Journeys Through TimeSpaceJourneys Through TimeSpace by James Talisman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the the Journeys Through series by James Talisman but it could definitely be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed this latest addition in the series more than the first and couldn’t put it down. The time travel parts were really interesting and engaging, and I really enjoyed the development of the characters from the previous book. Can’t wait to see where it goes from here.

THE GOD (HER THREE IMMORTALS BOOK 2) by HAZEL STORM – Review by Brittany Angel

The God (Her Three Immortals, #2)The God by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vanessa is so incredibly funny. Picking up right where we we left off in The Don, Vanessa finds herself in Elysium with a not too happy Grey. While she finds new companions, she navigates the judges’ intent in bringing her there and tries to avoid drawing the attention of Grey’s mother, the Queen of the Underworld. Ultimately leading to a great setup for the next installment. I can’t wait.

AWAKENING THE GODS (RISE OF THE CELTIC GODS) by KRISTIN GLEESON – Review by Brittany Angel

Awakening the Gods (Rise of the Celtic Gods #1)Awakening the Gods by Kristin Gleeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed my read of Awakening the Gods.  The pacing was well done while taking time to build the world and characters for you. As someone who has American Gods by Neil Gaiman in their top 5 favorite books, I loved the way Kristin Gleeson introduced the Celtic gods in this book and can’t wait to see her series play out.

Read this one all the way through in one go. Very light hearted and entertaining. Carrie draws you in with an interesting take on modern Greek gods. Kat was really well written and will definitely have you giggling throughout. You’ve got all sorts of characters from Pan, to vampires, shifters, satyrs and more. All set in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

Chatroom With A View by Glenn Maynard – Review by Brittany Angel

Dark, but not horror. Chatroom With A View took me a few chapters to get pulled in and then I couldn’t put it down. The story is very well written and does its job of pulling you into the psychosis of each character. Troy is an abuse survivor and just doing his best at trying to not be like his father, but when he comes home to a traumatic event, things start to unfold and you are taken on a ride wondering how it all will end.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This one was probably a lot more science fiction than I could handle. It was a really neat concept with the multiverse and connected minds. But as a reader who does not delve into sci-fi very often, I couldn’t get engaged enough. James Talisman is definitely a great writer and I just know that those who enjoy science fiction more than I, would gobble this up entirely and beg for more.

Grave Digger Academy (Grave Digger Academy Series Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Brittany Angel

Grave Digger AcademyGrave Digger Academy by C.A. King
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Not a bad introduction into the series. A school for the witches who would protect the world from the creatures that necromancers raise-a new take on magic with heavy Harry Potter influences. The protagonist is very likeable. She asks questions that the staff at her school would rather she didn’t ask and it makes for an interesting dynamic. The pacing is very quick which makes it a book you can finish in about an hour, leaving more time to read The next installment.

This was so incredibly entertaining from start to finish. I was immediately pulled into Vanessa’s life and her interactions with Raef and Grey. Once I started, I could not stop and now I have to wait for the next installment! I cannot sing enough praises for my love of this series. Read this before getting into Brink of Denial! Such a fantastic kick off into the characters you will inevitably want more of. The novella is one you can get through in one sitting but give yourself time because you will want to immediately start the next book in the series.
