This is the first YA book I have read since I began teaching high school. It is awesome! The characters completely resonate with high school students and their turbulent emotions. I found the flow of the story to be believable. Completely engrossed in the novel, I enjoyed a cathartic sob session. A character that I found to be reprehensible redeemed himself throughout the telling, and I found myself rooting for him in the end, and I am reminded that people grow and change over time.

This book really had a way of pulling me in and wanting to find out what would happen next. The characters were very well written, even though at times I didn’t like them very much! There was the perfect amount of angst, emotion, betrayal and heartbreak to make it grab at your heartstrings. A lot of times I get confused when a book goes from the past to present, but this one was written in a way where it touched on the past without being confusing. I really enjoyed this book!

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The fact that this book starts at the beginning of their friendship makes me happy. I like reading through them growing up and it makes it go a little faster.
Kirsa has been bestfriends with Brock since they were kids. When Victoria comes around things start to change. Then they get to high school and he changes. The quote I chose for Kirsa is: “Your mom said at least twenty people are coming. When did it get so big, and why didn’t you tell me?”
Brock has stuck up for Kirsa since they were kids. Even as they get older he’s always been there for her. Can he get over being the popular kid and get back to being her best friend? The quote I chose for Brock is: “Fine. But I’m not going to pretend to be a girl or play with dolls.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Loved this teenage story! Story of best friends that grow up together an their life struggles. Perfect mixture of high school drama, bullying, football, romance an friendships. I will definitely be reading more from this author!

I enjoyed this book a lot. In many ways, it reflects situations, emotions, experiences we all have as teenagers. There’s always the person we grew up with that changes in high school, there are always mean girls (and guys), there is always miscommunication and strong emotion with all the teenagers and their hormones and getting into adult situations…Kirsa and Brock were really fun to read about in the beginning, before it all happened. I felt warm and fuzzy reading about them and how much they cared about each other. It’s really wild how much things can change as we get older and start meeting new people. There’s a lot of emotions in this book, and they’re presented so well. I recommend this read.

I went into this book unsure what to expect, and I came out overjoyed that I picked it up. Its a book that showcases jealousy, teenage angst, bullying, and a sheep like mentality. There was soo much in this book that brought out emotions as a mom and then also as the teenager I once was. Kirsa and Brock were best friends since the dawn of time practically and when Victoria moved in she became that 3rd part of the group. When a misunderstanding takes place it puts Kirsa on the outside of that friendship and leads to intense bullying and harassment. Brock and Victoria become that King of Queen of mean making Kirsa’s life miserable. When new boy Rylan arrives he and Kirsa bond, and things that were unsaid come to light regarding her past friendships. Its a very emotional read, but such a good one. Kirsa was braver than she knew, and she made it through those tough years and eventually truly stood up for herself. A lot of people say love and hate regarding Brock, but I feel he was a boy being lead astray. All in all this was a great story and it will definitely bring out something in you once you read it.

Uh-maze-zing! This story of finding friendship and love through betrayal was fantastic.
Kirsa met Brock when they were just 4 years old. After initially slamming him into the sand because he destroyed her sand castle, they were best friends. Kirsa and Brock did everything together, play football, study, share secrets, and hang out with the guys.
Just before the beginning of 2nd grade, their twosome became a threesome with the addition of Victoria, the new girl in the neighborhood. As they grew older, Brock and Victoria became more popular while Kirsa, who was extremely shy, stayed in the background. Brock was her defender and protector from all the others at school that didn’t understand their friendship. At the beginning of their freshmen year, Kirsa saw something that broke her heart and was the end of the threesome.
Brock could only take one side. He took Victoria’s. He believed Victoria. From that day popular Brock and Victoria made it their mission to isolate and terrorize Kirsa, leaving her friendless and alone. Three years later as they are beginning their senior year of high school, Kirsa is still friendless. Enter Rylan, the new guy. Rylan doesn’t heed Brock’s warnings to stay away from Kirsa. Rylan befriends her anyway. Through the new found friendship with Rylan, Kirsa starts to rediscover some of her strength. Brock can’t stand the relationship between Rylan and Kirsa. As Brock starts to break away from the influence that Victoria has held on him since that day in 9th grade, Brock starts to discover that maybe everything isn’t what he has believed all this time.
The author made me believe that highschool could be a place of redemption. The characters, especially Kirsa, are so smartly developed. They each have such depth. I love the scenes between Kirsa and Rylan where they are comfortable and in each other’s space enough that it drives Brock completely crazy. This book makes you feel all the feelings through each character. Fantastic! Wonderful! Great story!!

