“Your hands are as cold as ice.”
I smiled. “Cold-blooded.”
dark eyebrows shot up like two bushy caterpillars. “What are you?”
Rude. Didn’t this guy know anything? You didn’t ask a supe what kind of creature they were.
“Naga,” I answered. “Well, half anyway.”
…..Many mythical creatures—supes, as they’re called these days—share kinship or at least a passing resemblance with animals.
Nagas are snake supes. In ancient times, they were thought to be gods, and that suited them just fine. Nagas are capable of shifting between the form of a human and the form of a huge snake—or somewhere in the middle—human torso, snake lower half. Full-bloods have incredible power—they’re strong, fast and agile. All their senses are heightened, and they have an extra one too: Nagas can use their infrared glands to sense the heat of a nearby body one hundred yards away. Then there’s the poisonous venom, and the fact that Nagas can swallow someone whole. Though it isn’t a particularly pleasant experience, from what I’ve heard. You’re bloated as hell for days afterwards. As a half-blood, I can’t do most of that cool shit. My form is permanently stuck somewhere between a snake and a human. I have the slivered pupils and forked tongue of a Naga, together with a pattern of golden scales that stretch up my neck to my temples as Martin so classily observed. I have much of my race’s heightened senses: strength, speed, and venom. But compared to many supes, I’m weak. ”

“My gut tightened with anger as tears pricked my eyes. Impotent fury and soul-sucking grief, my two ever-present companions these past six weeks.”

“Nagas avenge our dead. It’s my right. I won’t be able to rest until I do. Dad won’t be able to rest until I do.”

Phoenix Team One: Selected is the first book in the Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team series by Claire Luana. This is the first instalment/episode of the new serialized urban fantasy series which will consist of novella length instalments to follow along, as the story/series unfolds. This first book sets things off to a fantastic start- bringing all kinds of paranormal beings/creatures (supes), action, drama, danger, adventure, mystery, secrets, discovery, and lots more.
Zariya is on a quest for vengeance after the death of her father. She is determined to hunt down those responsible for his murder and wreak her revenge. But as she begins to investigate she discovers that things are much more complicated than she imagined. What she uncovers will change her perspective about everything she thought she knew and will set her on a life changing adventure.
I enjoyed this engaging story, and as expected Ms. Luana’s fantastic world building and endearing characters really brought everything to life, making it entirely realistic and believable.
Cannot wait to see where we go from here!

Thank you, Ms. Luana!

PhoenixTeam One: Selected is the first book in the Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team series by Claire Luana. This book is the perfect blend of fantasy, suspense, thrill, and romance. The amount of action the author is able to pack in such a short story is amazing. At just 120 pages and the wonderfully written storyline, I was able to finish this book in an afternoon. Zariya Chanji is determined to figure out if her father was murdered. She believes that breaking into the MACS (Mythical Alliance of Supernatural Creatures) headquarters will help her uncover the truth of her father’s murder. Zariya thinks MACS is covering something up but she doesn’t know what their motive for it would be. Then her path crosses with a handsome MACS vampire and she isn’t sure if she will be able to stay alive long enough to know the truth about her father.

This is my first book by Claire Luana. I loved reading the story Phoenix Team One: Selected (Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team Book 1) by Claire Luana. It is a fast-paced book that hooked me in from the start. It is a story that includes action, danger, mystery, and secrets. The story follows Zariya Chanji, a half human, half naga (snake creature) hybrid, whose life has fallen apart after her father’s death. This story flowed and the character descriptions were amazing! I honestly cannot wait to read what happens next.

A series I can’t wait to continue!

Zariya Chanji is on the search for whoever killed her father. She is sure his death wasn’t an accident. Her father like her, is a Supernatural creature. He worked for MASC which governs super like her and her father worked there…

As Zariya works past her grief, she begins learning more about what her father’s job entailed. She can’t believe it but at the same times must come to terms with who he was.

What a great start to a series! I’ll definitely be checking out more books by this author.

Claire Luana outdid herself with Phoenix Team One: Selected, the first book in the Mythical Alliance:Phoenix Team series. I normally love me some stories penned by Luana because she always manages to make me love and adore the fantasy genre, no small feat for myself personally as this is not a genre that I personally prefer! I do not usually have the issues that are the reasons behind that when I read her novels. This one followed suit and literally sucked me into its vortex from the very first page and it spit me out just as abruptly. I know one thing for sure, I need the next book in this series like yesterday! We get the crazy and wild ride story of Zarlya. (secretly obsessed with this name too!) Zarlya believes that her father was brutally murdered and is determined to find out who is responsible. She will stop at nothing but in the process Zarlya is brought into the light and things continue to grow in the danger area. She will not only have to fight her way to the truth she will have to keep herself alive while doing so. You will not want to put down this novel until the last page so I would recommend that you give yourself some time to devour it uninterrupted. I will be anxiously awaiting the next book over here! Happy reading!

