Musical Murder Mystery Box Set #1. Book Review by Jennifer Ramos

Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1 by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Montgomery brings such an original concept to a murder mystery of bringing the stage of musicals into these three fun-filled, page-turnings stories. The main character and mystery solver, Ruby, is part of a traveling musical troupe and although the casting directors may not feel as though she has leading lady material, she certainly excels in sleuthing. Aspects of these stories reminded me of Nancy Drew is how a mystery follows her and feels the need to solve the case.
During the tour of the musical, The Sound of Music, one of the casted nuns, Mother Abbess is murdered and it is up to Ruby to find out how and why. Then in West Side Murder, the traveling musical troupe end up in Florida where the mystery takes back a few years ago of a dead body found at a local retirement community’s golf course. Finally in Little Shop of Murder takes the troupe back to their hometown of Bloomington, Indiana with their production of Little Shop of Horrors and the horrors of the musical is what is feared to becoming a reality.

This box set was so much fun I devoured the whole thing before I knew it. The story lines were amazing, the characters were well developed, and of course the musical/theatre aspect if it was amazing. This whole series follows Ruby and her theatrical friends, but Ruby seems to find bodies in the most unusual places. Trust me when I say that you will have a ball following her and her friends on the journey to uncover the mystery. After reading these three I sure hope there is more because I can’t wait to see what Ruby and her friends get into next.

This is such a fun box set. I love Ruby Ecco, she is such an amazing character. However, craziness and murder seem to follow her and her whole cast of musical actors and actresses.
In book 1, Ruby is reeling from the recent events. She recently was involved in a murder. However, she was not the murderer or the murdered. She was the understudy of the girl who was murdered. This made her take over the new role. She has been given a back up role for the new musical. Everyone seems to be extra worried about her right now. It doesn’t take long for her to be embroiled in another murder. Another cast member turns up dead and Ruby is called to help solve the mystery.
In book 2, Ruby and her Musical Company are now in Florida. This is awesome because Ruby is near her only family, her grandparents. However, once again where Ruby goes murder follows. Someone in the retirement community has died and no one is willing to look more indepth into the murder. Ruby wants to help solve the case, but her grandparents aren’t so sure.
In book 3, Ruby is back in her hometown. Its nice to be back home, however, she is handed a long weekend off. She is invited to attend a wedding for her boss’s nephew. However, this isn’t as innocent as it sounds. Her boss is not sure about the woman her nephew is marrying. So she is sending Ruby and her detective skills to look more into the situation.
As a musical lover, I loved these stories. I truly enjoyed reading about Ruby. She was the most relatable and lovable character I have read recently. I found myself relating to her on so many levels. Her inner dialogue reminded me of myself. I cannot recommend this boxed set, and series, to anyone! They are so fun!

Musical Murder Mystery Box Set #1 is a collection of fun cosy mysteries set around a travelling theatre troupe. I really enjoyed the first book, The Sound of Murder, so it was great to be able to read the next two as part of a box set!
This is a great series for theatre fans, particularly anyone who’s been involved in performances or dreams of going on the stage. You will most likely end up with songs from the shows stuck in your head for days after you’ve finished. Protagonist Ruby, a chorus girl with a knack for solving mysteries, likes to rewrite the lyrics of a song from the show she’s working on to help her get her head around the details of a case.
The titles of the books make it clear which musical each one is about – The Sound of Murder (The Sound of Music), West Side Murder (West Side Story) and Little Shop of Murder (Little Shope of Horrors). I like how the stories tie in with the musicals the troupe is performing – my favourite is West Side Murder where there’s a longstanding feud between different sections of a retirement community.
This box set gets five stars from me! It would be a great collection to bring on holiday, or read backstage while you’re waiting for your next scene…

Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1 Books 1-3 by K.L. Montgomery. I love this author and I loved this Box set! This author has a way of writing about females who are not the public’s idea of perfect and makes them full of body positivity. I love that! Each book can be read as a standalone but I really enjoyed reading them in order. The series star is Ruby Ecco as she travels around the world with a touring theatre group. Ruby has the amazing ability to find clues for murders and she helps solve them. In the first book The Sound of Murder they travel to Asheville, North Carolina and visit the Biltmore Mansion. They are preforming a musical and its got catchy songs. The Second book is West Side Murder. This book sends us to Florida where Ruby gets to visit her grandparents while she is there for the show. The third book is Little Shop of Murder and it takes place during her boss’s nephews wedding and she is to attend as a spy. All of these books are fun, funny and just a great time. Do yourself a favor and read these fun books today!

This is a three book set – fun musical mysteries with likeable characters! I found myself singing my way through each story! Ruby is part of a musical theater troupe that travels and performs. The trouble is wherever she goes, she has a mystery to solve. In book one, be ready to to hear the Sound of Music as Ruby and Nova solve the mystery of a death! In book two, West Side Story is the story – and guess what – another murder to solve. The Little Shop of Horrors brings back Rudy from book 1 – the mystery is one of catfishing.
These are lighthearted, fun reads. A go to if you are looking for something entertaining and fun!

This set combines 2 of my favorite things, musicals and murder mysteries.
I can’t pick a favorite of the 3 included in this set as each has its own draw to it to make them each unique and fun to read.
This author just has a way with her words to draw you in and immerse you into the story like you are there with all the characters, seeing and hearing everything they are. I found myself singing along with all the clues Ruby finds which was fun and different.

Must read!

The Musical Murder Series is definitely one of a kind. I like how each book flows easily into the next one. The way the author incorporates the musical the characters are working on in the story and the murder mysteries work really well together. All of the characters are very personable and are very in sync with each other. Also there is enough drama in the story, between the characters and the mystery to keep the story going and not focus on only one aspect at a time but multiple aspects.

Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1 by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Only one word is needed to describe this set of books, and it is FUN! I know there’s murder, and possible catfishing, but these are a set of cozy mysteries you should read! The three books are titled after musicals: 1) The Sound of Murder (The Sound of Music), 2) West Side Murder (West Side Story), and 3) Little Shop of Murder (Little Shop of Horrors).

Ruby has a special way of remembering clues to each crime, and in The Sound of Murder I was singing her new version every time she added a clue. In West Side Murder, I laughed out loud at the antics in the retirement community (The Golfers and The Palmers). Some of the characters reminded me of people I know in real life. In Little Shop of Murder, there was a surprise ending.

All three of these books are entertaining, funny, and sweet with a little murder thrown in. They are well-written, characters are developed throughout the series, and each could stand alone. But you will get so much more enjoyment out of reading them in order.

The sound of murder
What a fun and entertaining book this is. Ruby is such a great character. I found myself connecting with her immediately. I loved the mystery of the book too. This author is fantastic at creating brilliant stories that all had such a unique feel about them.
For me this book was made even better by the choice of musical – it left me singing the songs to myself and going back to watch the film. It gave me such a feeling of nostalgia and I think helped me to engage even more.
This author is easily one of my favourites and this book will show you why. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

West Side Murder
I really enjoyed being able to read more about the character of Ruby. She is so entertaining. This book can be read as a standalone story although I personally think you should read them in order to get a true feel for the characters.
This book was just as well written as the first, filled with just as much intrigued and mystery. I was hooked on this story as soon as I started reading it and it definitely kept me guessing to the end. This author has such a skill for writing incredible books and this is a perfect example.

Little Shop of Murder
I honestly think Ruby just gets better and better with each story. I am completely captivated by her each time I pick up one of these books and I could read about her for so much longer.
This book is filled with everything I have come to expect, not only from this series but this author. It is well written, thoroughly entertaining and full of mystery. I read this book so fast I was enjoying that much and I am already looking forward to my next book by this author.

Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1 by K.L. Montgomery

The Musical Murder Mystery series is a great collection of funny, light hearted, sometimes suspense filled, mysteries. Each book can be read alone, as it has enough details provided. However, all 3 books follow Ruby Ecco as she travels around the country with a touring theater company. Each book relates to the play, and the characters are great. We meet Ruby, Rudy and Nova in the first book, and get to know them a bit more as the series progresses. For a good part of the first book, I thought there was for sure another book before it… There is a lot of references to past events and a previous murder Ruby was part of. After some research, I found that it is part of another series, by the same author, and now Ruby is getting her own series. I am curious to read the other book, as there is a lot of references to it and its main character Sunshine.
The Sound of Murder is the first book in the Musical Murder Mystery series. This book made me laugh a lot, which I did not expect. The characters Ruby and Nova are great, and I could really envision them. Ruby is very quirky and not your typical lead character, but I loved her even more for it!
West Side Murder is the 2nd book in the Musical Murder Mysteries series. It references 2 previous “cases” Ruby helped solve, though only one is in this box set. This is a very creative series, loosely mimicking the musical main character Ruby stars in. She seems to find trouble where she goes, and enjoys investigating and solving crimes in her spare time. I was happy to see the relationships with Nova and Rudy develop a bit more in this book. It had me laughing out loud several times.
Little Shop of Murder is the 3rd book in the Murder Mystery series. In this story Ruby and her friends work together to try to uncover a possible Catfish situation for her boss. It escalates and Ruby uncovers a Murder within the case. The ending is a shock, and I hope there are more books to come. I want to see what happens next for Ruby and Rudy as well as Nova and Noah.

Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1 contains the first three books in this fun ‘musical’ mystery series by K.L. Montgomery. They’re intriguing cozy mysteries- where each book has its own ‘musical’ theme…. The Sound of Music, West Side Story, and Little Shop of Horrors- which gives each book, and the series as a whole, its own unique feel and identity. But you don’t need to love musicals, or even know anything about them, to appreciate each story…..but, for me, knowing the musical added an extra sense of fun to my overall reading experience.
We have a recurring cast of characters, who are well-developed, fun, and quirky. Ruby is so easy to like and made the stories all the more fun and interesting. Each book contains its own ‘mystery- which Ruby (and Co) investigate and try to solve. As Ruby is part of a traveling theatre performance troupe, the mysteries take place in different places where the troupe is booked to perform.
This series of whodunnit’s comes with plenty of wit, charm, fun, crime and investigation, drama, suspense, some mayhem, antics, banter, danger, intrigue, and much more…. all cleverly choreographed by K.L. Montgomery into a wonderfully engaging reading experience.
The Box Set Contains:
-The Sound of Murder (Book #1)
-West Side Murder (Book #2)
-Little Shop of Murder (Book #3)

Well worth the read!
Happy reading!

Thank you, K.L Montgomery!

Loved these books!

#7:

I don’t understand how these books keep getting better & better. Everything single time a new one comes out, sign me up! While there are slight similarities between the books for obvious reasons, each and every book is different. Different situations and life stories. I don’t know how she does it. Literally 🤯 = me. All I truly know is that in previous books we have seen glimpses of Nico & Mia, and we don’t really know who either of them are. Nico we’ve seen a bit more, but I like that they both flourish and develop naturally in this book. I truly hope this isn’t the end of the road! Maybe some sequels or spin offs of the current Chicago families would be nice. However honestly anything Amy McKinley writes will be amazing!

A great story of the underdogs finding their way survive and come up on top! I loved that aspect of this book. It was refreshing! What starts off as a whoopsie, ends up being one of the best decisions Summer & Luc make! It starts their angsty and steamy roller coaster of a ride. In the beginning there’s tons of mistrust and secrets, but with time they see the truth and gain trust. Many curveballs and surprising moments. In the end everything happens to a reason and everything plays out as it should. Summer is welcomed with the wives & family and clicks with them instantly like she meant for that life all along!

