What a great fantasy read! Lillie is trying to make her own way when disaster strikes. Little does she know her whole life and world will be flipped upside down. Between getting kidnapped and learning more about the feared Zayed there’s no telling what will happen next. Not everything is as it appears to be as you soon find out. I’m excited to start part two and see what awaits!

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor is a whimsical, fantasy tale that will entertain you from the get-go. This is a fast-paced tale that includes blue men named the Zayed, and a strong-willed protagonist named Lillie who finds herself kidnapped by an evil sorcerer. This is a fun read that will not take you very long, but will leave you wanting so much more. Lillie is an endearing character that I quickly grew to love, and I am eagerly awaiting the second book. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because it builds a fantastic, exciting world and steamy romance. I definitely recommend this book and this author!

I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read, the story wasn’t complicated to follow and was lighthearted.
Lillie has been mugged when two Zayed come to her assistance, however her association with them put her in the sights of an enemy.
The blue Zayed people are mysterious, keeping themselves to themselves, but they intrigue Lillie and when they offer to help she accepts. She forms an instant bond with Heath, clumsy Clay, Chief and Brian.
I enjoyed all the characters, they were easy to get to know and very likeable.
They now need to work together to help protect the Zayed village.

This was very interesting to read. I liked the characters and how they were developed. At times I couldn’t help but think that I was reading an adult version of The Smurfs! I mean… the guys are blue, the girl is blonde with a white dress, and there’s an evil sorcerer who talks to an animal side kick. (shrugs shoulders)

It was entertaining to say the least! Since she left it with a big cliff hanger, I now need to read the second part to find out how it ends!

Definitely an adult book.

Is a Paranormal romance that mixes humans and Zayeds. Mixing two worlds. It doesn’t always go well. Lillie’s life takes a huge turn very quickly. All in all these kinds of books are my favorite kind of stories, a very quick 48 hours in one person’s life and everything changes. Helps us remember how life can change in a blink of an eye. Good story. I recommend this book.

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor was an interesting read! This was a quick and easy read, but definitely one for 18+ adults. For some reason when reading this book, I kept picturing the Zayeds as looking similar to the blue people in Avatar! So that kept cracking me up, along with Lillie’s commentary on her “lady-bits”. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, even though everything happened so quick and there was so much that happened in such a short amount of time. Overall this was a really good book and I can’t wait to read Part Two soon!

The Zayed, real or make believe. Before Lillie ran into them she would have told you make believe. The Zayed are blue men that Lillie finds absolutely everything you could want in a man. Because of their chance run in Lillie has been kidnapped by an evil sorcerer hoping to gain even more power. To his surprise she is so much stronger than he could have ever thought. Lillie ends up in the Zayed village. What will come of her and the Zayed and the Evil sorcerer. The writing was so easy to follow and I didn’t want to put it down. Hoping for more with book 2.

This story was absolutely captivating! From the first page, the main character drew me in with her complexity. She made me want to be her friend. The Zayed intrigued me and made me want to meet them, if only to have all my questions answered. The conflict kept me engrossed and I just had to keep reading so I could find out what happened next.

My first read by this author and I was drawn in by the cover.
This was actually a good story, short but lots of info at the same time. Being short It was more of an ” instant-connection/lust” type of thing but it didnt bother me too much at all.
Cant wait to jump into part 2 after the ending.

Lillie is a girl on a mission, she wants to become a fixture in the fashion design world, but in order to do that, she needs to start at the bottom and today, this means that she has to carry a load of clothing designs by one designer to a meeting with another designer, however, she did not expect the humidity and weight of the clothing to combine to make her walk one which can only lead to being a sweaty mess. However, as she is making her way down a particularly busy road, someone decides that they want her purse, so when the guy in question slams into her back and causes her to try and pull her bag back, this causes her to fall flat on her back side and drop all of those designer pieces all over the floor.

As Lillie is raging at this unknown assailant, an unknown male voice drags her from her thoughts and helps her up from the floor and when she turns to look at her mystery helper, little does she realise that it is a Zayed, and a hot, sexy one at that. Thinking little further than that, she thanks him and starts to chase after her assailant while shouting to ask whether the Zayed will watch ehr things until she gets back, not that she is expecting that to happen in the slightest. Lillie is confident that she can outrun and outsmart the purse snatcher because she knows the area like the back of her hand and knows all the shortcuts, however, when she sees that the Zayed is hot on her heels and determined to continue helping her, she agrees and as he is going after the other guy, she takes a shortcut and gets in front.

