Perfect. Sometimes I just need a sweet, sexy and no drama romance. This hit the spot. Noah being in love with Zara for so long had me falling in love with him. This author creates a light story but also sheds light on real genuine issues. Noah and his panic attacks and Zara with her fear of falling in love. My heart just melted watching how Noah had no problem waiting for Zara as long as it took and seeing Zara talk with her friends and realize things about herself was sweet. I love their love.

Grand Slam
By: Bree Kraemer

This is the third book in the Ground Rule Series. Each book definitely functions as a standalone. However, I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and definitely recommend reading the whole thing as each book is so very good. This is a contemporary sports romance with characters who are so very well written. The main characters have such amazing chemistry and its the type of book that I love, the kind that you wish will never end. I have thoroughly become invested and involved in the world that Bree Kraemer creates in each of her books. It doesn’t hurt that this features baseball players, as I enjoy baseball and grew up both playing softball and surrounded by family members that have played throughout high school and in their adult years. Bree Kraemer writes characters who have fantastic banter and the dialogue between Heath and Grace definitely falls into this category. I hope that this is not the end of the series as I have loved every book so far!

Two different worlds collide
The third book in the Ground Rules series and I’m loving this series. This is Heath (Hannah’s brother) and Grace’s story. I really like how the series has the continuation of storylines from the previous books and the characters crossover. There’s drama, chemistry, baseball and of course steam as these two work out their relationship. Looking forward to more from this author. Recommend.

This book is part of a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. This is the third book but I highly suggest reading the previous two books as well. They are just as great if not greater. I have enjoyed reading this author’s books as I know that I am in for a journey of romance and a great story. This is a well written story about being from two different worlds but what happens when the attraction is greater. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world with ease. They are strong, supportive and add so much to the story. This is a romance story that is easy to read and hard to put down. I enjoyed watching the growth of the relationship as well as the chemistry between these two. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

I loved this 3rd book of the Ground Rule series…..full of enemies to lovers, baseball, spicy romance, new beginnings, meddling friends, a sweet shelter dog and a relentless family. This story of Heath and Grace was fantastic and I highly recommend reading this series in order due to all the characters are woven in each book story-line so wonderfully, every book comes in full circle.

Heath is loving life being a professional baseball player and being surrounded by his wonderful family and friends. The one thing Heath does not have is a family of a wife and kids of his own. When Heath’s sister has her baby, Heath is love at first sight with his precious niece. The one woman he cannot get out of his mind is Grace…who works at local animal shelters.

Grace is focused on being independent and solely relies on herself in life. Working long hours at the local animal shelters, she does not have time for the dating scene and she sure as heck has no time for Heath. At a charity auction, Grace was not overly impressed with Heath and wanted nothing to do with him.

When a chance encounter brings Heath and Grace back….with the sparks fly or will the bitterness get between them? Will Grace swallow her pride and finally feel that she is truly good enough for Heath?

Highly recommended sports romance and I loved every character in these books so much and felt so invested. I cannot wait to see what this author has in the future for me to read :).

I’ve read the first two books in the Ground Rule series and this third one is just as good as the other two. All can be read as a stand alone but I do like knowing a bit of the back stories. Bree Kraemer does a wonderful job of helping you envision every moment in the book. Heath and Grace’s banter back and forth leading to the best decision. A wonderful read that will keep you engulfed for hours.

An enjoyable and engaging sports romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Professional baseball player Heath Bailey has a good life, amazing friends and family, and his team just won the championship, but he wants someone to love. Well, not just someone but the women he can’t get off his mind, Grace, and so in an attempt to see her he decides to go to the animal shelter that she runs and get a dog. Having met the incredibly cocky and arrogant baseball player at an event for the animal shelter and disliked him, Grace Dyer is not that happy to see him again. However, after their second encounter she can’t seem to stop thinking about him, but coming from different worlds she doesn’t think that a relationship would work, but Heath has other ideas! A sweet and steamy romance between two characters who’s chemistry sizzled off the page.

Grand Slam is the third book in the Ground Rule sports series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but you should start at the beginning with Walk Off and work your way through.
Bree’s storytelling and the ease in which she comes up with amazing stories and the journey into relationships. This book is well written and is fun and with humour and emotional and intense at times. The story flows nicely and making it a quick and easy read making it easy to become lost in the story. The stories will keep you on your toes to see how things go and by the time you have finished you won’t be disappointed.
Bree writes complex characters that are relatable and know what they want. Each couple have their own trials and tribulations to work through to become one. The men in the series will make you all hot and sweaty and these sassy and smart women feel like friends. The story is steamy with yet at times emotional and intense.
Grace has never met a man she disliked so much until she met him. Now it appears he is back in her life, and she sees another side to him. Not that it would ever work. Or would it?
Heath has everything he has ever wanted but the one thing to make him complete. Now he is ready to move the bases and make his play.
I highly recommend you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait to see what Bree comes up with next.

