This was a super short story. I read, no devoured it all in one sitting. That’s not to say that it was lacking. This author knows how to pack a lot into a small amount. It did however, leave me wanting more. I likely would have said that if it were 500 pages long. Sinister Styx has a way of telling a story that always leaves you begging for more. Read the trigger warnings, as this can definitely be a triggering story. If you aren’t bothered by those triggers, I highly recommend reading it. There is so much emotion captured in such a short novel. A great read for sure.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book so I was rather excited to settle down and get lost in between the pages of this one ….
Lexie is living a quiet life , raising her daughter , earning her PHD , kindling a new relationship , running her book club , life seems good .
She gets a surprise visit from her sister Gayle whom she’s not seen in years , there’s a peeping Tom at their bookclub that then turns up dead on her lawn and it turns out he has mob links 🙈them her sister drops a bit of a bombshell and is on the run again.and I think I may have more questions than she does 🤣🙈 there’s a mystery to solve and it seems our book club members have their own secrets 🤔
There were a few plot twists and unexpected moments but all in all a good read that let me “ escape “
After “ attending” book club I actually went and got my hands on a Josephine Tey and can’t wait to delve into it 🥰📚

What an incredible anthology! This collection of steampunk horror tales is by far one of the most gripping and interesting reads of the year for me. The cover was intriguing and drew me in without fail. I picked it up without reading the synopsis but once I did, I knew I had to dive in immediately. After opening the first page, I realized that there was no turning back. I lost an entire day devouring this absolutely magnificent collection. You could absolutely read a story and put it down for another time, but I have no self-control! Phenomenally unique stories that have a common theme, but all differ from each other. I don’t think I can pick a favorite because they were all exceptional. I highly recommend picking this up if you enjoy the Lovecraft and Wells vibes!
This is a fun and entertaining read. I enjoyed the story and the characters. It has some nice rhyming and I like the name of the farm. The pages are filled with colorful illustrations that would keep any child captivated. I was surprised at the ending and wish mouse all the luck at grabbing some cheese.
This would be a good book to read to a younger child or a quick read for an older reader.

This book has such a beautiful story being told that I believe most readers will enjoy. If they do not immediately come to love the sweet and loving family of Nico, then they will soon adore the introduction to dear Eden.
The story shared a bit of Nico and Marty’s past before following him to medical school. He soon meets the delightful nursing student, Eden. As their friendship turns to new love, Eden notices Nico’s secrecy behind a story of betrayal from his past.
I loved how the story dove into the progression of Nico and Eden’s relationship, then the introduction of Matty again. Clearly this author knows how to express what an open and caring relationship can be amongst a family, no matter if they are blood or not. Family can look like many things and no one family are alike.
The steamy scenes were a brilliant addition to the story and not at all distracting from the true plot.
I enjoyed the historical aspect of the book and it truly created the perfect setting to balance out the story.
I love how this book identifies the problem and then breaks the solution down step by step. It’s so easy to read and follow. This is real life application without all the fluff that you normally get. If you are trying to lose weight or just quit bad habits and start good ones I would definitely recommend this book.

Having read the first book in the series, I was excited to see what this one had in store. I loved the chemistry between the characters, which was evident right from the word go. They had a clear connection that was believable, even if they tried to deny it was more than it was. The way the story developed was so exciting. The author really seemed to expand on the storyline she created in the first book and pulled me into it all so much deeper. I was drawn into the story and felt like I went on the journey with the characters. This is a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.

This is a unique collection of short stories by 13 different authors. Most of these authors were new to me and it was a pleasure to read their stories. Each story is different and unique in their own way but they all are thought provoking . Each story is to do with time and the effect this has on our life’s and the dangers that happen when we try to control or change time. All the stories deal with chaos, destruction and madness. It gives you an insight into the danger that could happen if we were to give into the madness. Some of the stories I found a little hard to get into at first but I am so glad I kept reading else I would have missed out on some amazing stories. This is definatley a book you could settle down with a lose yourself and lose hours of the day as the stories twist and turn. I couldn’t put it down the stories were so gripping. I will definitely be keeping my eye on some of the authors in this anthology to see what else they produce. If you love stories that are so thought provoking that they mess with your mind, contain twist and turns that you don’t see coming and keeps you hooked for hours then this is definately the collection for you. There is something for everyone in this anthology.

The Chaos Clock: Tales of Cosmic Aether is a wonderfully well written multi-author anthology. Right away I want to mention how much I love the cover, just a stunning work of art that absolutely snatches your attention. Each one is different and unique, with each following the concept of time in beautiful, interesting, and some odd ways. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each one, and had trouble trying to put it down!

