Being badgered by our mom about settling down, finding a girl and returning home just like my friends makes my hunting trip with my crew all the more welcomed. I have absolutely no intentions of settling down and giving up my career as a Coast Guard rescue swimmer.

Some person likely said that a story shouldn’t start with the main “hero” “heroine” or whoever wakes up, that it’s lazy to do so. Screw that. That’s exactly where my path to carnage ladened revenge begins. This is my tale and you’ll get exactly how I feel it’s best to dish it out.I’ve lost my memories, my life, and only know there is a single person out there I need to save. My sister. I will do anything, become anyone in order to seek out the revenge on who stole my memories and sister from me. Except, the mountain and the mortician are in my way of sacrificing myself for my sister and a life I dream for the two of us. Kidnapped by the mountain and held hostage by the mortician; I’m really going to have to put some thought behind how I’m going to get away from them. Too bad for me they are as big as psychos as I am.Trigger Warning: I’m no good with these, so I’m trying my best. There’s trauma, dismembering, torture, unaliving, kidnapping, and maybe a few other things. Like I said, I’m not good with these. I don’t have triggers when I read so pointing out ones for my own book is difficult. Enter with caution and I hope you enjoy my three psychos.

The author of this book is new to me. From the beginning, the story captured my interest. Trinity Redhawk always wanted to be a rodeo queen. But as a teen she had to give up many friendships and potential boyfriends. As she finds herself in her last year of being the rodeo queen, she’s looking forward to being a strong woman and finding a more normal life. The story is easy to read and follow. The author did a great job of world building and I could imagine the rodeo arena, the rodeo royalty, and spectators. I didn’t realize the book was part of a series. I had no problem following the story even if I didn’t know the names of all the characters.

This was such a cute little love story ! A breeze to read . I wish there had been more cute moments between Trinity & Shooter , to really get a sense of their chemistry . There was a spark , but a fire would have been delightful . Love the character growth of Trinity ! Her stepping into her power was wonderful to witness . I see the potential in this book & hope to watch it bloom too .

Trinity breaks up with her boyfriend Scooter to focus on her goals and dreams. Scooter tries to make it into law school only to not be accepted and is now making a career as a Law enforcement officer. When their paths cross again will they try again? Now that they are adults and life has changed so much for them both can they make things work? My first read for this author and yes this is the 7th book in the series but I did not feel as I was missing anything from the first books in the series.

Brooke May has become an author that I automatically add to my list whenever she comes out with a new book! I absolutely loves She’s My Rhinestone Cowgirl! Trinity and Shooter’s story is one for the ages! This is the seventh book in the series, but don’t worry…you can read this as a standalone (I did) but trust me…you will be going back to pick up the rest of the series and binging them as well. Trinity and Shooter dated early on in high school, but Trinity broke Shooter’s heart to chase her dreams. Now, Trinity has fulfilled her dream of being a rodeo queen and is almost done with that life. Shooter hasn’t quite met his life goals and is now back in his hometown as the newest deputy sheriff. Can they reconnect or is the heartbreak for both of them still too raw and real? This is a contemporary, second-chance romance that will have your heartstrings in a twist (and maybe your panties;)). The chemistry between Trinity and Shooter is undeniable and so steamy you can feel it coming off the pages. This is a must read for anyone who loves a good romance, but especially if you are partial to second chances and cowboys. Reviewed by @meggs1717

Trinity is a goal-orientated young rodeo queen who wanted to the rodeo and a social life but when her mother snapped her back to reality, Trinity puts rodeo first. Having to break Shooter Price’s heart was not how Trinity wanted to destroy their friendship. Shooter seems to move on quickly with Emily by taking her to homecoming just three months after their breakup. Shooter was the love-struck rancher who would rather put love before their dreams but his passion chose him. After graduation, Shooter goes off to college to try his hand at becoming a lawyer but he changes his mind and becomes a Deputy Sheriff. Bring him back to Elk Field’s as the new Deputy Sherif and Trinity’s reign as Elk Field’s Rodeo Queen could this be their second chance at love? This book was full of love, tears, and new determination. I love how the author builds this love story.

This is a good story the follows a couple from teens to adult. I like the idea of this and it reads very easily. It does move along at a slow pace letting the reader see where these two are now in their lives and thoughts of a future. Life revolves around the rodeo for these two. I loved that! The secondary characters are great! Some are annoying and others are ones we have seen from other books in this series. I wish more could have come from her bff to see where the jealousy came from. I also thought maybe his friend he met in sheriff school would have come into play as well.

