About C.A. King

I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche.

Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time.

To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger.

People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years.

I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you different.

I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes—I want them to know they are making a difference.

Fast forward to today…

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

At first I picked this book up for 2 reasons – one the cause the book was supporting and, two, the fact that C.A. King had contributed to the anthology. Any book with her name on and I will buy no matter what. It was a bonus that I recognised a couple of the other names too.
I am so glad that those reasons pushed me into reading this collection because I was completely taken in by them. The C.A. King book is definitely up there as my favourite. I always have such an affinity for her work and this book was the perfect example as to why! But the other stories all definitely held their own. I liked that they were all different from each other. The issue with anthologies I tend to find is that the books start to merge into one after a while but that was not the case with this one. They each stood their ground and shone through the rest.
I love the fact that this collection is for such a worthy cause as well. For me, it gave such an emotional edge while reading it and I was drawn in all the more. This is a fantastic collection of stories and I would urge everyone to buy it today.

This book is an anthology that contains many stories by different authors. It isn’t my cup of tea usually. However, the fact that this was written specifically for the Ukraine and address the themes of survival and hope, I was able to give it a chance. You will find stories about persecution, loss, struggles. The endings of each show the positive outcomes. I could outline each story contained in this book, but will just choose a couple that I enjoyed.
1. Artem Dimitri and Elina (Saving His Own) – Artem left he Ukraine to study in America. Elina was not happy with the decision. When he returns, he is at the same hospital as her. It is a love story in the making!
2. (Happy Hour) – Mari is a middle school counselor just returned from a cancer diagnosis and treatment. The person hired, Mitch, to take over while she was gone, was hired to stay on as a second counselor. Mari finds Mitch very attractive. Is it appropriate that they act on their sparks? Will it cause issues or be happily ever after?
3. (The Shimmer) – Blindsided by the ex that packs up and leaves, Grace wonders what she did wrong to turn her husband away and moves back in with her parents. Two years later, she is still living there and learning to find a new view on life. How can she live in the moment and enjoy life’s simple pleasures? It is at this moment that her best friend made in elementary school walks into her life. Sawyer. Tragedy strikes – and Grace’s life is turned upside down again. Will Sawyer be there for her? Will it be enough to heal her heart or will her heart be broken again?

Together We Stand
5*

This anthology is put together to help raise money for Ukraine. I have read many of the books. One thing I truly loved about this anthology is that it has something for everyone. Also, it introduced me to authors I haven’t heard of. I want to spotlight my two favorite stories in this anthology.
Clara’s Story Part Two by C.A. King was possibly my favorite story. It is very relatable as it tells the story of a mother who wants the best for her child, but her paranoia definitely gets in the way. She is well intentioned but this story is definitely a tear jerker. This story was full of endearing characters and I really truly enjoyed it.
Rock Star Lawyer by: Rose Bak was another amazing story. This one is a romance that takes on opposites attracting. What I love more about this is that it talks about a rockstar who puts on a concert to help the people of Ukraine. I love how timely this story is and that it gets to the heart of the reason the anthology was put together.
I cannot recommend this enough, especially since it is a great way to get multiple books by many authors.

Together We Stand, Vol. 2 is a charity Anthology where all proceeds from the sales of this book will be donated to organizations providing relief to Ukraine. This is a collaboration by 19 talented authors who have each contributed a story- each one unique and individual to the author, but each using the same inspiration to create their tales- with the theme being survivor stories.
I enjoyed each author’s contribution, they were individual, while also complimenting each another, as well as the collection as a whole. This anthology has so many different takes on the theme- bringing us romance, women’s fiction, second chances, drama, danger, fantasy, mystery, adventure, myth, heartache, love, loss, hope, new beginnings, steam, the paranormal, emotion, tension, M/F, M/M, or F/F, and much more.
Some of the authors I am familiar with, while others are new to me, which is a real win-win situation for me as I knew I would love the stories from the authors whose work I am already familiar with, but it was also exciting to explore new horizons in the works of the other authors who are ‘new-to-me’, giving me the opportunity to get a taste of what they are capable of and the opportunity to find new authors to add to my TBR list.