Phoenix Team One: Selected (Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team Book 1). By Claire Luana.

This story follows Zariya and her quest to find out the true cause of her furthers death. I won’t give anything away, I will say I loved this book, it’s maybe not as long as I would like, purely for selfish reasons, because I was drawn in and I didn’t want it to end. It does not fall short like some shorter books tend too. If you like fantasy, action and romance you will love this book. I would highly recommend to anyone. A truly great read.

Phoenix Team One: Selected by Claire Luana is the first book in the Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team series. This is an exciting new series from an author that knows how to create fantastic stories.
I knew this book was going to be a good one when I was intrigued from the moment I read the description. Add that to the fact it is written by Claire Luana – who in my opinion knows how to write amazing books – then it was one of those I just had to read immediately. Right from the word go I knew I wasn’t going to be disappointed.
This is such a strong start to what I am hoping will be yet another amazing series. The author has created a whole host of brilliant characters. They are varied, unusual and interesting to read about. The story itself is also well developed. It draws you in so easily and before you know it you are utterly hooked. It is fast paced and action packed. This is one of those books you just can’t put down. I am very excited to see what is next in line for this series.

Zariya Chanji is half naga, half human raised by her father after her mother died in childbirth. When he father dies she knows something isn’t right about the story she’s been told, she’s convinced he was murdered and will do whatever it takes to find out the truth.

Be prepared to have your socks knocked off your feet as you get eclipsed in this magical tale following these heroines on their adventures in this book for the ages. This book gives you “Agent of Shield” vibes and I can dig it being a comic book geek. The main characters are heroines, on incredible journeys, and indescribable romances!
In this book we follow Zariya Chanji who believes her father was murdered. She’s determined to uncover what happened even if it means breaking into the headquarters of one of the most dominant operations: the Mythical Alliance of Supernatural Creatures also known as MASC. MASC control the way superheroes live she believes they had a hand in her father’s murder but she’s not certain of why.
When her exploration leads her to the arms of a handsome vampire who is hot on her trail, she feels closer to the truth. She doesn’t know who to turn to or where to turn as the plot thickens. The struggle is to stay alive to unravel the mystery of her father’s death.
This a great read to get wrapped up in at the time of this quarantine and pandemic engulfing us all in fear. It allows us to escape into a different mode. I was surprised and found this book rather entertaining for so many reasons. Check out this page-turner and you won’t be able to put it down as you read cover to cover!

The deeper she gets in her investigation the more dangerous it becomes but she is close to finding the killer. Will she survive long enough to find them? A great series about luck. In the Confectioners Guild, Wren is a simple confectioner who gets the chance of the lifetime that comes with a terrible price when the guildmaster is killed and she is blamed for it. In the Confectioners Coup, an army arrives on Maradis and guildmasters start mysteriously disappearing and Wren and her friends search for the truth. In the Confectioners Truth, a new enemy rules over the land and Wren and her friends go on the run trying to flee the new regime. Can Wren and her friends survive it all
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Wren wanting to belong somewhere or Lucas’ kindheartedness or the humourous Hale or the stern Callidus.
A brilliant example of world building in a fantasy world with its rules and societies and geography and history that was detailed with care for the audience to imagine. The idea of magic bakers was a fun and fantastic idea and was a brilliant addition to the fantasy genre. The passion for baking in Wren was a lovely touch. Fast paced action and high stakes in a wonderful fantasy world made for a captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars

Not only are we treated with talented writing but, the emotions behind that wiriting gets you right in the feels.”

I give The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series by Claire Luana, 5 stars.

This series is centered around Wren, a teenage girl who has had a rough start to life. The only thing she is good at is baking. She is an apprentice at a bakery and it’s not the best life, but it’s better than she’s had. Then she gets the dream of her life — a chance to be in the Confectioner’s Guild. It is a dream come true. But the dream quickly turns bad. She is thrust into suspicion and plots beyond what she can believe. Things seem darker as the books continue, but Wren quickly learns to believe in herself and trust in her friends. Can they turn things around and make it better for all the people who live there? Or will the price be too large?

This series is incredible. It is unlike anything I have read before and the author weaves a world that feels so real, you quickly become part of it. This is a series for all ages, not just young adult. The characters are great! There are some you love and others you love to hate. Plus you really see them grow as the series moves on.

If you are a fan of magic, great worlds, and excellent characters, this series is for you and I highly recommend it.

The Confectioner Chronicle by Claire Luana
5 stars!!!!!

