My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve read many books by this author, and I am never disappointed. I really hope that we get more books in this series and get to see how everything works out for all of the other characters. Once again, I’m invested in another Isla Vaughn series.

The London Detective Agency is a fast-paced, happily ever after thriller. I initially read the second book in this series, and after, I really needed to get all of Patrick and Evie’s story. I couldn’t put this one down.

Love and Fate (Braebeach Rockstar #2)Love and Fate by Loriana Cappello
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Second chance romance? Yes. The years that have passed since Angie and Tommy went separate ways have led to a lot of heartache and growth. This one starts off with a punch to the gut and a ton of heartbreak. But it leads to something fated.

Midnight Falls by John Evans – Review by Brittany Angel

Midnight FallsMidnight Falls by John (ronin) Evans
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Midnight Falls was the perfect prelude into spooky season. We meet our main character, Josh, at the end of the story as he sets up the tale for us. There are creatures unknown and secrets in a small town. As we reach the climax, your heart rate is definitely running rampant. The writing gives off Grady Hendrix vibes in a wonderful way. If you aren’t a big horror reader, this is a great introduction.

Forbiddenly Yours (Titans of Chicago, #2)Forbiddenly Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forbiddenly Yours was right in line with everything I’ve read from this author. The characters are able to draw you in from the very start and keep you hoping for them. The twists will surprise you for sure. There were several points in the second half of the book where a bit more editing could have been done. But other than that, very enjoyable.

Be My Little Baby (London Detective Agency Book 2)Be My Little Baby by Stephanie R. Caffrey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! I did not expect to like this as much as I did as it’s not my typical genre/tropes. When Tessa realizes she is being stalked, and she gets no help from the police, she hires a private detective, and things take off from there. The suspense was suspensing. The romance was romancing. A slow, will they, won’t they. The climax of the story had me literally gasping lout loud. This book was inclusive and had a wonderful steady plot from start to finish.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting into with Dark is the Wood initially. But by the end, I could not put this down. Not even when I went to the gym! I was that person on the treadmill, kindle in hand, because I couldn’t stop reading it, but exercise is important. I would read a full-blown series in this world. I wasn’t ready to put this down, and I’m going to miss the characters!

Blurring The Lines is everything you’d expect in a prequel. I went into this one, having never read the other installments of the Blind Rebels series, and now I’ve downloaded all of them to read. I am looking forward to getting to know each of the characters more and learn about each of their stories.

Toasted (Love Burns Series Book 1) by Isobel Reed – Review by Brittany Angel

Toasted (Love Burns #1)Toasted by Isobel Reed
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Toasted is a fast-paced, small-town romance. When Libby finds herself needing the fire department so soon after moving to a new town, she has no idea what she’s in for when Zach is one of the firefighters who show up to help her. What quickly ensues is a romance she never knew she could want or have. Their banter was fun to read, and the supporting characters were all excellent additions that hopefully get their own stories soon!

Moonlight Drive by A.R. Hadley – Review by Brittany Angel

Moonlight DriveMoonlight Drive by A.R. Hadley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moonlight Drive was an emotional ride. The timelines go back and forth as you get to know the main characters, Dani and Nick. There is sex, drugs, and rock & roll. There is also heartbreak and a lot of the right person and the wrong time, but it was worth it. Many parts were very reminiscent of The Dirt. Mind your trigger warnings.

Wow! I went into this with absolutely zero knowledge on what this was about, and I was blown away. The way the story unfolds and flows is perfect. I enjoyed every character that was introduced and how they interacted on the page. I absolutely need to go back and read the previous installments in this series.

I am never one to turn down a sweet hockey romance. Mood Swings and Hockey Flings was definitely entertaining and worth the read. Kaitlyn with a K and Banks kept the pace moving right along and eventually made it to their happy ending. There were some snags along the way, but they were all worth it.

Touched: Elemental Passions Book One by Skye Turner, Sloane Nicole, April D. Berry, C.J. Pinard, Danielle Jamie, Darlene Tallman, Julie Morgan, Livell James, Machelle Hanleigh, and Melissa MacKinnon – Review by Brittany Angel

Touched (Elemental Passions #1)Touched by Skye Turner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Touched was a quick, entertaining read. It takes place in New Orleans, LA and, at first, is very reminiscent of the Wicked series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Which also takes place on New Orleans. I found LeBlanc and many of the supporting characters fun to read. Though this has multiple authors, it reads as though there was only one. I look forward to reading the next installment when it is released.

