Ummm…let me just start off with saying that I need Book 2 immediately!! I was hooked from the first page and I could not put this one down! There are characters you love and characters that you will absolutely hate and I’m here for it all. I don’t want to spoil anything but the dynamics between KC and Chamberlain…you’ll need a fan! I’ve read other books by May and this one is similar but different in a way that I’m not entirely sure about but I absolutely love it! I cannot wait to get my hands on Book 2 and see where May is taking us!

This book took me by my heart and kept pulling at it from start to finish. Brooke May has grabbed my attention with Chamberlain “Predator” Lawrence (who is determined to make it as a fighter) and Katherine Carrie “K.C.” who is wanting to become a teacher. She meets Chamberlain in a local rec center where she taught little girls how to dance. They fell for each other but they live different lives. K.C. is the daughter of a Senator. Where as Chamberlain grew up without his parents and is raised by a friend’s parents. Can they make it work or does something or someone stop them? This is a big question and I hope that when you read it you will find the answer. I know that I couldn’t put this book down and I am now reading book 2 of this series. I am just as hooked to find out what happens between K.C. and Chamberlain.

K.C never thought she would see Chamberlain Lawrence again, the man known as The Predator when he is in the ring. Seeing him again is a punch to the gut and it has K.C. remembering the past and how they got to where they are now.
K.C. had her life planned out, not a life she wanted but was expected of her and she hated it. She had a plan to find her own path away from her wealthy political family. Pressure mounts though as she finds herself falling hard for the wrong man, Chamberlain, at least the wrong man in the eyes of her parents. She is ready to give everything up for Chamberlain but is he willing to do the same?
Riveting. I was not sure quite what to expect with this one, but it exceeded my expectations. I felt for K.C. she had such a rigid grin and bear it life and to see her blossom into herself was wonderful. I am so anxious to read the next book, can’t wait.

K.C works as a waitress at The General’s Golden Club with Beth. Since she graduated from college, she has been looking for a job as a teacher. All night long, she has to deal with grabby men in the bar. Her best friend, Beth, begs her to watch the upcoming boxing fights. She agrees, and Beth helps her dress up for the event. K.C becomes nervous when she watches her ex, Chamberlain “The Predator” Lawrence, fight. He wins and turns toward her. Shocked that her nickname is tattooed on his chest, K.C grabs Beth and rushes towards the exit. One of his entourage stops them, saying Chamberlain wishes to speak to her. She refuses and drags Beth into the car, waiting for them. Beth tells her to explain what the heck was going on. K.C shares her past with Chamberlain and what led to her move from Boston to Denver.
I was hooked immediately, as K.C is the black sheep of the family. I completely empathize with her struggles to establish her identity as an individual. The status quo of privileged socialites and power marriages is present in the book. Chamberlain is the guy every girl dreams of as Prince Charming. Despite possessing endearing traits, he also has several flaws, such as severe jealousy and not recognizing that Gwen, his best friend, is a bit too handsy. The character development in this story makes the unpredictable plot breathtaking. Exceptional detail made it easy to envision what was going through K.C’s mind as she told her story. I am eager to read the sequel and fully support a five out of five star rating for this book.

The Predator Part One is the first book in The Predator Series by Brooke May. It is a wonderful contemporary, second chance, sports romance, with lots of emotion, angst, drama, family dynamics, friendship, opposites attract, superb characters, and lots of sizzle. Chamberlain and KC are from two different worlds, but the heart wants what the heart wants, and these two have quite a journey ahead of them. As expected, Ms. May wrung my emotions dry- writing an engaging story that I was invested in right from the get-go. As Chamberlain and KC’s story continues in the next instalment, I have already devoured Book #2, because I needed to know what happened. Now on to Book #3. Highly recommended- especially if you like MMA romances with sizzling chemistry. Happy Reading…