Holy cow!!! No words can even describe this book. This went from cute and tame one chapter to run for your life the next… to the point where I literally screamed “WHAT THE HELL” at work. (Thankfully no one was around lol)
A veil comes down and separates Selene and Rayden. Selene is taken by warriors and brought to a new world. She has to go through trials that Sirius trains her for to stay alive and earn her place, which she does and Sirius claims her as his. After everything her fiance Rayden is captured and then their journey begins with her trying to get Rayden back to safety.
The world Karli Rush made in this story is one I would never want to be in… I wouldn’t even know how I would handle it or what I would do. I am not sure how to feel about this book, but one thing I do know is, I can’t wait for the next one.

This is a short story that has a very Romeo and Juliet feel to it with a twist of Greek/Roman mythology mixed in. I really enjoyed it…it is a very short read (like 15 minutes); however, it captivated me and I was invested until the end. The range of emotions I felt for Ivy and Falcon were from hatred and anger to sympathy and heartbreak literally within the span of the 28 pages of the story. The fact that Styx can develop the characters and the plot within such a short time is nothing short of amazing. There are twists and turns that you are not expecting and I was very pleasantly surprised at the ending. This is a very graphic story so PLEASE check the trigger warnings before you read if you need to. I look forward to reading more from Sinister Styx.

The Gift: When I first started this book I was intrigued. The whole secret admirer and setting up for what could have been a good story. Now though, after reading it, I am not sure how I feel about this one. I love a good BDSM book, but I like it to be realistic in certain aspects. I understand it is just fiction, but one of the big important parts of BDSM is that the sub gives that power over to the dom, it is not taken or forced on them, and that is how their interactions were once they met face to face. The FMC didn’t have a clue about BDSM whereas the MMC did, and instead of communicating with her about it, slowly teaching her and confirming she was ok with it each step, so on so forth, he went straight to “I am your master you are my slave” and did what he wanted with her. There is no real story or plot, just a bunch of random things tossed in between spicy scenes.
The Commanders Club: This started off as a reporter going undercover to start sub-training. She did all this to try and save her co-worker, Laura, who she thinks got kidnapped. Even though Courtney had done research, signed a contract, and knew what she was getting into she still fought the sub-training, and not in a bratty way. After finding out her co-worker was safe she had to stay and continue to be trained. Even though she was turned on she still fought the training, even though that was the only thing that could save her. This one has more of a story than there was for the first.
Once in Love: There was an attraction between the MFC and MMC right away. She wanted him to buy her at the auction and had high hopes for him… in bed. When he left she was disappointed but was shocked when she found out someone bought her. They enter into a BDSM relationship that was supposed only to last the summer, but they end up breaking all their limits/self-protective rules. One thing I liked is how patient he was with her and helped her learn new things. She also didn’t fight it, she signed up for all of this and played the part very nicely.
Altogether it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a plot/story then this wouldn’t be for you but if you are just looking for pure smut then this would be perfect!

Blood & Ravens by A.D. Brazeau was very well written. The flow of the story, the POV of each character, and the way the story unfolds in my opinion was top tier.
Greer is a smart and resourceful. Theron isn’t what I expected but it made the story interesting. I love enemy to lovers books and this one hit the mark. I cannot wait for the next one.

Wild King is the second book in the King Brothers series by K.M. Scott. This series got off to a intriguing start with ‘Cruel King’ (Book #1)- so I was excited to see this second instalment had been released and jumped right in. It is a sizzling enemies-to-lovers/billionaire romance that kept me captive till the very end. The series follows the King brothers, with each brother getting their own instalment. This time it is Kellan’s turn. He has a real bad-boy reputation, which he has well-and-truly earned. But after a wild weekend with an unforgettable, but anonymous hook-up- Kennan returns to the family business- but soon finds that his older brother has plans involving a ‘specialist’ to clean-up Kellan’s act & overhaul his reputation. Fate throws a curve ball when the ‘specialist’ turns out to be his island fling. Well, now things are about to get very interesting, if not a little wild, and steamy. Happy Reading…

Dystopian stories aren’t usually my thing, but I decided to give it a whirl and I am quite glad that I did! This is definitely a book you won’t want to put down until the last page. The author created a vivid and descriptive world that draws you in and makes you feel like you are right there in the story. Anytime I thought I have an idea of how things would go, the author threw out another twist and turn into the plot that just made it that much more exciting and thrilling. Selene and Rayden had such a bright future before the veil appeared. The trials and battles they must face had me all twisted up in anticipation of what would happen. I can’t wait to see what happens in the series.

I was super excited to get to read this story, I am always a fan of stories that combine elements of fairy tales and this story did not disappoint at all! The author did an amazing job of creating a well written and detailed world full of humans, dragon shifters, witches, and other mythological creatures. I love that Gillian loved her brother so much that she was willing to venture into the forbidden woods to find the witches that might be able to help her brother who had been infected with the wasting disease. She was fearless even in situations she should have been scared. Roman was a very sexy and dedicated dragon shifter who finds Gillian and must take her to his father (the Great Dragon) to be his new mate. There is action, suspense, humor, romance, and danger al l around. I can’t wait to read the next book and see where things go from there!

