Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For Book 1) by Bella Emy – Review by Angela Hayes

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For #1)Fighting for Us by Bella Emy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fighting For Us is the first book in the Love is Worth Fighting For series by Bella Emy. This is a great second chance romance- and my heart ached for what Lorenzo went through. I was completely invested from the beginning and rooting for Lorenzo and Carissa the whole way through.
The story is beautifully woven, with plenty of emotion, steamy scenes, drama, angst, and romance. It is a short story- a novella- which makes for a very quick and easy read. But don’t worry- the story packs all the punch of a much longer book.

Thank you, Bella Emy!

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For #1)Fighting for Us by Bella Emy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For #1) by Bella Emy was a great 5 star read.
I was pulled right in and didn’t want to stop until I was done.

What Lorenzo went through broke my heart for him and his child. He has no interest in seeing anyone and is focused on raising his daughter. He has help from his parents and siblings.
Carissa is also mending a broken heart and has some pretty big walls built up.

While out with some friends Carissa and Lorenzo see each other, and they can’t stop thinking about each other. Fate steps in and these two run into each other again a couple of different times. One of the nights was a little scary for Carissa due to her ex getting handsy and aggressive but luckily Lorenzo showed up at the right time. They end up exchanging numbers and from here things get even better.

These two start to let down their walls and start dating. We get a big twist that sends Carissa running, can they get past the issue at hand and have a HEA?

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I loved all of the secondary characters. I have to say that I was a little confused at why Carissa pushed him away, but that could just be me. The connection these two had was off the charts hot, we get some steamy moments from them. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. I look forward to reading more from this series and author. 1-click and get started today.

CORPORATE CHRISTMAS by BERNADETTE MARIE – Review by Kerry Baker

Corporate ChristmasCorporate Christmas by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Corporate Christmas by Bernadette Marie is a fun holiday romance with some great characters. This is quite a quick read so perfect for that lazy afternoon in the holidays when you can put your feet up and spend a few hours reading.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I loved how relatable and engaging the characters were. They felt like fun to read about while also having a depth to them that I hadn’t expected. They worked really well together and had a believable chemistry that worked with the story.
The overall story was fun and for the most part lighthearted. It was exactly what I want from a holiday romance. The writing was well paced but not too heavy and the made for an interesting story.
This is a great book and a new author to look out for in the future.

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For #1)Fighting for Us by Bella Emy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For Book 1) Bella Emy is a contemporary sports romance. OMG my heart broke and I wasn’t sure that it would recover. This beautiful story is full of emotions that take you all over the place. But it is one that you will not be able to put down until you know it all. At times I felt like I needed a little more, moments that I felt were rushed and other things I felt were missing but overall, it was an enjoyable read.
He is a fighter but it hard to keep up the fight when everything you love is taken from you. Hard to keep it together to be who you once were. Hard to fight when there is nothing you can do.
She never saw it coming. Life was good. Love was good. Until it wasn’t. The blind betrayal. The hurt. The loss. The not so obvious, but obvious signs.
The chemistry is undeniable and perhaps it is instant love, fate perhaps but having resigned to not look for love and protect one’s heart, the road to said love is not an easy thing for these two. With walls in place can they break the other down.

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For Book 1) by Bella Emy – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For #1)Fighting for Us by Bella Emy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This contemporary sports romance with a festive feel took me on an emotional rollercoaster, I found it to be an enjoyable and engaging read. Both of the main characters have difficult and sad pasts and both are likeable characters and very realistic and relatable which made me feel invested in their story. Lorenzo is an MMA, ex-Navy SEAL, single dad who sadly lost his wife, having been left alone to raise their baby girl Lorenzo had to change his routine of late night sessions at the gym for changing his baby girls diapers all by himself. Having accepted that he would be alone bringing up his daughter he is surprised when he meets Clarissa and he suddenly realises he may find love again. Clarissa believed that love and happily ever afters only happens in books after her perfect life with a loving fiancé, wonderful family and friends and a job she adored was turned upside down when her fiancé walked out on her. After years cursing the male species everything changes when she meets Lorenzo. The couple decide that maybe love and each other is worth fighting for after all. I was hooked from start to finish with this holiday romance and loved Clarissa and Lorenzo and how their relationship developed throughout the story. The backstory of each of them was interesting and I liked reading the book from both of their point of views. Their chemistry really came across in the narrative which led to some steamy scenes. This is book one in the ‘Love is Worth Fighting For’ series and I look forward to reading future books in this series.

