Breach of Trust by Cynthia Hamilton is the 8th book in the Madeline Dawkins series. It is able to be read as a standalone though you would probably have a better understanding of the intricacies if you’d read the previous books. Madeline, a PI, and her team have three new cases dropped in their lap in a single hour – malicious letters directed at residents of a retirement village, a missing 18 year old, and a very nasty divorce. While the team seeks to resolve all three cases at once, readers are brought along for the crazy ride. It features a fast-paced storyline, enjoyable twists, and a well-written protagonist you’ll love to hate.

Breach of Trust is the eighth book in the Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton. Once again, Madeline, Mike, and team must hit the ground running as three new, complicated, cases land on their desks. From a very contentious divorce, a father’s desperate plea for help, to malicious poison pen letters- the team will need to divide and conquer. Facing challenges is all in a days work for this plucky team- but there are some emotional stumbling blocks, especially for Madeline, as unsettling similarities between her current case and her harrowing past personal experience puts her on alert. What happens definitely makes for a riveting read….. I devoured the book in one sitting as I needed to know how everything would play out in the end. This is another exciting instalment in this fabulous series and Ms. Hamilton has, once again, upped the ante here by crafting fresh, new, exciting, and gripping investigations for MDPI (and us) to sink their (our) teeth into. This story is full of challenging investigative details, private investigating procedures, stalking, suspicious business dealings, danger, drama, malicious torment, harassment, undercover PI work, secrets, lies, desperate deals, tension, adventure, mystery, suspense, intrigue, and so much more. As with the other books in the series, this could be read as a standalone- but having said that, I highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one, as even though each book is self-contained, and each delivers its own fantastic read- all combined, they really help to build detail, character information and development, and impart other important and intriguing information that builds a bigger picture and offers insightful crumbs, which will definitely enhance your overall reading experience. Trust me guys, it really is worth starting this series at the beginning! Cynthia Hamilton is one of my favourite authors, and Madeline Dawkins is one of my ‘must read- no questions asked’ series that I have loved since devouring book one. I doubt if I will ever tire of her adventures- so, the next instalment can’t come quickly enough! Happy Reading…

Breach of Trust is the 8th book in the Madeline Dawkins series. Of the few I’ve read of this series this one was my favorite. It was a creative story that reminds me of the 90s with pen letters and more. So many twists and turns that just fit together.

Madeline Dawkins and company are at it again with another mystery or three to solve! Just when things seem to hit a lull, MDPI scores three new cases in a day to investigate.
Case 1 involves a girl who is missing. She has recently escaped a cult and is wandering around trying to find a place to fit in while trying not to be found by the cult members.
Case 2 involves a series of mystery letters at a local assisted living home. One of these letters led to someone taking their own life….or did they?
Case 3 involves a crazy soon-to-be ex-husband who is hiding all kinds of treasures from his soon-to-be ex-wife. She’s the one who stands to lose everything but hopefully that can be avoided!
Things are getting a little busy so the team decides to split up to divide and conquer. This is going to take some coordination, lots of coffee, some patience, and maybe the rustling of some feathers to close these cases!
I have only read one other book by this author but she is quickly finding a way to my top list of authors. This book is fast-paced and full of adventure. I could hardly wait to see what was going to happen next with these cases. This book is part of a series but it’s not necessary to read previous stories to appreciate this one. I need to go back and read the first six in this series! If you love a great mystery involving a private eye, this is for you!

This series is fantastic and this is another great book to add to the collection. I always find it so easy to reconnect with these characters and pick back up with their story. I like that they are keeping my interest even though we are eight books into the series. This particular story is fast paced with a lot going on. Juggling three cases at once would be challenging for most and yet the story, characters and author handled it with ease. I didn’t get confused by any of them and could follow along which each case. I looked forward to the resolution of them all. I have enjoyed this latest addition and will be looking forward to more.

Breach of Trust is the eighth book in The Madeline Dawkins series. This can be read as a standalone and enjoyed. I recommend reading the earlier books first to enjoy them fully. Madeline and Mike are back at it with a busy workload. Hit with three cases at the same time, and they tackle all of them. I know this can sound like a lot to handle in one book, but the author takes the storytelling well without leading to a confusing or bogged-down read. I always enjoy the dialogue between Madeline and Mike. One of the cases involves a horrible ex-husband that Madeline relates to all too well. Also, one of the cases involves a senior retirement village with a poison pen writer. Even though we have the same primary characters in each book, they are still developing and have yet to get stale. Madeline has come a long way since the first book. I look forward to reading more in this series.

