The Queen’s Dance is Book 2 in the Heart & Hand Series and I love how the Nicole tells this story of fantasy romance, adventure and magic and mix in just the connection and angst I feel with the characters. Overall this is a enjoyable story and although this story could be read as a stand-alone, I do recommend reading this series from the beginning. With this story of Trian and Claire really gave my heart a roller-coaster of emotions. Claire is strong and put to the test while guarding her heart. What she did not forsee if to fall in love…with Trian. When trouble arises, will Claire be able to overcome all obstacles…
I really enjoyed this story and I do highly recommend picking up this book. Wonderful fantasy romance…..I cannot wait to read book 3.

This was a very insightful read about approaching weight loss. I have tried several different diets and exercise regimens over the past decade and a half with little to no results. Anytime I did see changes, none of them were solid and didn’t last long. From the very beginning of this book, I knew I had done myself a favor by picking it up. Instead of just throwing random diet fads and intensive exercises in your face, this author digs into the psychological factors. The narrative is changed by focusing on the why, the how, and how you treat yourself. I truly appreciate the simplicity and the sheer ingenuity of this book. If you are looking for a new perspective on health and weight loss, this should be the next book you pick up! I highly recommend giving this a read.

This is not my usual read, but I enjoyed the collection of short works. It’s always a gamble when you pick up a collection like this, so it’s a treat when it turns out to be good. There are thirteen stories included, but three that intrigued me were: On the Face of It by Danielle Ackley-McPhail, Lighthouse at the Edge of Time by Teel James Glenn, and Accelerando by James Chambers. If you enjoy stories with Lovecraftian vibes and steampunk elements, pick up this collection today.
I have read a couple books from The Playmakers series and loved them, so I picked this up immediately! This author has such an amazing way of drawing you in and never letting go until long after the end of the book. It’s a pretty quick read but it doesn’t feel like anything is missing, which is an incredible feat. This wonderful sports romance has a sublime combination of sweet, spicy, and sassy. I laughed out loud several times throughout this book! Katie and Drew are amazing characters who are very well-developed. Their chemistry is top notch and believable. I highly recommend picking this up if you’re in need of some laughs, spice, and romance. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

Falling for a Star in the City is the second book in the Stars in the City series by Krysten Lindsay Hagar. I really enjoyed the first book in this series so was really looking forward to this one. This story follows the story of actress Paige and hockey player Viktor. Paige is an aspiring soap star until her co-worker’s indiscretion ruins her chances at a leading role, then after a sudden break up her ex-boyfriend, a struggling musician is not so struggling anymore, Paige’s whole life has changed. She finds herself thrown into her back-up plan of journalism and confused about who or what she actually wants in her future. I liked this book, I enjoy a good romance and this book I really liked how the author wrote the characters. I would recommend this book to all romance lovers. Looking forward to book 3.

Blood and Ravens by A.D. Brazeau is book one to The Casket Girls series. I honestly believe this is one of the best paranormal stories I have read in a long time and absolutely loved essentially everything about it. All the characters were all well-developed. I particularly loved Greer and Theron and their forbidden love as Theron is trying to please Hades but cannot help what he is feeling for his “little rabbit”. Plenty of other paranormal aspects add lots of depth to this story. The gothic setting also gave me a certain aesthetic that I can never get enough of. The author’s writing was exceptional and kept me engaged and the pages turning from beginning to end. I was overtaken by intrigue from the very first page, and it didn’t stop even after the story ended. I am definitely hoping for more to come!

I loved this little story about Joe. Illustrations were cute and so was Joe as a character. He’s starting school and thinks he is going to learn how to read! But as the day goes on he becomes confused that he hasn’t been taught yet. He decides to wander through town to find the “correct” place so he can learn. Joe finds out that reading takes a lot of time and he can’t learn it all in one day.

This was a cute story about a boy and his dog and a lesson in assuming. The dog scratched and his boy automatically assumed he had a flea so he started doing all sorts of things to get it to go away, even though he couldn’t actually find a flea. Eventually after getting all the neighborhood kids involved, the dog has had enough and he hides. The boy finally gives up and takes him to the vet who confirms there was no flea the whole time. Loved the illustrations and think it’s a great read for kids with a great lesson.