IRRESISTIBLE CHRISTMAS - PETS TO THE RESCUE (Irresistible Romance #6)IRRESISTIBLE CHRISTMAS – PETS TO THE RESCUE by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this collection of Christmas stories. This is a great anthology that has seven stories from seven great authors. Each story brings something different and shows the spirit of Christmas. I found some of my favorite authors and I think you will too. One of my favorite stories is Two Hearts Christmas Rescue by Tamara Ferguson. It is about Kinley and Jake. Their Christmas is in need of rescuing. A few pets are in need of rescuing, will they turn Kinley and Jake’s Christmas around? The magic of love is pretty powerful, will it be for them? The other story that I really loved was Candy’s Christmas Wish by Cynthia Cooke. This is a story about second chances. Candy is on the verge of losing her house, business and her dog. What she needs is a miracle. As Lincoln comes back into her life, will he be the miracle she needs? Will Christmas be a time for healing? I loved the characters in each of these stories and the Christmas magic they each bring. A great Christmas book and I highly recommend this anthology.

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For #1)Fighting for Us by Bella Emy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fighting for Us by Bella Emy is book one of the Love is Worth Fighting For series. I could not put this book down! It was such a good read.

Carissa was happy with how her life was going. Sure she decided she wasn’t going to worry about dating anymore after the disastrous relationship with her ex. She’s content with the way things are going even if her sister and her best friend don’t agree.

Lorenzo has the only girl he needs. He’s also got help from his family so what more could he need. It’s not until he sees Carissa the first time that he even entertains the idea of having more.

Carissa and Lorenzo fight the attraction pretty hard until they finally talk to one another. They take it slow getting to know each other but pretty soon they’re both all in. It’s not until their first night together that there’s any sign of trouble. Lorenzo has no idea why Carissa booked it out of his house and he hasn’t heard from her but he knows it doesn’t feel good. Will they fight for each other or will that be the end?

I couldn’t get enough of this book. Lorenzo is everything you want for a hero/main character. He’s strong but sweet. Even though Mari wasn’t a main character, I felt for her. The author did a good job giving you enough of her story to keep you intrigued. I can’t wait to continue the series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a brilliant first read from this author and really set me up for looking forward to more reads by her! Office Mistakes is a feel-good holiday romance read that while short, really does bring you quite a bit in a short time. Audra and Charlie have a connection that is undeniable but has been put to the back as they both are hoping for the same promotion, until one night! These two have amazing chemistry and I loved watching them work through the glitches they had at the beginning as it showed what they were both willing to put into things, it also showed what their real feelings were, in a short period of time! Can Audra put aside her past enough to allow Charlie to come and show her what she really needs and wants? I highly recommend this read.

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For #1)Fighting for Us by Bella Emy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story will pull you in from the beginning!

Both Lorenzo and Carissa are broken characters. Lorenzo had a wife and his beautiful baby daughter, until his wife was taken away from him and he was left as a widowed father. Carissa was engaged to the man she was planning on spending forever with. However, when her fiancé runs off, she stops believing that happily ever after actually exists. However, a night out sets them on a course that will have them questioning if love is worth fighting for.

I enjoyed both of these characters…and the secondary characters were wonderful as well. Lorenzo’s family and Carissa’s support system are awesome! Lorenzo and Carissa both have pasts that have jaded them against love and relationships…but there is something some magnetic about their chemistry that they keep getting pulled back together. They both have issues to overcome and the author does a great job of working through them. This was a pretty quick read that I devoured in one sitting.

This is one of the first books that I have read by Bella Emy…but it won’t be the last!

This is the first book by author Bella Emy that I’ve read. I really loved the relationship between Lorenzo and Carissa, how they were drawn together from the moment they met. Similar to most couples, the two have their ups and downs which helped me relate to them. Its great to see that both Lorenzo and Carissa have strong support, which in my experience means a lot. I really am happy that I picked up this book and found these characters to be genuine. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author!

Corporate Christmas by Bernadette Marie. Want a Christmas story like you get on tv this is right up your alley in all the right ways. I love heartwarming stories at Christmas time they just have a life of their own that captures a piece of my heart every time. This is a shorter read but trust me that in no way hindered this wonderful story. The characters are complex and relatable I found myself completely drawn in to their world and connected with them right off. Chloe and Jason gave me all the feels and I absolutely loved getting lost in the pages of their story. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author and I can’t wait to see what more is offered to readers. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For #1)Fighting for Us by Bella Emy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fighting For Us is the first book in the Love Is Worth Fighting For series by Bella Emy. It is a really great contemporary romance by an author that was new to me. I’m being braver and trying out a lot of new authors and I’m so glad as I’ve found lots of exciting authors out there, including Bella Emy.
The author had me in floods of tears from the very beginning as Lorenzo loses his beloved wife. I was heartbroken for him and his baby daughter. Lorenzo is a character that I fell in love with from this very first chapter and I went through every emotion with him: his despair at losing his wife, his angst at having feelings for Carissa and not wanting to sully his wife’s memory.
Carissa is another wonderful character. She’s had a tough time and I just knew that she and Lorenzo would be perfect for one another. I adored reading their story as it had so much emotion throughout. I enjoyed how they originally got together, continually randomly bumping into one another and both being unable to get the other out of their minds. The author does a great job of building their relationship up and keeps the reader engaged with the story.
I really loved this book and would definitely recommend it to others.