The anthology contains:

Hidden Treasures By: M.A. Abraham
This is an intriguing fantasy with interesting characters who show strength in the face of adversity, and finding where you belong.

The Unknown Kings By: Skye Purington
This is a wonderful time travel romance and is the prelude to the new branch in the MacLomain saga- the new “Irish Roots” series. With magic, adventure, drama, heartache, prophecy, and good vs evil- this story has definitely whet my appetite for the rest of the MacLomain series.

After the Rein By: J.A. Lafrance
Rein Brooks life has been quite difficult, leaving her feeling lost and alone. Paddy Nickels might be the one person who is willing to have her back. Heartache, loss, connection, emotion, and finding love unexpectedly. A great addition to the collection.

Rock Star Lawyer (An Oliver Boys Rockstar Romance) By: Rose Bak
This is all about opposites attracting. Two hearts from different worlds find they have more in common than expected. A former Rockstar turned lawyer teams up with the daughter of refugees to organise a charity concert to raise money to support the Ukraine. With romance, steam, secrets, banter, drama, emotion, meddling family/family dynamics, secrets, and finding love unexpectedly made for a great read.

Clara’s Story: Part Two By: C.A. King
One of my favourites of the Anthology. This continues Clara’s story, bringing a character piece full of drama, angst, anxiety, doubts, and overcoming challenges. As expected from this talented author, the story was well-written, interesting, and emotional- made me feel for the character/s and invest in Clara’s Story. Well done.

Finding Fate (An Inspire Me Short Story) By: Crystal St. Clair
This is an emotional read. With a cancer diagnosis/battle, friendship, love, bonds, connection, determination, life, and some drama- made this a very connectable, relatable, believable, and inspiring read.

Teeth Are Bones (Blood & Ancient Scrolls Series) By: Raven Belasco
A paranormal fantasy with vampires, love, loss, history, drama, and more. The author has crafted a wonderfully original, well-researched story that incorporates clever, fictional world-building surrounding historical facts. Intriguing!

A Wife From the Homefront By: Jordan Leger
This is a short story that incorporates a lot of characters in such a short space. This is a military romance about military spouses and what it takes to watch your loved one be deployed. A story of emotion, tension, love, loneliness, and drama- with a dose of spice. It feels like it could be the prequel to a new series.

Surviving the Blast By: A.M Cosgrove
This is a very short story that packs quite a lot in such a small space. A military tale with action, adventure, a mission gone wrong, drama, and intrigue. Bo latest mission doesn’t feel right- and soon things don’t go according to plan. What happens makes for a bit of a gripping read.

Happy Hour By: C.L Collier
This contemporary romance is set in the “Discovering Us” series world- with recurring characters that bring some drama and emotion. Mari has just returned to work after a cancer battle and isn’t quite prepared for her attraction to her hunky new co-worker. What happens makes for a sweet read.

Headliner (Sometimes #1) By” A.L. Morrow
This is a short, standalone, M/M Rockstar romance- an enemies to lovers story about finding love unexpectedly. A sweet and steamy read.

Ensnared By: Emery LeeAnn & Zorha Redwolf Edwards
This is a M/M romance story. What would you be willing to do to find justice for your loved one? This is a father’s quest for justice and the cost involved. A darker story with triggers, love, loss, grief, redemption, challenges, and hope.

The Shimmer By: Tricia Daniels
“Ancient Natives believe that a hummingbird crossing your path means you’re on a journey, and by the end of your journey, you will develop the strength and courage to endure”… This is a contemporary second chance romance with challenges, change, emotion, drama, messages, family, past history, and interesting characters. A story with a message- “live in the moment and enjoy life’s simple pleasures”…

From Flames By: A.N. Waugh
This is a short insta-love, M/M firefighter romance about two broken souls and one fated rescue. With drama and some darker themes which made for an intriguing read.

Saving His Own By: Pandora Snow
A medical, second chance romance with emotion, challenges, drama, the weight of expectation, compromise, and sizzle. Will Artem and Elina get their second chance on love? Well worth the read to find out.

