Legacy of Luck Druid’s Brooch Series #3 by Christy Nicholas is a historical fantasy that is full of magic and mystical creatures. The story is fraught with action and drama, adventure and mystery, and lets not forget the danger. All books in this series can be read as standalones. Having been to Ireland and Scotland I found it easy to travel to and imagine the vivid pictures that Christy was painting. I enjoyed this story but to me it was a little slower paced to begin with and took awhile for me to warm up to it. I felt the storyline of the Brooch was missing in this tale and I was a little unsure of some of the characters. There is a little twist towards the end that I did not see.
Travellers Eamonn and Kate are attending a horse fair with their families and Eamonn falls head over heels for Kate but she is forced into an arranged marriage. Thus becomes the journey to save her and have her for himself.
I have read most of the books in this series and am not sure what is left to read but I look forward to finding out.

“The Druid’s Brooch Series” is a a series of books that can be read as standalone stories. The common thread is a brooch that is passed on to family over the course of many generations.
LEGACY OF LUCK is not my favorite of the series. The descriptive writing had me fondly recalling my recent trip to Ireland, but I never connected with the characters.
This is on me, not the author. The story evolves slowly and there is a bit of repetition with events (or dice games) and circumstances. It is a fairly fast read and I will be putting this on my “to be read again list” to see if my opinion changes.

This is the third book of the series but is a standalone. I have enjoyed everyone of these novels they all are written beautifully. While I was reading this novel I felt like I was right there alongside the character’s and I could also visualise everything around them was an amazing experience. These novels aren’t usually my go to but I fully admit I enjoyed every second and cant wait to read more.

Legacy of Luck is the third book in the Druid’s Brooch series. It can be read as a standalone. Having read previous books in this series I can say that this one is just as awesome. The author has a great eye for detail and weaves the story in a way that makes you feel like you are right there with the characters. There are fantasy elements blended with realistic ones and it makes for a believable tale. Despite a few slow places in the story, the overall adventure, drama, and plot twists keep you hooked.

Legacy of Luck (Druids Brooch Series #3) by Christy Nicholas 4 Stars!!!!
This is yet another book in this series I have read and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed yet another trip into the world of the Fae and ancient Ireland and Scotland this time. The author has quite a unique world that she has created. I was just as enthralled with this book as I have been with the others in this series I have read.
The characters are refreshing and bring the story to life. I really like how the author entwines the two worlds together of the enchanting Fae and the magic and the real world , I really enjoyed the cultural pasts that the author uses in this book of Ireland and Scotland. I like how the story wasn’t predictable. Eamonn and Katie’s characters really drew me more into the book. I like how each were each other’s second chance. I really routed for Eamonn at the beginning as Katie was really off limits to begin with. I also like how Eamonn’s family history with the brooch and the Fae gets entwined into the story. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

Legacy of Luck by Christy Nicholas is the third book in the Druids Brooch series. This is a great series that is full of detail and amazing characters. Although all the books interlink you can read them as stand-alones. Yet again this author has created a story so vivid and captivating that you will find yourself drawn into the characters and their lives. It’s is so easy to imagine yourself right there with them all. The combination of reality and folklore is written so well that you could easily believe it all. This really is a great series and one that everyone should try.

Nicholas is brilliant. I loved this book from start to finish and found it incredibly addicting. This page turner will satisfy all fantasy lovers. Nicholas is a must read author and this book only solidified that opinion. Loved it!
Legacy of Luck is the third book in the Druid’s Brooch Series by Christy Nicholas. It is a historical fantasy- with mystical elements, magic, Fae, action, adventure, drama, mystery, and danger. Eamonn is a horse trader and Traveller (not to be confused with Gypsies),who is attending a horse fair with his family. Kate and her sister Deirdre are also Travellers who are at the fair with their parents (who are really horrible people). Eamonn falls for Kate, but before he can really do anything about it, Kate’s father arranges a marriage for her, and she is whisked away. Eamonn is determined to rescue her, and so with Deidre and his cousin- they set off on their quest. I have read quite a few of the books in this series now, but not in sequence- picking books at random- and thankfully each book can be read as a standalone. I have found this story the most difficult to ‘get into’, as it was really slow to get going and the overall pace of the story was much slower than I would have liked. I also couldn’t connect with Eamonn, and I found him hard to like. I didn’t mind Kate- but again I didn’t fully connect with her either. I really wanted to like this story much more than I did, because all the other books I have read of Ms. Nicholas’s there hasn’t been a problem getting into the story or connecting with the characters. Perhaps I’m just having an off week- so I will look at revisiting this book in the future to see if I still feel the same way. I will be continuing my exploration of this series to see what else Ms. Nicholas has in store for us!

