It is amazing how much everyday magic is in our lives at any moment! Conversations With The Tarot among her other books have been exactly what I needed to hear exactly when I needed it. From someone who has always had an affinity for tarot and other things that people find “weird”, thank you. When I read your books I actually feel like someone understands me and that is a rarity! I will treasure this book and use it frequently in my own divination’s and readings! I highly recommend this book if you are interested in tarot or just beautiful soul reaching poetry! This was a great book that was hard to put down. Luca and Valenzia have a push and pull from the beginning of the book. Luca is out to get back the territory, influence and power that his family lost. He feels that in order to destroy his enemy, the Vacarros, he must destroy their eldest daughter, Valenzia. What neither of them was expecting was to fall in love. This author has a great way of pulling you into the world that she created and making the characters feel real. Although this was a bit fast paced it did not leave me feeling like I had a bunch of unanswered questions at the end. I look forward to reading the next installment.

Deadly Vengeance is the second book in The Vaccaro Empire series by Anise Storm. It is a dark romantic suspense that starts with a quest for revenge which sets off a chain of events that makes for an intense read. It’s a mafia romance with all the mafia-esque politics, violence, and danger you could expect. As well as plenty of dramatic developments, secrets, lies, suspense, family, heartache, pain, intrigue, agendas, angst, chemistry, sizzle, and emotion. A quest for revenge turns out to be more than Luca ever expected, that’s for sure. Can love every come from pain and a vengeful heart? Will love have the power to heal the past? Well worth the read to find out. GAH!!! This here is absolute P. E. R. F. E. C. T. I. O. N. !!!! It needs to be made into a movie so I can watch it over and over again… Russian and Royally Complicated is the second book in The Crowned Hearts series by the talented duo of Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson. This is a captivating, oh-so-sexy, and fun enemies-to-lovers romance with forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, hidden royalty, a bad boy prince, volcanic chemistry, sizzle, a little suspense, some angst, tension, and emotion….. and then there’s also one of my favourite tropes in this book- and it’s one of the best parts about this story, too- but I won’t mention because I don’t want to ruin it for you.
This is Lev and Daphne’s story- who we both met back in book one as they are Fyn and Bridget’s best friends. A steamy encounter at their best friends wadding might have been in the heat of the moment, but neither is prepared for what happens next. Two of my favourite authors come together and create magic- EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! I can’t wait to see what they do next! Happy Reading…

The third book is icing to this series. It only got better with each book. Tamaska needs to become a shifter in order to survive the vampires. Kodiak was captured by the vampires. Now Tamaska needs to find someone willing to turn her but there is no guarantee that she’ll survive the change, and if she does survive will she be able to rescue Kodiak? Ready for the fourth book!

Mafia romances are a guilty pleasure for me. I don’t think I’ve found one I didn’t like. I do believe Deadly Vengeance is my favorite I’ve read to date. It’s got a lot more substance than those I’ve read in the past. The author does a wonderful job of keeping the reader on the edge of their seat. What will happen next? Will she ever defrost? Will he only ever use her? Those questions and so many more pop in one’s mind while reading. And though it takes time, the author answers every single one. Luca, deprived of a life he could’ve had. However embraced it, once he took it. Valenzia, sheltered away from the world she was living. These two have more in common than they truly realize. Unfortunately despite her beauty for Luca she’s a means to an end. The piece that brings his family back to the forefront in his native land. But is she really? The trials and tribulations these two both go through are wonderfully written and entertaining. The author wrote a novel that I know I’ll read again. Now my question to you is, will you join me on that journey.

Marked Wolf begins immediately where the first book (Shadow Wolf) left on a huge cliff hanger. Stepping back into the action of trying to get the blood opal back from the vampires, Tamaska’s fear of dogs, and Kodiak’s pack refusing him a relationship with Tamaska due to her being a human. Most of this book focuses on these key issues with a few extras added. Unfortunately, for me it took too long for the good parts in this book and when it did it feels like key parts were not explained. The ending was the best part, but it still felt rushed. It ends on another cliff hanger as well so I will need to read the next book.

Softest Touch was a cute short story. An office romance that started off sour, but blossomed into something sweet. The author put together a story that I finished in one sitting. Not just because it was short, but I kept reading because I wanted to know what happened next. Derek is a workaholic fashion creator and business owner. Melinda his newly hired assistant. Well only on a temporary basis. He doesn’t feel she can keep up with him. However not only did she do that, she also showed she cared for his well being. Changing the complex dynamic between them. The chemistry can’t be denied, however fear holds them both back. The author writes them in a way that works wonderfully. Both caterpillars emerge from their cocoons as beautiful butterflies, which is the only way to depict the growth. If you enjoy once romances and don’t have lots of time, this short story is perfect for you!

