The Runaround: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy by Sylvie Stewart is the sixth book in the Carolina Connections series. This book can be read as a stand-alone. Whenever I pick up a book by this author I know I am going to enjoy it. This book however blew my expectations out of the water. I loved Ari and Jax. The connection between them was fantastic. I laughed along with them, a found myself getting choked up a time or two. They really made me feel like I was on their journey with them. I loved the story as well: it felt different to most other single dad stories I have read recently. It was entertaining and well written. This book ticked all the boxes for me and I will definitely be going back to read the rest in the series.

The Runaround: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy (Carolina Connections Book 6) by Sylvie Stewart is a sweet romance story. Where the man has so many flaws but they make him that much more lovable. I was in fits of laughter as I read this but there were just as many heart felt moments. It is a well written and fun story that makes for a great read. Sylvie’s stories always make me smile so it’s a no brainer when her books come along. I loved the banter between the characters and the flirtation were so entertaining. Strong and independent with lots of sass and his flirting charm will get under your skin.

I loved this book from page one. You always know within the first 2 chapters in your going to love or hate the book. I should’ve known before I started reading that I was going to love it. Sylvie Stewart has had me hooked from the first book I’ve read of hers. I can add this to my list of faves by her.
Jax finds out he has a daughter but she isn’t a young little girl. She’s a teenager! How do you expect a teenage girl to react finding out she has a dad whom she has never met before. Jax keeps trying but, Lola wants nothing to do with him.
Jax reaches out to Ari who he knows thru mutual friends. Ari has an awesome voice and becomes Lola’s voice teacher. Jax knows getting Ari involved could be risky because there is a lot of sexual tension between them. Ari worked on creating a website for Jax last year and it was a miracle he got thru it without throwing her down.
Ari and Jax try to be friends but they both imagine more happening between them. What will happen when they slip up and give into temptation? Will it be a one time thing like Jax is used to or will he not be able to get enough. How will Lola react? Will Lola ever see Jax as her dad or will she always have the teenage attitude? I felt bad for Jax throughout the book because he tried hard to get to know Lola but she blamed him for not being around even though he had no idea about her until that phone call from her mom.

I love the way Stewart writes and am so glad this book landed in my library. I found myself laughing out loud at times with the characters and the dialogue. I felt like these were people I knew and I was excited to read how things would develop. Clever and witty, Stewart is a go to when you just want a well written book. Loved it.

The Runaround was a great 5 star read and book six in The Carolina Connections series.
Ari is a very busy woman with a lot of goals. She isn’t looking for any type of relationship. One night while DJing for Karaoke night she sees Jax. She had helped him a while back with his website and he is very hot. She is surprised when he approaches her and asks her for a favor, he would like her to give singing lessons to someone.
Jax was surprised with the news that he is a father. He is trying to build a relationship with his daughter so he gets her singing lessons with Ari. Ari is someone that he is very attracted to, but the timing is very off for any type of relationship for him. As they spend more time together, things start to change between them. They try to keep things a secret from their friends.
How long can they keep it a secret? Can these two get their lives straight and have something together?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. All of the secondary characters were great, I really liked Ari’s family. It was interesting to watch how their relationship developed and the direction it went. I’m really enjoying this series and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

I have read all of the books in this series, this one is my favorite yet. One of the things I enjoy most about this series, this book included is how the author is able to mix humor into her romance. Her characters bring the story to life with the connectivity and their chemistry. Ari is a woman who thinks there are more important things to life than romance. Jax is a single dad who has everything under control until he meets Ari. What fate has instore for them neither one will see coming. I highly recommend their story.

It is a story that had me laughing one moment and with misty eyes the next. I loved reading about the characters of Ari and Jax. Ari is a woman with a plan. She has goals and doesn’t have time for a serious relationship. She also believes that boyfriends are a pain to the head. She wonders what it is about Jax that has her changing her mind? Jax is a man who doesn’t do relationships. He has just found out that he has a teenage daughter. He also is finding out that he is having feelings for Ari that are unlike those he has had for other women. What does the future hold for Ari and Jax? Will Jax be able to build a relationship with his daughter? Will he act on his feelings for Ari? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I came to care about what happens to Jax and Ari with each chapter that I read. I wanted them to find happiness. There are familiar characters from the other books in this series. I enjoyed reading about them and how they interacted with Ari and Jax. Don’t miss out on a story that will pull you in from the beginning and won’t let you go until the final page. I highly recommend this book. The Runaround by Sylvie Stewart a flirty four-star read. This is number six in the Carolina Connections series and they can be read as stand-alone but honestly they are so much fun I would advise to read them in order as they do build form each other and they show us the talent that Sylvie Stewart has as a writer. Ari you have a drive that not many would, that made me smile so much, and she just made me feel like I had some get up and go just reading her story. Jax is a confusing character but when you read his story you start to see why. This is a hilarious romance that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. The story flows and her characters are very well developed. I have to say I have a slight obsession with Sylvie Stewart’s Carolina Connections series. They are the BEST laugh out loud books that have a whole ton of heart that I have read in a long time. Each one of these books can be read as a standalone but I HIGHLY suggest reading them all!
I loved Brett. He’s up for having a relationship but just can’t find the right woman to fill that spot so he takes up time by living the bachelor life and playing baseball. Liv is a die hard fan and is a loud one at that. Her heckling has made Brett turn his attention on her and the sparks flew BUT she has a boyfriend. Being friends is all he’ll get but the attraction is undeniable.
I loved the characters and the witty banter they have. This was a delicious and hilarious slow burn that everyone needs to read!