Sacrifice Bunt is the second book in the Ground Rule Series. This is a wonderfully written Sports Romance that once you start reading its hard to put down. I literally read this in one sitting as I had to know how things were going to end. These two have some serious chemistry between. This author is one of the reasons I love Sports Romance so much. Her attention to detail makes the story come off the pages along with creative, yet strong and fully developed characters. This is definitely my favorite of this series yet. This is a fast paced story that will have you turning the pages. Can these have more than one night? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens between Noah and Zara. Im super excited about the next book in this series and looking forward to reading more from this Author.

This is book 2 Ground Rules Series, it can be read as a stand-alone but it’s nice to have the other story. I loved Noah and Zara’s story. Zara is a confident career driven woman. As a sports agent she has a rule to never get involved with a man that plays sports. Noah, an all star sports player, who’s been in love with her since that night he rescued her from a fire. Their chemistry is strong, neither can deny it. Once they finally reconnect, sparks fly! Watching them learn to understand each other and themselves is was wonderful. I’m very excited for the next story in this series.

Grand Slam is the third book in the Ground Rule Series by Bree Kraemer. This is a sublime contemporary sports romance with a bit of an opposites attract element, drama, angst, chemistry, and emotion.
As expected, this story made my heart feel every detail- experiencing every high and low right beside the characters as the story unfolded. Ms. Kraemer has a talent for heartfelt stories- and always manages to pack a lot of heart and soul into her books. While also crafting endearing characters you feel you ‘know’ and want to hang out with- even if they frustrate the death out of you from time to time.
This is the third book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. But having said that, I highly recommend reading the other books in the series as well because they are equally as good. I’m not sure if this third book is the final in the series, as there is no mention of a fourth book (yet). But I sure hope there is more coming…
Happy reading.

Thank you, Bree Kraemer!

This is book 3 of this series, and can be read as a standalone, though I don’t know why you’d want to!

Heath Bailey is a professional baseball player who first meets Grace Dyer while helping his friend and business manager, Zara, with a bachelor auction to benefit the animal shelter that Grace runs. At first, both Grace and Heath think that they hate the other person. Heath doesn’t like Grace because she’s bossy and he feels like she treats him like he’s stupid. She hates him because he is rich and she is afraid that he will look down on her. When Heath’s sister unexpectedly goes into labor on the weekend of her baby shower, it leaves Heath and Grace unexpectedly alone in her house, where both start to question their feelings for one another. When Heath adopts a dog from the shelter Grace runs, and unexpectedly rescues Grace from a set up for a date with a friend of her brothers (that she wants no part of) by pretending to be her boyfriend for a family dinner, the pair start to spend time together and sparks fly, despite Grace trying her hardest not to let that happen. There is plenty of steamy scenes, lots of heart and even a sweet dog (or more), and a guaranteed happily ever after.

This was a sweet, steamy romance that will melt your heart. Baseball, animals, babies, and a true love…who can want more. These two sparked at the bachelor auction and tried to avoid it. They tried to push each other away but not happening. I enjoyed watching this relationship develop as Grace came with a lot of baggage that she had to work out. As she came to realize that she is a strong woman, the story became so much better. With Zara involved as your friend, you know it’s going to happen. Heath brings goodness to the story. Another wonderful installment to the series. A quick, entertaining read.

Sacrifice Bunt (Ground Rule Book 2)Sacrifice Bunt by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book two of the series. Each book can be read as a standalone but honestly both books so far have been really good so I recommend both!

Zara doesn’t do relationships. She has her career and her no strings attached approach to “relationships”. Noah poses an interesting challenge though. That being, he’s been attracted to her since he found her naked on his couch. Zara, however, just needs to convince herself that she can’t stand him and doesn’t want him. Can Noah be patient enough to win her over or will he get the message Zara is trying to send?

I really enjoyed this book. I’m not surprised though because the first one was good too! This book has just the right amount of push and pull between the characters. You quickly get invested in the story and can’t wait to see how it plays out. I highly recommend!

Zara doesn’t do relationships. No plans at any point to be with anyone long term, and with her job she swears off athletes. She’s living the life she wants.

Noah Ashe is a threat to her lifestyle though.

Ever since he walked in to her naked on his couch, Noah hasn’t been able to stop thinking about her. Unfortunately, Zara hates him.

One night, that’s all her friend needs her help for, but that one night changes everything. Can they make it work or is someone walking away injured?
I found this book to be sweet and enjoyable. There were some really fun parts and Zara is pretty amusing. I found that one of her “quirks” was mentioned too late in the storyline though and I feel that it would have been more understandable if it had been used in the beginning and throughout instead of right near the end.

