Nite Fire: Flash Point (Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Sunday Barnaby

Nite Fire: Flash Point by C.L. Schneider

Narrated by Cassandra King

Five Stars

Nite Fire: Flash Point is the first book in the Nite Fire series by C.L. Schneider. I have to say that the world building and character development is well beyond the usual talent of a new author. This book is amazingly detailed and flowed smoothly throughout. I was hooked from the very first chapter. The story is filled with action, suspense and mystery. Dalia Nite has fled her home planet and taken up residence in the human world. She is isolated and protecting the humans without their knowledge for them allowing her to stay in relative peace. Things start to get messy when more non human creatures start causing trouble, but will Dalia be able to solve the mystery?

This book was narrated by Cassandra King. I absolutely love her voice. She brought the characters to life. I have read this book before listening to it, and I have to say I liked it so much better as an audio, just because in my own mind I was butchering the names and places.

This is a great book and if you like paranormal, I highly recommend this book. I’m looking forward to reading/listening to the next book in this series.

Nite Fire: Flash Point (Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Shadel Ayerbe

4 stars out of 5

Flashpoint: Nite Fire volume 1 by C.L Schneider. This is a story of murders and an action pact full of adventure. It has suspense and interesting twist as well as murders.

A shape-shifting executioner named Dahlia Nite who in an attempt to escape from her world goes to the human realm. She seeks to repay the humans by hunting the creatures that threaten the unaware human lives. Sentinel City gets attacked with brutal murders. Dahlia Nite in charge of helping the police find out who murdered these people while also attempting to hide the truth about her past and her people.

This is the first audiobook in the Nite Fire series and I can’t wait to read more. I am excited to see what else they have in store for this story.

Nite Fire: Flash Point (Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider was such a great listen. I loved the world and character development. Such an intricate world with so many actors. Dahlia just came to life for me. The narrator was great at bringing characters to life and made dialogue easy to follow along. The twists and turns kept me on my toes, I had no idea what would happen next!

Nite Fire: Flash Point (Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Heather Lovelace

5 out of 5 stars

This is a book that all fantasy lovers should read. Being familiar with this work, I was very excited to listen to the audiobook to take the experience to the next level. And it certainly did just that. The narrator did a beautiful job giving life to each page. Dahlia became that much more tangible as I listened to the story, with each event and emotion. I thoroughly enjoy Schneider’s writing and King’s narration. Cannot recommend both of them highly enough.

Nite Fire: Flash Point (Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Betsy Melano

A dragon/human shifter fantasy that I instantly loved and had to listen to each day as long as I could. The characters and the detailed description of the different dragon shifters captivated me from the beginning. Dahlia Nite has spent almost a century living among earth pretending to be human. She works hard keeping the humans safe from the dangers of dragon kind roaming the earth. After all this time, she is finding more and more troublesome creatures traveling to earth and destroying the very peace she is trying to uphold.

The narrator, Cassandra King did a wonderful job. She added excitement, empathy, concerns, and everything else the characters faced.

I throughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next volume in the series!

Fire: Flash Point (Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider – Review by Piper Foster

Dragon Elders oh wow they seem like vicious creatures. They are the top dog. This is a very descriptive book. The audio is done really well. You want High fantasy, shape shifting this book is for you. Dahila Nite is the main character in this book she is tough as nails. Half human half dragon what is not to love. Dahila is very hard working citizen. Casey is a very career oriented person. These two start working together on these murder cases. This audio book intiences you wanting to listen more and not stop. Am amazing girtty, dark fantasy. Some twist that I never expected as well. Nervosuly awaiting the next book.

Nite Fire: Flash Point (Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by C.L. Schneider

My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first shifter/hybrid fantasy novel that I’ve genuinely enjoyed from start to finish. I was enchanted by C.L Schneider’s dramatic prose, and Cassandra King did a fantastic job narrating. Her performance was very dynamic and added a lot more thematic context to the story.

Dahlia Nite is a fantastic character, and her special powers as an empath and how she uses it to blend in among humans was very exciting. Schneider’s world building was also detailed, yet expansive. You definitely felt like Earth and its humans were just a small population ignorant of the countless other worlds full of mythical and alien creatures. Not only does it make for good fantasy, but the novel also treats you to murder mystery elements and introspective explorations into identity as Dahlia must choose how she wants to define herself as a Lyrriken, a half human and half dragon being.