The Way You Are, by Sylvie Stewart, is the fifth book in the Carolina Connections series. This new adult/college romance was a fun and enjoyable read. Liv and Brett were hilarious in their interactions, friendships and overall beings – it was hard not to find these two characters unforgettable. A great addition to the series, The Way You Are, fit perfectly with Liv and Brett’s personalities. The camaraderie between friends was a riot and some of the hi-jinks were outrageous. However, there were serious points/parts within the story and the author over laid those with the humor perfectly. Sylvie Stewart knows how to deliver an exciting and pleasing story!

This is book five in the series The Carolina Connections but it can be read as a stand-alone. This is an easy going romance with not too much drama. I’ve been reading some intense books lately and this was a nice respite. This is my first book from this author and it was quite enjoyable. I will be looking forward to reading more of her books. The main characters were well rounded and likeable ( maybe not so much Troy). The secondary characters were interesting as well. I’m assuming they were in the books prior to this one. I liked that Brett wasn’t portrayed as a Greek god/ billionaire stud. He was good looking and fit but he was also pierced and tattooed yet wasn’t a “bad boy”. He was respectful, smart and had a good job. He is a walking contradiction. All this to say that I loved him. Luv was great, she made me laugh on several occasions. They both had amazing personalities with chemistry that continued to build throughout the story.
I was delighted with the baseball aspect of the story. I love baseball and football so when I get to read a book that involves either sport, I am thrilled. The humour and witty banter definitely made this a fun read. I highly recommend it.

The Way You Are by Sylvie Stewart is book five of the Carolina Connections series. This book is Liv and Brett’s story. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down.
Liv is smart and knows want she needs out of life. When she meets Brett, she immediately friend zoned him. She has her boyfriend and baseball, she’s good. That is until she realizes she’s starting to crush on him. Brett is used to being friend zoned. He’s always the friend. This time however, it’s not going to work for him. He has feelings for Liv and he won’t be just the friend. Will Brett get Liv to take him out of the friend zone?
I loved these characters and found myself rooting from them right from the beginning. They experience so many different emotions and turmoil, it was hard not to feel that with them. This book was great and I’m glad I read it!

The Way You Are by Sylvie Stewart is the fifth book in the Carolina Connections series. I loved this book for so many different reasons. First I loved Tambo, Liv’s dog. He made me smile every time.
Second I loved Brett, he wasn’t the stereotypical leading male character. He wasn’t a giant who’s muscles had muscles. What he was is a caring man who knows how to treat a woman. Any Mom would be proud to have him date their daughter.
Liv was funny and a proud baseball fan (Go Cubs!) who doesn’t allow anyone to intimidate her, well almost anyone.
It was great catching up with everyone and seeing where they are now in their relationships. I hope the next book comes out soon.

Number 5 in this series and I am still hanging on every word this author writes! Yes they can be all read as a standalone but they are all equally as amazing so highly recommend them too. I love nothing more than a friends to lover’s story, I think friendship can be such a good base for a relationship sometimes and this story was just the most perfect example of that. Ms Stewart always manages to make me fall in love with her characters, they are always genuinely nice people and they feel like you are reading about your friends. I loved Olivia, she was so sweet and funny, and I can see why Brett was so enamoured with her! Brett, bless his heart, you could really tell how much Olivia meant to him, and in my opinion they were so perfect for each other. They had a really good chemistry that was genuine and not over the top, I was secretly rooting for them the whole way through. As with all of this authors books you can count on the secondary characters being brilliant and they were – they all add something to the story that make it so much more enjoyable to read. As always I cannot wait to read more from this author in the future – she is definitely one of my go to authors!

