I have read a few books by this author and i am looking forward to more because i enjoy this author’s writing style. This story follows Summer and Teddy and they were not my favorite couple that i have read by this author. BUT I like the story overall, i just didn’t care for them very much. The writing and plot were still great and i enjoyed the story so I def would recommend to a friend!

Love Shots is the fourth book in the Bluestone series by Isobel Reed. It is a friends-to-lovers sweet contemporary romance with a small-town setting, a western element, sexy cowboys, opposites attract, emotion, humour, interesting characters, and enough drama, suspense, and angst that ignites real tension in the storyline.
Summer had always dreamed of taking over her grandfather’s bar in her hometown. So, when she discovers that he had sold it, she is not impressed. To find that her childhood friend, Teddy, is the new owner- makes her furious. Sparks, and whiskey fly, so things are about to get interesting. What ensues makes for a great read.
With a violent ex in the mix too, will danger come into play? Well I’m not giving anything away and ruin it for you- but I will say that the tension and emotion was nicely balanced by some witty banter, with the humorous moments adding an extra element of charm to the story. There was also a nice touch of tender, romantic moments that gave it a heartwarming feel, too.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Isobel Reed!

I’ve read a few of Isobel Ree and always enjoyed them. This book is not at all my favorite though. I was just not a fan of the story of Summer and Teddy. It had good structures and everything I just could not get into this one. I did finish it just so much like the ones before it I guess. I do absolutely still recommend it to anyone who loves the falling in love stories with drama and stepping stones.

Love Shots is another great addition to the Bluestone series and is possibly one of my favorites but I honestly have really enjoyed them all. In this installment you will get Summer, a beautiful blonde, who is, or feels like she is a walking hot mess, who doesn’t deserve a good thing in this world, and Teddy, a retired Navy seal, who retired from the Navy after becoming a POW, who is desperate to prove to Summer that she deserves the world, and then some. Summer and Teddy both have been in love with each other since childhood, but the other felt misunderstood, and like the feelings weren’t reciprocated. These characters seem so real with real life issues and problems, and Isobel Reeds writing makes them really come to life. I went from laughing to hanging on to the edge of my seat, white knuckling my kindle, to teary eyed, and back again. Love Shots contains some subject matter that could be triggering to some readers, and was spicy, but not explicit. Although the characters are connected in each book they can also be read as stand alone novels. As long as Isobel Reed is writing these novels I will be continuing to pick them up.

This is the fourth book in the Bluestone series but can be read as a standalone; however, I would recommend reading the series from the start. This instalment focuses on Teddy and Autumn, and I loved these two, they have great chemistry and were once best friends.

I think the opening to this book is my favourite of the series. I was hooked from the beginning when Autumn’s throwing expensive whiskey at Teddy in her anger and his concern at her bruises.

There were emotional parts to this book and my heart went out to Autumn with everything she went through, and this was incorporated into the story very well. I enjoyed both the storyline and the characters immensely; they were all well-constructed and believable. The descriptive language paints a vivid picture of the scenes as well as the characters and their mannerisms, bringing making you feel as though you’re experiencing it right alongside them.

I love this series and want a lot more!

Love Shots is a contemporary romance and the fourth book in the Bluestone series. The story comes with all the ups and downs of living in a small town with an eclectic group of town folk.
It is a fun read that will have you laughing at times. I think Bluestone may just be a place to be. I really enjoy Isobel’s easy way of telling a story. It makes it easy to fall into the story and the lives of others.
This small-town romance has something for everyone who loves a romance with sexy with sexy cowboys, strong and sassy leading ladies.
I found myself laughing out loud at the banter and goings of when these two come together.
Summer down on her luck finds her way back to Bluestone County only to find her childhood friend taking the one thing she loved.
Teddy has to duck and deal with a certain fiery blonde when she realises, he has the one thing she wants.
I fell in love with the town and the characters as they navigate from friends to lovers.
As always, I look forward to reading more from Isobel.

