Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3)Hitting The High Note by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have really been enjoying these Four Horsemen Novels from CA King! I thought she had hit the highest note and written my favorite with book two but boom nope this book Hitting The High Note totally knocked my socks off and went for the favorite of the series. I love how CA King writes so vividly that I feel as if I am right there submerged in this alternate reality with the characters. I immensely enjoy the way she weaves the story lines of multiple characters from book to book while focusing on a separate couple in each.

In Hitting The High Note we get the story of another horsemen. Uriel, or more often called Uri. He is the fun one of the siblings and keeps things fun and lighthearted pretty much all the time, even in the worst of them. I found myself having a smile or giggle several times because of him. He is about to have his world shook though with a sassy and feisty redhead, Bekka, walks into his life and challenges his not so serious outlook on life. These two will keep you on your toes as they learn to love each other while they battle unseen twists and turns. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book!

Another fantastic installment from King! The backstory and subsequent world building in this series is riveting, well detailed, and beautifully written. I found the characters immediately relatable. Something about Uriel just resonated with me unexpectedly. Anyway, I continue to thoroughly enjoy this series and this latest addition was a welcomed read. Highly recommend!

Drawing Strength From Words (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 2) by C. A. King. Once again the author takes readers on quite the adventure. I holy recommend reading these in order as the story continues. While this is one the shorter side it doesn’t hinder the storyline being told. I found myself on pins and needles more than once anxious to see what was going to happen. This author draws you in and you just want to stay a while. I was definitely sad when I was finished and can’t wait for more. The characters are complex and written so well. The storyline is well paced nicely. I’m so excited to see where we are taken next! Four stars and highly recommended!

Drawing Strength From Words (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 2) by C.A. King was an excellent addition to this series. I love how King begins with the history of the Four Horsemen that is also seen at the beginning of book 1. This helps make this book an easy novel to read out of order in the series. This novel focuses on Gabrielle and Ryder. I loved seeing the characters from book one present in this novel though. Kong does an excellent job with the development of the story and also with the characters. It is filled with action and excitement. The story seemed to move easily and quickly. This was an excellent read and I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars

Hitting the high note is the fourth book in the Four Horsemen series written by C.A. King is not the first book that I have read by this author. Her writing is unique and realistic that I couldn’t put this book down that I read it in one sitting especially with all the twist and turns. We meet the four horsemen: Michael, Gabrielle, Uriel and Raphael
Now we get to see what Uriel is made of his task is to protect everyone from the gates of Hell opening. For centuries their job has been to guard the gates of hell, making sure they never open. Without the keys, there was never any real threat. That’s about to change. There are rumors on the horizon that demon followers unearthed scrolls that explain exactly how to find the lost keys. This new battle is a race to see which side locates them first.
Bekka wasn’t nice to Uriel when they met, she is a woman that loves music. However, she doesn’t socialize very well. Since meeting Uriel, she met another gentleman and now her life is turned upside down.
Can Uriel save Bekka? Will Bekka and Uriel make the right decisions? Will he be-able to stop the gates of hell being opened? Will they have a happily ever-after?
I highly recommend this amazing book/series but, please read all books in order…

Hitting the High Note by C.A. King is the third book in A Four Horsemen Novel series. I recommend reading the series in order because the books do build onto one another. Uriel, a modern day cowboy, steps in to help make sure the keys to unseal hell are not found. Bekka runs into the man of her dreams, or is he? Her decisions can change the world as we know it. I have enjoyed this series immensely and this did not disappoint. I always enjoy a book by C.A. King but this is my favorite series so far. The characters are wonderful, there are twists and turns, and enough going on to keep me on the edge of my seat.

C.A. King has done it again. After reading Book #1 I couldn’t wait to see where the story would take us in this one, but one thing that never changes is every time I read one of C.A. King’s books I get totally captivated and thrown into a world that you don’t wanna leave. The writing style that flows from chapter to chapter, it is mentally visual and written with some incredible characters. You are given twists and turns along the way that keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more. It’s full of action and adventure and romance. For this being a shorter read, it wasn’t lacking in anything. It is a book and series not to be missed, I highly recommend this book.

