It was a Halloween party and everyone had to show up in masked costumes and the theme was a mascot. Drew picked a costume that he thought would help him win the prize but then he felt self conscience so he hid on the deck. Then Katie shows up and goes out on the deck to hide because she too is self conscience of her costume that she is sure will win her the prize.
Really enjoyed this book and think that you will too. Check it out you won’t be disappointed.

Drew and Katie meet at a Halloween costume party. They bond over their quirky costumes. Their chemistry is immediate even with the barrier of their costumes. It isn’t until later in the evening that their true identities are found out. What follows is a quick and steamy read. The angst level is perfect for this novella. I thought the characters were well written and enjoyed their banter. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my first book by G. K. Brady and will definitely be going back to read the other Playmakers books.

K.C. Cunningham is the daughter of a man who has a high standing in society and his trophy wife, and she has a sister, they all are entitled and cut from the same cloth, well apart from K.C. that is, she does not look or act like them at all. Chamberlain “The Predator” Lawrence is a man on a mission, he trains hard to achieve his ambitions and has a body to prove his determination, as well as looks which have every girl swooning over him. K. C. is nineteen and all she wants is to live her life free from their control, but up until now, she has never had the courage to defy them, that is until she meets a man.
One day K.C. is at the local gym and has just finished a class when as she leaves, she bumps into a wall of muscle and he takes her breath away, but she also does the same to him, especially when his friend comes up behind her and startles her so much that she throws him to the floor! After leaving in a rush of embarrassment, K.C. returns the next day to find him there again, but she is too shy to say anything, so when he finally comes over first, his demanding nature immediately sets her teeth on edge, however, when a less authoritarian side comes out, she agrees to go for lunch with him.
This is where a passionate flame ignites and consumes them both over the next few months, however, nothing is smooth sailing and K.C.’s family take offence to him, but they are not the only outside force wishing to keep them apart, but is there love worth fighting for, or will heartbreak and deception tear them apart before they have even really begun? This is a steamy romance with intrigue and an emotional rollercoaster which will hook you in and keep you enthralled throughout, as two opposites collide in an inferno of passion.

The Predator Part Two is the second book in The Predator Series by Brooke May– and continues Katie and Chamberlain’s story we started in Part One. It is a passionate contemporary, second chance, sports romance, where opposites attract- bringing angst, emotion, angst, secrets, lies, suspense, drama, chemistry, and lots of sizzle. Chamberlain and KC are from two different worlds, but the heart wants what the heart wants- and as we discovered in Part One- these two have quite a journey and story to tell. As this continues what we started in Part One, I highly recommend reading the first book before starting on this one, as otherwise you will be missing the start of their story and all the important details contained there. Ms. May never ceases to deliver an engrossing and heart-strumming story that toys with my emotions – resulting in an engaging story that I can easily connect with, while getting completely invested in the characters and the outcome of their tale. Highly recommended- especially if you like MMA romances with sizzling chemistry. The Series Consists of: -The Predator Part One (Book #1) – Katie and Chamberlain’s Story. -The Predator Part Two (Book #2) – Katie and Chamberlain’s Story. -Wildfire Knockout (Book #3) – Beth and Scott’s Story. -Back In the Ring (Book #4) – Bijou and Noah’s story. Happy Reading…

Nicolette Terry is a new author who hit her first book right out of the park! This first book in the Love Ties Us series is amazing, it had me in tears throughout the story. There were so many instances that I felt that I was right there with the group of friends experiencing their trials, their losses, and their heartbreak. What a beautiful gift to be able to write such a realistic romance, that carries such a sad tale of heartbreak, but which was necessary to lead to the rekindling of a second chance at love. The realism of the action in the military scenes just about did me in, they were so realistic with the stories that I’ve heard from veterans. I truly hope that there are such amazing resources that are available as the ones that are mentioned in this book because there are so many who battle the demons of their memories of what people have experienced while serving our amazing nation.
I could not put this book down and am so excited to read more books by this author. I am hoping that she will continue to build stories around all of the other characters within the group of special friends because I am already hooked and invested in their lives and want more. The build-up of each character having such mischievous attitudes makes for some amazing future storylines, that are yet to be explored. This was most definitely a book I’d recommend to anyone who loves a continuing storyline that doesn’t fail to connect, as you’ll see when you read this, the first of this book series. Happy reading everyone, I know I truly enjoyed this new author’s first book and look forward to reading many more by her. @Brandy Rymer 07/2024