Love Shots is Book Four of the Bluestone Series. Although it is part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone. With that being said, I do recommend reading the series because it is amazing! This is a friends to lover’s romance set in the small town of Bluestone County that centers around the characters of Teddy and Autumn. The book starts out with a bang and grabs your attention from the first few pages as Autumn practically breaks down Teddy’s door in the middle of the night and throws an eight-hundred-dollar bottle of whiskey at his head. She is furious that he has purchased her grandfather’s bar that she has always wanted. He has never seen Autumn so furious but even through the anger he still has a soft spot in his heart for her. When he notices bruises on Autumn’s arms, he knows that somebody has hurt her. She refuses to tell him, but his heart goes out to her and all he wants to do is protect her. Autumn has always been the girl for Teddy, but he has never let her know. This time around he intends to make the girl of his dreams his own. Will Autumn realize her true feelings for Teddy? Will Teddy and Autumn ever be a true couple?

This book had a wonderful storyline and engaging characters. Teddy might seem rough on the surface because of his time with the Navy Seals but deep down he is a sweetheart. He has had a crush on his friend for as long as he can remember but has never acted on his feelings. When Summer returns to town and Teddy realizes that she is in danger he vows to protect her. Summer has only returned home because she is penniless, jobless, and homeless. When she returns home, she is angry that her grandfather’s bar has been purchased by her friend Teddy because it was her dream to own it. When she confronts Teddy there is clearly more to the situation that she is letting on. Teddy realizes that Autumn is being abused but that she is too proud and stubborn to admit it. Teddy wants to protect her and keep her safe from her ex at all costs. My heart broke for Autumn when I thought of the abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex. I found myself rooting for Autumn to realize that Teddy was the man of her dreams, and I so wanted them to experience their happily ever after. This was an emotional read for me, but it was worth the read. I highly recommend this book!

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her so far. I enjoy her writing style as well as her attention to details that make her stories realistic. They are well written stories that are hard to put down. This book is no different. I enjoyed reading this second chance romance story. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into the story from the beginning. They are two friends who have an attraction but will they act on it and finally allow themselves the happiness they deserve? I enjoyed what they brought to the story. They are strong, connectable characters that bring the story to life. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as the growth of the plot throughout the story. This is a fast paced romance story that you don’t want to miss. Will these two friends give in to their attraction? I highly recommend this book.

For some reason, I had a disconnect from the main characters of Teddy and Summer from the very beginning of this read and it is odd for this authors work not to grab me. I had to begin the book several times just to get into it but all in all, the story was good. It had cute moments, brought back characters from the other books in the series and gave a wee bit of suspense. The author stuck true to the series format, which is a path full of road blocks to a happy ending with some steamy scenes in the mix. Good read I just never connected with the characters as I did in the preceding books.

I have been a fan of this series from the start. This has been my favorite by far. The drama and action are there. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. They need to admit it it’s there. I had to laugh when they can say they are each other’s weaknesses. I enjoyed watching the relationship develop as they worked through issues. I always enjoy seeing faces from the previous books pop into the story. I find that keeps the continuity going. I love the characters. They were so relatable. I felt like I was right there among them. I love this author’s style of writing. It’s real and down to earth. Excellent read. You should read the whole series.

Can these two old friends stop fighting their feelings long enough to grab hold of their second chance?

Summer’s life was not going plan. With no job or home, she found herself back in the small town she grew up in. Bluestone County. Despite being broke, she’d always dreamed of taking over her grandfather’s bar. So when she found out she was too late and her childhood friend Teddy had bought it, she might have lost it. As in banging down his door and throwing expensive bottles of whiskey at his wall kind of lost it. It wasn’t her finest moment. But talking of fine…

Retired Navy SEAL Teddy was used to dealing with tough situations. You name it, he’d seen it. Yet, nothing had quite prepared him for the sight of a raging Summer hurling an eight-hundred-dollar bottle of whiskey at his head. She certainly knew how to make an entrance. And raise his blood pressure. Having the blonde hellion back in town wasn’t all bad though. He’d missed his friend. Although he’d be lying if he said friendship was all he was interested in. Summer had owned his heart for a long time. He’d missed his chance once before, there was no way he was going to let that happen again.

Oh my goodness I’m about to say take me cowboy 🤠 loving the cover ! I know I’m so easy to please 🤣❣️📚but I’m weak when it comes to cover art 😍😉

It’s soooooo good to be back in Bluestone ❣️

Ace , an injured marine needs to find peace and quiet , a place where he can heal his body , mind and soul , he rents a cabin on Ivy’s land and soon enough he’s hands on in more ways than one 😉

Ivy’s grandparents passed on and left her their ranch and while she’s no wallflower she needs more than money to run the ranch , she works hard and not a scared hair on that head of hers but we all need a little help even our darling Ivy ….