“The guardians of the four gates remained faithful to their cause through the ages – seeking out and destroying demons trying to free their forefather from the confines of the hell he had been sentenced to live in. Thousands of years later, a new threat appeared on the horizon…”

Well played, Ms. King. Well played indeed! I definitely didn’t see those twists coming. Sneaky and oh so clever!! My anticipation level is set on HIGH for what the next book will reveal.
Hitting the High Note is A Four Horsemen Novel (Book 3) by C.A King. I have seriously loved all Ms. King’s books- but there is just something about this series which has really captured my imagination. I love where it is leading, and the twist/s in this book had my mind reeling with possibilities and leaping to conclusions. I love the bridging story which spans the entire series, as well as each ‘individual couples’ story- there is so much going on, in a great way- and Ms. King orchestrates everything incredibly well. As with the other two books, this story drew me in and I soon lost all sense of time and place, as I was plunged into a fantastic adventure.
This series is Ms. King’s take/twist on the four horsemen legend- and what she has produced is a wonderfully imaginative urban fantasy that has action, adventure, demigods, demons, good vs evil, mystery, suspense, drama, danger, scheming, jealousy, hidden agendas, set-ups, truth, brotherhood, camaraderie, humour, and a sweet romance.
Uriel (Uri) is one of the 4 horsemen of legend, who we discovered back in book one, are real- and along with his 2 brothers and 1 sister, have been tasked with guarding the gates to hell. Uri is the joker of the group, always quick with the funny quips and banter. But there is much more to him than the goofy cowboy he comes across as- as we soon discover in this book. When his ‘investigation, places him in the path of a feisty red head, he thinks she’s antagonistic and rude.
Bekka is a talented musician, with performance anxiety. She yearns to be brave enough to one day play in an orchestra, but in the meantime, she spends her days running her music supply store, which has been in her family for generations. There have been a spate of break and enters in the neighbourhood recently which has her concerned- she may wish for a little more excitement, but not that type of excitement. When she comes across Uriel in the neighbourhood, their encounter doesn’t end well, thanks to her social awkwardness and his protective nature. She thinks he’s overbearing and egotistical. So, what happens when danger comes calling and secrets are revealed? Things definitely aren’t what they seem in this captivating story. The few twists certainly had me sitting up and taking notice. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in “When the Paint Dries”. Bring on Book 4!!!!
Fantastic!!!

Thank you, Ms. King!

I have seriously fallen in love with the writings of CA King this last year. So much so, that I have started to share some of her work with my tween daughter so that I have someone to discuss these awesome books and the worlds that are brought to life within them. Evil Sushi is one of those books that makes a dystopian world terrifying. I loved this book! As per King’s typical, she has created a world where the environment begins to fight back. I love that just as you think to know what to expect things become very multidimensional and adds twists and turns that one could never have predicted.

I won’t give you much more details other than what is already divulged in the blurb and my own thoughts on the book because I just couldn’t bear to ruin this story. I will say that this book will lead us directly to a second book, Sashimi! I will be anxiously awaiting it to see what will come next. I am sure that I will love it too! In the meantime go grab Evil Sushi and dig in today! Its one you don’t want to miss!

Evil Sushi is the first book in the Evil Sushi series. The ending leaves it open for the next book.

I loved the creativity of this story. This book encompasses several genres which makes for an entertaining read. I wasn’t sure what to expect because the blurb was a bit vague, but the intrigue of it all kept me reading. I finished the book in just a few hours because I couldn’t put it down.

I will say that I had a challenge liking the Sally character. I’m not sure what it was about her that gave me difficulty, but it didn’t affect the overall story enough for me to stop reading.

I’m definitely looking forward to the second book!!!!

5-Stars

Flower Shields (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 1) by C.A. King is an excellent fantasy romance novel. Easily worth its 5-stars. Tara and Michael are the main characters. Tara is somehow mixed up in a scenario involving a key. Michael is looking for it as well but to keep it from landing in the hands of demons. Tara is attacked by demons and is whisked away by Michael. That is when things really go crazy.

This story was easy to follow and fun to read. I loved the development and plot twist. The characters were very creative and the backstory was exciting. It was a different fictional beginning for all life. I really enjoyed this novel and hope other readers will too.

If you love C. A. King books, you do not want to miss Evil Sushi. One thing I love about C. A. King is the fact that she grabs my attention at the very beginning of the story and she holds it until the very end. Ms. King’s characters are engaging and realistic like they are apart of my circle of friends, Her attention to detail is amazing. I feel like I am right there with the characters throughout the book. Evil Sushi is no exception. As the author left this at the end of her synopsis, “Is Evil Sushi fiction, the ramblings of a lunatic, or a prophecy as to what may come to pass? Flower Shields by C. A. King is an interesting introduction. Our heroine in this story, Tara, seems destined for anonymity. Such a plain mousey young lady doesn’t seem to make for an interesting tale. But in all good stories there is always more than meets the eye. Someone finds her very interesting. By the time our hero arrives on the scene I was quite caught up in the story. The introduction, Flower Shields, to The Four Horseman novels has been intriguing to say the least. I am certainly on board for the next one.

Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi Series Book 1) by C.A. King was a thrilling read that had me hooked.

Not my first read by this author, so I was excited to see this little wonder appear. The cover captured my attention (as does all the covers for this author) and once I read the synopsis, I was hooked, line and sinker.

As I am a fan of horror, and fantasy, this was a pleasant mix that really kept me reading. The detail was to shelf as per-normal with this author, and the story telling alluring. This book takes you into a darkness that has a bit of realism to it, making this read all the more heart pounding. The tone and flow matched and helped with keeping you not only engaged but on the edge of your seat.

Original and fresh this book is a must read, so please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will not beadle to put this book down, or look at certain things we eat, the same way again.

Happy Reading

The story Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C.A. King is a paranormal/fantasy book. It is a story that will find you turning pages to find out what happens next. I enjoyed reading about the character of Uriel. He is one of the four horsemen. He wears a cowboy hat and doesn’t back down when conflict occurs. Bekka is a woman that loves music. She, however, doesn’t socialize very well. She wasn’t exactly nice when she met Uriel. She then meets a gentleman. Her meeting with both of them turns her world upside down. Will Uriel be able to help Bekka? Bekka has a choice to make. One that can change lives. Read this book to find out the full story of Uriel and Bekka. This book has action and danger. The story is written in such a way that I felt like I was right there with the characters. I also enjoyed that reading about the additional characters in the story. Some of them have been brought forward from the first two stories so they are familiar. Don’t miss out on a book that will take you on a journey that is exciting and intriguing. I highly recommend reading it.

This is my first book by C.A. King and while fantasy is not my go to genre, this was a pretty good story. It does not have a happy ending but instead it ends making you want to know what is going to happen. I look forward to book 2 and checking out other stories by this author.

The plot of this story is different and interesting. Losing all the fish in the ocean is believable, sad but still believable…the part of Evil Sushi, however not so much. The characters seem to be down on their luck thanks to big companies and government taking over everything. I look forward to seeing if the tables turn in the next book.

Fans of fantasy will sure to enjoy this story.

For me, Evil Sushi was almost a commentary on what life on earth could be like if we continue on our current path, minus the murderous sea monster of course. I have a bookshelf in my “library” (my husband calls it my hideout) that is dedicated to paperbacks written by this author. I love her books and and often wonder how her imagination comes up with some of the stories.

EVIL SUSHI is the first book in a new series. It has a very interesting premise, one which has very real aspects to it (over fishing and corporate greed, climate change, weird fish) and some fantastical aspects also (oh please let them be fantasy and not reality). This is a very detailed read that I could visualize while I was reading along. There is great character development and world building along with so many other elements that I could go on and on but I don’t like to “recap” the entire book.

I will say that this is one of my favorite books (WHEN LEAVES FALL being my absolute favorite) that I have read by this author.

I absolutely recommend this story!
I look forward to the next installment in the series and may never eat Sushi OR Sashimi again.

Evil Sushi by C.A. King is a unique thriller where things go bump in the night. If they aren’t zombies and they aren’t the walking dead, what the h*ll are they? Beware what you don’t understand.

I have read many novels by C.A King and loved them all. This book was weird but in a good way. The concept was so original, I loved it. The story takes place some time in the future. Humans saved the animals and the climate but destroyed the ecosystem under our oceans. By not eating meat, people overfished to compensate and now there are barely any fish left. In a small town on the Eastern Coast, two fishermen trudge out to sea in hopes of catching something to at least feed their family. What happens next will definitely take you by surprise. Excitement soon turns to trepidation and eventually leads to horror. With everything happening in the world today, can this be a possibility in our world? Although the book is fictional, it does make you think. Looking forward to seeing what happens in part two.

Evil Sushi (Evil Sushi Series Book 1) by C.A. King was an excellent read. I loved the characters and the plot of the story. I liked that this book took pollution and issues with climate change to the extreme to create a world almost completely void of ocean life. It made for the fascinating creation of the Evil Sushi. The characters of this novel really brought out the craziness that could happen with a shortage of different resources and the consequences.

This author definitely brought forth her creativity with this novel and the characters. I had no problem following along as the story progressed and I cannot wait to see what happens in book two! Such a fun fantasy novel! I highly recommend it.
