Cute book and the art is so sweet! Joe is such a sweetheart, very unconcerned with anything at his new school other than learning to read. He has quite and adventure trying to find someone to help him read. The part where he gets to the salon and decides it’s the right place because they are ladies reading under helmets, that was funny and accurate! It made me chuckle they way Bea is drawn, chasing after Joe. I love that mom and Mrs. Richey explain to Joe that learning to read takes time, just like riding a bike or swimming, you have to learn and practice.

This book is a great introduction to a new world! We start off with a brief glimpse of Selene’s life with all the promise of a thriving business and a new life-to-be with her fiancée. We get a little foreshadowing of what’s to come in the opening scene, just a little hint, that stuck with me as I launched into this book. Everything goes from sunshine and roses to chaos and immense change. I love how the author dives deep into this new world while giving the reader wonderful characters throughout. Get ready for a new series, filled with action, monsters, and fantastic adventures!

I normally prefer stories that are much longer and filled with more information, but this anthology was concise and allowed the reader to feel satisfied. Some anthologies are disjointed and you can easily get confused by the change from one story to the other, but this anthology is refreshingly cohesive and transitions beautifully. Though I’ve never read any Lovecraft or Wells, this anthology definitely reflects references I’ve heard before with great twists! These stories will give you full-body shivers, have the hairs on the back of your neck standing up, and make you question time. I love the horror and chaos of these pieces and thoroughly enjoyed the thrills each offered!
Chamberlain has been on the professional boxing circuit for four years. The entire time, he has been celibate, confident he would find Katie. A private investigator fails to find her. When Katie was disowned, her father sent her to Denver to live with his sister, Jackie. Jackie is a lesbian and has also been disowned by the Cunningham family. Katie was thankful for her Aunt and her partner, Karmin’s support during her pregnancy. She met Beth while she was at a grocery store when her water broke. Beth had helped Katie get to the hospital and stayed while she gave birth to Marissa Fiona Lawrence. Seeing Chamberlain’s Denver fight has Katie scared, but she knows Chamberlain needs to meet his daughter sometime. When they meet at the aquarium, Katie knows that Chamberlain will be a great father to Marissa.
The love story between Chamberlain and Katie continues. I found Chamberlain’s belief in his love for Katie endearing. Scott is loyal for remaining by his side throughout the four years that Chamberlain was searching for Katie. Internet searches, a private investigator, and an attempt to get Katie’s family to tell Chamberlain where she was didn’t dissuade him. Marissa’s sassy attitude and obvious ability to interpret feelings makes her a challenge for everyone. There are several moments in the plot that I wanted to shake Katie for her indecisiveness. Appearances by their past “baggage” add intrigue to the unpredictable plot. By the end of the story, I could see Scott and Beth as a distinct possible continuation of this series. The amazing detail and engaging dialogue add even more depth to this amazing story. This is a five-star romance novel that I couldn’t put down.

I don’t know what I thought this book was going to come off as, but helpful was not it. This book is an excellent read of anyone trying to get healthy. I have struggled with diets and exercise for the longest time and this book made me realize that it all starts with something small. Change one habit at a time, and you can start off small. Repeating this one small habit could start to be engrained into your everyday life to the point you don’t even realize you are doing it. Then keep striving for more. There are some good facts and information on heart disease, diabetes and cancer that really just solidified my resolve to change my life around one small habit at a time. I also really had an a-ha moment reading about the difference between processed foods and ultra-processed foods. This book is full of so much good information and easier ways to help you get control of your weight and health the just simply following a diet and exercise, which is still something to continue.