I was anticipating this book after reading book 1 in this series and it definitely did not disappoint. I highly recommend reading book 1 first as this story picks up where the first book ended. Be ready for emotional roller coaster ride with shifters, vampires, angst, drama, mystery, spark and sizzle.
Tamaska and Kodiak are back, still trying to find a missing blood opal…knowing that the vampires have it in their hands. Between trying to find the missing blood opal, Tamaska is harboring some angered feeling toward Kodiak when she finds out who he really is…..a wolf shifter..especially after being intimate with him and Tamaska. The spark between Tamaska and Kodiak is truly undeniable, but they need to work together to obtain the missing blood opal before it is to late and it is used for reasons that can be deadly. Will Tamaska and Kodiak be able to find the missing blood opal and Tamaska get the revenge she is seeking when her own best friend was murdered by the hands of vampires? Can Kodiak protect his pack and protect Tamaska too…even though she is human?
This is a great read and I cannot wait to continue this series.

This was a super cute and incredible kid’s story. the story was written nicely, and it all rhymed which really makes for a fun read. the illustrations are super colorful and go very well with the story line. It was perfectly done and kept my kids entertained and interactive and engaged thou the whole story.

This book captivated me from the very beginning, and I read it as fast as I could. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way thought. It was so well written I really felt like I was running along with Ian and Katherine. These two characters are extremely well written and fit in this story very well. The chemistry in this book will maybe make you blush and hold your pearls, but it goes so well in this book. The idea of Atlantis as a prison for the supernatural really was intriguing, I love the way authors spin a few tales in that could very well make sense. The writing of this book flowed nicely and is very disruptive. It’s a fast-paced paranormal romance filled with vampires, monsters, danger, drama, chemistry, action, adventure, suspense that it really was hard to put down. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next one.

I read Lilly Tames Her Worries to my 7 year old. It was a little over his head but I think it would be great for my older kiddos. I love that the author found a fun, gentle way to address anxiety in children. As a parent of a kid with anxiety, I think it was great. The 3-3-3 grounding technique is a great one. I have always heard of it was name 5 things, but the concept is the same. My son didn’t know the term heebie jeebies, but once I explained it, he could relate. It would be a good book for teachers to read to their kids for lessons on social emotional learning.

I really loved Complicated Choices. Like way more that I expected. Its a good YA coming of age Book. Claire is saddled with more than any 17 year old should be. She is dealing with being a teen mom, without being the mom. Her mom had an unexpected child later in life, and is left in a crippling position. She has an extreme case of post partum depression, and Claire has had to pickup the slack. Like all of it. She finds herself raising her brother, while trying to get her mom the help she needs. She has done this all in private, keeping the baby a secret from everyone except her best friend Madison. Then enters Chad. Chad is amazing. He is such a great guy and so different than most male lead characters. He is like a 18 year old knight in shining armor for Claire. There is some shockers at the end, that I wont spoil. The book wrapped up well, and had a good ending. But to be honest, I’d be happy If it was turned into a series. I got really invested in the characters and want to see what happens next. What are Chad and Claire and Madison’s first year of college like. What happens with Claire’s mom? I want answers!!!

Continuation. This is the second book in the Protector Wolf Shifter series, and picks up in the same moment that book one, Shadow Wolf, ended in. Thus, it is very important to read book one first, to understand the story and not be lost or confused about what has happened and is happening. Once again, told from the dual perspectives of Tamaska and Kodiak as their epic love story continues. Kodiak with no choice had finally told Tamaska what he is. Due to her childhood trauma of being attacked and scared by a dog attack her fears overwhelm her as she rejects Kodiak and all that he is even when she knows her words were a lie the moment, she said them. Her fear makes her believe that it’s not possible but her heart breaks for him and the distance she keeps from him. Tamaska has one goal, find the Blood Opal, and get her life back to normal. Kodiak, though broken hearted, is determined to keep Tamasha safe while also completing his mission of finding the Opal and figuring out why everyone wants it. Is it just for the money or something else? Since the night of what she thought was a normal event she has been caught in the middle of the darkness that lurks in the shadows, humans oblivious to the constant threat to their lives as they know it. The missing blood opal was just the beginning. Who will find the blood opal first? Why is the blood opal so important to the vampires, and to the Alpha? While the world was built in book one the shadows continue to come into the light as Tamaska and Kodiak both dig deeper into the theft that uprooted both of their lives. The characters grow and learn to overcome their fears as well as sticking to their beliefs in what the right thing to do is. Giving you some answers from the first book the author makes sure you have plenty of more questions in your mind keeping you guessing and in complete anticipation of book three, Rogue Wolf. I am so glad I impatiently waited for book three to come out before finally digging into book two, so that I don’t have to wait to see what happens next.
