This is definitely an “Eclectic Collection of Psychedelic Poetry to Stimulate the Senses and Open the Mind”, and each poem is thought provoking and intriguing. The author has a wonderful way with words and with the flow of words, he’s put poetry to music in a unique way. The poems use clever wordplay and reflections that you can tell are the authors honest thoughts and feelings. The poems definitely spoke to me, and I found the book as a whole an emotional rollercoaster of a read. However, the poetry is uplifting and inspirational and it definitely stimulated my imagination, and gave me some much needed time out, whilst I went down the rabbit hole!

To say this series is unique is an understatement.
If you like sci-fi this is your book for sure.
Lab Spill isn’t the type of book I’d normally read but I came across book 1 and it sounded super interesting and the title caught my attention. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would so of course I had to read book 2 and see where the story takes me.
Lab spill is a very well written book. It’s funny and the characters are great. The author is definitely in a league of his own.

Lab Spill (The Cool Thing Series Book 2) by Robert Rife. This is the best dark comedy, sci fi read. I loved this first book so I was so excited to read this one. It can be read as a standalone. Just like in the first book this one is no different with lab experiments gone wonky. These experiments leave us with crazy mutants and all kinds of misadventure. All the great characters are back from the first book along with some new ones. This read is twisted, weird and full of murder, mystery, monsters and tons of craziness. Once you pick this book up you will not want to put it down. If you don’t like dark, twisted comedy this might not be for you but I loved it. Can’t wait for the next one!

Although this love story has a classic theme, there are several twists. The main characters are amazing, and the growth they show throughout the novel is phenomenal! The female protagonist learns to ask others for help, rather than always insisting on doing everything by herself or on her own. The male protagonist learns that he is worthy of love without having to do things for people. The pets are a great addition!

Hate You Later (Lit Lovers Series Book 1) by Ciara Blume – Review by La Toya Lewis

Hate You Later (Lit Lovers, #1)Hate You Later by Ciara Blume
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hate You Later is an enemies-to-lovers Rom-Com story by Ciara Blume. Georgia and Hudson clash in person but are strongly attracted to each other. However, when these two chat online as their pets they get along wonderfully. The story reminds me a bit of “You’ve Got Mail”. I really enjoyed this story. There is excellent chemistry between Georgia and Hudson. There are plenty of sweet moments as well as moments that have you laughing out loud. I loved the involvement of their pets in the story. This is a very good read and entertaining read.

Comedic madness
This book was such an entertaining read. The second book in the series and the madness continues. The fantastical world that this author brings is original and engaging. The laugh out loud moments are interwoven amongst the mayhem, monsters, suspense, action and a strong plot line. This book is fast paced, has dark humour, is creative and is not to be missed.

I LOVED this story so much! Honestly I think it’s up there with my favourite reads of 2022 and I love that this is also the first book that I have read by this author. This is one of those books that could so easily be turned into a film – I would happily sit and watch this any day of the week! I loved everything about this book, it was funny, emotional, romantic and so much more. I adored the characters both human and furry!!! The story was so much fun to read, it flowed well and it really was just an absolute pleasure to read.
This was a wonderful read, one I thoroughly enjoyed and could talk about all day and 100% one that I would recommend to other readers looking for a lovely light-hearted read with wonderful characters!

This is the second book in The Cool Things Series. I enjoyed the first book so was excited to see this one. If you like sci-fi adventures with creatures and experiences you can never imagine then this books is definately for you. There is also dark humour involved which adds a twist to the story and makes it even more entertaining.

We are back in a world of experiments gone wrong and the consequences when they aren’t dead. It is full of danger, mutants, things you can never dream off and things you wish you had never read about but it all comes together to make a very enjoyable and entertaining read.

The author’s creativity with the characters and the story is what really makes this series unique and stand out from other authors of the same genre.

I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

LAB SPILL: A Dark Comedy. Maybe. (THE COOL THING SERIES)LAB SPILL: A Dark Comedy. Maybe. by Robert Rife
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lab Spill is the second book in The Cool Thing Series. It’s definitely worth reading the books in order, starting with The Cool Thing. Things might or might not make more sense that way, but at least you’ll not be spoilering yourself for when you realise that you need to read more and The Cool Thing is right there.
If you enjoy dark humour and weird stuff, this is the book for you! Lab Spill brings us a world of failed experiments, many of whom are still alive and some even thriving in the supposedly secure world they’ve been locked away in. You’ve got everything from somewhat mutated humans to full on evil slime. It’s fabulous.
The characters in this are great. Messy, often selfish and mostly fairly unlucky. Plenty of favourites from The Cool Thing are back, and there are new characters to get to know as well!
Like the first book, definitely not for younger or sensitive readers. You might not want to read it whilst eating, although I managed that fine because I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want to risk starvation!
This book gets five stars from me! It’s original, imaginative and incredibly entertaining! If you loved the first book, The Cool Thing, Lab Spill will not disappoint! And if you haven’t read The Cool Thing yet, go read it now!