This is book 10 in The Playmakers series. This is a contemporary romance which I loved. There was fun, laughter, romance, loads of chemistry and finding love when you don’t want it or expect it. Even though this is part of a series these books can be read as a standalone as it focuses on a different couple although there are references of characters in other books. In this book we meet Drew and Katie. Drew and Katie meet at a fancy dress Halloween party. Neither of them is looking for romance Drew is busy focusing on his career and Katie is going through a man hating phase. But when they meet they can’t deny the chemistry between them. As they start to spend more time together, their not wanting a relationship turns into a relationship being something they both want. However that journey won’t be straight forward and the couple will need to go through some ups and downs before they get their happy ever after. I loved this story. It was a really sweet romance and the humour and banter between Drew and Katie really brought this story to life for me.

Murder the Tey Way is the second book of the Golden Age of Mystery Bookclub series. The book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone story. I enjoyed the first book in the series as it focused on Agatha Christie’s stories. This book uses the works of Josephine Tey as the backdrop of a new mystery for Lexie to solve. Though there are some backstories involved the author quickly gets the reader up to date (in case they missed book 1 in the series) and some new characters. Lexie’s book club has had an interesting past with murder amongst the members and this brings a new murder to the forefront. Unfortunately, Gayle (Lexie’s sister) looks to be the prime suspect. Will Lexie find out the truth in time? The writing is done well incorporating the books the group is reading into their own murder mystery. It is a light cozy mystery read. I enjoy the characters, the plot, and this book has renewed my interest in Josephine Tey’s writing. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Blood and Ravens: this was a really unique book. I loved the little bit of history behind the casket girls and was definitely a new viewpoint (for me at least!) on a vampire storyline. The characters were well written, good story line, a few twists that I didn’t see coming, and a HEA that didn’t feel cheesy. Set up nicely for a sequel without a huge cliffhanger, which I love. Will definitely check out the next one.

This book is different from what I normally read, I usually just go for the paranormal but thought to switch it up a bit and I couldn’t be happier in doing so. This book was incredible. The story and conflicts and just everything in it kept me on my seat and wanting to read it more. This book really took on a classic and made it into a new way to look at the paranormal. The story flowed so well together that it never made me feel lost and had to turn back again. I really enjoyed the characters but especially Greer she is strong and could sense things and see things that no one else could. I really can’t wait to know if there will be more to this story and what more it could offer.

This book had my attention right from the first word to the last word in the book. This book really gave me the feelings of being in the book, it was so detailed I was like a fly on the wall. The world was well thought out and felt like you were living right along with everything happening, it was unique in its own way. the characters are so well developed that I even felt like I know them a little bit on a personal level. The book starts off with foreshadowing and it was captivating that this book gripped me and held me till the end. It’s a fantasy world with monsters and adventure, romance, and so many twists and turns that I was wondering if Selene could get, thou it all. I can’t wait to read more into this series.

What a fascinating story! I was so hooked on this from the start. I did see similarities to Red Riding Hood and Beauty and the Beast. What made it better is that its a darker, cooler story. I loved the characters and how much more of an adventure there was. Gillian just wants to save her brother. She can’t help it if there’s a hot, dragon to fall for. The writing was very well-done. It kept me engaged through the whole story. I want some more of these stories.

Falling for a star in the city is the first book that i have read by this author. falling for a star in the city is book two in the stars in the series but i have not read book one but i was still able to follow along just fine. Since i really enjoyed book one i would suggest if you start with book one. This was a wonderful young adult hockey romance. I really enjoyed the setting and following Paige’s character i really enjoyed reading about her and Viktors love and life’s adventures. I’m a romance fan i read a lot of it and this hockey romance i would put at the top of my list. So if you think this is your cup of tea i highly suggest you add this to your TBR list. I rather enjoy this author. I also enjoy these particular books by this author. I’m glad this one ties back to previous books. Casting Vows brings the reader back in time where amongst these characters Menage relationships are common. It makes the books interesting. The ebbs and flows of the different situations. This one even more so because of the way it’s broken down. Nico has a dear friend who takes some rather harsh beatings from his drunk father. And the last incident almost killed him. Nico loves Matty and not just as a friend. There’s a deep connection one he would never want to lose. However when they are forced to separate, Nico & Matty are both devastated. Not wanting to be away from the other. At the same time it was the only way to keep Matty safe. Eden was in San Francisco to go to nursing school, but that was what she really wanted? It was brought to her attention by Nico’s need to ask questions that she realized what she was truly doing. It was an escape. A getaway from the ranch she grew up on. As for Nico he’s her everything, but all that’s about to change now that Matty is back. Will Eden be accepting of an unorthodox relationship? Matty lived his life in the church after being whisked away for protection. So how can just seeing Nico again leave him with the urge to throw it all away. He’s the love of his life, yet he’s engaged. Though he feels attracted to Nico’s fiancee. So he’s going to have some tough decisions to make. Do they connect and become one? Is Nico really going to walk away from the Catholic Church? Plenty of questions and so many answers. People who have read these books will be happy to learn that Nico is the son of one of our previous menage couple’s book. If not this book works well as a standalone novel but it’s more fun to start at the beginning.
Interesting is just the tip of the iceberg on how to describe this book. While I’ll admit I don’t often read many historical fantasy books, this one just grabbed my attention. The author’s incredible talent in weaving so many things into the perfect package was flawless. Simon Bell, Gaelan Erceldoune and Anne Shawe each bring their own perspective to the story. Simon tried everything to save his wife, but nothing worked, when he was unable to follow her, he must figure out what to do next with his life. Five years pass and rumors give Simon a purpose, to find Gaelan and start trying to figure out what made them immortal and how can they undo it. Thus, the hunt for the missing manuscript begins. Time passes and a modern-day pharmaceutical company finds diaries describing what the Bedlam inmates endured. Suddenly, Gaelan is drawn to a geneticist Anne Shawe the brings more mysteries and discoveries. How is Anne’s family connected to the manuscript? Will Simon and Gaelan find a cure to their immortality? Everything about this book pulls you in. The beginning is slow but honestly all the greatest books and discoveries had a leadup. Once things pick up its full immersion as the author takes you through the twists and turns of not only historical aspects but how they compare to modern ones. How the characters grow and evolve throughout leaves you ready for more but feeling complete if a sequel doesn’t come. I struggled in many ways on how to write this review without giving anything away but honestly my heart is still racing and so is my mind.

