HEAVEN ONLY KNOWS (A Silver Buckle Brides Romance Book 3)HEAVEN ONLY KNOWS by Laurie Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the third book in this series but can be read as a standalone. This is a slow burn romance with a lot of emotions. Agata has known loss and pain and her past is what dictates how she lives her life now. Barrett is a lawyer that has been asked to stay after the firm he is working for just won a big case. Barrett has a decision to make because part of him wants to stay working for this firm but part of him feels his family obligations pulling at him. These two are drawn to each other but what will they do with these feelings? The author does an excellent job of pulling you into the story and connecting you to the characters. I enjoyed reading this story and I look forward to reading more by this author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a good and interesting read. This book is about second chances. Del goes to Africa in hopes to find herself and open herself to more possibilities. She has been through a lot and her life hasn’t turned out the way she has hoped. This story has some drama, friendship, family, hope and of course possibilities. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this story but I’m glad I took the chance. I enjoyed this author’s writing style. The author made the characters relatable and easy to connect with. I recommend this book, I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.

This was a fun quick read. Holland finds herself at a new school her junior year in high school. She also finds herself crushing on two guys. She didn’t realize the drama having a crush on these two would cause., but in all fairness the drama isn’t her fault. She made some good friends even though she misses her friends from her old school. This author wrote an excellent YA romance that I think young adults will enjoy. This is a must read if you want to find out which crush Holland chooses. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I recommend this book.

This was a great read. This story was short and quick but I was kept glued to the pages . I didn’t know what to expect going into this book but I am so glad I took a chance because I loved the plot and the multitude of characters. Rene is looking for his sister’s killer and he is dealing with her death by drinking himself stupid. Belladonna starts messing with him so he thinks he’s losing his mind but she has long term plans for him. I wasn’t sure if I liked her in the beginning but enjoyed her more as the story went. There is mystery, drama, love, murder, and more in this book. There are some other characters in this book that grabbed my attention while reading. I hope the author writes more books with these characters because I didn’t want it to end. I recommend this book.

This was a sweet second chance romance. I found this book enjoyable and entertaining. I found Trinity’s character to be refreshing. Trinity had to make a lot of sacrifices for her dreams including Shooter. Years later Shooter is back in town as a Sheriff and Trinity is so close to starting the chapter in her life. The connection between these two is still just as strong as it was before. Will they be able to overcome the past to build a future together? If you want to find out then this is a must read. This book can be read as a standalone. My advice is to read all the books in this series because this author is very talented and I have never been disappointed in anything I have read by her. I look forward to reading more. I recommend this book.

This is the 4th book in this series but can be read as a standalone. Even though this book can be read as a standalone I still recommend reading the other books in this series because they are all good reads. I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author and this one is no different. This story has love, loss, second chances, chemistry, drama, great characters, and so much more. This book kept me glued to the pages which made for a quick read. I found myself completely invested in Bijou and Noah’s story. Can they move on from their past traumas to love again? Will Bijou be able to keep the youth center running? These are things you will find the answers to when you dive into this enjoyable story. I recommend this book and I can’t wait to read what comes next.

Falling for a Star in the City (Stars in the City Series) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Candida Hopper

Falling for a Star in the City (Stars in the City #2)Falling for a Star in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. This book starts out slow but pulls you in the more you read. Paige is all over the map with her feelings and I attribute a lot of that to her not dealing with her friend’s death and her wanting to please her other people. Paige and Walker have been together for a long time so part of me understood her reluctance to let that relationship go completely. Paige and Viktor start hanging out and I was rooting for these two the entire time but there are definite issues that need to be worked out on both their parts for anything to work between them. This story has drama, angst, emotions, friendships, and great characters. The characters in this book are very relatable. I enjoyed reading this story. I can’t wait to read more books by this author.

Malice (Demented Souls #10)Malice by Melissa Stevens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I first started reading this book I had no idea it was so far into the series. Now that I know I will definitely go back and read earlier books in this series because I enjoyed this one so much. I love a good MC story so I am glad that I found this series and this author. I was pulled into the story from the start. Bonnie broke up with her ex and he can’t seem to take no for an answer. Malice listened to his instincts and stepped in at the right time to stop Bonnie’s ex from kidnapping her. When her ex starts to escalate she has no choice but to turn to Malice but she doesn’t know if she should trust him. This book had a little bit of everything I love in a good read. I recommend diving right in. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

This was such a good read. I have enjoyed every book I have read by this author and this one is no different. Nicole and Callum are the main characters in this story and they are both strong and independent. There is some drama, spicy moments, action, and a little bit of suspense. I had a hard time putting this book down once I started. This is the second book in this series and I enjoyed it as much if not more than the first book. Callum and Nicole go through some ups and downs once they realize that their one night stand in Costa Rica isn’t the end of their encounter. They return to their real lives after being in Costa Rica only to find out that Callum is Nicole’s professor. I don’t want to give too much away. I recommend this book. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Falling Down (Rockstar, #1)Falling Down by Anne Mercier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a fun and entertaining read. This story pulled me right in with great characters, laughter, music, talent, steamy moments and more. There was chemistry between Jesse and Lucy the first time they met and neither one forgot that even though there is quite some time before they run into each other again. Lucy is a huge fan of Falling Down, the band that Jesse is the lead singer of. She has had a major crush on Jesse for as long as she can remember. Lucy has amazing talent as a singer but she has been acting because that is what her mom has wanted her to do and for a long time she thought that’s what she wanted as well. I don’t want to give anything away. If you want to find out what happens between these two and find out if Lucy makes a career change, then you will want to dive right into this book. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I recommend this book.