BOOKBUB – The End Of Try Try Again by Kristen Carter, MS
Forget the idea that you have to sign on to a restrictive diet or rigorous exercise plan in order to lose some weight and feel more energetic. Discover how you can choose an acceptable lifestyle that balances desire with health. Find a way that allows YOU to be in control of your choices, and discover solutions that fit into YOUR life.
The End of Try Try Again starts with understanding how we form habits and why they can be so difficult to break. This book explains how our brains and bodies work so that we can work with them, not against them.
The End of Try Try Again shows you why some of our attitudes and beliefs don’t serve us, and gives us access to a whole new way of thinking about diet and exercise.
Trying to follow a prescribed diet or exercise program often leads to resistance and rebellion!
The OLD messages can lead to such thoughts as:
“This diet will help me stay motivated because it will produce quick results.”
“I guess last time I tried, I just wasn’t motivated enough.”
“I have to exercise hard to get the pounds off.”
“Once I get started, I will figure out how far I want to go with this.”
Unfortunately, we can get caught in a loop that doesn’t show us the way out.
Based on extensive research, this book explains why making big changes to how we eat and exercise is complicated. Using the science of motivation, it lays out how to find deep motivation based on personal values, not passing fads. It then presents a clear, inspirational formula that is simple but can lead to life-changing results.
Kristen re-examines the tools we have been using to lead healthier lives by taking a fresh look at some of the challenges we face including, fitness industry standards, gym commercialism, fad marketing pressure, physiological factors, human behavior, fast food culture, and the demands of our modern lifestyles. Kristen is deeply passionate about science, exercise, and nutrition, but her true love lies in learning. With multiple certifications and a graduate degree in Exercise Physiology, she remains dedicated to staying abreast of the latest trends and research. Having spent years in a Physical Therapy Clinic, Kristen gained invaluable insights into the intricacies of human anatomy and rehabilitation post-injury.

Loving the cover art I just want to keep rubbing my hand over it 🙈🤣yes I imagined I could feel those ripped muscles #blushblush# but it’s the prologue that really got me , thank you for being vulnerable and real 🥰📚
Just a little heads up …, it ends in a cliffy and tell your people before you start reading it that life as they know it will be survival of the fittest because you’re not available for the entirety of this read 😉
You can be surrounded by people and still be lonely and I think this was the case with K.C. , bro g the daughter of a politician isn’t easy but her family is really next level awful and they don’t deserve a sweet soul like her and as for Gwen , Amber and Zoey, they’re a waste of space and oxygen , I’m not a mean person but these 2 really are most awful 🤮and I just want to say thank you to dearest Fiona and her nurturing nature towards our girl K.C . you’re a real gem my sweetheart 🤗
K.C. was supposed to marry someone who came from a powerful family but he stood no chance against Chamberlain, I could just drown in those eyes of his so I can’t say I blame K.C. 😍😉and yes hee initial impression of him was so off base because soon enough she’s is lost in him and these 2 are on fire 🔥I actually had a spray bottle of ice water on hand just in case my kindle over heated 🤣
There’s drama in bucket loads ! I laughed , I cried , I got frustrated , I shouted and screamed and I was sooooooo invested in this read ! I can’t wait to devour part 2 ! I’ve got questions and o need to know what happens !

Wow! One intense book that will leave you feeling some big emotions even as a reader. This is one of my favorite authors because of her writing. She writes stories that you can relate to and feel. This is definitely one of those. Rich girl, poor boy. It teaches you to not judge a book by it’s cover. I was in it from the start but couldn’t put it down. Mostly based on flashbacks, this story is emotional, dramatic and romantic. The characters will leave you blindsided. A great read. I can’t wait to get into part 2. What a great book!

Book79/50 was 4⭐️! I really enjoyed the dynamics between Chamberlain and Katie! I also love Scott! However, Gwen knows what she’s doing and she’s got to go!! She infuriates me.
There’s a sequel to the book called, “The Predator Two”, and I’ve already started reading it because Book One leaves the reader with a cliff hanger! I MUST know what is going to happen!!
This book is the perfect combination of what’s going to happen next, rooting for love, but hating the interference, spicy, a bit of a mystery as to what’s going to come, and ‘OMG! she didn’t!’ combined into one book!
I recommend this read, as it’s quick and enjoyable!! I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

Five years ago, I read a book that I fell in love with called Back in the Ring by Brooke May only to find it was the fourth book in The Predator Series. It has taken me all this time to go back to the beginning to where it all began. The Predator is a series of intensely intertwined complex threads woven into a heartbreaking story. Chamberlain is an MMA fighter from the wrong side of the tracks but on his way to becoming something. KC has it all but the one thing she truly wants. Together they could be wonderful, but nothing was ever that easy. Brookes writing skills evokes such strong emotions that will break your heart but will also make you smile at times. Sexy, steamy and sizzling is the added bonus. I was disappointed it ended but am off to read The Predator part 2