Schneider needs to be immediately added to every single fantasy-lover’s must read list. I always hope but never know how she will surpass her previous work. The Crown of Stones books are simply amazing stories. This novella is set up beautifully to be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. However I will express that once you read once you won’t want to read it without the others. You will want to immerse yourself in the entire universe. Another amazing journey with Ian Troy!

I don’t normally read this genre, but have made an exception for this series. C.L Schneider has such a way with words, that I find myself sucked into the book. The Wandering Isles is the first novella, following the Crown of Stones series. Normally novellas are small tidbits of information the author adds on, but this feels like it could be a full story. The imagery is wonderful, and the connection between Ian Troy and Jarryd Kane is one I’ve never seen before. While I will admit, I was lost and confused the first half of the book, the characters were too. So I don’t take it too personally, haha. I love being able to see things unfold from their point of view, and feel what they are feeling. I am glad to know the author plans to put more novellas.

This book is such a fantastic book. It was great to be able to fall back into a world that felt so familiar and yet be introduced to a new story at the same time. I thought the characters worked so well together too. The balance between them just added so much to the story.
This whole book was so well written. It was engaging right from the word go and I was sucked in immediately. I have definitely enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading more. This is a highly recommend series.

The Wandering Isles is a new Novella Series that leads on from the Crown of Stones Series.

It’s been a while since I read a book from this series, but after reading this book and being taken into this world again, I forgot how thrilling this world is.
This is a mentally visual read that along with the author’s descriptions and compelling writing you can help but imagine this all out in your head as you read it. This book not only takes you through the emotions, but also through the ups and downs, and twists and turns, being the magical, dark, adventurous fantasy read that it is I couldn’t help but be captivated by the storyline and the characters once again!

The Wandering Isles is a novella that follows the Crown of Stones trilogy. Even though you can read this story as a standalone, I highly recommend reading The Crown of Stones books. They are amazing!

As with The Crown of Stones, The Wandering Isles is expertly written. I was sucked into the story within the first paragraph and felt like I was living in the book with the characters. The world building in all of the books I’ve read by this author is excellent, and this book is no exception. I can see it like a movie in my mind as I read.

You really get to know the characters on a deeper level in this book as it’s a novella focused on a specific event. Even though it’s a shorter story, you don’t feel like you are missing anything.

I thoroughly enjoyed this dark fantasy adventure!

After Ian Troy sacrificed everything for peace, he decided to leave Mirra’ kelan with his one friend Jarryd Kane. They became explorers of the high seas, travelling wherever the wind blew. Deciding to explore the old routes of his ancestors, he tried to find the Wandering Isles. Unfortunately, some things shouldn’t be found. They were forced into a trade that pushed the boundaries of their sanity.

This is a complex story that plays on the darker side. It is about two people who have lived through hell and having to face their nightmares to overcome their fears. Sometimes it is the “what if’s” that are worse. What can come out of the recesses of your mind are sometimes worse than reality. The story is well written though I did find it somewhat redundant the constant switch between nightmare and reality. There is a twist near the end which can lead into many more wonderful stories in this series.

The Wandering Isles, A Crown of Stones Novella is the first book in the Crown of Stones Novella Series by C.L Schneider. As with the original Crown of Stones Trilogy, this is a very intriguing action-packed fantasy adventure- with wonderful originality, magic, discoveries, dramatic developments, and superb world building.
This could be read as a standalone, but I think that as this book draws on events and characters which occurred in the original trilogy, that this book would be better enjoyed and appreciated having read the Crown of Stones Trilogy first.
We watched Ian Troy go through so much, at great sacrifice to himself, in the Crown of Stones Trilogy. Now just because the realm doesn’t need him and his magic anymore- doesn’t mean his adventures are over. He just doesn’t realise that just quite yet. But he will. Ian sets sail to do some exploring, and soon finds himself on the shores of the mysterious Wandering Isles. The area seems to be abandoned- but are they really? What happens next makes for an exciting and intriguing read which will see Ian and Jarrod tested again in ways they could have never imagined.
A well-crafted, clever, and creative story that sets this new novella series off to a great start. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Thank you, C.L Schneider!