Twisted By: T.L. Mayhew
A sweet, steamy, western, small town, contemporary romance with enough chemistry, emotion, and drama to keep things interesting.

War Queen By: K.L. Fast & M.K. Moore
Cash has loved his Queen from the moment he met her. But Queen Renatta has a duty to her people. Can love overcome duty, responsibility, war, and challenges and find a way to bring these two together? A steamy romance with angst, drama, and sizzling chemistry. A very quick, easy, and engrossing read.

If you are looking for something a little different, has emotion, and has something that is sure to please everyone- then look no further, this is the book for you. Seventeen books for the price of one, now that’s a win-win situation for sure. Plus, your purchase will also support a very deserving cause. So, go ahead and grab yourself a copy, you are sure to enjoy it as much as I have!
Something here for everyone!
Happy Reading!

I loved this anthology. So many different authors with different writing styles and different stories to tell in one place. Two of my favorites were Clara’s story part 2 by C.A. King and Headliner by A.L. Morrow.

Clara’s story part 2 was bittersweet. Clara suffered so much tragedy in her life. She still kept a smile on her face and an open heart. My heart broke for her when her daughter was hurt. That accident affected her whole life including her marriage. By the end of this short story Clara found peace and happiness.

Headliner was pretty good as well. Heartbroken Jet is trying to save his career by working with Skye the Grammy winning song writer who unbeknownst to Jet is also trying to heal a broken heart. Sparks fly, great music is made, and maybe some hearts start healing. This is a MM romance. With lots of steam.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Together We Stand Vol. 2: A Charity Anthology for Ukraine is a collection of 18+ stories by various authors. Some are USA Today Bestsellers while others are new authors. I picked this up because I saw several authors I have read before and it has the added bonus of giving to charity to help those in Ukraine. I have only just started in on this book but have gotten a couple of the stories read. Each I have read is a wonderful story and I enjoy that each story is unique.
The first story I read is Clara’s Story by C.A. King. I have enjoyed many of her books and looked forward to digging into this story. The story is a quick read but definitely throws an emotional punch. How does a family, and especially the mother move on after a tragic accident? The characters were relatable which helped make this story so emotional.
The second story I read was Hidden Treasures by M.A. Abraham. This story is completely different from King’s. The story follows the Drakaina girls, protected by the Drakes. Every summer they go to private schooling that prepares them for living successfully in a world of humans and dragons. I really enjoyed the fantastical elements of this story and how the Drakes were explained. There was a lot of information for a shorter story but didn’t feel bogged down. I also enjoyed all of the characters and their interactions. This was a new author to me but I will look for more to read by them.

This charity anthology is not only for a good cause, but it’s full of wonderful stories, all of which are well worth a read. I literally ‘binge read’ this book and thoroughly enjoyed each story, although, the anthology as a whole definitely took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Each story is by a different author and each one is a different genre, so there is a story for everyone! The authors have written tales covering everything from horror and persecution, to loss, and unfair struggles, which all lead to either new lives, new perspectives, or new romances.

Having read all of the entertaining, enjoyable and engaging stories, it’s hard to pick out just one or two. However, C.A. King’s, story ‘ Clara’s Story’, did stand out, following a tragic accident, a mother has to come to terms with the aftermath, and the life changing effects it’s had on her daughter. The mother also gets a second chance at love. The plot had me hooked from the start and I felt engaged with the characters, and immersed in their world. I found the storyline both heartwarming and at times heartbreaking, and although it’s a fairly short story the characters stayed with me. ‘A Wife from the Homefront’, by, Jordan Leger, also stood out for me, the story focuses on a husband and wife, separated when the husband is deployed. In this story the wife is having to manage at home with their young daughter. The storyline is about having a spouse in the military and the sense of loss and loneliness that they can feel, and of course worry for the one deployed. The plot also shows how the other spouses all support one another, and how with a bit of imagination the couples can still have intimate moments even when they are apart, which does lead to some steamy scenes.

The underlying theme in this anthology for Ukraine, is survival and survivors. Each story has a very well deserved HEA, and I was left with a sense of hope, inspiration and positivity for the future at the end of the anthology.

I was asked to review two stories from this wonderful anthology.