I definitely plan on reading more in the series despite not being a huge sports romance fan. I like the spice.

Celia is living a good life with her daughter. She has a good job and great friends to make her life run a bit smoother. The last person she expects to run into is someone she let go of a long time ago. There is a huge secret she had kept from him and it looks like the time has come to let everything out. Kyle is living his dream life playing a sport that he loves, but he is missing out on sharing it with the one that he loves. Fate steps in and puts her back in his path at a mutual friends wedding. Will they pick up where they left off or will Celia’s secret tear them apart forever? This is a feel good second chance romance. You are definitely rooting for the couple to work things out and end up together. This is the first book I have read by this author and really enjoyed her writing style. She does a great job of bringing out the emotions of the characters and making you feel what they feel. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.

Zara is a great, strong female lead. As a sports agent she gets along with everyone and gets the job done closing out deals. The one person she can’t tolerate, or so she keeps telling herself, is Noah Ashe. He’s done nothing to her to warrant such hatred except for walk in on her naked, save her life and then vanish. Noah had his reasons for vanishing and he has yet to share that with anyone but his therapist. Maybe Zara will be the first? After Zara said no to being his agent it has become his mission to annoy her. Due to unforseen circumstances Zara is asked to step in at the tale end of a deal by her good friend and Noah’s agent. The last thing either of them expected was to share a kiss at the end of the night. Noah is all for moving forward and having a possible relationship, but is Zara? In my opinion this book is too short, BUT it is good! The author made both characters very relatable and really brought their personalities to life. It was fun to see Zara come to the realization that she had romantic feelings for Noah and that she felt less lonely when he was around. Although this is part of a series you can read it as a stand alone.

Another good story in this series. I was super excited for these two’s story. I struggled with Zara a bit since she is so wishywashy but eventually I understood her though and reasoning. Noah is just the best guy every. Yes he has a few hangups but overall he is a forever guy. He is kind, patient and a all around nice guy that everyone likes. I loved the Auction scenes! Very humorous. We do see characters from previous books in here as well as from other series (which I have not read) a few scenes seemed the same with just different secondary characters.

Overall this is a good story. It has characters that did some growing and changing. I look forward to the next in the series.

Sacrifice Bunt
By: Bree Kraemer

I am absolutely loving this series by Bree Kraemer. I love baseball so this series featuring Baseball Players is a no brainer for me to read. What I wasn’t expecting is that the plot would be so well written and would suck me in from the first word.
Zara is an incredibly strong, independent woman. She has a career she loves and she definitely prides herself on not getting attached. She never expected that the one person who would get under her skin would be a pro baseball player. Its important to note that Noah and Zara have history and not any kind of history but the kind of history where everyone hopes they never see each other again. But yet they do and boy do sparks fly.
I love the banter between Zara and Noah. It just seemed like it was inevitable that their chemistry would win, despite any personal feelings that they may have. However, when they have to be professional with one another their chemistry is undeniable. I definitely love this series and recommend that everyone read this.

Sacrifice Bunt (Ground Rule Book 2)Sacrifice Bunt by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Zara has her career and her love and leave them attitude but there is only man that has managed to get under her skin is Noah Ashe, since college and him walking in on her in a compromising position and walking away she has had this innate compulsion to fight with him. So when Hannah her best friend asks her to fill in for her in big business meeting will she make it through dinner or kill Noah.

Noah has had feelings for Zara ever since her found her in his apartment in college naked waiting for his room mate, over the years it has become a cat and mouse game with her to annoy her as much as possible his own kind of foreplay, but when she accompanies him to a business deal he cant let his pent up attraction hid anymore and with the single kiss his world is spinning out of control on its axis, but when Zara shuts him down will he get a second chance.

Zara is still dreaming about the kiss but can she break her own rules and decide to give Noah a try or will it end in tears and ruin friendships.

This is the second book in the Ground Rule series and is absolutely brilliant. I am glad that these two characters are the second story as you get a hint of the frustration of these two characters in the first book but they just explode off the page in this book.

I always love a strong female character and Zara is that to a tee but it is always lovely to see the vulnerable side and the fact that she is lonely and that Noah fills that void without her really understanding or knowing that she needed it was brilliant to read. Noah’s character although is tough and strong alpha having flaws with him was lovely to read and be empathic with a male mental health is now coming to the forefront.

Although as I said this is the second book in the series this book can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the first book and get to see the blossoming relationship of Celia and Kyle. Thank you for this story and hope to read more in the future.

