The Gift: When I first started this book I was intrigued. The whole secret admirer and setting up for what could have been a good story. Now though, after reading it, I am not sure how I feel about this one. I love a good BDSM book, but I like it to be realistic in certain aspects. I understand it is just fiction, but one of the big important parts of BDSM is that the sub gives that power over to the dom, it is not taken or forced on them, and that is how their interactions were once they met face to face. The FMC didn’t have a clue about BDSM whereas the MMC did, and instead of communicating with her about it, slowly teaching her and confirming she was ok with it each step, so on so forth, he went straight to “I am your master you are my slave” and did what he wanted with her. There is no real story or plot, just a bunch of random things tossed in between spicy scenes.

The Commanders Club: This started off as a reporter going undercover to start sub-training. She did all this to try and save her co-worker, Laura, who she thinks got kidnapped. Even though Courtney had done research, signed a contract, and knew what she was getting into she still fought the sub-training, and not in a bratty way. After finding out her co-worker was safe she had to stay and continue to be trained. Even though she was turned on she still fought the training, even though that was the only thing that could save her. This one has more of a story than there was for the first.

Once in Love: There was an attraction between the MFC and MMC right away. She wanted him to buy her at the auction and had high hopes for him… in bed. When he left she was disappointed but was shocked when she found out someone bought her. They enter into a BDSM relationship that was supposed only to last the summer, but they end up breaking all their limits/self-protective rules. One thing I liked is how patient he was with her and helped her learn new things. She also didn’t fight it, she signed up for all of this and played the part very nicely.

Altogether it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a plot/story then this wouldn’t be for you but if you are just looking for pure smut then this would be perfect!