This a cute second chance romance. Shooter and Trinity were high school sweethearts until she decided to part ways with the relationship. Several years later, Shooter is back in town with a new job and Trinity is finishing up her rodeo commitments. Trinity has decided she needs a chance of pace and wants to experience her life by making her own choices without her mother dictating her every move. You meet several characters in this read that are a part of this series. If you are looking for a quick read, make sure you grab this, it doesn’t disappoint.

Seven days, just 7 more days and the control they have on me and this crown will be over. All Trinity wants is to get her life back. Being a rodeo pageant queen was everything she had wanted and she followed the rules to the letter. Her mom and best friend were there to ensure she got to the top, controlling every minute of her day.
Shooter Price was just as ambitious as Trinity and went off to follow his own path after he was dumped by her in high school. Things didn’t work out quite as he had planned but he made the best of it and headed back home.
This is where you will have to read to find out what happens.
This was the first book I have read by this author and I was surprised by her talent of getting you in the mind of the characters and keeping you there for the entire story. I felt every minute of emotion along with Trinity and Shooter. The side characters are just as riveting.
This is not my go to genre but wow.. amazing writing. This was a must read for me. For keeping me reading late into the night, I’m giving 5 stars. Bravo

This book is part of a series. There’s alot of characters and I found it hard to know who was who. Shooter has a big family with siblings and cousins. Even with that, i thought the book was good. It was a sweet second chance romance.
When Trinity was 15 or 16 years old she spent alot of time with Shooter. He was her boyfriend. Even though they were teenagers and only gave each other little pecks here and there but they definitely had strong feelings for eachother. Trinity’s mom told her she needed to cut Shooter loose because he was a distraction. She thought he would understand since they are both focused on their goals. However when she broke up with he, he was heartbroken.
10 years later and he’s back in his hometown just in time for Elk Field’s week long festivities. In the last 10 years Trinity accomplished what she set out to do by becoming Rodeo Royalty but, now she cannot wait to be done with it and start really living and having a boyfriend. Her mom and Kaley keep trying to push her into modeling but she just wants to be able to live a normal life.
When Trinity and Shooter see eachother and have a dance together, it’s clear both of them still care so much for eachother. Will Shooter be able to give her a week longer to be done with all this rodeo stuff and crown a new queen?

This is book 4 of The Predator Series. The books just keep getting better and better! This installment is about Noah and Bijou. Both of these characters have had horrific losses with their spouses and both have a child. Noah moves to the little town and starts a repair business and Bijou runs a rec center that is falling apart. The sparks start when they first lay eyes on each other but both are loyal to their deceased spouses. This is a second chance romance that is brilliant. The characters are fantastic and relatable. This book deserves a 4.8!

This is the 7th book in this series and can be read as a stand alone. It is also one of many that I have read by this author and each time I read one of her books, I am reminded why I like them so much. This book has everything that you could want from a second chance romance stand point. I like the twist where the female is the one that left in pursuit of her dreams. It gives it a little twist that isn’t in most second chance romances. I also, really enjoyed the male character and how he is the one that struggled after the break up. It just took some different perspectives that really made me enjoy the book. It is a quick read and you won’t be able to put it down because of how well it is written. This books showcases the struggle that can happen within families when someone takes an ex back and how outside interference can effect relationships. That said it was amazing. I am looking forward to reading more from this author cause I have yet to be disappointed. Reviewed by: @bbohls

Trinity has been living her dream of a Rodeo Queen but as her term is coming up she is reflective on the opportunities that have passed her by, one in question is Scooter Price. She broke his heart when they broke up, but now seeing him again bringing’s up the old feelings of lost love.
Scooter is a little lost in his career, seeing his old girlfriend Trinity living her best life kind of makes him feel like a failure. When a chance meeting at a dance throws in the feelings he thought he had buried, can he follow what he truly wants or will other people trey to sabotage the relationship.
This is the seventh book in this collection and can be read as a standalone. The book is fast pace and a quick read with all the elements of a second romance that is just brilliant to read.
The chemistry between the main characters is off the page and you have to have a little pull of your heart strings for Scooter as he is so conflicted at times. Trinity character was refreshing to read and although she went after he goals she also felt the pull from Scooter that she may have made a mistake.
The book is a romance novel with all the heartfelt feelings and characters you just fall in love with, can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

