OFFICE MISTAKES by BETH HALE – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Office MistakesOffice Mistakes by Beth Hale
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Audra and Charlie are both up for the same promotion. They have also both been denying an attraction to each other for two years. Audra knows, from personal experience, that office romances can go up in flames and be more drama than they are worth. So…after Audra and Charlie hook up after the company Christmas party, Audra decides that it is best that they stay friends and not pursue a relationship. Charlie thinks the opposite and wants to see where their relationship could go. Can Audra move beyond her past and see if there is a future with Charlie? You’ll have to read to find out.

This is a short office romance story. However, a lot happens in such a short time. I found myself hoping Audra would let Charlie in. When her insecurities were revealed, her actions made more sense. This was a good, quick read!

“The big city had squashed her spirit. Perhaps she needed her small town to build it again.”

Corporate Christmas by Bernadette Marie is fun Christmas romance that held my attention from the very first page. As this is my first read from Bernadette Marie, I really wasn’t sure of what to expect from one of her stories. But having come out the other side, I can honestly say that this is one author who knows how to write a great book, and I will definitely be reading more of her work in the future- already adding her to my must read author list.
Chloe Richardson loved her job at the advertising agency, it was her sole focus- she revelled in bringing new clients and had quickly become the firm’s top performer. In fact, her latest contract would be the ‘biggest’ client yet- putting Chloe firmly in line for a coveted promotion. Or so she though. All her plans are smashed to smithereens when a newcomer is hired to take over the position Chloe assumed would be hers, and leaving her unemployed right before Christmas. Chloe would love nothing better than to hate the man who ‘stole’ her position and left her jobless- but the heart doesn’t always listen to the head. So, Chloe packs up and heads back to her home town for Christmas- giving herself some much needed down time before having to decide what she wants to do with her life, in the New Year. But what happens when Mr. sexy follows her back home- turning up unexpectedly and trying to win her heart? How things unfold makes for a really wonderful story.
Small town Christmas romance, with chemistry, drama, angst, a touch of Christmas magic, wonderful characters, and a feel-good ending.
Looking forward to more from Bernadette Marie.

Thank you, Bernadette Marie!

I loved this heartwarming festive romance which really put me in the Christmas spirit. This fairly short story was packed full of drama and romance, and took me on an emotional rollercoaster. I fell in love with the two main characters, Chloe and Jason and I also fell in love with the extremely Christmasy setting of Aubrey Heights. Author Marie really bought both the characters and the setting to life with her descriptive narrative and it helped make me feel immersed in the story. The storyline flowed well making this an enjoyable and engaging read. Having just landed the biggest client of her career and for the company she works for Chloe Richardson is convinced she will be offered the promotion she’s been working so hard for. Chloe is shocked and upset when she meets Jason Mitchell who has just been employed for the job she thought was hers. As well as being angry she also can’t help but like the handsome and charming Jason. Jason was looking forward to starting his new job and starting a fresh but was unaware that he was taking someone else’s job, especially the beautiful and intriguing Chloe’s job. When things get worse and she looses her job Chloe returns to her childhood home in Aubrey Heights, where Christmas is celebrated in a tourist wonderland. Jason follows her to Aubrey Heights with the intention of winning her heart but a series of misunderstandings concerning ex boyfriends and Chloe’s numerous job offers complicate things for the couple. I was cheering them on hoping they would get their Christmas happily ever after. This story really gave me that feel good factor and left me full of the Christmas spirit.

When you had so much tragedy in your life, can you find another love.

Lorenzo had everything he ever wanted, a beautiful wife and a lovely baby girl but one day all that got ripped from him and he then had to survive with his baby girl.

Carissa thinks she has the world ahead of her until one night when her partner decides she is not enough for him, can Carissa find love again with someone else.

I loved this story, as Lorenzo has been through so much in his life and then to find love again was a lovely story to read. The chemistry between the two characters was brilliant and warm and fuzzy inside. The story is well written and evokes all sorts of emotions with you as you read the wonderful words on the page. I could not put the book down and as this was the first I have read by this author and I was not sure what to expected but this just makes me want to read more by this wonderful author.

This is a good story. I didn’t love it like I expected. There just seemed something off. At first I was frustrated at how long it took the two main characters to even meet or talk to each other. Then once they got together I was more invested. Then when they were near the end and discussing issues? It just seemed too rushed….the wording didn’t seem to fit with the flow of the story.

I loved that he is an MMA fighter and that’s what led me to read this book. I enjoyed his brother and sister. In fact her story I would be interested in. Gianna is cute but there was not much time spent with her and the couple.

So while it’s a good story and I really wanted to love it..I just couldn’t. Sorry.

This is a cute Christmas romance to read in time for the holidays. Charlie has always had a crush on Audra. When he wakes up beside her after the office Christmas party, it was a dream come true for him. Audra, on the other hand, has mixed feelings. As much as she enjoyed the night with Charlie, she’s been burned by an office romance before. They are both up for the same promotion and their relationship could get in the way of that. Can this relationship work or will it end up being another office mistake? I really enjoyed the story and so will you.

This is my second book by this author and I love it even more than the first. The setting is beautiful, you can feel like you are there. The author does a great job of describing without over subscribing. I love the main character Joanie and all the secondary characters, especially Sarah. I enjoyed how the author intertwined the characters, the town, and the yearly Christmas traditions. You could feel the coziness of the town, how everyone was connected and friendly. Throw in a couple of hijinks, a little mystery, some laughter, and some good recipes and you have yourself a sweet cozy mystery. My only question was what happened to Meredith from the previous book? I can’t wait to dive in to the rest of the books by this author. Her writing style is sweet and light which is perfect!