The Wandering Isles by C. L. Schneider is the first novella in the Crown of Stones series, and was a great read! It was so comforting for me to be back in the world with Troy and Jarryd again, but this time on a new adventure. I loved the first three books in the series so much, I was overjoyed when this one came out! This book definitely did not disappoint, and exceeded all the expectations I had for it as well! Completely enthralling, it captured me from the beginning. It was also a quick read, at least in regards to other novels in the series. The synopsis says this can be read a stand-alone novel, and while it can be read that way, it makes much more sense when you read the other three books first! I highly recommend reading not only this novella, but the other books as well!

The new characters and the world the author creates is quite interesting and I think new and unique. C. L. Schneider will forever be on my read list.

Have you ever wanted to take to the seas and stumble into islands that have a mystery about them and their inhabitants? Well the good news is that in this novella you can just do that. C.L. Schneider does an awesome job creating this world so you will take that journey. She paints a vivid picture of the Wandering Isles with her words: you feel you were on the island with Ian and Jarryd. Ian and Jarryd both complex characters who are woven into the story perfectly. There are twists and turns as well as ups and downs. I felt myself being drawn into the book as I read the pages. I had to do some reality checks to make sure what I was reading was in my book world and not in my real world. Will Ian and Jarryd be able to pull away from the Wandering Isles or will it be their doom? I highly recommend this book and the series of A Crown of Stones.

I really enjoyed this novella, a first in a line of several novellas that tie into CL Schneider’s Crown of Stones series that I have previously enjoyed. It was an even nicer departure to read a shorter form of the adventures that take place. I felt like I was able to get more familiar with characters and enjoy more of the history as it was easier to take in while reading. I really love how these stories take you away to this magical and mysterious new land. The way Schneider is able to bring to life this world with her words you see and smell it almost even as you read.

In The Wandering Isles we get a lot of Ian and Jarryd. These two were fun to follow and kept me engaged as I was reading with their personalities. Things move even more fast paced in this novella and are quite enthralling. The story has a lot of magic and mystery that makes you sit on the edge of your seat for the next exciting chapter. I loved this one and am anxiously awaiting the next novella to be devoured soon!

Once again I found myself sinking into a storyline a bit outside my normal reading but that’s nothing new with this author,. I often find myself completely drawn in with the books from this author. This is a off shoot from another fantastic series and while there’s some character overlap you can read this as a stand-alone without any confusion, but I do highly recommend the other books also. From page one I knew I was in for another great adventure and the characters had me hooked from beginning to end. The storyline is well thought out and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. The characters simply draw you in and I found myself completely losing track of the outside world for a while which I loved. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next. The Wandering Isles, A Crown of Stones Novella (Novella Series #1)The Wandering Isles, A Crown of Stones Novella by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Wandering Isles is the first in a series of novellas that continues the story of C.L. Schneider’s Crown of Stones series. It’s been a while since I read the series, so it’s great to get more of the story!
The novella format is a departure from the longer novels that made up the original series. It works well with this story, which focuses on a single incident on Troy and Kane’s journey. It’s an intense, mysterious story with strong psychological elements which is short enough to hold the reader captive for the duration.
The connection between Troy and Kane, both magical and personal, is a powerful force and motivator in the Crown of Stones series and the nature of this story, where the two are travelling alone and are forced to confront and expose some of their deepest and darkest fears, really develops that relationship.
For me, this is a five-star read. I was totally immersed in the strange world Troy and Kane found themselves in and couldn’t put the book down! It reminded me at times of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and also of a Stargate SG-1 episode (The Gamekeeper – S2 Ep4). It was also great to be reminded of the Crown of Stones series – I want to reread all of the books now!
This could be read as a standalone, but for me it was particularly powerful in that it reminded me of the events and tensions of the novels. If you have enjoyed the Crown of Stones series, this is definitely worth a read! If you haven’t read them yet, this might be a good place to start as a shorter story that gives you a taste of Schneider’s style and introduces the characters.