Legacy of Luck is the third book The Druid’s Brooch Series from Christy Nicholas. I do believe you could read these out of order or as stand alone novels however, I wouldn’t recommend it. Christy Nicholas puts a lot of work and time into her scene and story building. It is evident that the amount of research and effort put into the details and making them as accurate as possible. The world of Ireland and the Travelers of the time is vividly painted for you so that you feel as if you are right there where the story is taking place and soaking it all in. I couldn’t and still can’t get enough of the world building that Nicholas does.
I’m not going to even attempt to tackle the story-line and details around that much outside of what the author already chose to divulge in the blurb. I will say these characters were some fun ones to read. The initial first few chapters were slow but once this story took off it was full speed ahead until the final page. My only complaint could be that I wished there was more detailing and explaining of The Druid’s Brooch. I feel like that story-line got lost a little in this book. I am looking forward to seeing what will come next in the series.

I give Legacy of Luck: Druid’s Brooch Series: #3 by Christy Nicholas, 5 stars.
This is the story of Éamonn, an Irish Traveler who enjoy gambling and women. He doesn’t have a place to call home, but he doesn’t need it. Then he meets Katie. He is ready to give everything up for her. Then he finds out she is to be married off to another. He cannot stop the wedding, but he promised her he would protect her and he aims to keep that promise. So he goes with his cousin and Katie’s sister on a journey to catch up to Katie. But this is not as easy as it seems. They are always a few steps behind. Along the way, they run into adventures, both good and bad. Katie’s journey is also a hard one. She did not want to be married to this man, and she quickly learns that her new brother in law is one not to be trifled with. She prays Éamonn will find her. But the farther they go, the less hope she has. Will he reach her? If so, what then?
I have absolutely loved this series and this book exceeds my expectations. The characters so real, you love some and loathe others. Katie is my favorite. She is a spitfire Irish redhead who isn’t afraid to show her temper. The story itself is wonderful. There are good things and bad things along this journey, just like life. Katie learns and deals with a lot along the way. Others also deal with grief throughout the book. The author has weaved a magical story set in a place steeped in the ways of the old magics and gods. I could not put the book down and you will also be drawn in as soon as you start reading.

“Where’s your ideal? Where would you go if you could go anywhere, anywhen??”
Such is the way this story starts. There are rules in time travel and if they are broken, a chain of events can happen to alter things beyond repair. While this is an age-old trope, there are new twists to the telling which made it fresh. This story also had a bit of humor in a few of the more “flagrant” characters.
At times the story was a bit over descriptive yet it didn’t take away from the “meat” of the story. This is a full bodied story that provides suspense as well as world building for future books in the series.
I will be keeping an eye out for future installments by this favored author.
Legacy of Luck is the third book in the The Druid’s Brooch Series by Christy Nicholas. Nicholas’s story telling grabs you from the beginning and keeps up the details until the very end. I loved the journey of this story. Between Scotland and Ireland the scenery could not have a better backdrop. In this book, Eamonn takes a journey to Scotland to find his bride. Kate is on a journey to find him. There are some obstacles in their way. Eammon has the brooch his father had given him. We see the power in the brooch when Eammon uses it. Will Eammon find Kate and vice versa? Will others get in the way? Will the brooch help or will it hinder Eammon?