This was another great book from this author. I have read a couple of her other books and it was just as heartwarming as the others. This one is about a couple of friends that become enemies and it’s not your typical friends to lover’s story. Far from it. She did a wonderful job pulling me into the story from the first chapter. I didn’t want to put this book down. I was quite surprised by the ending and hope that there is at least one more story to come in this story. If you enjoy romantic relationship stories with some forks in the road this is a book for you. I highly recommend it.

This is a Contemporary Sports Romance novel and is 302 pages in length. This is the story of Brock and Kirsa, and the unfortunate addition of Victoria. Brock and Kirsa had been friends almost their entire lives. Now in high school, Kirsa is feeling their friendship may hold more and would love nothing more. Then comes Victoria into the picture. Friends quickly turn to enemies and Brock makes her life extremely hard for the next three years. Now Rylan comes in and after some hesitation, he and Kirsa become friends. This is a great contemporary romance by an author who I’ve read several times before and always enjoyed their writing. Set in a high school it is a great example of just how terrifying and awful high school can be if you are not one of the ‘in’ crowd; even worse in this case, as the ‘in’ crowd are out to make her life as miserable and hard as possible. My heart broke so many times for Kirsa during this book. I admired her amazing bravery to continue going to school every day not knowing what horrors awaited her. I do have one little misgiving with the story: I struggle with how Brock never gave her a chance to give her side of the story and chose to believe the rumours. If he truly was her best friend then surely he would have known she was not capable of what she was accused of. Of course, if that was the case then we wouldn’t have this great story that had me hooked. The author does a great job of making the reader hate some characters and for me that is one thig that makes a good writer: the ability to make you really hate a character. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to others.

This book was incredible. I truly can’t remember a time where a book illicited the whole reel of feels from me but I laughed, I cried, I was angry and sad. It was so well written with such a relatable story line! While “bully” romances aren’t for everyone, this book checked all the boxes! I cannot wait to get more from the author and couldn’t reccomend enough! Grab it and read the jagged tale of Krista, Brock, and Victoria.

I’ve decided I have a love/hate relationship with Blindsided. I loved the book, don’t get me wrong, but Brock is where my love hate relationship begins. I hate Brock once we get to the present day! He loved Kirsa, you could tell from the very beginning from the younger years’ chapters, but what he did to her despite that made me hate him. Yes did her eventually grow and take his blinders off when it comes to her, yes but that doesn’t fix the past. That he made the girl he loved and cherished his whole life, high school years miserable, putting her into complete isolation and ridicule. Then there’s Victoria, I didn’t like her the minute she entered the story. The ones who always seem nice that never are. Boy was I not wrong in the assessment. She too took pleasure in Kirsa’s pain but for her own selfish reasons. And last but certainly not least is Kirsa, the character I feel for. As someone who dealt with my share of bullying, that in turn gave me the “ I don’t care what people think attitude” as well. Life is not easy when you have others making it miserable. I commend the way the author wrote this character because it’s very realistic in a sense. Unfortunately so many people succumb to the bullying, the author wrote a strong character in Kirsa that allowed her to remain strong, to rise up above everyone else and not break to them. Does she eventually break, yes but it’s not in the way one would seem. She lost the person she loved since she was 4, because of something she didn’t do. Does she get to redeem herself? You will have to read and find out. *Trigger Warning* If bullying is an issue for you, you may want to think hard before jumping right into this book. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. It’s wonderfully written and at times sad and painful to read, but it’s worth it!