I absolutely love this book series and recommend anyone looking for a feel-good romance series to start with the first book and then this one second. Each can be a standalone, but you’d be missing out on getting to know the whole gang that are key characters in each book. Nicolette Terry has written such a great book series, it gave me everything that I want in a romance, and then more. The author’s use of such masterful ways of going into detail about the character’s life stories really draws you in and helps you to connect with them. Every character is so realistic, that you feel like you can relate to the real-world issues that are going on in their lives.
I love that this particular book gives us Cadence’s story and that we get to see what is going on between her and her boyfriend and learn who the “I met someone” is referring to from Book #1. It’s great to read a story that deals with regular people’s problems and have a glimpse into the lives of people who have not had an over-the-top family life but are more down to earth in the fact that they grew up with less than stellar situations. It allows the reader to feel an emotional connection, and to relate to the drama and contention that makes up the storyline. It’s so hard to trust love when you’ve been burnt and don’t feel like you are worthy of being yourself. It’s nice to have a story that connects so well and overlaps the previous book, showing how well they go together. You are just getting the situations from another point of view from other characters in the friends group. @Brandy Rymer 07/2024

K.C. and Chamberlain couldn’t be more different but as the saying goes, opposites attract. K.C. grew up in a prominent family as the daughter of a senator. Everything was dictated for her from how she walked and talked to the man she would marry. Chamberlain on the other hand grew up poor. The only thong in the world he wants is to be a fighter and he would not deviate from that path. He just never anticipated meeting K.C. and falling in love. Back again after devouring the first book of this series. I ran to read this one. It’s a longer read than the last one both boy oh boy, it was just as good if not better. This one follows Cadence and Damien and their journey to their HEA. One thing I saw that the author did that I love was that she made a clean version and a spicy one. You know I had to get the spicy one but for the ones that don’t read for the spice then they can get the one without and still enjoy the story as well. I highly suggest that if y’all haven’t read any of this series go read it now lol the author is really talented and her writing transports you into the amazing world she’s built. Even though I don’t read rockstar romances that often, this one book of the series is my favorite so far . I can’t wait for more.

I don’t know why I’m just discovering this author but I sure am glad I did. This is the first book of the Love Ties Us Series. Following Jamie and Blake and their second chance romance. I’ve been reading a lot of second chances romances lately but i think this one takes the cake lol. Like reading this was definitely an emotional roller coaster from happy to teary eyed sad.the author really knows how to pull you in then make you feel the heartbreak alongside the MCs. I devoured this book fast just so I could get to their HEA. I can wait to read the rest of the series.

I have read several books by this author, but this is my absolute FAVORITE so far. The intense emotions, the drama, the steam! I was absolutely stunned to find how many pages were actually in this book because I devoured the entire story in a day. Needless to say, I got nothing else done that day. The characters are very well developed and relatable. Katie/K.C. and Chamberlain have so much chemistry that it’s hard to contain within the confines of these pages! The spice between them is magnificently done, and the plot definitely doesn’t rely on the steamy scenes to keep the story going. A couple of the characters made me yell out of frustration as well. If you enjoy contemporary romances with a solid plot and wonderfully spicy scenes sprinkled in, get your hands on this book. I am on pins and needles waiting to pick up the next book because I need more!

The Music That Ties Us is Book 2 in the Love Ties Us series…..and I loved this story. Cadence and Damien…wow, their story was hard to put down. Romance, angst, greed, friendship with sugar and spice. This story definitely took me on a roller coaster of emotions and I was all in to the very end.
Cadence is trying to make her relationship work with her current boyfriend work…but things are going sour..fast…. this picks up to Cadence and Damien meeting by chance encounter. When Cadence has a girls night out with her sister to go and see her favorite rock band, Cadence tags along. Little did she know, she meets Damien..who is the lead singer. Cadence already has a boyfriend, not expecting anything to change, but meeting Damien, something sparks. They both know nothing is to come out of a spark…but as Cadence puts the pieces together on a current relationship that is controlling…she finally is brave to move on. As Damien and Cadence get to know each other on a different level….lines can get blurred….feelings develop when they are both unsure what they want. When greed comes out to play hardball against Cadence and Damien… it hits hard. Will Cadence and Damien be able to withstand everything that is stacked against them…
Definitely read and find out!! Highly recommended story!

The Story That Ties Us is Book 1 in the Love Ties Us series and I loved this story. Love, loss, grief, pain, second chances, friendship bonds, romance, drama and redemption…this story of Jamie and Blakely was emotional. Just when you believe two twere destined to be together so much can tear them apart. Trying to pick up the pieces and put them back together again bit by bit…this story of Jamie and Blakely was just that….
Jamie and Blakely grew up together and became inseparable since Blakely was the new girl in town. Jamie and his circle of friends welcomed Blakely as one of their own. When Jamie and Blakely develop this love for each other, they feel nothing can tear them apart. When Jamie leaves for the military, he lets Blakely know he will not be coming back home. Having to pick up the pieces of a broken heart, Blakely moves on with her life one day at a time. When tragedy strikes within the friendship circle with one of their own, Jamie has to come back home to where he came from. Blakely wants nothing to do with the boy who broke her heart years ago…but Jamie has never forgotten the girl who he loves. Fighting his inner demons, Jamie tries to stay distant….but when hidden truths come out including past hurts between Jamie and Blakely……will Blakely and Jamie be able to move forward and make amends…..
This is a fantastic story of second chances and forgiveness…..I loved this story….