This series is nothing but amazing. I loved the first book and wasn’t sure I’d enjoy this one as much. Boy was I wrong. Zara and Noah made an appearance in the first book and they finally have their shot to tell their story. Zara is probably one of the strongest female characters I’ve been able to stand reading. I loved her from the beginning. She is the type of girl who isn’t looking for love. She wants to get what she needs and move on. She met Noah many years ago in college and thought he didn’t remember who she was. Boy was she wrong. There was a reason why he left her standing there after the fire the way he did. He wanted nothing more than to get to know her but, everyone has some baggage / stressful things they can’t bare. When Noah and Zara finally have to be in the same room without any buffers the sparks will fly. Zara tries to push Noah away at every turn but, Noah is a lot stronger and a lot more patient then she thinks. This was such a great 5+ star read. Cannot wait to read the next book.

This is the second in the Ground Rule series, a lovely addition to the series. Each book can be read as a standalone as each book focuses on a different couple. Characters from the first book do pop up so I would recommend reading the first to get a clearer picture of who everyone is.

I love a good ‘enemies to lovers’ trope so I knew I’d enjoy this book. The plot was enjoyable and flowed well, as did the author’s writing style making more an easy read. Although it isn’t exactly enemies to lovers, it was still a fun story to get lost in.

I loved the characters of Zara and Noel and am so happy with the conclusion of their story.

This is the first book in the Ground Rule series and, for me, served as a great introduction to the author.

I enjoyed the writing style the author used, that alongside the plot flowed well and make for an easy read. The characters were lovable and well-written, their chemistry almost tangible. I really enjoyed Celia and Kyle as a couple and was rooting for them throughout.

The story was sweet, and I can see why the characters made the decisions they did out of love. I was emotionally invested in Celia and Kyle’s journey and am happy with how their story ends.

This was the first book I read by the author and I’m now a fan, I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Sacrifice Bunt (Ground Rule Book 2)Sacrifice Bunt by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the sound book in the Ground Rule Series. I recommend reading the Walk Off first because there is a cross-over of characters and it will help you better understand these characters.

Zara is a highly independent woman that knows what she wants and goes for it. She is not afraid to admit that she loves sex and does not care much for relationships. As a woman in a male-dominated field, she has to work harder and have a backbone of steel.

Noah Ashe is an MLB player and friends with one of the men that Zara works for. Noah is a private person and avoids the spotlight and tabloids as much as possible. He is intrigued by Zara because they have a history. He walked in on her naked in this apartment one day when she was waiting for someone else. From that day on he has wanted her. The confidence of this woman was like a beacon to him.

What happens when someone who sees you in a vulnerable state comes back into your life? Is the tension just sexual or is there more? Will he be able to melt her ice-cold heart or will she remain anti-relationships?

Read this book to find out if Noah gets the girl. You will also need water to help cool you off. There is a lot of spice and steamy scenes. Read in public at your own digression.

Walk OffWalk Off by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was an amazing read with a lot of heartfelt moments. Bree does an amazing job of bringing up real-world problems in this book.

Celia is a woman who is built a family in a town with her friends and her sister. When she was younger she made a major mistake and let someone go when she should have been honest. She lived eight years knowing that she lied to the one person who meant the world to her.

Kyle is a man with a job that now has a lot of press and gets him noticed everywhere he goes. When he accepts an invitation from a friend to come to an event he did not go expecting to see the woman who stole and broke his heart. He spent years trying to move on and forget her but who can forget the person that has their heart?

What happens when the truth comes out? Can you forgive someone for lying to you and using the most hateful words to get you to leave? Was it really love or was it just first love?

Read this book to find out what happens with Kyle and Celia. Will they be able to reconcile?

I enjoy her writing skills and attention to detail that make her stories pop. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story about two people a little reluctant to open themselves up to romance. What will happen with these two if they do? I enjoyed how they pulled me into their world of romance and their one night. This is a fast paced story that is engaging and had me wanting to know what happens between these two. I enjoyed watching their chemistry and growth throughout. Baseball romance
The second book in the Ground Rule series and we have Zara, a confident sports agent who knows what she wants and that’s no strings attached. Then there’s Noah, straight shooting and comfortable with who he is. The author has a flare for writing deep characterisation and storyline without making it wordy or confusing. I was engaged from the start and wanted their HEA. Looking forward to Book 3! Recommend.

Sacrifice Bunt (Ground Rule Book #2) by Bree Kraemer – Review by Angela Hayes

Sacrifice Bunt (Ground Rule Book 2)Sacrifice Bunt by Bree Kraemer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sacrifice Bunt is the second book in the Ground Rule Series by Bree Kraemer. This is a superb contemporary sports romance with a bit of an enemies to lovers element, chemistry, sizzle, friendship, banter, humour, emotion, drama, angst, and more.
As expected from Ms. Kraemer- Zara and Noah pulled me in right from the beginning and had me fully invested in them and the outcome of their story.
Bring on Book #3!
Happy reading.

Thank you, Bree Kraemer!