This was a really good sports romance, I really enjoyed it. Having read stories by this author previously I was really looking forward to this book and I wasn’t disappointed. The writing was great, the pace and flow excellent and I really liked the characters – there was certainly a lot of angst going on between them that’s for sure! Krista’s character really broke my heart at times, the way the author write about her and everything that she went through made her feel so real and I felt like I was experiencing some of the emotions she did right with her. I really liked Rylan, he was really genuine and such a good friend for Krista. Overall, a really nice story with great characters. I would highly recommend this book!

Wow, what an emotional roller coaster! The lead character Kirsa goes through so much. This story took me back to high school and how hard it can be as you’re growing, having to deal with big feelings, and trying to find where you belong. I’m amazed that Kirsa kept going when she had no friends to talk to or confide in. The story kept my attention and I kept reading to find out more. There were some tough points that got me emotionally. Overall, it’s a great story that brings up some hard things that makes you want to do better and be that person someone like Kirsa can lean on.

What a rollercoaster! This book takes you on a whirlwind of emotions, from cheering them on one minute to wanting to scream the next. I loved how well written it was, keeping my turning those pages, and the complexity of the character growth throughout. Definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys enemies to lovers.

Emotional whiplash This book had me raging one minute and then cheering the next. I was beyond frustrated as the events unfolded that I nearly threw my kindle across the room. It takes a good book to really affect my emotions on such a physical level – and this book did just that. I felt every bit of anxiety, pain and betrayal. The writing will draw you in but the characters and their story will keep you glued until the end.

I really have to be in a certain mood to read bully romances and it seems I was in one of those when i started this book. I was so heartbroken reading this and how awful everyone was to our lead female, not just our “bully”. She told absolutely no one as she had no one. Then her saving grace moves to town. I really liked how he was the middle ground for both parties and was able to bring some clarity to the three year long bullying.
I really felt for her and i felt things went too fast in forgiving but this is a book so i understand.

Ok from page one I was absolutely hooked on this story. You know the type of book that has you so captured you lose all track of time and the real world? That exactly how this story was for me. Once I started I simply couldn’t put it down. Kirsa right from the beginning had a piece of my heart and while there’s of course other characters and I liked them of course she’s the one who pulled me in so much. The storyline just spoke to me. High school is difficult for most but how heartbreaking is it when your best friends turn on you. I felt such a connection and I thank this author for such great characters. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking. Five big stars all the way and highly recommended!

There are not enough words to say about this book. I absolutely loved it. There were so many emotions. I definitely shed some tears more than once.
I’m not going to say too much so I don’t give anything away but Kirsa and Brock were best friends until something gets in the way. Brock, as a way to deal with the apparent betrayal, sets out to make Kirsa miserable.
The characters were great. I’m glad Kirsa had Rylan after spending so long not having anyone. I’m glad Brock came to his senses but he was pretty awful for a long time. Kirsa is so strong. She shouldn’t have had to be but she is a force to be reckoned with. I devoured this book!!

Kirsa and Brock are best friends. When they are teenagers, those feelings of friendship could be something more than that. I really enjoyed this book. It is not the usual friends-to-enemies romance. Oh no…there is so much more. Add in the third-wheel to stir things up…teenage hormones…miscommunication…and a new guy…and you have the recipe for a great story. I was pulled in from the beginning and couldn’t put the book down until I finished it. I feel like there is some unresolved issues and storylines that I would love to see how some of their stories develop…so I am already looking forward to future books!

This was a well written book! I liked that it was a high school setting but didn’t seem childish. I mean, yes the reasoning for what Kirsa went through was childish. But it was maturely written. I would love to see more of Rylan’s story in another book. A lot of this book reminded me of 13 reasons why but without the dark elements and an actual romance. Great read!