I have to say that this series is a really great read. Whether you are sat on a beach or just relaxing at home this is a perfect read. I enjoyed this series a lot even though it wasn’t my go to genre. I really like how the author was able to weave just enough drama and intrigue into the story. Each book blends right with the one before it.

Book 1
The Confectioner’s Guild (The Confectioner Chronicles book 1) by Clarie Luana

What can I say but I absolutely have fallen for this series. The author has such a unique way of
bringing the characters to life and I felt as though I was actually in the story. The refreshing
way that you are drawn into the book and just feel as though you are escaping into the world that the author has developed. I just couldn’t put this book down.

I really felt drawn to Wren from the very start. The drama that unfolds around her brings you to
the edge of your seat with anticipation. I liked how the author was able to not only throw in drama and intrigue but also weaved in just the touch of romance to boot. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Wren, Sable and Hale. Into the mix you have the chemistry between Wren and Lucas. The whole dynamic just adds to the intrigue in the book. I really cannot wait for the next book in this series. To get to delve more into the lives of the Confectioners and their world alongside the other guilds and see where the magic leads.

Book 2
The Confectioner’s Coup (Confectioner Chronicles Book 2) by Claire Luana

I am once again no let down. This is the second book in this series and the third book including the prequel to the series that I have read. The author really has such a great way of grabbing the reader and keeping you at the edge of your seat. I really found myself getting lost in this magical confectioner’s world she has created.

Book 3
The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana

I couldn’t wait to get delved into this book and boy I wasn’t disappointed. This is the third book in the series and fourth one I have read by this author. The books just keep getting better and better. I was drawn in from the first page and couldn’t put the book down.

The author does such a wonderful job of keeping the drama going from book to book. There seems to be a smooth transition from the fist straight through to the third book in this series. To get to follow more the lives of Wren and her fellow confectioners as the head into the pending war kept me glued to the edge of my seat. The way that the drama unfolds keeps your attention. I wasn’t disappointed as I continued to read as the drama unfolded in this book. I really will be reading more from this author in the future and hopefully there will be more in this series.

I have to say that the more I read about Wren’s life the more I really find I am drawn to her character. She has gone through so much in her short time in the Guild and then to have to endure more. She is a very strong leading character and the author does such a great job of developing her character around the drama that unfolds. I really felt all the emotions vicariously as Wren went through them and in this book she has a roller coaster of them. She winds up losing so much and yet she still has Lucas. I really felt my heart in my throat as the book came to the ending and once again to have the book on a cliff hanger of sorts really has me anxious for the next book in the series. I will definitely be reading more from this author and the series.

The characters just seem to jump right out of the pages and into your imagination. I felt as though I was part of the action as it all unfolded. I really found the concept of the series to be quite unique and refreshing. The story is quite well written and easy to read. I definitely recommend this sereies and this author.

The Confectioner Chronicles: The Complete Fantasy Mystery Series contains all the instalments of The Confectioner’s Chronicles by Claire Luana. This is a really wonderful, imaginative and beautifully written series- with fantasy, mystery, magic, intrigue, adventure, danger, suspense, humour, fun, heartache, tension, conflict, hostile enemies, disappearances, investigations, romance, food, surprises, twists, drama, and action. I have adored all Ms. Luana’s books, and this series is no exception! She really knows how to weave a spellbinding story that hooks her readers right from the beginning.

The series consists of:
-The Confectioner’s Guild (Book #1)
-The Confectioner’s Coup (Book #2)
-The Confectioner’s Truth (Book #3)
-The Confectioner’s Exile (Prequel Novella)

The characters are so beautifully crafted- quirky, fully realised individuals who continued to develop and grow over the course of the series. They were so enchanting and added an extra element of appeal and interest to the whole story.
Ms Luana has created a unique and wonderful world in which to set her story. Her imagination seems to know no bounds as she brings so many creative and unique elements to her storylines. It’s so wonderfully written- full of visual texture and intricate detailing. The story is complex- with many layers, all beautifully interwoven and stitched together quite seamlessly to produce these delightful reads.

All I can say is WOW- this series is well worth the read!

Thank you, Ms. Luana!

The series The Confectioner Chronicles is a great Ya series by Claire Luana. Claire Luana has an imagination that you can see clearly while reading her books. This series has been created in a world that food has become part of the magic in this world. There is an underlying theme of trust (with magical desserts to help). There is mystery, fantasy, magic, danger, secrets, and skeletons in the closet to go around. The stories take you on a wild ride. I recommend to set enough time to read the stories in one setting. So sit down relax with your favorite beverage, favorite comfy clothes, and a favorite blanket and enjoy Claire Luana’s The Confectioner’s Chronicles.