Hidden Treasures by M.A. Abraham:
A hidden treasure in this anthology, I found this story to be intriguing. Female Drakaina have been shipped to a secluded island for most of their young life to be trained in how to hide among the general population. Nonie, the main teacher, is an elderly Drakaina, wise and astute. She has several centuries of wisdom to share. I found the characters to be perfect role models of strong women. The 3 leading girls, daughters of Trank and Titiana Livingston, are strong and courageous, courtesy of their grandmother, Nonnie. They, along with the other girls, spend many years training, questioning and coming up with methods to help solve their own challenges on protecting other females from Drakes and Dragon Hunters. This is a fantastic story: strength, courage, overcoming adversity.

Clara’s Story by CA King:
This story is both a heartbreaking and beautiful story of survival. Clara experiences something no parent should ever experience. Her daughter is in a devastating accident and is the only survivor. The injuries will change Clara’s life and marriage forever. The story is well-written and developed because you can feel the powerful emotions in the story. Clara, her husband, and the doctor are all characters that are very relatable to. The plot line of the story goes with a glitch. The only thing I would fix is to have part 1. I did feel like I was missing the beginning of the story. However, as Part 2, this story will both rip your heart out and make you smile with happy tears. It’s beautiful and the author did a fantastic job.

I cannot say anything but amazing things about these assortment of stories! Each one had its own way of being what it was, and each was mesmerizing in its own shape or form. I enjoyed reading these, and the feeling that came with me as I read!

I especially felt triumphant with reading C.A King’s story in this assortment of stories! I loved the feelings I read as I read. It was deep and emotional, but the triumph it had, was very uplifting. It makes you feel hope, as we do in life even when life is at its darkest. This story really spoke to me for all that it possessed. A well wroth read! It was one that stuck with me!

The others were amazing as well. I read them all, each one though different, had a magical spell about them on what they possessed. Beautiful in every which way! Loved these stories!
Amazing collection of stories! Very much a well worth reading! Highly recommend this must read!

**May contain MM/FF and/or triggering situations**

I love anthologies. Each story just unique and interesting and as good as the others. I got to read stories from some new authors as well as some favourites. New worlds and characters and tropes; there is something for everyone.

I enjoyed each and every one of the stories but C.A. King’s story is one that really stood out to me – Clara’s Story Part 2.

Find Clara’s Story Part 1 in Love is Eternal: A Charity Anthology for Ukraine.

Even though it is short I was totally entrenched in Clara’s Story. C.A. weaves worlds take you away and you feel like you are in it with them every step of the way.

This is another great read by CA and one that should not be missed.

Another story that I felt in my heart was From Flames by A. N. Waugh. AN is a new author to me and I really liked this story. I look forward to checking out more of their work.

This heartfelt story is a MM tale where our characters are left with scars from the past but find their way to each other.

I won’t share details with you as you need to grab a copy today to support an amazing cause.

This anthology has such an amazing collection of stories, and they all attracted my attention for different reasons. A couple that stood out for me were Clara’s Story Part 2 by C.A. King and Twisted by TL Mayhew. I highly recommend both of these authors! They were able to include so much depth in such a short read.

Clara’s Story Part 2
I felt my pulse racing as I read through Clara’s Story Part 2. I’m a mom which means anything to do with kid’s misadventures instantly has me panicking and/or crying. Clara is trying to do everything she can as a mom to steer her daughter, Kirsten, down the right path but her paranoia sometimes gets in the way. Or does it? I felt this story while tragic, ended with such hope that gave me happy tears.

Twisted
This was a dark romance novel with some steamy scenes that made my jaw drop! Jerrod is obsessed with a woman he can’t have until he sees Austin, who happens to be his obsession’s best friend. Austin is in town dealing with the death of her father, but Jerrod is going to help her navigate through those emotions. I loved the chemistry with everyone involved and the raw emotion had my heart in a vice.

About C.A.