4:

What did I think? This was a steaamyyy savage love affair!

Firstly the glossary of who’s who on the first page… chefs kisses! I have not read any of the previous books and was worried I would be lost but luckily wasn’t! I loved that you get both perspectives of the main characters POV. This made it easy to follow, and loved to see how they both were truly feeling. I like that we got to be in both of their heads! This book was filled with hellaaa spicy moments, lotsss and lotsss of plot twists, and roller coaster moments. It had me on the edge of my seat and with the popcorn ready! I could not put this book down to save my life!

Overall a really great read, and I can’t wait to read more in this series!!

Musical Murder Mystery has been a fabulous little read! As a bigger woman with a big voice, I totally related to Ruby in her struggles as an eternal ensemble member! I loved all of the references to my favourite musicals and the added bonus that this story combines my two favourite things: a good old ‘who dunnit’ and musical theatre! The writing is well structured, descriptive and immersive, even if I did get a little nervous about them tampering with all that evidence! All in all, a lovely read!

Family friendly and full of fun!! Ruby isn’t the most outstanding actress and definitely not the star of the show but she sure loves a good mystery and this boxed set does not disappoint!

I am a musical lover and this series of books is such a happy and sometimes hysterical read! The Sound of Murder is a book based on the Sound of Music. Ruby gets to join a travelling troupe and her first real role is underway. What she didn’t expect is that one of her cast mates would be murdered. All of a sudden, Ruby’s focus is on solving the murder of her friend.

West Side Murder is based on the popular West Side Story. Instead of the Sharks and the Jets, we meet the Golfers and the Palmers. The focus of this story is on a murder that takes place in a local retirement community. While Ruby and her troupe are on tour, she finds herself in the middle of yet another mystery.

Little Shop of Murder is such a fun read!! I love all musicals but this one is a definite favorite and this story did not disappoint. Ruby and her troupe are performing “The Little Shop of Horrors” on stage when some things become more real than just acting out parts.

What I love about these books is the way that Ruby remembers details to solve her mysteries. She attributes them to musical numbers. I found myself singing along with her clues! This is a great cozy and clean set of books that will put you in a sing-songy mood for days!

This is a great series and to have them in a box set is a bonus.
Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite #4)
This is one of my favorite genres and I couldn’t get enough, it was over too fast for me. I was on the edge of my seat right from the beginning. I was excited to finally get Elena and Marco’s story. These two have had feelings for each other for years. But of course Elena was in an arranged marriage. But with a twist Elena ends up fleeing. When they learn that Elena is in danger, Marco goes looking for her. Will he be able to keep Elena safe?
Overall this was a great read with so many twists and turns. I believe this may just be my favorite of the series so far. It can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading from the beginning. I love love loved these two, they were perfect for each other in so many ways.

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite #5)
Summer meets Luc and has an amazing night with him. She is late to her job the next day, but when she meets her new boss she is shocked. Luc didn’t realize he would see her again so soon. Something happens that causes him to suspect Summer, and he refuses to let her leave his sight. Summer finds herself in the middle of a situation that could blow her secret and put her in grave danger. What will happen when her secret comes out?

We get twists and turns and several secrets. Summer was such a great character, she was strong and exactly what Luc needed in his world. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I love how the wives rallied around Summer and supported her so well. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing.

Collateral Damage: A Second Chance Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 6)
Hailey had originally met Trey at a dinner party but something caused him to walk away. We jump ahead and Hailey finds herself in a dangerous predicament. Trey is hired by her step father to find her after she has been taken. Trey finds Hailey and brings her to his home, there is something off about the whole situation and he refuses to let her leave until he figures it out. Having Hailey in his home is making his feelings stir again, there is something about Hailey that is different. The longer they are together the closer they become.

Will Trey be able to help Hailey? Will Trey drop his walls and let Hailey in?