CUTTER (Devils’ Spawn Daddies Series) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Brittany Angel

Cutter: Devils' Spawn DaddiesCutter: Devils’ Spawn Daddies by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Emily is a detective who has worked hard to get to where she is. But despite that, there are people on the force who are not her friends. When she finds a big case that could make her career, she enlists Cutter, the SAA, for a local MC. But it has to be underwraps. This is a DDLG dynamic, and if that is your thing, this is definitely for you. As a reader who prefers a full plot with a little spice vs. all spice and little plot, this wasn’t my favorite. The conversations between characters were sometimes written in a way that didn’t sound like how people actually talk to each other, and I found that pulling me out. All in all, if this is the type of trope and dynamic you’re into, this is for you.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Okay, I enjoyed this installment of The Savage Duet much more than the first. You can tell that these characters really grew on the author. While I found the pacing a little off at times, everything seemed to really come together for the second half of the book.

Song of Earth and ClawsSong of Earth and Claws by Lena Abram
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Song of Earth and Claws has all the making of a fantastic fantasy series! There is political intrigue, duels, and an interesting magic system. I really enjoyed the way the main character is not what she seems and really starts to bring people to her side without them even realizing it. I wish that the world building had gone a little more in-depth, but I wasn’t disappointed. I’m hoping to see more in this world.

A King So Savage (The Savage Duet #1)A King So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I really wanted to like this one. It’s your typical trope of kidnapping the sister of a man who owes you money while driving her mad with lust and the ending on a cliff hanger. I think for me, there just needed to be a bit more editing. For those who are fans of this trope and genre, you will enjoy it. It just wasn’t for me.

Dangerous Rhythm (The Echo Series, #4)Dangerous Rhythm by C.R. Alam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As with every installment in The Echo Series, you are in for a sweet happily ever after. But the journey that the couple takes to get there is where all the fun is. Lina and Curtis’ love story is just as sweet as all of the installments, and they definitely have the strangest meet cute I’ve ever read. But it all works out.

What do you get when the son of a farmer dreams of a more fast-paced life? A whirlwind of a story, that’s what. Fenimore always wanted more, so he decided to leave home to find the adventures he’d always dreamed of. This is an excellent book for any Western fans out there. You will find yourself drawn in from the very start and won’t be able to put it down.

Wicked Games (Hidden Valley Elite #7)Wicked Games by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once again, I find myself flying through another Hidden Valley Elite installment… this time while literally flying. I really enjoyed learning more about Shane’s back story in this one, as he’s always just been on the outskirts previously. My ONLY complaint is that I wish we didn’t end on a cliffhanger. Each installment in this series ends on a cliffhanger and could easily have each duet be one book. But I will wait as patiently as I can for the next one.

Wild Lavender (Heart & Hand Series Book 1) by Nicole E. Kelleher – Review by Brittany Angel

Wild Lavender (Heart & Hand, #1)Wild Lavender by Nicole E. Kelleher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wild Lavender was intriguing from the very start. Anna, newlywed to Roger, looks forward to starting her life with him at his home. Unfortunately, things seem off from the first few people she meets there and all too violently she learns just what kind of man her husband is. War is coming, and Anna must do what it takes to save her family and people. Larkin, a man from her past, is suddenly thrust right back into her life, and it may make things worse, or he may be who she’s been needing all along.

I enjoyed Anna’s resilience in this and her care and devotion to others. I look forward to seeing more from this series.

Wild For Me (The Balefire Series Book 3) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Brittany Angel

Wild For Me (Balefire, #3)Wild For Me by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great one in the Balefire series. Wild For Me is book 3 in the series but can be read as a standalone. When Dakota and Annabelle cross paths again for the first time since their one wild, crazy night, sparks fly. Soon, Annabelle scores the internship of a lifetime and will once again be in Dakota Perri’s orbit. This was a fun, quick read and does really well telling the characters stories. I will, however, stand by my stance that a miscommunication trope is never a good choice. It’s always too predictable and seems 100% avoidable, but alas, it still worked out, and we got out HEA.

When I tell you, I inhaled this book. I absolutely inhaled it. Cruel Love picks up right where we were left at the end of Cruel Hate. (Man, that cliffhanger!) While there are some obstacles for the characters to overcome, they overcome them quickly and lead you to exactly where you want to see them. Except for the latest cliffhanger! Setting you up perfectly for the next installment! I’m dying to find out what happens next!

I don’t know how Isla Vaughn does it, but she has a way of pulling you in, twisting you all around, and leaving you gasping right at the very end. Cruel King by K.M. Scott – Review by Brittany Angel

Cruel KingCruel King by K.M. Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You definitely get more than you expect with Cruel King! The grumpy male main character, Matthias, is devastatingly sad with the world on his shoulders. Our main female character, Ava, is head strong and knows what she wants. Ava is best friends with Matthias’ younger brother, but she and Matthias have never really meshed well, but one day, fate brought them together just as fast as it tore them apart. There is definitely heartbreak in this novel, but also a lot of character growth and love. I need a different book for every brother.