This was a very interesting read. Good world building with the Realms inside the Veil. I wasn’t sure about the storyline at times, but it ended up connecting well and as the reader, you get invested in the characters like Selene and Rayden right from the beginning. And then you begin to get attached to others like Sirius, Nevaeh and Tiffany. This is a dystopian fantasy fiction novel and the first in the series. Overall, I found it very interesting and a good read.

I loved reading part two! Katie ( K.C. And Chamberlain saw eachother at his fight at the end of part 1. Now they are in the same state and Chnerlain will stop at nothing to get his girl back. He has never stopped Loving her or looking for her. Will they get a second chance after all this time with all the secrets ? Will Katie be able to tell him why she left and what she found out right before she left? I. The last 4 years so much has changed for both of them. He is a well known, well respected fighter and she is….well a mom to a little girl! Katie may have run out and not Looked back but As fate would have it, They are both at the same water park, at the same time. That is when Chamberlain sees Marissa.
So much happens in this book, I was sucked in from the cliffhanger in part one and couldn’t wait to see how their story went.
When Katie’s dad comes out of the wood work claiming that he has Katie and Chamberlain’s support, when neither of them want anything to do with her family after what pain they caused them, chamberlain vows to make everything right and see the record straight. This series is quite addicting and cannot wait to see what happens in future books and how Scott and Beth get along. Another great 5* read. Looking forward to more!

Rock Crush and Roll by Hunter Snow. This is the first novel by this author and I’m sure it won’t be her last. It was so good, I was turning pages way after dark! Its the story of Tyler who is a music manager and she is trying to get new talent to boost her career. She has friends and her dog but she does find rock star Cary Kingston really hot. In her career she has found that dating musicians has not ever worked out and created more problems in the long run. Cary is very attracted to Tyler and is determined to break down her walls and rules. Cary is the first rock star that has made her question her rule but she knows it only leads to bad things from past experience. Will Cary be able to break down Tyler’s walls? You get a cool look into the music industry as well in this book which was a cool feature. Also slow Burns are always the best!

I’ve read several books on weight loss so I figured I would give this short book a try as well. The title makes it sound like it has the answer. I know you can’t expect fast results or a miracle cure, but I found this book to just say the basics that we always hear. I did like the fact that it gives you questions to ask yourself and things to think about. I also like the idea of making small choices each day or week. I was hoping for some kind of more detailed plan though. I would not be able to make informed choices on what changes to introduce into my normal daily routine based on this book alone.

Puzzleman by Christopher Alan Broadstone features an intriguing storyline and a creatively imagined underworld that adds a unique dimension to the narrative. The author’s writing style is engaging, drawing readers into a world that is both original and thought-provoking.
However, the book also presents some challenges. The characters feel somewhat underdeveloped, which can affect the reader’s connection to the story. Additionally, the plot tends to be chaotic, making it difficult to follow at times. Moreover, the use of gruesome vocabulary might leave some readers feeling uncomfortable and grossed out, which could detract from the overall experience. Despite these issues, Puzzleman may still appeal to those who enjoy a dark fantasy and intense world building.