Ivy and Ace are each others healing balms and watching them together was a gift and yes I cried , hard I’m not even going to try and lie but it’s a beautiful story and worth every tear❣️📚

See you soon Bluestone , you’ve been good to my soul 😍

Oh my gosh I’m just loving this cover !!!! The dedication made me chuckle and think of my peeps when I’m reading because I’m forever sharing ❣️📚😉

Lilly inherits a hardware store from her estranged father , there’s an apartment above so her home is also sorted but is this English rose going to survive Montana !? 😉

“ Malbro man “ aka Jake and Lilly ( sweetheart ) get off to a rocky start but entertaining I must add but having said that I see the attraction small town living will have as opposed to city living and I’d like to quote a little bit of perfection “She wasn’t completely sure why , but she knew in her heart that Bluestone was where she needed to be “

Lilly makes friends with Sam and I just adore her I wouldn’t mind having her as my friend ❣️

Sam is Jakes’s sister so when Lilly gets invited to the weekly barbecue their paths cross again and let’s just say there are more sparks than in the fire 😉🫶🏼

I loved the people of Bluestone and Lilly and Jake kept me on my toes , we laughed and we cried and we had the most beautiful time together ❣️thank you guys for letting me part of you , see you soon 🥰

Lilly’s mom grated my nerves a bit

I have read a couple books from this author and she continues to be one of my favorites. I love small town romance and this author knows how to keep you hooked. This is the third book in the amazing bluestone series. You could read this as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited to read this book that I started it right away. I could not put it down until the very end. I can’t wait to see who she will write about next.

Ivy would do anything to save her family’s ranch. She formed a plan to act like she was engaged to one of the workers, Ace. Ivy is attracted to Ace but there is something that he is not telling her. She starts to feel something for Ace but she doesn’t know if he feels the same. Will Ivy save her family’s ranch or will it be too late?

This is the 3rd book in the Bluestone Series. Finally we get Ivy’s story. When she finds herself about to lose her ranch, she will do almost anything to save it. Ace, a retired, wounded Marine, steps in to help by pretending to be her fiancé because some of her sexist clients only wanted to deal with a man. Can she resist the pull she feels toward Ace? Can he open up to let her in? These chapters are so beautiful. The Bluestone world is such a great place to visit where you just feel right at home.

I have read book one and book three of the Bluestone series and I have loved them both! I enjoy the town that the stories are set in, the characters, and how the story unfolds. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything with not having read book two, although I will because I love Reeds writing, and the series itself, but even though the characters are in all of the novels they are each focused on a different couples story. They also all have a happy, fulfilling ending, so no need to worry about any cliffhangers. If you into quick, fun, fully fleshed romance stories, with some snark, spice, with real world troubles I can confidently recommend Isobel Reeds Bluestone series!

Every now and again I will come across a book that must be consumed in one day. This book was one of those books.

From the moment they meet Ivy and Ace are attracted but refuse to act on it. They are thrown together for business purposes and it ends up being so much more.

Seeing Ace recover from his both his physical and mental scars was great, when he finally made the leap he went all in. When you have the right person with you anything is possible and that showed in both Ivy and Ace.

Ms. Reed did a great job keeping me interested and wanting more.

I’ve read the first book of this series and was so eager to read more of this series! One thing I worried about is feeling that I’d be lost without having to have read the second book in the series but with only a few things that do come up about the previous series characters, it can be considered a stand alone story. This book involves Ivy, who has inherited her grandparents’ ranch and she is trying to keep the ranch afloat. Ace, a retired Marine, has been living on Ivy’s ranch and helping her however he can. In his efforts in helping her, he attends a meeting Ivy has set up with a businessman to help the struggling ranch but after seeing how Ivy is being treated, the notion of their “engagement” comes into play to help secure a better team for the ranch. As the “engagement” trail reaches out to others, the attraction towards one another begins to affect. See where this all leads as you read to see what happens next! So worth the read!