Sashimi (Evil Sushi Book 2) by C.A. King – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

Sashimi (Evil Sushi #2)Sashimi by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The town of Treacle is the centre of attention again, but this time for a completely different reason, it has become a ghost town, there is nobody living there anymore thanks to the mutants prowling the shoreline. The mutants which are attacking anyone they see, whose victims screams you can hear, but who are never seen again and the worst part is that the virus mutating them is now heading inland.

The only ones brave enough to stay in Treacle now are the researchers based there, they are desperately trying to find a cure for those affected, but the only thing they are sure of is that some mutations are worse than others.

As cases increase and people keep disappearing, something has to give and so a radical decision is made and a plan is put into place to try and find the answers humanity so desperately needs. So a General and his team set out to do just that, however their reigning theory of terrorism is not one that the rest of the crew share, they believe that it is Mother Nature who is behind it all.

As the team encounter issue after issue, will they be able to find their answers, or will the decision they made be the wrong one? This is a horrifying tale with plenty of adventure throughout, as time runs out for the human population and the mutants which feed upon them, keeping you enthralled hook, line and sinker.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book offers a very unique take on a dystopian earth and is an excellent start to a multi-book series.

At times I did feel that some things were rushed and sometimes gaps in the chapters but overall this is a quick and easy read.

This Author is very creative and you can tell by reading their books that they put a LOT of care and effort into their writing.

I will definitely be getting the next books to see how this “tail” ends!

I liked this book way better than I thought I would. The beginning was a tad slow. But it definitely set up the background information for what turned out to be quite a read. I didn’t realize I had read the entire book until it said “The End”. The characters were well developed. The author did a great job reinforcing the small town feel. Evil sushi gives me syfy television vibe. Like on the level of sharknado. Entertaining but really out there. I also was concerned how zombie sushi would come in to play but the creativeness of the “zombies” surpasses what I imagined. I cannot wait to read book 2. Hopefully we get a few more answers. Book 1 left me needing more. Do your self a favor and read this book!

This book was a fun and amazing read. My imagination was stimulated word by word with vivid descriptions and all the character interaction. A story very much outside the box and immensely engaging. I started the books out of order so I read book 2 first and then moved to book 1, and that is where I gained a great deal of insight.. This is story that is relatable and has a pandemic type feel. There is angst, drama, deception, mystery, deceit, intrigue, and a twist at every turn. It starts with 2 fisherman who unleash a worldly nightmare and the story begins from there. It will truly keep you on your toes and have you guessing.

With a name like Evil Sushi, I wasn’t sure exactly what I was getting myself into when I started reading this book, but I was wonderfully surprised to discover this thrilling tale was just what the title suggested: something terrifying yet playful. When reading this book, I discovered that this book touches on a lot of different things that I was thinking about over the last few years. I’m sure we’ve all thought about the effect our choice in diet has on the environment, even in passing, and that’s why this tale gave me chills. The classic horror nowadays centers around the impossible: zombies. But what if that terror came from the sea? What if our future looked just a little more like the apocalypse with sea life? Just a little on the joking side, but wonderfully serious at the same time, this book will have you gripping the edge of your seat and expectantly waiting for the next in the series!

This author is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I have read several of their books and so far I have yet to be disappointed. This novel however was not quite what I expected, the cover and synopsis prepare you for the unexpected but I was not prepared for all the twists and turns that this book had to offer. This thriller has so many unexpected twists in turns that you’ll be checking your closet before bed. The characters were amazing, and the plot is original and fantastic. So if your looking for a great new series then make sure you pick this one up today.

Sashimi (Evil Sushi Book 2) by C.A. King – Review by Erin Wolf

Sashimi (Evil Sushi #2)Sashimi by C.A. King
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The premise of this series is very original. This book picks up where the first one leaves off, dropping us in a dystopian atmosphere, where things are quickly falling apart. The originality of the overall story, as well as essentially relying on fisherman to save the day, makes this book interesting. As with most end of the world type stories, the government does not want to believe in the supernatural, they just want to conquer. But the refreshing part of this book are the ones who do believe and definitely want to do the right thing.

This is a book where you definitely have to read book one before you start this book. I have read many books between reading book one and two, and I personally would have liked more of a recap of what happened previously. I was a bit lost throughout the story, not remembering exactly what previously happened. Besides that, this was a unique, interesting book that is unlike any I have read before.

Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi #1)Evil Sushi by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was not expecting this book to ring so true! The tale of what happens when human greed, misinformation, and ignorance all compile together to bring humanity to the brink of starvation and poverty! Or, is it a story of what our realities will become soon if we don’t focus on the larger picture? DUN DUN DUNNNN. In all seriousness, it is a creative take on a far fetched future based on realistic issues. Brought on by a theory that certain foods were to blame for causing damage to the globe, the over indulgency of another food has turned the world desolate. As it goes, large corporations took a once lucrative past time and monopolized it. Small time farmers make a discovery that has the potential to change this, or will it? Evil Sushi keeps you guessing. An enjoyable read that really makes you reflect on the state of our current world. It is at once entertaining, and a little sad. I am definitely intrigued to see where the story goes next.

I really enjoyed this book however through no fault of anyone but my own, I did not realize that this was book 2 in the Evil Sushi series. I felt a little lost but was definitely able to still enjoy due to it being such a well written book. If you are looking for a thrill and suspense this is a great book that will deliver! It gave me strong Siren tv show vibes in one sense and I just really was into it as much as I could be! I am going to be reading the first because that way as I continue I will feel as though I’ve got the whole story down! A first for me from this author but clearly not my last! Very fun read!

Within the last five years, global warming and the decline of the environment have made people rethink the way they eat. Fish is the new hot commodity and Treacle is a perfect town to be a fisherman, until over-fishing and big corporations leave little to nothing left. Rod, a local fisherman with a knack for tinkering enlists the help of his friend Ned to go test out his newest gadgets. What they find in the murky depths shocks them, but what they think could be the end of world hunger might just be the start of a new source of food on the menu, us…..
This book was really fun to read with such a unique concept. The characters were really engaging and relatable and it made me want to find out what happens to them. What stuck with me the most is the things we do to our environment and what would happen when we take more than the earth can give back. I recommend this book to anyone looking for something fresh and exciting that will give you an adrenaline rush!

Sashimi is the follow-up of Evil Sushi, and picks up right where book one left off, so you will want to make sure you read that first! That being said, I enjoyed this one much more than the first one. I feel like the author and characters both evolved and improved in this book and I read it cover to cover in one sitting. I was intrigued with how much was going on, but not overpowering each other. You have some danger aspects, environmental issues, secrets, and mystery shrouded amidst a “pandemic” type situation. Evil Sushi had me interested, but not fully in love with this series, but Sashimi changed my mind fully, and I am completely onboard. This is definitely a series unlike any other, and worth the time to read it. I think this series will be interesting to people from all different genres and there is something for everyone. I will definitely be looking to read book 3, Wasabi

This is nothing like you have ever read…unless you have read a book about evil fish. Local Fishermen, Rod and Ned, thinks they have stumbled upon a new species, but soon find out maybe that isn’t ALL that they have found. Just in case you are wondering, this is not about zombie fish, that would just be silly, wouldn’t it? I enjoyed this one as the unique paranormal read that it was. I wouldn’t put it down as the BEST book I have read but it is far from the worst. I appreciated the down to earth, easy to follow characters and relatable aspects of “what COULD happen if….” This will easily appeal to quite a few people from different genres and was worth the time. I will also be reading the next one (Sashimi) so that should tell you it isn’t awful. If you are interested in unique and intriguing paranormal aspects, but not like anything else you have read, give this a try.

I jumped right in to see how Sashimi, the second book in the series, continues the story that started in Evil Sushi and I wasn’t disappointed! The author does a wonderful job with the characters and scenes, so that I am easily able to connect with them, understand what they’re thinking, and I quickly get hooked into the story again! I liked seeing the relationship between Rod and Sally develop and see the characters grow. The story moves along at a good pace, has some danger, issues with the environment, mutants, and so much more. Sashimi really has multiple aspects that I think many readers would enjoy.

Very edge of your seat kind of book. I think this one came together better than the first story. The author did a good job of making the character more complex this time. The story definitely builds on from the first book and it left me wanting more, so I’ll be looking for the next book.