Overall this was a great read. There are several unexpected twists and turns. I loved her best friend but he also got on my list for ghosting her at times. All of the wives were great, I loved how quickly they brought Hailey into their circle.

Rivals (Mafia Elite #7).
I really liked Mia and Nico’s story. Mia was a very strong character and when she needed help she went to Nico. Nico is smart and a very dangerous man, he is intrigued by Mia and agrees to help her.

What will happen when her father finds out what she has done? Will Nico be able to protect her?

Overall this was a thrilling edge of your seat read. It felt like there were several stories in one. Several twists and turns and a great cast of secondary characters. The connection between these two grew even hotter as the story went forward. There is so much going on your head will be spinning. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. If you’re looking for a great series to read, 1-click and get started today on this one. I look forward to reading more from this author.

When the one love you couldn’t forget comes back from the ”dead” what’s one to do but agree to an arranged marriage to help protect her. Author Amy McKinley does it again. Another action packed mafia romance that keeps you intrigued from start to finish with great world building, fierce and tough females and strong protective males. The more you read of the series, more and more secrets about the families are exposed. Elena and Marco help uncover some in their story along with uncovering their true feelings for one another. I am excited to continue on to book 5. These books are must reads!!

Ruthless Heir:
First off, I am a complete sucker for this series. I absolutely love it. I hope the author keeps writing in this world, maybe a spin off or something. Summer running from one mob striaght into the arms of another one but can she trust Luc even thought he’s on still thinks she’s a spy for another company. This installment follows Luc and Summer from their one night stand to lovers. Read this gem to find out what secrets they uncover.
Ps I love when i get to see characters from the last books🥰

Collateral Damage:
This is the sixth book of the Mafia Elite series. It Follows Trey and Haileys story and an interesting one at that. With him living two lives one as an amazing sweet doctor and the other as a member of the Mafia which he is not all too fond of since it cost him his first love. Now he has to use those connections to save Hailey from her kidnappers but being who he is, he knows there’s more going on than meets the eye. Will he fight the chemistry between them or give in. You have to read to find out and I highly recommend you do.

I was so excited to go back into the Mafia world she has created and Amy Mckinley did not disappoint 🥰. Ever since I read the first book in the Mafia elite series, I’ve been a die hard fan of this author and of these books. Every single book is utterly fantastic, full of action, romance, and adventure. I always recommend these books to pretty much everyone I know. Every time I pick one up, I can’t seem to put it down! This author is very good at making her readers get lost in the book, to the point where if its a day I only meant to read like 30 minutes before bed, before I know it, my husband’s already asleep next to me and it’s two in the morning! This author is honestly a word-smith, weaving words into some of the best books I’ve ever read. I cannot recommend these books enough!

I am always so excited when I discover a book I haven’t read by this author and I don’t think there is a book I’ve ever disliked. I tend to read stand alone series out of order by mistake so the idea of this boxed set was truly appealing. Each book in the Mafia Elite collection is better than the last
and I really loved Collateral Damage.

Ruthless Heir
I have really grown to be a big fan of this author, or so I thought. It wasn’t until recently that I stumbled across this series. I was happy to learn that even though I picked up several books in, it was easy to follow along the storyline. It read well as a stand-alone. I would be curious to read more from this series and learn more backstory from supporting characters. I felt like the writing is really strong with a fast storyline. Of all things, Summer was my favorite part of this book. She is a strong, likable character. I would definitely recommend this book to others and I look forward to
starting this series from the beginning.

Collateral Damage
I was really looking forward to reading this book and as of right now, I would call it my favorite in the series. I was really looking forward to read more about Trey, I feel like he is such a multidimensional character with all he’s been through and I have a soft spot for him. I feel like the medical/surgeon aspect has not been done in many (or at least any I’ve read) Mafia novels. As a nurse myself, I’m always drawn to plots or characters involving the medical field. As much as I loved Trey, I feel that Hailey is just as strong and relatable as a character. The book (or series) is a must read. Never short of excitement, strong characters and a stronger plot. I’d strongly recommend this novel.