It was on the shorter side but it was still a perfect read. I loved the characters and felt a really connection with them, they were well planned and thought out in my opinion. I really liked Chloe, she was a nice character to read about and I loved Jason, he wasn’t what I expected at first and I fell in love with him straight away. I thought that they both had a lovely connection! There were some very sweet moments between them.

When you have a crush on a fellow co-worker but will never do anything about it as office romances always go wrong.

Aurda was up for a big promotion but so was Charlie, the only probably she has an attraction to Charlie but an office romance never goes well especially when they are in direct competition with each other.

Charlie has been attracted to Aurda ever since she stepped into his life but they are definitely in friends zone at the moment until one night changes that forever.

I loved this story of love and chemistry, letting your feelings just take over and throw caution to the wind. Both the lead characters compliment each other perfect and the chemistry and banter between them was brilliant. I was hooked from the first words until the last, with this well written story you feel like your transported within the story.

I have come to get really excited each time I see a new Irresistible Anthology come out no matter the season. I loved this one as much as the others and will once again add this to my yearly line up of holiday reads. This one has Pets to The Rescue being the theme of the sixth addition to this anthology series. I love the heartwarming and attention sucking novels that fill these pages. I love how there is something for everyone in each set included. My personal fav in this one was the inclusion of the Two Hearts Christmas Rescue a holiday novella by Tamara Ferguson that brought me back to my favorite of places that she likes to write about. This is one you don’t wanna miss.

If you need a holiday set to binge, or a set to just keep you warm as you cozy up with your favorite drink this is a set that will be perfect for you. Corporate Christmas is a great contemporary romance by Bernadette Marie. This was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work but I was attracted by the blurb and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad that I decided to take a chance with this book as I really enjoyed it and would definitely read more of Bernadette Marie’s work if this book is any thing to go by.
I really loved the main female character Chloe Richardson. She’s feisty, talented and willing to work her backside off for something she really wants: and that is to land the big contract and get a promotion. However her dream crashes round her when her boss’ son hires someone for the promoted role and then fires her, even though she lands the contract, with the help of newly hired Jason Mitchell, who she really wants to hate but can’t help admiring.
I really enjoyed this book. Chloe and Jason’s story is a really great read that I was drawn into from the beginning and was kept engaged in by a great storyline which is well written and flows well making it an easy read.
With the added attraction of this being a Christmas story which I love reading this is a book that I’d definitely recommend.

Corporate Christmas by Bernadette Marie was a good 4 star read.

Chloe is a hard worker, so much so that she missed Thanksgiving with her family. She is working towards a promotion that she should have in the bag. When she meets Jason he has come into the office to speak with her boss’s son.

Jason gets the impression that Chloe is surprised to find out who he is. He doesn’t feel right about the situation and soon finds out that he had taken the job she was working towards. When he finds out the truth about Chloe’s departure from the company he is even more upset.

When Jason shows up in Aubrey Heights, Chloe is confused as to why he’s there. Will he be able to convince Chloe to work with him? Will these two give into their attraction and get a HEA?

Overall I really enjoyed this book. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I didn’t care too much for the boss’s son, and hated what he had done to Chloe. I really liked Chloe, she is a hard working woman with a great personality. Jason grew on me as well, the chemistry between them was great. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today on this great holiday read.

Irresistible Christmas – Pets to the Rescue is an anthology, seven stories written by seven different authors. So far I’ve read the Two Hearts Christmas’s Rescue by Tamara Ferguson. This is a story about Kinley and Jake. The last time Jake saw Kinley was back in high school when he had a huge crush on her. Now after years of service in Afghanistan, Jake is working under cover helping at the animal shelter with Kinley to train service dogs for wounded vets.
This is a lovely story that occurs near Christmas – I enjoyed reading it this Christmas season. I hope other readers enjoy it too!

Chloe finds herself working through the Thanksgiving holiday to close the deal on a big client so that, hopefully, she will be enjoying Christmas with a promotion. However, her hopes for the promotions are gone when Jason walks into the office and introduces himself as her new boss.
Jason left his previous company due to a hostile work environment, and it seems as though his first introduction to his co-worker, Chloe, isn’t going so well. He doesn’t know why she doesn’t like him, but he likes her (as maybe more than just a co-worker).
When Chloe signs her big client, that’s when the drama really starts. A lot happens (and I don’t want to give any of it away), but it happens just like a Hallmark movie. I loved every second of it. A quick and fun holiday romance that I couldn’t put down.

The characters are connectable and brought the story to life. They made the story feel realistic. This is a story about Mia and Noah. Mia lives with a controlling father and has plans for the future in music. Noah also had plans for his future in music until he decided to enter the Air Force to help support his grandparents. When Noah sees Mia, he is instantly taken with her, he even serenades her. But her father puts a stop to their relationship fast. Fast forward six years, Mia is finally away from her father and returning back to Crystal Rock. What will she think when she finds out that Noah has never stopped loving her? Is there a chance for these two yet? Will it be another Blue Christmas? I loved these two, they made the story easy and fun to read. They have such great chemistry. A Kiss Under a Blue Christmas Moon is the fourth book in Daydreams & Dragonflies Rock ‘N Sweet Romance series by Tamara Ferguson. It is a sweet, heart-warming, and very enjoyable contemporary romance- with a little drama, angst, emotion, music, and more.
I have read most of Ms. Ferguson’s books now, and am always quite excited to get my hands on her new release/s as I am intrigued to see what she has in store for us each and every time.
This book was everything I have come to expect from Ms. Ferguson- a really well written and charming story- with wonderful characters who not only have depth, but are also realistic, relatable, and entirely connectable.
And as with her other books, Ms. Ferguson’s warm and inviting style easily pulled me into her story, coaxing me along for the ride. Sprinkle in a little bit of Christmas magic- and this story is a must-read for any second chance romance lover.

Thank you, Tamara Ferguson!