Legacy of Luck is another wonderful read and addition to the Druid’s Brooch series by Christy Nicholas. I am always completely captivated by this author’s books, her attention to detail when telling the stories means that I can always easily envisage what I am reading. Her world building is excellent. The story is a slow build which I really liked, I really liked and connected with the characters – I especially liked Eammon, I thought that he was a great character. I definitely found myself rooting for him and Katie; there was this real and genuine connection and attraction between them both. The author put a lot of emotion into the story and it worked well against the suspense of what was going to happen. Legacy of Luck was a really great read, although part of a series it could be read perfectly well as a standalone. I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

I’ve read a few of the Druid’s Brooch books and one or two others that had to do with Travelers. I was very excited to read this because I find their culture very interesting and it always adds a bit of dramatic and romantic flair to any story. This particular book was a pretty easy read with a few twists and I definitely think that while a lot of the Druid’s Brooch books are heavily fantasy based, this one has the most realism in terms of where the plot ends up and what happens to and between the different characters. I really enjoyed that. Katie is by far my favorite character and I got a bit of a shock near the end that I will not spoil.

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd by Christy Nicholas is a unique and interesting book. Once I had started reading this I could not put it down. This author certainly specialises in writing stories set in years gone by and she has done another effortless job this time. However with this book she shows that she has the skill to cover a range of decades easily while keeping the story fresh. I loved the whole premise of the story. It’s not quite like anything I have read before which made it more exciting to read. The characters were interesting and fit well with the story the author has created. This is a brilliant book and it has to be my favourite one from this author so far.
Legacy of Luck: Druid’s Brooch Series: #3 By Christy Nicholas. This author never fails to take my mind on an adventure with her words. The characters draw you into the story and it’s just to perfect mix of everything you could want. The storyline is well thought out and written nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Characters are complex and relatable. I highly recommend this entire series but if I picked a favorite it’d be this one for sure. There’s just something about this story that had me completely hooked. Five stars all the way and can’t wait to see more from this author!

A great read about love. Eamonn is a traveller in the horse trade. Whilst at a fair, he falls for a young woman named Katie. To his horror, she is forced to marry another man who she doesn’t love. Desperate to save her, he races against time and across the sea to unknown lands with nothing but luck and some close family members. Will it be enough to win her back? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Katie standing up for herself but vulnerable underneath or Eamonn sure of himself but devoted underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the supportive Ciaran or strong and silent Ruari. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the standing stones in the bog with the mist for a sense of magic and mystery wonderfully written. Or the scenes at the fair full of life and people with small stalls and trades giving a feel of the historical setting so vivid its as if you’re actually there. Or the vibrant sense of colour throughout with the dancing lights or the brooch or the wedding dresses bright and bold and wonderful. The switch of perspectives worked well to display both sides of events and was easy to follow. I also liked the use of the weather throughout, giving a feel for Ireland and also foreboding bad events at points aswell wonderfully written. I also loved the use of the Irish names and places and pronounciations was a lovely touch. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

I enjoyed this book as well as the adventure this author took me on with her story. This story is full of action and romance. The characters are well developed and made me feel part of the story. This is Eamonn and his journey to Scotland to find his bride as she is on her own journey to find him. Once again, we see the brooch and the power it can have. The twists and turns had me turning pages as well as kept me engaged until the end. I highly recommend this book, my favorite yet.

Legacy of Luck (The Druid’s Brooch Series Book 3) By: Christy Nicholas 5 out of 5 stars
The story Legacy of Luck (The Druid’s Brooch Series Book 3) by Christy Nicholas is a historical fantasy book. It grabbed my interest from the beginning, and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had read the final page. It is a story that I found to have a lot of detail and I felt like I was right there with the characters. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Eamonn and Katie. Katie is a young woman who is strong, independent, feisty, and stubborn. Eamonn is a young man who loves woman and gambling. He rarely passes up an opportunity to place a bet and finding a woman is not hard for him. Then he meets Katie. The feelings he begins to have for her are not the same as for those he has been with in the past. There is an attraction between them. Katie finds herself married to a Scottish Traveler and Eamonn travels to Scotland in order to find her. What does the future hold for Eamonn and Katie? Read this book to find out. This is a story that is emotional and also had me glued to the pages wondering how it was all going to work out. I grew to care about Katie and Eamonn with each chapter that I read. I also enjoyed reading about many of the additional characters that are introduced and their interactions with Eamonn and Katie. I have read several of the books in this series and have found that they are entertaining and hard to put down. Highly recommended.