This is the eighth book in The Madeline Dawkins series and is 405 pages in length. This story follows Private Investigator Madeline on her adventures. Her and her PI husband, Mike, land three cases all at once. An extortion case, a missing person case, and an ugly divorce. How will she be able to manage this all! This is one of those books where you will not be able to put it down.

This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the start. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series as well. One of the things I enjoy most about this author is her ability to pull me into her stories. She uses details to make the story feel realistic. This book is no different. Madeline is back for another suspenseful mystery in this book. I enjoy her character and what she brings to the story. She is my favorite for sure. I found this book to be well written and engaging. This is a story that is hard to put down that has twists and turns that you won’t see coming. There is great growth with the characters as well as the plot throughout the story. Find out what investigation Madeline has gotten herself into this time. I enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it.

A missing person case, anonymous letters, and a divorce case that will give you chills…these are the fun things that Mike and Maddie get to look into in this installment of the Madeline Dawkins series. I found the story quite exciting and action packed. It’s fairly fast-paced and full of drama. The characters are all pretty relatable. I will be waiting to see what happens with a certain beloved senior citizen. For having three storylines basically going at the same time, I enjoyed how well they were all tied in together. It felt smooth and flawless. This is my third foray into this series. I will have to go back and start from book 1.

5 stars Breach of Trust is the eighth book in the thrilling Madeline Dawkins series. I love that Cynthia cleverly weaves several plots into a story keeping the readers and characters on their toes. I also love that Cynthia puts something in the story that makes me laugh even in the midst of hell. I cannot stress enough that these books should be read in order to ensure you get the background of the characters. Breach of Trust is a page turner that will have you invested in what is going on and will have you on the edge of your seat. Monte Verde is suddenly not the safe and compassionate assisted living complex for the elderly as meets the eye as Madeline Dawkins and the MDPI team find out. With poison pen letters, dark secrets, blackmail and a lot of resentment can Madeline solve the mystery before things have deadly consequences? Not only that but helping a woman with her ugly divorce with a nasty estranged husband brings the past out of hiding for Madeline. As always, I look forward to more.

Three new cases come to the MDPI team on the same morning…
When PI Madeline Dawkins is summoned to Monte Verde―the serene assisted living complex where her father resides―she’s concerned Mack’s ideal setup is about to come to an end. Instead, the facility director enlists MDPI’s help in resolving a very troubling situation.
Someone is sending poison pen letters to the residents at Monte Verde, hinting at dark secrets from their pasts—accusations that have already driven one elderly woman to take her own life.
Back at the office, Jack Waverly, the attorney next door, has a client going through a very nasty divorce. Janelle Marsby’s estranged husband has launched a particularly ugly intimidation offensive designed to wear her down. The tactics Roy’s using to coerce Janelle into giving up her share of their community property assets are ruthless and criminal. Their mission is to keep Janelle safe while they dig up all of Roy’s shady dealings.
Glen Langford enlists Mike’s help in finding his 18 year old daughter who ran off with a cult five months earlier. His own searches led him through five states before his last tip led him to Santa Barbara. His biggest break came from a rancher who took Alison in after he ran the cult off his land, only to learn that she had been physically, sexually and psychologically abused by the leader of the cult.
It’s all hands on deck as the MDPI team tackle all three urgent cases, racing against time.
Cynthia Hamilton started writing 2000 as a means of coping with a mystery illness that was finally diagnosed as late-stage Lyme Disease nine years after the onset. Writing has been her lifeline and a way to channel that overly-active inner voice. That horrible disease turned out to be a blessing in disguise, giving her a career she never imagined for herself, one that never gets old.
She is currently working on the 9th book in the Madeline Dawkins Mystery Series and is still finding inspiration from her protagonist. She lives in Santa Barbara, California with her husband. She loves reading, writing and walking for hours, especially on the beach. She considers herself immensely fortunate.