I have not read anything by Brooke May before and have to say I loved the book. Not sure where to start with so starting by saying it is a 5-star read. There are so many characters in this book that can be written about. Starting with KC’s family, she felt no love from them at all and knew she was the outsider of the family, the only love she felt at home was from the family cook Fiona. Since her parents had wanted a boy, to continue the family powerful legacy. Unfortunately, their son had passed away, so unfortunately for KC this left that legacy in her hands, this is something she wanted no part of. KC was also expected to marry the boring Timothy who was part of another powerful family, but she was having no part of that either. KC wanted to pick her own partner, much to the disgust of her parents. Running late one afternoon she bumps into Chamberlain. She marvels at his height; how big his muscles were and his beautiful blue eyes that reminded her of the ocean. However, her first impression of Chamberlain was that he was arrogant. That is until he takes her for a meal when she realizes that she has judged him wrong. Moving on she meets Amber and Lizzie both girls are pure evil. Amber wants Chamberlain back, while Lizzie is hell bent on getting Chamberlain’s best friend Scott, in the process of this they make KC’s life hell whenever they bump into her. Then we have Gwen she openly admits that she does not like KC, but the feelings are mutual as KC does not trust Gwen. Personally, I think Gwen is in love with Chamberlain, but will let you make up your own mind on that. Scott comes across as a bit of a player but he as a heart of gold and besides Fiona and Chamberlain he is the only people in her life that treat her properly. That is until she meets her Aunt Jackie and her partner. This is where I am leaving this review and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Can not wait to read Predator Part two.

The Predator Part One was the first book I’ve read by Brooke May, but I can tell you it won’t be my last. The tension was unreal throughout this book especially in the beginning and the characters were great. I was pulled into it from the beginning, it held on to me till the end, and I will absolutely be looking forward to book part two.

This is a new series for this author and what a great start it is! I can’t wait for the second book to come out. I never hesitate to pick up this author’s books. I enjoy her writing style as well as her creative characters that make her stories pop. This is a well written story about a spicy relationship that is put to the test and what happens you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world from the beginning. They are strong, connectable characters that add so much to the story. They kept the story engaging and had me turning pages fast. I enjoyed watching their chemistry and growth throughout the story. I found this book to be fast paced and hard to put down. This is a book you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book.

This author is one I never hesitate to buy from and I think this book is the perfect example as to why. It is a brilliant story. From the moment you start reading you are pulled into the story. So much seems to happen as the storyline develops and it kept the pages turning as I had to know what happened. I loved the characters too. They are probably my favourite park of this book. On paper, they are complete opposites and yet, they someone just work. They connection is believable as soon as they meet and found myself becoming more and more invested in them. I cannot wait to read the next installment of this series.

Such a great book. Not sure why but, I was not expecting to like the book as much as I did. I think I’m obsessed with Katie and Chamberlain. I was absolutely hooked from the very beginning. After the prologue I kept waiting for the big fight or whatever the reason was why they see eachother at a fight and aren’t expecting to see eachother. This book was totally captivating from the prologue and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Katie and Chamberlain. Meet at the rec center and immediately there is chemistry and attraction. They end up dating for a while but there is always something in the way causing problems. Katie’s family, Amber and even Gwen caused problems between them two. I wasn’t expecting that ending but cannot wait to dive into book 2. Great book by a great author.

Anyone could look at Parker Bartin and see a man who has it all. The fame, fortune, and the family to make his world complete.
But Parker’s life is far from perfect.
Where once he was a party boy, drowning himself to due away with the traumas of his past in a completely different way than his sister, Paige, he’s gone off the other deep end so completely he’s just as lost.
Trying and failing at being everything he thinks he needs to be; Parker doesn’t see what is happening right in front of him.
He’s on the verge of losing it all; the amazing career, money to do with what he likes, and a woman to go home to every night. All of it starts to slip right through is fingers, causing him to grab hold of the throttle too tightly.
Will whiskey throttle be all Parker knows for his future or will he let go and find a way to overcome all the odds stacked against him?
It’s either the bottle or help, what will Parker choose?
Brooke May has been a Wyoming girl her entire life, most of it right here in Sheridan where the majority of her family resides. Growing up, she’s always had a wild imagination that came together to publish her first book, a cowboy romance inspired by her home and the rodeos she’s always loved attending.
Now, she continues to write where her imagination takes her with most books inspired by the scenery and beauty that is Sheridan, the Bighorns, and Wyoming. She’s a wife and mother of two and splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and of course, hiking, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in her favorite places in the BigHorns.
The sky isn’t the limit for her and all the stories she still has to share. There’s a little bit of everything for any romance reader; cowboys to fighters, bad boys to soldiers, werewolves to romantic comedies, and even a sweet cupid series for younger readers.

This book was an emotional Rollercoaster that keeps you turning the page. Parker has emotional trauma from childhood that influences the choices he is making now. Realizing he isn’t in a good place after hitting rock bottom, will Parker be able to process and cope with his past before he loses everything that matters to him?

3.5/5 Stars This book is an engaging tale of romance and adventure that keeps you turning pages. The characters are richly developed, and the plot is compelling, making it hard to put down. However, the language and certain triggers caught me off guard at times, which may not be for everyone. Despite these moments, the book’s emotional depth and thrilling storyline make it a solid read. A great pick for those who enjoy a mix of excitement and heartfelt moments.