She’s My Rhinestone Cowgirl is a sweet second chance romance. Between two characters who were teenage sweethearts before dreams came before feelings. This is their journey back to one another. The author gives the reader exactly what they want. Love, romance, animosity, jealousy and so much more. I’ve read this author plenty of times and I will keep coming back for more just on merit. This book is no different. Part of a series which reads very well as a standalone novel. But I bet when you’re done you will want more. Trinity chose the path she’s on. Local Rodeo Queen, she wanted to represent the state but ended up being runner up. However this life came with sacrifices. Her independence being the biggest one, and Shooter coming in at a close 2nd. He didn’t fight for her then, what makes her think he still wants a chance now. Shooter had his heart broken by Trinity, but guess what he’s back and they are now in the same town. Having yet to cross paths he’s not sure how he will react when they do. She left him for a dream and though he understood it doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt. Does he still want her? Does she still want him? Jump in and see how these two navigate these very questions. How they get past obstacles in their way, even with the help of others. This author isn’t one to let the reader down, so hopefully that gives anyone enough faith to check this story out!

This was a sweet second chance romance. I found this book enjoyable and entertaining. I found Trinity’s character to be refreshing. Trinity had to make a lot of sacrifices for her dreams including Shooter. Years later Shooter is back in town as a Sheriff and Trinity is so close to starting the chapter in her life. The connection between these two is still just as strong as it was before. Will they be able to overcome the past to build a future together? If you want to find out then this is a must read. This book can be read as a standalone. My advice is to read all the books in this series because this author is very talented and I have never been disappointed in anything I have read by her. I look forward to reading more. I recommend this book.

I have had the pleasure of reading several books by Ms. May, but this is the first in this particular series and once again she delivers exactly what I have come to expect from her, a book that I enjoyed.
The childhood sweethearts having lived their lives separately when goals and outside forces pulled them apart end up finding their happily ever after for now.
Shooter is starting his life after college and the Academy and Trinity finally gets to live her life how she wants.
I have added this series to my ever growing TBR list so I can get caught up.

This is the 7th book in the My Cowboy series. This is a contemporary romance sent in the world of rodeo’s pagents and cowboys/cowgirls. This is a second chance romance filled with emotions, heartbreak, moving forward and returning full circle where you started. In this story we are with Trinity and Shooter. They were young sweethearts but when Trinity’s dream of becoming a Rodeo Queen hangs in the balance she has a decision to make. Does she stay with the boy who’s captured her heart or does she leave him to follow her dreams? Trinity’s choice leaves Shooter heartbroken and they both go their seperate ways chasing their own dreams.
Now Trinity returns back to her home after reaching and achieving her goals of becoming Rodeo Queen. When Shooter sees her he can’t help but feel like his life has been a failure after seeing all her success. However as they spend time together all those old feelings resurface. Could this finally be the time for them to get their happy ever after? After Trinity left him heartbroken how will Shooters family react to her being back and wanting to be a part of his life again? And after all of Trinity’s success will the relationship even work with Shooter feeling like a failure against everything she has achieved.
This was a moving second chance romance and I couldn’t help being captivated by their stories. My heart went out to Shooter because not only did he get his heart broken but when Trinity returns he is also left with a lot of self doubt about himself which was a struggle for him to overcome.

Bijou Augustine is a woman who is struggling to keep her life and business together which has become harder each year since she lost the love of her life, but now she is reaching breaking point. As the youth centre she has poured her heart and soul into becomes more of a burden than a blessing, she has to endure the embarrassment of cold calling for donations and suffer the rejection which people dish out without a care for the person on the other end of the phone.
While she is dealing with this, her teenage daughter is full of the joys of puberty including mood swings and arguments, but there are beams of light when she sometimes says the odd nice thing or comes up with a good idea. Fortunately for Bijou, her daughter finally takes some initiative and this helps more than she could ever expect when a phone call comes through with a deep, rumbling voice at the other end who just so happens to also be a repair man.
This one phone call could be the answer to her prayers, especially when she meets this mountain of a man for the first time and is immediately put at ease by his agreement to help out with fixing up the youth centre. The only issue is that he doesn’t want any money for it, this is compounded by the fact that he is the first man that Bijou has even found attractive since her husband passed, but she is awkward and can sense that he is healing too.
Will Bijou be able to save her centre and figure out how she feels about her tall, dark and extremely handsome repair man, all while trying to come up with a plan to save her and her husband’s life’s work? This is a sweet romance with a little spice thrown in where secrets come into light as prayers for the end of struggles are made, all while hope blossoms in this story of finding love after loss.

