Oh this was such a perfect holiday time read! I am new to Vivian Fiano but this was a wonderful way to get to know her writing style, and I fell in love with it. I loved the way she made this story become so real to me. I felt as if I was right there with the characters as they experienced things first hand. This was such a fun but compact read, that it filled my Sunday evening with some much needed holiday spirit as I unwound from a long and tedious week. Kinsley and Brysen encounter several obstacles in their relationship that will prove their strength and love and the way it will stand the test of time. I look forward to seeing what else is available from Vivian Fiano in the very very near future!

Sweets and Santa: A Paranormal Cozy Mystery by Rosie Pease is the second book in the Matchmaking Baker series. This book can be read as a stand-alone and is a fun and spirited story. There is no way you can avoid falling in love with this book and the characters. They are such entertainment and I was drawn in to them instantly.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I have definitely found a new author to look into. She had such an easy writing style that you are pulled into the book without any effort at all. This was one of those books that I expected to enjoy but didn’t expect to read it all in one sitting like I did. This is a brilliant book with a great set of characters – I would highly recommend reading this book immediately!!

This was extremely cute and a great read for Christmas! It’s packed full of Christmas and baking but we also a cosy little mystery with magic and matchmaking which of course is happening in the best season. The festive spirit is suddenly gone when things begin to disappear and it’s Joanie’s reputation at risk. This was a really sweet and interesting story it kept me hooked and really engaged in reading and overall it was just so good! A shorter book but nevertheless done really well still!

5 Stars!

I love a holiday themed read. This short story is worth the read, it is sweet, heartbreaking and will get you right into the Christmas spirit. It was heartbreaking to see the emotions Kinsley was going through knowing Brysen would not be back for Christmas. I really enjoyed how Brysen’s best friend and Kinsley’s friend Dina are also in a relationship and form this little quad of friends. It is nice that Kinsley had Dina, someone who can relate to what she is going through to help her through it all. I love that this book gives a glimpse of what anyone in a military relationship could go through, even though this probably only touches the surface of what they would endure being apart. I highly recommend this sweet book!

I love a nice Christmas read so I was really looking forward to this when I found it and I wasn’t disappointed it was a fantastic read from beginning to end. I loved the characters and the storyline. This is a new to me author and I love her engaging writing style, my attention was held from beginning to end. I really felt like I was there at the bakery with Joanie and her bakers, the new imaginative baking creations they created made me want to reach for the cookies! The descriptive details meant that I could imagine exactly what I was reading from the details of the cookies and even what they smelt like.
I thoroughly enjoyed this magical, Christmas inspired read and would highly recommend it to others! I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author as well in the future.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this Christmas romance story. It is a story that is full of Christmas magic and spirit. This is my first book by this author, I look forward to reading more from her in the future. I enjoyed how the characters brought the story to life and pulled me into their world from the start. This is a fast paced, shorter book that I read in one sitting which kept me turning pages to the end. This is a story about Chloe and Jason. Chloe was looking forward to a promotion she has worked so hard for until he walked through her door. Her only solution was to go back home and pull herself together before the New Year starts. Not only has Jason taken Chloe’s job, he is determined to take her heart. What will happen to them as Jason suddenly shows up in her hometown? Will the Christmas magic work its way into Chloe? I really enjoyed the characters and how well written this story was. It was entertaining and fun to read. I highly recommend reading this book and finding out what fate has in store for these two.

This was a really sweet and short read. I really liked the story; the characters were nice and relatable. I actually thought I had predicted what was going to happen in the story so I was pleasantly surprised when I was proved wrong. I think because the story was so short I didn’t really connect with the characters like I would in a longer story but that didn’t make me enjoy the story any less. I really liked the authors writing style so I would I definitely love to read more from her again in the future.