When the predicted appearance of the culprit comes to pass, she hauls him down from the fence, kicks him in the ribs and repeats the move he used on her to get the bag, thus dragging him back and relinquishing her purse from his clutches, it is at this point that the Zayed comes back and scares the living daylights out of the guy before escorting her back to where they first met, but she is amazed to see another Zayed gathering the clothing and insisting that the two of them escort her to her destination, but not before falling into her and nearly getting her run over by a bus! Lillie reluctantly agrees to their offer of help and before she knows it, she is at her intended destination with minutes to spare, thanks the Zayeds and whilst thinking that they are nothing like they have been portrayed, they are polite, hot as hell and just genuinely nice people and the only thing different about them is their blue skin. After freshening up, Lillie goes into her meeting, however, it doesn’t go well and after she storms out and goes home. It is on her way that she realises that she is being followed by someone and just as she makes a break for it and almost reaches her apartment, they pop in front of her out of thin air and then proceed to kidnap her.

When she wakes up, she is locked in a room in a tall tower, so she looks around to try and see if she can get out of the window, however, while she is moving a footstool over to it, she knocks a vial of something which breaks all over the floor. When the kidnapper returns to the room to question her, she cannot give him the answers he is looking for, but she manages to make a break for it when the kidnapper lets his guard down and as she is running she bumps into the two Zayeds from earlier in the day and they are accompanied by another two as they run to her aid, but what will happen when they get to safety? Will Lillie discover somewhere she could find happiness, or has she just walked into a more dangerous scenario than the one she left? This is a story full of magic, romance, secrets and revelations all rolled into one, as well making you think about lifes preconceptions and how this can affect how you see the world.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Loved this paranormal romance!!!!!! This story flowed so well and the Zayed men…….hot hot hot!! Lillie’s character is very strong willed and holds no punches, my type of girl :). When Lillie meets the Zayed, who helped her when she was in need, all that she knew of them was totally opposite to how she feels about them. The story has romance, action, some mystery on who the Zayed really are and where do they come from. I cannot say enough of this book and give the story away, but this book is fantastic and I cannot wait to read Part 2!!!!

I went into this book with really no expectations, but from the start, the sarcasm and easy writing hooked me. There is much I wish could have been done differently. I think the speed of the book was too fast, I would have liked to see more development in characters and in relationships. I would have enjoyed more tension in the romance, and this book could have most definitely been longer. All that being said, it was entertaining to say the least! Though I do feel the plot was rushed and could have used more development, I did really enjoy this read. It was a bit cringe at times, but I just couldn’t stop reading. Is it the best book I ever read? No. Will I read it again? Yes. A quick pallet cleanser and one of my new guilty pleasures. Definitely looking forward to book two!

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor

This is the first book I’ve read by Taylor, but it won’t be my last. This book had me hooked from the very beginning. It was hard to put it down.

Lillie has always felt like she’s never belonged. When she meets Clay and Heath things change. Now she’s in danger and doesn’t know why. The quote I chose for Lillie is: “Well, let’s not make it for nothing, and get this bad boy back, before it’s too late.”

Heath is part of the Zayed community. Mating is rare and hasn’t happened in a long time. When he and Clay meet Lillie things change. The quote I chose for Heath is: “Brian can bring you back to my hut, if that’s what you want for the night. You can have my bed , and I’ll take the couch. I don’t want you to feel any pressure. You have definitely been through enough for one night.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.

This was a fun, fantastical story. It reminded me of an adult version of the Smurfs. I really liked Lillie. She was smart, independent and sarcastic. I appreciated the way that she accepted the Zayeds and didn’t judge them. Her harem of boys were each unique in character and sexy. I loved each differently; Heath’s strength, Brian’s intelligence, Chief’s compassion and Clay’s clumsiness. The book wasn’t long being only 133 pages. The story takes place over two days. There were times when I felt like the story was rushed. I think it would have worked better if the author made the book a little longer. This is a new author for me and I think she did well. It was a fun read. I’ll be looking for part two.

How I experienced this book:
Why does this feel familiar? Reading… reading… Seriously, why does this book seem so familiar? Reading… reading… Mother of all that is good and pure – it’s a Smurf reimagining.

Ok, seriously though, it took me a little bit to get past the insta-lust/love vibe in order for it to even click that it was this kind of retelling. I can do insta-lust/love sometimes, but I wasn’t feeling it for this book. Now, that being said, I gave this book four stars because I have read thousands of books from squeaky clean to dark taboo and I have never once run across a Smurf reimagining. The creativity of finding something that hasn’t been retold hundreds of times was refreshing. This book ends on a cliffhanger so you’ll need to pick up the next book to continue the story.

This is a very quick read from this author. Everly Taylor has a way of righting that leaves you chucking as you are reading because there is subtle humor intertwined in the plot.. The blue men help Lillie on a bad day and she ends up on the adventure of a lifetime. This is a fantasy paranormal tale that you just can’t miss. The characters are well-written. The plot is enthralling. The descriptions will have you thinking of your childhood. I can’t wait to get to book 2 to see what happens with Lillie and the blue men.