This book has made me a definite fan of Ciara Blume. It a contemporary romantic comedy. Georgia one of the main characters was very relatable to me. I felt like I had so much in common with her. Alot of great emotions in this one, I laughed and almost cried. I am a huge animal lover, so it was a win win for me.

Some of this wonderful poetry feels like it can be read as beat poetry. The poetry flows and rhymes effortlessly in the text. Words give homage to music and images float in your vision. The pages match exquisitely to the poetry written and gives the reader a visual adventure. Euphoric Wonderland will go on my favorites shelf!

I love that this is not the only installment we are going to get of these characters! The book was fun and flirty and frustrating – a complete package!

I am a huge fan of 90’s rom coms and this was nostalgic for that type of story. The author did an incredible job of creating an homage to “You’ve Got Mail” and it even included pets! There is definitely a niche for romantic literature that includes dogs and cats because so many of us really incorporate their lives and attitudes into our own. I love doing anything that I can bring my dog along to, so the main events of this book were something I can completely relate to. The characters were unique but universal – I am sure every one reading has a friend like Kenna, and knows the jerk from high school like Bryce.

Couldn’t put this one down, and can’t wait for the next book in the series!

This was a very interesting piece of work for me. I have slightly been into poetry in the past so I decided to give this a try. Oh what a wild trip it was! I did struggle with a lot of words the entire book and I feel my vocabulary is rather large. I would recommend having a dictionary as you go, although the rhythm flows quite well.

This book is an interesting take on science fiction. It has dark humor and an interesting plot. The story goes between the ship and Roaton, has creatures, fast paced action, interesting characters a bit of a love story. Lab Spill is a second book in a series, but can be read as a stand alone. While parts of the book were a bit much for me, it was readable and entertaining. If you are a sci-fi fan, you will probably enjoy this read.

Inspiring and thought-provoking
This collection of works was intriguing as it was inspiring. Many of the poems spoke to me emotionally. The author is very talented and has a way of stringing words together that just speaks volumes. The tempo at which the words are written just had me immersed. Each poem focuses on different aspects and the range is diverse. I was particularly drawn to the illustrations which added so much more to the experience. This will be one that I will return to time and time again. Kudos!

I chose the book for the name, but the moment I read the quote from Robin Williams at the beginning I knew that I was in for a good read! The poetry spans a wide array of subjects, ranging from mental health to the power of music. I definitely relate a bit to some of the author’s experiences and found the lessons behind the poems to be thought provoking and encouraging to seek the truth of them in your own lives. Something I particularly loved about this is that is the kind of poetry that everyone can understand and appreciate, which can’t be said very often. I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next!

Such a fun book! Pets and romance definitely mix! I knew from the start it was going to be a mess with Hudson and Georgia, but a mess I looked forward to watching. All the ways in which they are connected, whether it was through friends, the pet influencer challenge or just bumping into each other, you could tell there was something between them. It was super sweet to see Hudson kind of fall in love right from the beginning, he couldn’t get Georgia off his mind and even though they were opposites, they definitely attracted. His brother Bryce is a real piece of work and his dad Walker, yikes, but they made for interesting additions to the story. Definite recommendation!

LAB SPILL: A Dark Comedy. Maybe. is the second book in The Cool Thing series by Robert Rife. This second instalment is another madcap fantasy, with plenty of comedy, dark humour, suspense, mutants, monsters, mayhem, murder, adventure, action, drama, and entirely engrossing developments.
As with the first book, this second book is highly original and very imaginative- Mr. Rife proves to be a fantastic storyteller and knows how to pull his readers into the story, easily able to hold their attention right through till the end.
I can’t wait to continue all the madcap fun with THE WAYDOWNS. A Dark Comedy. For Sure…. Coming soon.
Happy Reading!

Big thanks to author for taking me to a place I can only imagine to reach as an author! Great work!

Hate You Later is the first book in the Lit Lovers series. The blurb sounded like a fun rom-com, and the story did not disappoint. Of course, there is a happily ever after but I enjoyed the realistic dialogue between the main characters. This is a fun, enjoyable getaway read that had me laughing at the story. I also enjoyed the cats and dogs. What better way to get to know someone than through the cats and dogs in their lives?
Georgia is a relatable character to me having difficulty asking others for help. Hudson was a good counter to Georgia. I enjoyed the back and forth between the two of them.
I look forward to reading more in this series soon.