Irish Traveler Éamonn travels across northern Ireland and western Scotland to find and retrieve Katie, the love of his philandering life from two Travelers who have ‘bought’ her from her father. Along with his cousin and Katie’s sister, they track their quarry to the Isle of Skye, running afoul of Jacobites, bandits, and the notorious weather. They’re too late – Katie is wed and bed before they find her. However, they continue to follow, and when her new husband is killed in the war, Éamonn can take Katie home. Her sister, however, has other plans, and colludes with his cousin to keep that from happening.

Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd by Christy Nicholas was a unique fun read that had me hooked from start to finish
Not my first read by this author, so I knew going in that I was in for something well written, original, entertaining, and fun. I was not disappointed in the least. This book pulls you in from the start, with that witty cold open, and the taste of what these time tourists are.
I think my favourite bit of this whole story is that the MC is an older mature woman, who gives no -anything- (keeping it PG here, but you get what I’m saying lol). I loved her within seconds, quick witted and just hard as nails, I want to be this woman’s friend. This story has many elements, different times and heavy with detail. You can tell care and research went into making this as much as journey through time, as well as keeping it an engaging story for the reader. There was so much that kept you reading and kept you guessing. I loved every minute of it, and with each new layer pulled back, and the deeper you got, you almost become apart of the story yourself.
Overall this book is worth your time, energy, and it’s worth talking about. So please take my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval that, you will be captured by this tantalizing one of a kind read.

The story Time Tourist Outfitters, Ltd. by Christy Nicholas is a wonderful book that includes adventure and time travel. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and I found myself reading far into the night to finish. It is a book that is entertaining and very hard to put down. I loved reading about the character of Wilda. She is a retired Temporal Agent who now clothes those who travel to the past. She is a woman who is intelligent, strong, and stubborn. Wilda is also a woman whose life is haunted by emotions and memories. When a Traveler literally falls on her doorstep she finds herself returning as an agent. He is deathly ill. Along with her assistant and best friend Mattea, she must travel back in history to find the pathogen that is now claiming lives so that a cure can be found. Will Wilda and Mattea find the pathogen? How much danger are they in? They go to the past, what about their future? Read this book to find out. I loved the way that this story has so much detail. I felt like I was right there with Wilda and Mattea when they traveled. The story is emotional at times. There are heartbreaking moments. There is humor and sarcasm as well. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that has amazing and unforgettable characters. I highly recommend reading it.

I enjoyed this book It is a history time travel story that took me on a journey of action, suspense and page turning adventure. This author’s attention to details made me feel as if I was right there with Wilda and Mattea. I love that Wilda’s sidekick is a cat that is full of attitude and also made me laugh a few times. They are sent in search of a disease that is killing time travelers. Will she save time travel for all? I highly recommend their story, you won’t regret picking it up.
Retired First Nations Temporal Agent Wilda just wants to run her Toronto shop, garb Time Tourists, and send them on their merry way into the past. She finds contentment in her cat, her sarcasm, and her whiskey. All that changes when a deathly ill Traveller literally fell onto her doorstep, setting off a chain of events which forces her to return to the job she’d retired from decades before.
The Agency sends her and her assistant, Mattea, back into three dangerous eras of history to find the disease vector threatening the life of every modern Traveller. She searches through a teeming desert bazaar amongst the luxury of the court of Mansa Musa. She explores the dark forests of pre-Columbian America, fighting against the heartbreak of true love. She gets entangled in the convoluted politics of twelfth century Norse-ruled Orkney, sifting through the horrific carnage of a murdered village.
If Wilda can’t return in time with the right pathogen, the modern scientists can’t synthesize a cure for the disease before all the Travellers fall ill. She has to navigate politics, bandits, camels, and midnight coup d’etats, complete her mission, and return to the present, or lose herself in the depths of her own purposely-forgotten past.