Do you like Romance? Magic? Wizards? Big blue men who live in mushrooms? If you answered yes to these questions then do I have a book for you! Blue Summer was an interesting book that reminded me of The Smurfs. They had a lot of similarities to the little blue men but sexier.
Lillie, the main character was sassy and sarcastic. I fell in love with her character almost instantly. She then meets the Zayed, who are the big blue men I mentioned above and the banter was comical. She seemed to be the only human that wasn’t afraid of the Zayed which made all of the men automatically like her.
Lillie is immersed into their world, trying to fit in, while knowing little to nothing about the Zayed. The book went into the history of the people which once again was like an adult version of The Smurfs.

I was not expecting the very adult version of an old children’s show but I was very pleasantly surprised by this retelling! A quick and fun read that will have you looking for Part 2.

When Lillie is helped on the street by a couple of Zayed, she is falsely targeted by a magician for having ties to them. After her escape from his tower she is taken to their hidden village. She quickly realizes that her connection to these handsome blue strangers is much deeper than she was expecting.

If you are looking for a read that will take you away to another world and possibilities, this is a book for you!

I really enjoyed this supernatural adventure. It is fast paced from the beginning and keeps you hooked all the way through. With a mixture of romance, magic and danger there is something for everyone and with the cliff hanger at the end I can’t wait to read the next book.

Lillie thought her life was plain and boring. After being homeless and struggling to make ends meet her life seemed on the up until a chance meeting with 2 men from the Zayed clain changed her life forever.

The Zayad clain were ancient and very secretive little were known about them but rumours had them as being killers and scary people. But as Lillie finds out rumours and storys are wrong.

After falling for the attraction between herself and Heath she becomes his mate. As happy as they are there is a danger after her which they need to remove to be happy.
With the additional surprise that she can love more than one person in their culture Lillie’s whole world opens up to her. She feels love and accepted that is until the evil they are trying to destroy gets to her again.

Can Heath and the other men in her life save her? Will she give away all their secrets? And will life’s be saved or lost?

This was a first for me by this author and not really quite what I expected it to be. However, it turned out to be just as good, if not better, than what I thought when I started. I did feel like there was much more that needed to be written when I finished it, so I am glad to now know that the second part is now available. I am hoping that this will continue and finish off some of the questions that I had from this one. I will say that after a few chapters in I found myself immersed in a world of romance, magic, mystery, and a lot of laughter. The main character is brilliant on so many levels and I truly wanted to be in her little world. It was a fast read for me and I felt like I needed it to go on longer than it did.

This is a quick read that takes place over the course of a couple of days…but there is a lot that goes on.

Without giving too much away (it is a quick read), Lillie has been raised to fear the Zayed. So when she comes across them, imagine her surprise when it is not fear that she feels. She feels that she belongs. However, a sorcerer is after her for what he thinks she can provide for him. However, once she is released, she finally gets what the sorcerer was after. Now she just has to figure out how she fits into the bigger picture.

This story ends in a cliffhanger…so I will definitely be checking out the next book ASAP! I was drawn in from the beginning. The wittiness and banter between characters is entertaining. And the descriptions were detailed enough that I could envision the world Lillie is in. Over, a good read!

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor is a fantasy paranormal story that is a fast pace and quick read at 133 pages. The story is full of sexy blue men. Blue men sound familiar? It is full of drama and suspense, fantasy and romance, sarcasm and wit, and magic. The premise of the story is interesting but things seemed a little rushed. That could be because the timeline of this tale was only about 48 hours give or take but it felt like there could have been so much more to take it to the next level. Blue Summer Part One is a quick read with wit and humor, steamy romance, and magic. Lillie is a strong and independent woman who is used to only being able to depend on herself. One day, her purse is stolen and she runs into two Zayed while trying to recover it. The Zayed are blue humanoid creatures that rather remind me of an old childhood favorite. The Zayed have been in conflict with an evil sorcerer for many years, and this brief contact with the Zayed now has Lillie in the sorcerers sights! When the Zayed take her back to their village, she must figure out her place and discover if she’s strong enough to help the Zayed prevail. My only critique is that I do wish the story did not seem so rushed. The entire first part spans less than two days. The story ends on a cliffhanger that will definitely have you looking to buy the next part! I look forward to getting to read it!

Everly Taylor is a newer author to me and with that being said, I cannot wait to read some of her other books. Blue Summer has a nice easy, but fast pace at the same time, story. It has a meaty plotline that will hold your attention. The characters are full of zeal and life. They are well written with many details to make them real in your imagination. Lillie takes us on an adventure. The community of Zayed changed Lillie’s life. Will Lillie figure out what is going on around her before it is too late? Why is she so drawn to the Zayed community? I cannot wait to see what is in store in book 2. I highly recommend this book and this author.