This was an emotional friends to enemies, bully romance. I was crying pretty much from the start, I couldn’t believe what Krista went through. Brock and Krista were friends since they were 4 years old. When a new girl (victoria) moves to their neighborhood they become friends with her too. Due to a heartbreaking, humiliating scene there is a devastating twist that turns Brock completely against Krista and for three years she is bullied, and picked on so badly that she has severe anxiety and keeps to herself in school. It’s finally her senior year and all she has to do is try to get through the next few months.
When a new boy (Rylan) starts school he tries to befriend Krista but not without some resistance from her. She’s pretty sure that Brock will squash their friendship before too long. But Rylan refuses to listen to Brock and continues to be her friend. This friendship stirs something in Brock that he doesn’t like and he starts to see red whenever Rylan is with Krista. As the story moves forward questions start to arise about the past. Will the truth finally come out? Can Krista forgive Brock for the past?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. I loved and hated some of the characters. My most favorite was Rylan, he was so good to Krista and never doubted her. He was a true friend, exactly how Brock should have been from the start. Brock was one that I’m still a little angry with, I wasn’t happy with the choices he made and he has a lot of making up to do to Rylan. I can’t help but want a little more from these characters. I feel like Victoria isn’t quite gone yet and I would love to see Rylan find his true love. This book was one simple word, amazing! While I was expecting a good rom com with maybe some drama and tension mixed in, I was not expecting this book to have such realistic characters that made you fall in love with the entire story. This was a first time author for me but it will not be my last. The characters were both realistic and fantastic, the plot was intriguing and fast-paced, with plenty of romance to go around. Full of friends, loves, and enemies this book had me hooked from page one until the very end, I just simply couldn’t put it down. So if your looking for a new rom com this week then perhaps you should pick up a copy if this book and join Krista and Brock in this realistic rom com story.

Wow. Most people experience bullying at least once in their life time. Some people more often or more severe than others. This book touches on how it can affect a person and really describes the anxiety and panic well. It’s very relatable and is a real growing up novel. I would suggest this book to anybody who likes reading about drama, deception, and betrayal. The plot is fantastic!

This book was chilling. The trauma displayed in the teenage girl’s life is haunting. Let’s just talk about that first. I turned every page just WAITING for it to get better! But wait, there is so much more to this book! I like the way the author gets us twisted into the love story, and shows us how ignorant we can be as young lovers (don’t forget about the old people too, sheesh)! The ending was so unpredictable for me! This book was great though at putting you in the shoes of your teenager, and I will be paying closer attention to mine!

What a brilliant book. This author had already firmly established herself as one of my must v read authors and this books is the perfect example of why. I was completely drawn into this book and could not stop reading it. I just had to read it all in one go to find out how it was all going to play out. The story was so well written, I became invested in the characters with ease. This is an Absolutely brilliant book that I loved from start to finish.

Blindsided: A Contemporary Sports Romance by T. Christensen is a dramatic story with a friends to enemies to lovers/bully romance- with betrayal, emotion, angst, tension, intrigue, and much more. What happens when two neighbours become best friends with so much potential for more, only for betrayal and miscommunication to ruin everything. Things take a dramatic turn when one forms an agenda to make the other’s life a living hell- and things get pretty intense. The story is has some interconnected details and other interesting touches. The tension was quite palpable and I’m pretty sure the author took delight in toying with my, and the characters, emotions. We were put through the wringer, that’s for sure! There were times I wanted to scream and shake the characters, and other times I didn’t like them very much. But, as always, the author delivered an intriguing read. Happy Reading!

Blindsided!!! The perfect title for this book. After being glued to this book for the last 2 days, I’m not sure how to put into words how amazing it is. The author took us on a journey, from the first words I read I fell in love with this author. Her talent for character building is out of this world. Each character was needed in this book and just elevated the storyline. This book isn’t your normal run of the mil “boy next door”, “enemies to lovers” or even “bully romance”. It’s like all these genre’s went and had a genre baby all mixed together. Absolutely 100% worth the read.

This is a story about childhood friends that are cruelly torn apart. Poor Kirsa has had her best friend and the boy she’s been in love with since she was a small girl ripped away from her. Brock has always been the boy that captured her heart and is never far from her mind. It’s heartbreaking to see how he’s gone from being her protector to her tormentor in the blink of an eye. It takes another guy moving in on his territory for him to finally snap out of it and realize that he may just have jumped to conclusions and misjudged her this entire time. The real question is how much can one girl take before she breaks and pushes you away for good? This book pulled me right in from the very first page and I just couldn’t set it down. The pull between Brock and and Kirsa is out of this world and I am a sucker for true love. This book is a must read that will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