I personally wish I could give this book 10 stars, I have loved absolutely everything in this series and while this was the fourth installment it did not disappoint. I have now read several things by this author and I am in love, she quickly become one of my top authors and I can’t wait to read more by her. But this mafia romance series is personally my favorite. Once again she brings back our favorite characters, and brings in some amazing new ones. The plot is a crazy emotional roller coaster ride, and what could be better then an enemies to lovers troupe? Elena and Marco have always been attracted to each other, but since Elena is arranged to marry someone else aren’t their hands tied? But their might be a chance for Elena to escape and make a new life for herself, buy what will happen when she succeeds and Marco has to find her before she’s killed? Will Marco be able to save her? Will they get to be together in the end? You’ll have to read this amazing story to find our for yourself. I personally can’t wait for more.

This is the fifth of installment and I incredibly wish that I could give this book more then five stars. Like the previous four installments this book is full of romantic suspense, intrigue, mafia politics, tension, chemistry, and so much more that you will be gripped from page one until the very end. Much like the other books this book’s couple had their issues, but the tension between them was so great that I couldn’t put it down. This book really follows Luc and Summer through their whole relationship but will they finally get the happily ever after they deserve? You’ll have to read this fantastic installment to find out.

Our favorite author has done it again. This is the sixth installment to this wonderful series and just like the previous installments I couldn’t put it down. Full of action, drama, plot twists, and of course romance, this author blows me pit of the water everytime. While I have read this entire series, this book can be read as a standalone. However I must admit that this aeries is so great that why stop at one when you can read the whole series.

Our favorite author has done it again. This amazing novel is the 7th installment in this wonderful series, and per usual I simply could not put it down. While this novel can be read as a stand alone just like the previous six, I would highly recommend reading the whole series because it’s just that amazing. Full of suspense, drama, action, romance, and more this novel is by far one of the best books I have read all year. So whether you’re looking for a great new mafia romance or your looking for a great new series, make sure you read this book next.

Savage Secrets Book 4

The author has hit it out of the park with this continued series. I can not get enough of this tight knit group of Italian mafia family friends. Elena has been in hiding for so long. At the end of the last book, her secret came out that she was still alive. The family went nuts. Now things have gotten too dangerous with the Russian mafia that she has to be found. Who will find her first? The Russians or the Italians? This book had so many shocks for Elena that your heart will be pulled in so many directions. If you have read the previous books, this is a must read for sure. The author brings these characters to life in each book, you feel like you would want to be friends and know them. Amazing writing.

Ruthless Heir Book 5

I love this Series. If you have not read it. I highly recommend it. Mafia, murder, love, sex, crime, kidnapping…. What more could you want. You will be drawn into this book from the moment you meet Summer and then not long after Luc. This twisted tale will keep you on pins and needles. I couldn’t put this down. Luc and Summer have a very complicated connection that only deepens as the story continues. I had to look and see if there was a next book. YES, there is. I can’t wait.

Collateral Damage Book 6

Oh my Goodness, I absolutely love this series. In this 5th book, the story revolves around Trey and Hailey. Hailey has always been second best in life and took to hiding in the background as much as possible. Trey, the sauve sexy doctor/ mafia man is trying to get over the death of his coffee shop girlfriend Teressa. Trey and Hailey are thrown together by unforeseen circumstances. This book will keep you reading long into the night or will be read in one day. I could not put it down. All our favourite characters are still in this story which draws you in even more. I hope this series never has to end.

Rivals book 7

Love this series. This book did not disappoint as it gave so much action and suspense right off the first few pages. I was hooked. The story of Nico and Mia. Mai is from the New York Mafia and Nico is an underboss of the Chicago syndicate. When Mia finds her way to Nico, will he take her up on her request for protection? Everything lies in Nico’s hands. Surprise after surprise in this story. You will be glued to every page. I just can’t get enough of these characters and how they intermingle.

Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1 Books 1-3 by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1Musical Murder Mystery Boxed Set #1 by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this boxed set of wonderfully written cozy mystery stories, all with a musical theatre theme. Each story follows plus-size chorus girl, Ruby Ecco, as she and her travelling theatre troupe travel from city to city all over the world, performing musicals. However, everywhere the troupe goes there seems to be a murder, but luckily Ruby is an excellent amateur sleuth. In, ‘The Sound of Murder’, Ruby is just starting out with her new travelling theatre troupe as a chorus girl. When one of her cast-mates is murdered, Ruby goes into amateur sleuth mode in order to find out who the murderer is, and why they killed a women who was playing a nun!

In, ‘West Side Murder’, Ruby along with The Melody Street Players, are in town to perform at the local theatre. However, Ruby soon finds herself investigating a decade old case, of a body found on a local retirement community’s golf course. Police at the time said it was natural causes, but several of the West Vista del Boca residents are still convinced it was murder. Ruby’s investigations are complicated by the two rival factions, who are battling for control of the community council, but Ruby believes the ongoing war might explain what happened on the golf course. In the final story, ‘Little Shop of Murder’, Ruby finds herself attending her boss’s nephew’s wedding as a spy. Her boss wants her to do some sleuthing at a family wedding, as the groom’s younger brother appears to be dating a rather mysterious and elusive woman. Ruby fears that the horror on stage will spill over into real life, as every show seems to coincide with a murder!

I literally ‘binge read’ this boxed set, and was hooked from book one till book three. I love the heroine of the stories, Ruby, as she is such a likeable and relatable character, and so well defined that I felt as though I was alongside her as she did her sleuthing. The descriptive narrative brought both the settings and characters to life, making me feel fully immersed in each story. The storyline’s flowed well and the plots kept me guessing in each story. I enjoyed the added musical theatre references, and I definitely recommend this entertaining and engaging boxed set.

Mafia Elite Series Box Set Volume 2 by Amy McKinley- Review by Heather Knalls

Mafia Elite Box Set: Volume TwoMafia Elite Box Set: Volume Two by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you love a Mafia romance this is the series to read. More from the Chicago Mafia, they believe in family and loyalty and romance. No it’s not always romance as we see it because of the Mafia responsibilities but the men of this family take all of their responsibilities with the highest of values. What more could you hope for from a Mafia series; family, love, loyalty and most of all the Mafia.

Rivals.

In this instalment of the Mafia Elite series, it is the turn of the quiet brother, he may not be one of the loudest in the family, but he is just as deadly as his other brothers, he is able to blend into the background, which is useful when he needs to glean information and he is extremely observant, because of this, he is underestimated, but not by Mia Tucci. Mia is a New York Mafia Princess who turns up in a place she shouldn’t after escaping from her own Mafia family, they only want her as a bargaining chip, but she wants more, she wants one of the Chicago Mafia brothers and she will do everything to get him and the safety she do desperately craves. So Mia offers a deal he cannot refuse, but first he needs some more information and calls his family to help, but as he waits, he considers her offer and what ramifications it could have on the Five Families. Will the Five Families come out of this intact, or will the danger be too high and consequences to dire?

Mafia Elite Series Box Set Volume 2 by Amy McKinley – Review by Lisa Helmick

Mafia Elite Box Set: Volume TwoMafia Elite Box Set: Volume Two by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a awesome collection of mafia men, the ladies they love and what they would to to protect the family! There are four stories in this collection.

Savage Secrets-book 4

Another great installment in this series! The title says it all…it is chock full of secrets. I loved trying to figure them out while reading. This book is an easy, interesting read and I easily wanted to finish it in one day. I struggled putting it down because I was very interested in Elena.
She has been a secretish character in most of the series.
She is full of crazy skills, charm and smarts. She is my favorite character. Marco is the normal possessive mafia guy, who has his own secrets, and I did like him but Elena and her story took the lead.