Ivy has done everything she can to save the ranch, but with sexist views on how a woman’s place is to be seen not heard amongst other things she is struggling to prove herself. Every time retired Marine, Ace is around though he finds her in the most embarrassing situations, but when Ace sees how things are going for her he steps in. Pretend engagement has Ace moving into Ivy’s place, the attraction is intense but for Ace he can’t believe anyone would want him in a physical way due to his scars. Ivy though sees past it and just sees Ace for who he is. Can they Ivy and Ace keep everything platonic or is the attraction between them both that has been simmering about to sizzle?

Really good story. I thought Ivy was so entertaining, every scene with her is delightful. I really liked Ace he is full of swagger. Great series, definitely an author to keep an eye out for.

Wow! Each and every book in the Bluestone series is better than the last. They definitely all can be read alone, as they each focus on different people in the small town, but I won’t recommend doing this because you miss the charm of Bluestone by reading them in isolation. In this story we meet Ace who is a former Marine who has come to Bluestone to start over. He was injured very badly in an accident and wants somewhere small where he can feel hidden. He starts living in a cabin on the property of Ivy. Ivy inherited a ranch from her grandparents and she wants it to continue to succeed. He brother helps financially but he does not help out physically. That’s where Ace comes in. He is working to stay in a cabin. Ivy thinks she can handle anything that is thrown at her, but she didn’t expect the old boys club that is ranching. Ace comes to her rescue and the rest is well its found in this amazingly written book. I loved this book so very much, Ace and Ivy definitely were great characters who were flawed and who really needed each other. I found myself rooting for them at every turn. I also cried like a baby throughout this one as each keeps thinking they are doing what is right. This book is fantastic and I can only hope that there is more to come in Bluestone!

This book is freaking fantastic. This is the first book in the Bluestone Series and I definitely cannot wait to read the other books. Bluestone is a small, rural ranch town and this book definitely gives so many good feels of a small town. It features two of the most amazing characters. Lilly is running away from London, from the life she knew. She is running towards … Well she isn’t sure. She knows that her father, that left her when she was little, has left her a hardware store and an apartment in Bluestone. She knows that she maybe wants to know something about him, but she also knows that she isn’t happy in her real life right now. Jake is working on a ranch with his sister. He has never had a real, serious relationship and the new girl in town has caught his eye. What he doesn’t know is that his sister also has caught the new girl’s eye and they are about to become the best friends that the other needs. This new revelation complicates things, because if he wants the new girl he can’t do what he has always done. But he is also the first to admit that Lilly (the new girl) has a different effect on him. He definitely feels things that might seem like this relationship might last.
Lilly and Jake have an amazing relationship. Their banter with each other is amazing. Each is very flawed in a very relatable way. I know I related to Lilly on so many levels. And Jake he just seemed so genuine. I also liked that Jake knew Lilly’s father. I feel like that really helped add depth to the story. I love knowing that this is a series as there were so many characters that were introduced that I really want to know more about – Sam and Duke, Lilly’s sister, Teddy at the bar. I love the small town feel and it made me want to up and move to Bluestone, it seems like a place that would feel like home.

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which kept me captivated throughout by the wonderful characters and heartwarming storyline. Ivy is desperately trying to save her ranch, but her clients are sexist, and so to placate them she pretends to be engaged to retired Marine, Ace. Meanwhile, Ace came up with the idea of a fake relationship to get to know Ivy better, thinking that he would never stand a chance with her. After all it’s not just internal battle scars that caused him to be medically discharged from the military, but scars on his face too. Ace has trouble looking at himself in the mirror and so believes Ivy would never find him attractive. However, Ivy is very attracted to the handsome ex Marine, but wishes he would get over his ‘hero complex’, and trying to save her all the time! Although they both want to turn their fake relationship into a real one, they are also both wounded in their own ways. The wide open spaces of the ranch and ranch life was brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in the story. I loved Ivy and Ace and felt invested in their romance, and was hoping they would get a HEA. A lovely read, and one which I recommend.

Ivy’s ranch is flailing and she’s out of options until her ranch hand Ace opens his mouth and makes an announcement, to all of their shock.

Watching them work through their issues both personal, professional and mental was a ride but so worth it in the end.
I enjoyed all the people we met and I especially loved Ace’s mom!

Ace is one of those characters who you can’t help but fall in love with, his story was so raw and heart-breaking at times. Ivy was a wonderful character to read about too, she had endured so much loss in her life I just really felt for her. I loved the two of them together, they had such a genuine connection and they did help each other.
A really beautiful story and one I would highly recommend!