Bijou is a widow left to raise her daughter alone in a small town after suffering the loss of her husband. His dream was to run a youth center in his town, and Bijou is struggling to continue to receive enough donations in order to keep it open to honor him.
Noah is a widow left to raise his son after his wife was killed by a drunk driver – he ran to the mountains of the same small town to escape the media when they realized who he was and continued to hound him after the death of his wife. He was also a friend of Bijou’s husband, Eli.
As Bijou struggles, she reaches out to Noah out of desperation to see if he can help make a repair in the center due to being Eli’s friend. Noah agrees, and then notices how many other things need repairs while he’s there. The chemistry that is pulling them together like a magnet inspires Noah to offer his time and help to her free of charge, and he can’t seem to make himself stay away from her. As the story progresses, it takes us through many highs and lows as they navigate life as single parents, life as widows, and life as they are brought together to a person who feels so much like their other half.
Fantastic world-building, story-writing, character development…I’m a big fan!

Such an easy and fast read. I highly recommend this book. I was conflicted on whether to praise or be mad at Bijou. She’s doing the best she can with the hand she is dealt. Raising her teenager alone because her spouse has passed away. She is on her own facing all these challenges.

This author is definitely on my list of books to pick up without a second thought as they create some incredible stories. This is the fourth book in The Predator series, and just like the others, it doesn’t disappoint. Bijou was a fantastic character who felt more like a friend than a character in a story. Noah is the perfect book boyfriend! The chemistry between them leaps off the pages, and I found myself fully invested in them immediately. This story will take you on an emotional rollercoaster with twists and turns throughout. I may have shed a few tears here and there, but there is also plenty of romance and spice! If you enjoy contemporary romances with steamy scenes that don’t overtake the plot, this is a great place to start. Although you can read this as a standalone, you will likely circle back to the entire series because you won’t be able to get enough. I can’t wait to see what other must-reads this author has in store for us!

Back in the ring by Brooke May is the 4th book in the Predators Series, and another that I could just NOT put down. Noah and Bijou are the main characters in this story, and gives us an amazing second chance love that will leave you in awe. Both have lost someone so close them and left to raise children alone. Noah moves to Phillips Creek to get away from the media and Bijou has lived in Phillips Creek her whole life. Both feel the spark and months into their relationship the media finds Noah. This brings up so much for Noah but Bijou wants to stand by her man no matter what.
This book truly had to be my favorite in the series so far, I love the single parents coming together after such a loss. Every time I pick up a Brooke May book, I don’t want to put it down. Instantly I am taking in by the characters and the writing style. Well done again!

This is the 4th book in The Predator Series. Once again we are taken on an emotional journey dealing with loss, grief, and learning to love again. This book could be read as a standalone however I thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series. The author has an incredible way of writing characters that the reader can emotionally connect with which makes the stories even more powerful.
In this story we meet Bijou Augustine and Noah. Both of our main character have been dealt blows by losing the love of their lives and now they are learning to rebuild their lives. Bijou was left widowed and looking after her daughter all while trying to run the children’s centre that her late husband started. Time are hard, the centre needs so many repairs and Bijou can’t afford to do them. However she doesn’t want to let go of the last connection to her deceased husband. Since his passing Bijou’s life has revolved around the centre and her daughter, romance has never really played a part of been a thought until she meets Noah.
Noah has moved to the small town hoping for a fresh start. After losing his wife in an accident Noah has shit himself off from the world and pushed people away. However when he goes to do some work at a children’s centre in his new town he can’t deny the attraction towards the owner Bijou. Will he be able to let his walls down and maybe have a second chance at love or will he push her away like everyone else? And how will Bijou react when secrets are revealed will it bring them closer together or push them further apart? Can they work together to save the Children’s centre or will Bijou lose the dream her deceased husband worked so hard for.
This is an emotional story about dealing with loss and fighting for a second chance at happiness.

I like many different kinds of romances and Brooke May writes many different ones. She’s a great, multi talented author. She’s my Rhinestone Cowgirl is a western style l, second chance romance that was a great change of pace from what I’ve been reading. Trinity Redhawk and her dreams of being a rodeo queen had her leaving Shooter in her dust, but after achieving her dreams, and coming back to him can Shooter and his family forgive Trinity? After all if you release it and it comes back, it’s yours, right?