Ruthless Heir-book 5

What I loved about this one the most? We got introduced to two completely new characters. In past books we had an inkling of who and what they were about. This one is such a surprise! I zipped right through it! Entertaining, dangerous and full of characters we have come to love!

Collateral Damage-book 6

Another wonderful installment in this series. I did not love it as much as the previous ones simply because Trey isn’t a boss or underboss he is only a brother. So some of the things he did and was privy to in here seemed above his pay grade. I understand that it is a close family but when all the boss’ meet I don’t remember him being there in previous stories. Trey has always come off as a doctor first and it seemed like he only fixed injuries for the Five Families. In this book we get to see another side of him. There is one scene when Trey goes into Protective mode…Me-OW…I loved that scene for two reasons. First I did not think Trey had it in him to go all alpha dominant male and secondly that was so sexy!

Rivals-Book 7

What a Story!! I love reading this series! I can’t get enough! The storyline is fast paced and the characters are smart, sexy and have wonderful chemistry. I enjoyed meeting Mia. She really has that spunk and stamina that surprised me a time or two. The male MC we have jot seen a lot of and I actually grew to like him. He has no plans for love or marriage. I loved watching his turn around as he discovers all consuming love.

This is 820 pages of pure mafia bliss. Sexy and possessive men, strong sassy ladies and all the action you can handle. I highly recommend this series and this book!

Mafia Elite Series Box Set Volume 2 by Amy McKinley – Review by Ayla Eddy

Mafia Elite Box Set: Volume TwoMafia Elite Box Set: Volume Two by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Mafia Elite Series Box Set: Volume two contains books 4-7. Each book can be read as a stand alone but contains the same cast of characters with each book focusing on a different pairing of main characters. Every book sucks you in from the first page to the last. You will never be disappointed as each book is a different story line with action, plot twists, romance, danger, and well crafted characters that are not carbon copies of one another. Absolutely one of my favorite series and I highly recommend the Mafia Elite series. With this box set you can binge read the following four books.

Savage Secrets, Book 4- Born and raised a Mafia Princess Elena knows that in order to survive she must always be looking over her shoulder. A new life under a new identity that cost her cutting all family ties. It is years before her cover is blown. To stay alive she must return home to the world she ran from. Marco believes the only woman he ever loved is dead, but learns she is very much alive. For how long? Marco must be quicker than the enemies in getting to her or she will truly be dead. Marriage for protection of her life is arranged.

Ruthless Heir Book 5- Luc has worked hard for what he has from the ground up. Becoming the heir to the Brambilla mafia wasn’t something he planned on, but he didn’t shy away from the opportunity once it presented itself. Summer is on the run and trying to survive under the radar. It is with a few drinks that she finds herself with Luc for a one night stand. At least that is how it started. Romance, danger, and the mafia? What could be more tempting to read about.

Collateral Damage Book 6- Surgeon and mafia man Trey La Rosa is the main male lead of this story line. After losing a lover from outside of his criminal world he finds himself hard pressed to be in love with another woman. Hailey daughter of the woman that owns the hospital where Trey works finds herself walking the line of the dark side. Out to get her step father for his misdeeds against her mother and the children’s wing finds herself kidnapped. Working with the hot doctor to follow the missing money eill Hailey find the answers she seeks? How dark and twisted will her world become involving the mafia doctor? Will Trey find his true love and happiness with Hailey?

Rivals Book 7- This book is just as amazing and page turning as the six books that came before it. With every story, including this one, the author manages to captive you with a different scenario of the same mafia world. This is another amazing mafia romance and sports the enemies-to-over trope with the tale of Nico and Mia.

Mia, mafia princess from New York, is in trouble and the person she has chosen for help? Nico la Rosa an underboss of a Chicago mafia family, aka the enemy. Will Nico be able to look past the title of enemy to protect Mia and help her take down her own family?