This was such a good read. As soon as I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I quickly became invested in the lives of Cadence and Damien. Both of these characters grow in so many ways during this story. The author made the characters relatable. The author did an awesome job keeping me interested and wondering if these two were going to find their way to each other. I wanted to yell at Cadence and tell her to leave her crappy fiancé. There were also some other really great characters in this story that helped Damien and Cadence get to where they ended up. I don’t want to give anything away here, but I will say that this is a must read. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

This was an enjoyable read from start to finish. This is the first book I have read by this author and I’m glad I chose to dive in. This story has drama, second chances, mystery, family, friends, small town, and great characters. Cameron and Jessie had been through so much in their lives since they were young. I couldn’t help but find myself rooting for their love to conquer all. This book goes back and forth in time to bring the story together and gives us a good understanding of how everything played out. There are also other great characters in this book that are going through their own situations. This book was a quick read for me and I was entertained throughout. I recommend this book.

The turmoil that Becka caused not only for Mav and Cal but for the entire band was huge. While I was reading this situation unfold I just wanted to yell at them to open their eyes and see what they were doing to each other. I definitely became invested in the characters and the outcome. I thoroughly enjoyed the extras in the second part of this book. Reading other characters’ points of view made everything more interesting. This book was so much fun to read. It had a little bit of everything I wanted in a good story. This book has mystery, action, danger, mafia, steamy moments, love, loyalty, family, great characters and more. I enjoy this author’s style of writing. I got sucked into the story from the beginning and I was kept entertained throughout. I had a hard time putting this down while I was reading because I needed to know what was going to happen next. The chemistry between Derek and Justine could be felt jumping off the pages but both of them like to keep people at arms length. Justine’s past has a lot to do with how she interacts now. Derek is always trying to protect the people he cares about. If you want to know what happens between these two then this is a must read. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book.

Whiskey Throttle (Moto X #6)Whiskey Throttle by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the sixth book in this series and can be read as a standalone, but it is my suggestion to start from the beginning.
This is Parker’s story and a very emotional one at that. This book had me hooked from the beginning and kept me turning pages throughout the entire book. This story dealt with addiction and consequences that come from not getting help. Parker and his sister had a traumatic upbringing that Parker hasn’t really dealt with. This story takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions as Parker tries not to lose everything and navigate how to deal with his past. I can’t say enough good things about this book. I have read other books by this author and I’m never disappointed. This is a must read that you won’t be able to put down and it will definitely make you want to read the entire series if you haven’t already. I highly recommend this book.

I have read other books by this author and they were amazing. Going into this book I wasn’t sure what to expect because it’s a different genre than what I’m used to reading from this author. I’m so glad I took a chance on reading this one because it was even better than I could have imagined. There is love, romance, betrayal, forgiveness, danger, twists and turns, and great characters. This was a quick read but full of emotions. While I was reading this story I found myself completely invested in the outcome of the characters, will love be able to overcome the hurt? I wanted Dorian and Augustine to be happy but I also wanted their wives to be happy because I know they loved their wives so much. It’s a tough position that they found themselves in. I think some of the situations they found themselves in were handled maturely. I thought this was a great read and I can’t say enough good things about this book. I highly recommend this book.

This is the second book in this series and I enjoyed it just as much as the first book. This author knows how to keep me on the edge of my seat glued to the pages needing to know what was going to happen next. Both of these characters have serious trust issues because of their past. They are so different but fit so well together if they can get past all of baggage from their past. This story has danger, suspense, drama, love, and great characters. There are trigger warnings for this book but honestly those issues were dealt with so seamlessly that it makes me like this author’s style even more. I can’t say enough good things about this book so I’m just going to say this is a must read you will not regret.

This story was a great read. There is loss, love, friends, healing, romance and some suspense about what’s going to happen between Loch and Hailey. Loch’s manager books him a getaway at a B&B to give him some space and time to heal from the tragic loss of his sister. Loch hasn’t been the same since she passed away and he isn’t able to write music. Hailey, the owner of the B&B is no stranger to loss. Both of these characters need healing in many ways. This is the first book I have read by this author and I’m glad I took a chance on it. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and ability to draw me into the story. I became invested in the outcome of the characters as I read this book. This book covers a sensitive subject and the author brought it to life in a very thought provoking way. Barbara is a strong, independent, lawyer whose life changes dramatically. It all starts when she catches her fiancé cheating. She gifts her destination wedding to her best friend, this is where she meets sebastian. Sebastian is a fellow lawyer and the chemistry between these two is off the charts. They are both looking forward to their new jobs, hers is a promotion and his is a new company. When they get back to New York they find out that he got the job she thought she was getting. It makes things very difficult for them. The story gets better from this point. I don’t want to give anything else away so I’m going to say grab this book and start reading to find out what happens. I was intrigued when I heard about this book. Aeris is fae and she’s a rule breaker because she’s so curious about everything. She is especially curious about humans. Aeris enjoys reading human romance novels. She has been told not to venture into the human world but she feels safe because they can’t see her. That all changes when she literally bumps into detective Callum and he’s able to see her. Calum doesn’t have any knowledge of the mythical world he lives in. Later in the story Callum finds out that he’s sylph, which is how he’s able to see Aeris. There is chemistry right away between these two. This book is full of fae, trolls, sylph, Werewolves, romance, drama, danger, suspense, fantasy, and great characters. I don’t want to say anything more to give anything away, I will just say that this is a must read. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