Sweets and Santa (The Matchmaking Baker Book 2) by Rosie Pease is just a cute little novel that gives your brain a breath of fresh air after you’ve been reading all them psycho mysteries. A sweet (literally) little Christmas mystery. Although our heroine doesn’t actually solve the mystery it’s more an accidental revealing. I love the running commentary about the cookies in the bakery and I love all the characters in this novel and I especially love the recipe at the end, a unique little addition. This book gives you more than just a good story I’m looking forward to more of these little books.

Such a sweet and feel good Christmas book! Holiday Terminal (A Second Chance Secret Baby Billionaire Holiday Romance) is the first book in the Warren Family Holidays Series by Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson. Penelope is a hard working single mom who is just trying to get home to her family for Christmas. One problem is there is a wicked storm, which halters her travel plans to get to get there. So, they get stranded in an extremely small town in Tennessee. She isn’t the only one who gets stranded there either. Artemis Warren has an infamous family and has the money to go with it. The one thing that he doesn’t have is the girl that broke his heart one summer in North Carolina. He’s carried a torch for her ever since. As fate plays it, these two get stranded at the same time at the very same airport their planes had to land at due to the storm. In less than 24 hours their lives get turned upside down and they leave to a happy ending. This book is a little bit of an emotional roller coaster. It was such an easy read and it pulled you in from the start and didn’t stop until the very end. I am so glad that there is a second book! I can’t wait to read it! This book is a Hallmark movie waiting to happen! I absolutely adored it! I have no complaints at all! Well done ladies!

Sweets and Santa is book 2 from The Matchmaking Baker series by Rosie Pease. It is the first paranormal based story I’ve read, as well as the first book from this author I have ever read and I really enjoyed it! It is a quick, easy, enjoyable story about a newly in business Bakery owner that seems to be surrounded by mysterious events and what seems to be a touch of magic! It appealed to me first off because its a story based around the Christmas Holidays. It is definitely not what I imagined for a paranormal story. It is suitable for all readers! I feel like there were a few parts I would have understood better if I read the first book first. I found every single character to be likable. The story had a great flow, and was very well written. I had a hard time putting it down once I had picked it up! I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it for everyone!

What a sweet story.  You could feel and sadness from both Kinsley and Bryson.  Kinsley is crushed by the call she gets as she should be, but I could understand why she was feeling some guilt too after they hung up.

I really admire our military service men and women who have to spend long periods of time away from the family, but the spouses, significant others, parents,  kids, etc. are just amazing and I have no clue how they get through all that time apart.

If you find yourself with about an hour with nothing to do, try this sweet story.

She just opened a new bakery in a new town. There is some shifty stuff going on and wouldn’t you know it had to happen at the new bakery in town. Will the missing items show up? Is the Christmas magic playing tricks on Joanie or will she be able to figure out what is happening? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what is happening with Joanie’s bakery.

Holiday Terminal by Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson is book one of The Warren Family Holidays series. I read this book in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down!

Penelope didn’t intend to get stuck at the airport in the middle of nowhere on Christmas Eve but now she has no choice but to wait out the snow storm. She never would have expected that the one person she didn’t think she’d ever see again would get stuck at the same airport. Nothing good could come from both Penelope and Artemis being stuck at the same airport, or so Penelope thinks.

I really enjoyed reading this book! It was a quick read because you get sucked in and don’t want to put it down. I could feel Penelope’s terror when she first saw Artemis and realized it could spell disaster for her. I also spent a bit of time being mad at Artemis. He has a few less than favorable moments. Overall, it was very well written and a great read!

‘Sweets and Santa’ by Rosie Pease is a wonderful story full of Christmas cheer, small-town antics, and paranormal activity. Although it is the second book in a series, it does well standing on its own. It also combines several elements that I have not seen before, but particularly enjoy. I like the idea of a matchmaking baker, and I am glad to see that the author lets us know out of the gate that she’s not talented at everything. I also enjoy the fact that the paranormal rears its head among the pages of the story. To find out how it all ties together, I strongly recommend reading the book.