Whiskey throttle is the final book in the Moto X Series. We finally get Parker’s story! Megan and Parker have been together for a few years now. Parker has tried changing his life for Megan and their daughter, Lindsey. But things haven’t been great between them and he just doesn’t see her and her needs. When Megan takes Lindsey to stay with her parents, Parker tumbles down to rock bottom. Ordered into AA after a drunken arrest, will he be able to accept the help of his new sponsor? Will he be able take responsibility for his actions and look toward the future? I enjoyed Parker’s story; his fall, his despair, his courage, and his eventual healing. The story flowed well for me and made this a quick read even with the heavy topic. I thought it portrayed how much you need a support system and a focus on mental health too. I think you’ll enjoy reading Parker’s story!
I highly recommend reading this series in order. So many story lines are mentioned in this book and I think it could confuse someone who hasn’t had the background of the first few books.

This is the sixth book in this series and can be read as a standalone, but it is my suggestion to start from the beginning. This is Parker’s story and a very emotional one at that. This book had me hooked from the beginning and kept me turning pages throughout the entire book. This story dealt with addiction and consequences that come from not getting help. Parker and his sister had a traumatic upbringing that Parker hasn’t really dealt with. This story takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions as Parker tries not to lose everything and navigate how to deal with his past. I can’t say enough good things about this book. I have read other books by this author and I’m never disappointed. This is a must read that you won’t be able to put down and it will definitely make you want to read the entire series if you haven’t already. I highly recommend this book.

Parker has it all.. or so it seems. He’s a well known motocross rider, he has Megan and their daughter.. but it’s not enough to silence the demons of the past that weigh down on him. When the weight of the past is too heavy, Parker turns to drinking to escape. As the drinking gets worse he pushes those that mean the most to him away and he hits rock bottom and he can lose it all. Can he win his family back and prove he can be the man his daughter needs? This is a beautiful story of fight PTSD, personal growth, and most of all love. I had not read any other stories in this series and I followed along with no issues! It was an emotional story that I would read again and again.

It has been awhile since I picked up a book from this author, but again, she does not disappoint! This is a very emotional book about the heartbreaking journey Parker goes on to find himself after hitting rock bottom and needing to find his way again. This story is an extremely worthwhile read, but will hit pretty hard in some points as the author doesn’t shy away from the darker parts of addiction and despair. You really feel for Parker and the heartache he feels losing his family, but you definitely see why Megan had to take Lindsey and remove them from his self-destruction. The author keeps you engaged with every page and this was a book I couldn’t put down. I plan to go check out the rest of the series and see how things turn out for other characters as well.

Having read and enjoyed the previous books in this series, I had been introduced to Parker Bartin before and I was looking forward to ‘his’ story. To the outside world Parker has a perfect life, fame, fortune and a family. However, his life is far from perfect, his party boy days might be behind him, but the traumas from his past still haunt him. Parker is about to loose it all and must decide between the whiskey bottle or ask for help. This was a heartwarming and at times heartbreaking story which had me captivated throughout. As usual the author does a great job of making both the setting and characters come to life through the descriptive narrative. An enjoyable and engaging read, and I look forward to the next book in this series.

What I love most about this book is that the perspective of what is going on in this particular character’s life is from Parker’s point of view. There is no other point of view involved like these type of books usually are. It does show that not only women go through difficult situations and struggles, it’s also men. Parker does show a lot of character development especially showing the reader how he was (his past) compared to how he is at the end of the novel. The minor characters show a lot of support towards Parker to show that he’s not alone.

I thought this would just be a romance but it’s also about trauma, hitting rock bottom, healing, and redemption. It was a really good story, I enjoyed the descriptions of the characters and the setting. I know it’s part of a series but you don’t need to read the previous books to get what’s happening. The author describes what happened in the previous books with the characters each one was about. I do recommend reading the triggers before starting the book as it talks about addiction, abuse, and some other topics some might not like reading about.

Parker Bartin was at the top of his game partying like there was no tomorrow and women at every turn, that is until he met Megan. With Megan he found someone he connected with and created a beautiful little girl. He went from party boy to khaki dad in an instant, but he was still feeling empty and distant. Parker finds himself at a crossroads which could lead to having it all or destroying it all and Parker will have to look inside himself to see which path he really wants.
I felt for Parker, there is a lot of his history that haunts him and even though he is trying to be the best he can be for Megan and his daughter he is failing in a way he doesn’t quite understand. I thought there was a rawness to this story that kept me wanting to find out what would happen next for Parker. An emotional rollercoaster of a story.