All I Want for Christmas: Military Romance Short Story by Vivian Fiano. If you’re looking for something short and sweet I highly recommend this short story. From page one I was drawn in and only sad I had to leave the characters when I did. Even with this being a short story I didn’t feel it was hindered in any way and I think this author did a wonderful job with this short story. And I just love a Christmas love story they just shot straight to my heart and this characters definitely pulled at my heartstrings from start to finish. I also have a soft spot for a military romance and I loved every minute spent in the pages of this short story. I’d definitely like to see what more this author has to give readers. Where have I been that I missed this sweet and engaging author?? I haven’t read anything by her but when it came across my timeline I saw the bright and sweet cover and knew I had to check it out and see what story laid beyond it. I was so pleasantly surprised with how much this novel swept me off my feet as I read. This book has all the holiday cheer you could want with a holiday book and plenty of other layers like cozy mystery, romance, and some paranormal tidbits as well. There is literally something for everyone in this perfect holiday read. I will personally be going back for more of Heartwood Hollow’s stories and more of Joanie I hope as well. These characters will make you feel as if you have a whole new family to visit from time to time. I want someday to experience a small town Christmas like the Hallmark movies tote because it seems so magical and unique. This book read like a Hallmark movie and has won a spot on my favorite list. I can’t wait to see what else Rosie Pease has available and whatever may come in the future from her!

Sweets and Santa: A Paranormal Cozy Mystery (The Matchmaking Baker Book 2) by Rosie Pease is a Christmas quick but fun read. Christmas in Heartwood Hollow is supposed to be peaceful and loving time with a little magic thrown in to make it special. It is full of matchmaking, magic and roaming Gnomes but when things go haywire and the finger is pointed but is it pointed at the right culprits? Just who is behind it and will they get back on track for a wonderful Christmas spirit? The story is a short read but is a real ‘whodunnit’ mystery, just what is needed to get in the festive mood.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

‘Sweets and Santa’ is an enjoyable paranormal Christmas cozy mystery novella and part of ‘The Matchmaking Baker’ series, however it can be read as a standalone story. The storyline is packed full of mystery, magic, and matchmaking which is all happening at Christmas. It is Joanie’s first Christmas as a bakery owner and although she is confident with her perfect recipes she is less happy with her holiday window decorating skills. The festive spirit in the town of Heartwood Hollow is overshadowed when items start disappearing and when an engagement ring goes missing from the bakery Joanie’s reputation is at risk. Having believed her town to be safe baker and matchmaker Joanie wonders if it’s a prank or something more sinister. As well as trying to find the ring and win over the town with her cookies, Joanie is also concerned about the Christmas gnomes that get moved each night. Joanie needs some Christmas magic to help her work out the mystery and I was definitely left feeling full of the Christmas spirit having read this fun novella. An enjoyable and engaging read, I was hooked from start to finish and enjoyed solving the Christmas mystery alongside Joanie. I look forward to reading other books in this series.

Sweets and Santa: A Paranormal Cozy Mystery is the second book in The Matchmaking Baker Series by Rosie Pease. I can’t believe I haven’t discovered this author before now- because after reading this, I know that I’ve been missing out on some wonderful stories. I enjoyed this book so much that I will definitely be going back to one-click as many more of her books as I can find.
This is a wonderful Christmas story- full of all the magic and spirit of Christmas that makes these types of books such a delight to read, anytime of the year. It has a small-town community feel- with mystery, magic, secrets, a little of the paranormal- and some unique and clever touches that really made this story quite memorable.
Joanie’s is one of Heartwood Hollow’s newer residents- a gifted baker, she has spent a long time renovating her bakery and getting everything just right. She opened the doors to her shop some months ago- and even though she has had the bakery for more than a year, this is the first Christmas she will be able to enjoy in her new hometown. Things are getting underway and all the businesses are decorating for the holiday- so she is extra excited to join in all the festivities, decorate her shop front- and even come up with a few unique Christmas recipes. But things begin to go missing from all around town, and adding to the mystery- the town seems to be overrun with decorative gnomes. Things take on an intriguing turn the closer to Christmas we get- making for a sweet, feel-good story.
I will be diving in to explore more of Ms. Pease’s stories, and the rest of this series as soon as possible.

Thank you, Rosie Pease!

All I Want For Christmas: Military Romance Short Story by Vivian Fiano is a great contemporary military romance. The story is quite a short, quick and easy read- but even though it is quite short, it isn’t lacking in any way- it’s well written with depth and interesting characters who are really well crafted and likeable. I thought the story was very enjoyable.
The characters really make this story, and it definitely wouldn’t have been the same without them. Kinsley and Brysen were great- I found myself rooting for them the whole way through the story- and even though there were a few angsty moments with a little drama and emotion- the story ended leaving me feeling good about the outcome.
If you love contemporary military romance- and love a quick and easy read- then this is definitely the book for you.

Thank you, Vivian Fiano!