Nice guys winning PLUS snort inducing laughter EQUALS winning combination. Stewart had me engaged immediately and I instantly was rooting for our “good guy” to get the girl. I absolutely loved the plot and the character development. I love a good book that makes me laugh. Relatable and fun, this book is a must read and one you will have a hard time putting down. Loved it.

I have read so many of this authors books and I think all of these in this series…I love them all..when I saw this one it was a no brainer….and it just might be my favorite of all of them…Well for today it is, I think in a small way each one holds that title.
Brett was awesome, so sweet and carried the friend zone title well, until he didn’t LOL Liv I think is my favorite kind of female lead..She had me cracking up and these people made me want to know them.
I love this author and her writing always grabs me at page 1 and I don’t want to put the book down and this one was no different, I read it in one sitting and actually tried to slow my reading so it wouldn’t end. I really want to go back and read all of these again back to back. I can’t recommend this book and this series and this author enough.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on ‘The Way You Are.’ It kind of snuck up on me and my newsfeed as a new release just three days before it was to go live and thus hit my kindle and I have to say it was a long three days. But, I was grateful that I didn’t have a longer anticipation time lol. I absolutely adored the first four Carolina Connections Novels. Noting that this is the fifth book in the series, these are all written in a way that they could be read as standalone’s. However, the characters from the previous books also make guest appearances here and there, so that is a bonus!
‘The Way You Are’ was such a funny read. It balanced the perfect amount of romance and comedy just like we are used to seeing from Sylvie Stewart. This is partly why I absolutely can’t help but one-click everything from her. Of course the romance had the zing that made you want that tall glass of wine and a fan. Sylvie has a knack for that slow burn build up too! I could honestly gush about the writing for days but…. onto the goods.
OH, Olivia, Liv… I loved her. Sometimes I wanted to yell at her and others I wanted to cheer for her. A lot like she hackle all those players. Liv loves her baseball. She loves her boyfriend. At least she thinks she does. He is perfect. The ballplayer of her dreams. But, there is her best friend that is starting to look really good. Like, not just friend zone good.
Brett gives up. He really likes Liv. But there is that friend zone. He is infamous for it and really it’s just made it to the point where he is just focusing on his career and enjoying what and who he does have in his life at the moment. What will happen when his chance finally comes and the prince charming messes up big-time?

This is the fifth book in this series and the best yet. This is a funny, creative and engaging story that I had a hard time putting down. I loved the characters, Liv and Jason. They both have the same problem, bad choices in relationships. Just when they find the perfect relationship there is a couple of problems. One, they are friends, are they willing to cross that line? Two, Liv already has a boyfriend. Who will she chose? I highly recommend reading this fun romance story.

The Way You Are by Sylvie Stewart a five-star read. This is the fifth book in the Carolina Connections series, I have read the series in order and loved it, this one just made me giggle so much harder though. The Game by Sylvie Stewart is the fourth book in the Carolina Connections series. This book can be read as a standalone. I have read the entire series and would say this is a great continuation of the series. This story gets into Gavin, the younger brother of Laney. He had an accident that ended his baseball career and he floundered for a couple of years. Now he has his act together and works in construction and coaching baseball. Emerson has a promising career in law and works a ton. She also is taking care of her teen brother. The two meet in an unlikely way but will they find their happily ever after? Like the other books in the series I enjoyed the characters and the discovery of a new relationship. Life is full of challenges and these are addressed. I like that the characters are realistic and trying to find their way in life. Both Gavin and Emerson are in their 20’s but I am still able to relate to them and the challenges they face. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and getting to know another character well. If you are looking for a fun read and love baseball this is for you.

Bailey Murphy is definitely not your stereotypical girl. She’s from an Irish background and loves her Daddy and give her a beer and football and she is in heaven. The last time she looked she had all the correct anatomical parts but all that girly stuff is not for her. She is sassy and stubborn and definitely a tomboy but under all that is a girl who has been damaged and left insecure by someone she thought had her best interests at heart. Someone that took away her dreams. Someone she has kept hidden from family and friends. Bailey thought she had all her defenses in place, shields up, gates closed, padlocks locked and a wall around her heart that rivaled the great wall of china. But that was before him, one look and one night was all it took. However it was something she did not want or need, right? What she is finally learning is that she is a girl but still not a girly girl!
Jake had just returned home from living away for many years. He has just started his own business and a partnership and he loves his job. This book is the third one in the series and just like the other two it is a great story. Sylvie Stewart has become a favorite of mine, I find her work rather addictive. She can weave a great story that keeps you wanting more. You will find yourself laughing out loud at the antics and find yourself loving each and everyone of these characters, flawed or not they become family.