This was a rather interesting take, and one that I can get behind, on how to approach weight loss and exercise struggles. For most of my life, I’ve had a struggle with weight and I viewed it from the standpoint that it was all just in the food I was eating. This author takes a look at, and encourages the reader to also take a look from the inside out. How does motivation influence our choices? There is also a focus on baby steps and not just jumping in with both feet and expecting to thrive. Overall, a good book with some pointers that I plan on implementing myself.

This very short, quick read is packed full of character development and immersive story telling. It takes a great author to accomplish these things within a mere 28 pages, but Sinister Styx doesn’t miss a beat! There are many elements packed into this book: deceit, revenge, murder, and a curse (to name a few). And the ending had me surprised and wishing the story didn’t have to end. I could see this being a full-length novel filled with even more drama. That is my only “negative” about Glass Houses, that I wish it had been longer. Can’t wait to read more by this author!

Wild King is the second book in the King Brothers series and what an addition it was. A second chance, enemies to lovers, well written romance. I enjoyed this one as much as book number one. We are introduced to another King brother, Kellen. After a hot, wild, weekend with no names exchanged he ups and leaves when he is called back to work to deal with an issue. He seems to be just as surly as Matthias, who in fact hires Salem, and has apparently built up a bad reputation which our FMC, Salem, is hoping to fix. Will her tough girl, no holds barred personality make a difference to Kellen’s bad boy reputation? Well read on and see. Looking forward to the next King brothers book.

No One Could See the Flea is a funny story of how quickly things can get out of control when kids assume things. While they were all trying to be helpful and solve the problem, they didn’t have the proper knowledge and never got an adult involved to assist. Poor Shank was doused with so many stinky and messy home remedies from all the neighborhood kids. My 8 year old son and I were giggling throughout. The illustrations are adorable and help the story along. That poor dog though!

Another well done Sci fi romance to add to your library! Moira is concerned when her free spirited twin sister yet again falls off the radar while in the mountain town of Allenville but Moira has a gut feeling this time feels different so she heads there to find her. On her arrival this town looks like a normal small mountain town but something feels different and she can’t put her finger on it. She meets the police chief Seth who she also finds gorgeous but evasive and she knows he’s hiding something, but their chemistry is undeniable. She continues searching while Seth is keeping a secret and protecting two sides of very different species and trying to keep the peace. As secrets unfold and mutilated bodies show up what will Moira find and can her interest and easy friendship with Seth survive as she learns the truth. Will she find her sister or was she too late? And what on earth (or perhaps not of earth!) Is going on in this town. The multi pov of this story really gives it depth and I encourage any Sci fi lover to check this one out!

First off, this story was not what I assumed it would be about. But, Glass Houses still blew me away. The author did an amazing job packing so much feeling and umph into such a short story. I highly agree with the trigger warning, and was glad that it was short, because it probably would have been too much for me if it was a full length book. I have read other books by this author, under another pen name and loved them, so I definitely wanted to give this one a try. There was a reveal at the end that I didn’t see coming, but it fit perfect. Ivy and Falcon have an intense relationship, and when their trust in each other gets a crack, it spreads until their lives shatter. Highly recommend if you can get beyond the triggers- The author packed so much into so few pages. I look forward to seeing more from her.

This is the third book (novella) in The Predator Series, and they just keep getting better and better!
This novella follows Beth, her time to shine in the ring, and her decision as to whether or not she should let Scott near the walls she’s worked so hard to build around herself.
You definitely need to read the previous books to know who the characters are and what they are going through in order to get a complete picture of what’s happening. You don’t want to miss out on this series! (4 books in total) So, I recommend you start with “The Predator: Part One” and go from there!

The End Of Try Try Again by Kristen Carter, MS. As someone who has struggled their entire 54 years with weight I jumped at the chance to read this self help book. I have tried every fad diet known to man from grapefruit diet to cabbage soup diet. I’ve been on a diet where I went to meetings and I’ve bought food that didn’t work and just like all fads they stop working when you stop working. I’ve spent countless dollars and cried numerous tears so I was excited to get to read this book. Its from a Dr that has been in the industry for over 30 years she is delving into the Psychological aspect of weight loss. We all want that miracle pill or that quick fix but in reality it is hard work, determination and setting your motivation in the right way. This book is full of tips and ideas that really hit with me and I am truly going to try it. I’m now diabetic and am told its going to be really hard for you to lose the weight at your age but I’ve got to not let that get in my head. The step by step process in this book is doable and I plan on trying it. It helps us see why we choose what foods we choose and why we work out or don’t. I’ve got a grandbaby coming in September so I’ve got to be healthy for him so I’m going to give these steps a try! Great motivating self help book!