Christy has her hands in many crafts, including digital art, beaded jewelry, writing, and photography. In real life, she’s a CPA, but having grown up with art all around her (her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother are/were all artists), it sort of infected her, as it were.
She wants to expose the incredible beauty in this world, hidden beneath the everyday grime of familiarity and habit, and share it with others. She uses characters out of time and places infused with magic and myth, writing magical realism stories in both historical fantasy and time travel flavors.
Combine this love of beauty with a bit of financial sense and you get an art business. She does local art and craft shows, as well as sending her art to various science fiction conventions throughout the country and abroad.

Past Storm and Fire by Christy Nicholas is a wonderfully written book filled with mystery adventure, romance and even some black magic. I was drawn in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. Val is a responsible woman whose life isn’t going the way she had hoped and sets out to write a romance novel that’s set in Iceland .The more she gets into it her real life and her writing cross. What happens when those lines are crossed? Find out what happens next. I highly recommend reading this book. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Past Storm And Fire was a creative and interesting novel. It seemed very realistic and was descriptive. The storyline featured many interesting characters. Main character Val was interesting to follow as she created her novel which in turn seemed to realistic and sets out to determine if it was. She was so creative and strong. I disliked her husband Karl at the start of the novel and it seemed to stick as I finished reading. She deserved better than him. His character really shined through at the start right after the Hurricane. This novel was definitely a fun an interesting read.

Past Storm and Fire was a good 4 star read. I was pulled right in by the authors writing. We get mystery, romance, adventure and so much more.
We start during a hurricane where we meet Val and Karl and see that things are not perfect for them. We bounce from past to present with Val. She has visions of Iceland and starts to write a story that spans a thousand years. Val loses herself in her story to get away from her troubles at home.
All of the characters were great. The detail was amazing and my emotions were all over the place. This is my first read from Christy, she makes me want to write a book to get away from my reality as well, but I’m sure it wouldn’t be as great as this one was. Past Storm and Fire by Christy Nicholas is the story of Val Masterson. Val is a woman who is dealing with many issues, hurricane Andrew and its destruction of the life she once knew, a husband who leaves a lot to be desired. Val has an “active” imagination which she uses to her best ability in order to get through the rough days she is experiencing. What happens when her imagined story starts to become based in reality? This was the first book I have read by this author, I liked it but I did find it to be a little confusing at times. Will I read something else by Ms. Nichols, I probably will since I was going through her back library, I found some that interest me. So, if you are looking for an interesting concept in a story pick up Past Storm and Fire.

I give Past Storm and Fire by Christy Nicholas, 5 stars.
Val has been dealing with a lot in her life — a devastating hurricane, a failing marriage, and a boss she cannot stand. To escape, she decides to write a historical romance set in past times in Iceland. The more she gets into, the more she enjoys — it’s her escape. But is it really good for her or is it destroying her real life? Follow the stories of both Val’s real life and the characters and life she created in one wonderful book!
I didn’t know what to expect from this book. I have loved previous books by this author but am not too big on the jumping back in time thing. The more I got into this book, the more I enjoyed it. The parts set back in Iceland pulled me in immediately and I could not wait to get back to these parts of the book. The modern day time frame (set in the 90s) took me a little while to get into. Personally I found the characters annoying. That being said, I believe that is the point — it shows us just how much Val is not enjoying her life. The book within a book is a great concept to me, too. I would readily read this type of book again. Let’s face it, the author has basically given us two books in one, and has managed to do a superb job at telling both stories.
I highly recommend this book to lovers of historical fiction, romance, and lovers of really good stories.