I give Sweets and Santa: A Paranormal Cozy Mystery (The Matchmaking Baker Book 2) by Rosie Pease , 5 stars.

What a fun read! This is my first book by this author, so I knew nothing about the characters or world this is set in. While I liked Joanie in this book, I hope she grows more into herself in future books. However, this book seems like it’s leading up to things, which is great for me, you are constantly waiting for the next thing to happen. Trying to solve the puzzle is the best part of a cozy mystery and this book exceeds expectations in that part. I love this inclusion of the gnomes too, what a brilliant, fun, and original idea! The other characters in this world really make this good book exceptional.

If you are a fan of paranormal cozy mysteries, I definitely recommend this book.

5+++++++++++ Stars

I don’t even know where to begin with this review. I picked this book up because first I love a cozy mystery and the cover was interesting and the blurb was enough to have me hooked. This is my first book by this author and I’m already a forever fan. The second I finish this review I will be going to her page and getting whatever is available with this series and these characters.

I can’t even describe in words the writing style of this author who had me so wrapped up on page 1 that I couldn’t stand it when I had to put the book down for things like “adulting” yuck!

I felt like I was transported to Heartwood Hollow while I was reading, I could envision everything and it just deepened my desire to move to a small town just like it. Suncraft Bakery is like an unspoken dream of mine so living that through Joanie in this story was like experiencing it for myself. Now I want it even more, add a few books and tables in the bakery and call it done LOL The writing in this story made me feel like while the recipes were being created that I had to wipe flour off my hands, I could smell the creations. Simply amazing!

The storyline is so unique and it seems that it’s an ongoing story and from what I’m seeing the full length novels start next, this has me needing them even more since I hated when this one was done. Adding in the matchmaking and the little pieces of paranormal as she did was genius. You don’t even really realize it’s a paranormal although it obviously is.

This is EASILY one of my favorite reads of 2020 and I will have them all as well as following this author for whatever else she comes up with!

This is a must read Cozy Christmas Mystery!!

The author does an amazing job of making a story that may be a bit shorter than other books however it still is a powerful read. I grew to care about the characters with each chapter that I read and wanted them to find happiness. Don’t miss out on an exciting, romantic, and entertaining book. I highly recommend reading it.

I almost gave this short story 4 stars but after thinking about it, the only reason I would have done that was because just as I was settled in and wanting to read more, the book ended. Well, I knew it was a short story going in and I normally love that but in this case I wasn’t as fond of it because I was completely enjoying every word and how this author wrote every word, which led me to the 5 stars. This is my first book by this author and if this one is anything to go by then I will be reading many many more.

Really hard to sum up this book without giving anything away, but I can say I felt every emotion I was supposed to feel while reading Kinsley’s story. There were tears during one part and it was so awesome. It was a great Christmas read and really felt like I was lost when it was done. I was imagining so many things for her and Brysen, but will take what I was given and use my imagination on the rest.

Really loved it!

She loves all books, but her favorite genre to read, as well as write, is romance. Bella loves creating heartbreaking stories that will deeply touch her readers, but in the end, a good HEA is usually the turnout.

Whenever Bella is not typing away on her computer with a nice hot cup of coffee, she loves spending time with her family and friends. Her favorite places to go are the movies, the beach, or just on a good plain old road trip. Some of her must haves are coffee, chocolate, pizza, music, & movies.

Someone spiked the punch.
That’s how Audra ended up in Charlie’s bed. Even though she didn’t regret it, she decided not to make a habit of it. She and Charlie were up for the same promotion. And Audra knew from bitter experience how fast an office romance could sour.
Charlie wanted more that one night. He and Audra had danced around their chemistry for too long before giving in. He didn’t want to let her go without finding out if one night could turn into a lifetime.

All I Want for Christmas by Vivian Fiano – Review by Kerry Baker

All I Want for ChristmasAll I Want for Christmas by Vivian Fiano
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

All I Want For Christmas: Military Romance Shirt Story by Vivian Fiano is a sweet holiday romance that will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit. It is a short, quick story that is great for just getting lost in for a few hours as you read about these characters and their highs and lows. This is a nice easy book to read and for me was a great introduction to this author. It has an easy flow to the writing style and, although short, it was well developed and had a great narrative flow about it. I thought the characters were easy to connect with and I found myself wanting them to get their happily ever after. This was an enjoyable story and a great way to spend a lazy afternoon.