The Predator: Part One (The Predator Series Book 1)
I was hooked from the very beginning and I’m so ready to get started on part 2 of Chamberlain and K.C.’s story
I have read several books by Ms. May over the last few years so I knew her style and what to expect, but this book exceeded my expectations.
There were some very sweet moments and some hot moments and each one kept me wanting more of this sweet couple.
As someone who doesn’t have a good relationship with my Mom, my heart broke for K.C with each interaction with her family. I wish I had been able to find a Fiona in my life. She stepped up when everyone else failed K.C.
Chamberlain knew what he wanted to do with his life and was going to do everything possible to make it happen, didn’t expect to fall in love along the way and thankfully that didn’t derail his plans.
If you’re on the ropes about reading this book hopefully my review will help sway you.

Chamberlain is in Denver for one of his fights. Has she come to see his fight? Where has she been for the past few years? Are two questions burning into his thoughts. Over the time that has passed Katie is still the only girl that he wants in his life. Going back in time KC was sent to live with her aunt after she refused to abort the child she was carrying. KC met Beth when her water broke in the supermarket, Beth stayed with KC throughout her labour and delivery staying when her aunt and partner arrived. Since that day they have not spent a day apart.
Beth and KC took Marissa who is now nearly four to play in the kids’ pool only to find our there was a private party happening. They had to beg the manager to allow them to use the pool. Much to Katie’s dismay Chamberlain is at this party and they bump into each other. Even worse as Beth and Katie are leaving, they once again bump into Chamberlain. Marissa looks at Chamberlain and asks if he is her daddy. Katie did not foresee what this day would bring to her. KC backs down and allows Chamberlain meet Marissa and loves immediately. He says she is the perfect mixture of his grandma; his mom and his KC. KC decides to take a chance with the only man she will ever love and as a family Chamberlain, KC and Marissa leave Denver as a family. Although KC is happy being back with Chamberlain, she dearly misses Beth. Chamberlain will do anything to have KC happy so he hires Beth to be part of his staff, KC is happy that she will get to see Beth again every day. Being around KC and Chamberlain every day Beth realises she will also have to be around Scott for whom she has no time. There is a lot happening in this book and I can guarantee that if you have read part one and loved it you will also love part two. This is most definitely another 5-star read. I absolutely love this series.

The Predator: Part Two is just as good as the first book if not better. No, it’s definitely better. It did not disappoint!! It picks up where book one left off so best be reading that one first troops. I now have any questions from the first book answered. Chamberlain wants what’s his and make no mistake Katie is his. He had lost a part of himself when she was gone. OMG heartbroken, tears, longing, pain and that was just me. It will hit you in all the feels then some. But there is some laughter. As I said with the first book this book has just as many intensely complex intertwined complex threads woven into a heartbreakingly beautiful story. I absolutely love the characters that are fully realise and believable. Sexy, steamy, and sizzling. Brooke’s narrative is spot on. Girl knows how to weave a tale and I have enjoyed each and every one I have read to date. She has become one of my fav authors. I am off to read Wildfire Knockout (The Predator #3).

This is the second book in this series in which I enjoyed just as much as the first one. This is an author that I enjoy reading and their ability to pull me into the character’s world with ease. I enjoy their attention to details that make their characters pop and bring the story to life. I highly suggest reading the first book before this one to help with the enjoyment of this author and where the character’s have been before this. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A second chance romance story where the characters are connectable and engaging. They had me turning pages fast. A fast paced story that kept me turning pages to the end. You don’t want to miss what happens with Chamberlain and K.C. for sure. I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book in The Predator series. The is a second chance sport romance with lots going on. From sizzling chemistry and emotions that cant be denied to family angst, drama, secrets and lies all adding up to an explosive story.
KC is a high society girl. She lives with parents who rule her life in everyway from the choice of the career they thing she should have, to how she dresses and even who she will marry. KC has always felt not good enough for her parents and she realises she has dreams of her own she has a difficult decision to make. Does she continue to tow the line, do I job she will hate and marry a man who’s abusive or does she stand up to them and tell them that she be following their plans.
Chamberlain is an up and coming fighter. When he meets KC the chemistry between them is instant. Chamberlain could have any good he wanted but he can’t deny the attraction and pull he feels towards KC. KC knows he would never be accepted as her partner by her parents but she can’t deny the way he makes her feel. She knows if she wants him and her own life she has to leave her parents. With Chamberlain she gets the courage to do just that. But what happens when KC’s world is shattered. When the one person she thought cared for her turns out to not be the person she thought. With her parents against them and also the dangers of all the women who surround Chamberlain did they ever stand a chance?
This is a rollercoaster of a story. My heart went out to KC as it seemed she is battling with everyone in her life. This was such a great read that I can’t wait to jump into book 2 to see how this story turns out.

A continuation of Katie and Chamberlain’s story, this really is an amazing comeback tale. A knockout, if you pardon the pun, that will maybe give you faith in the underdogs again. I can’t tell too much due to spoilers. This is an amazing story that will have you feeling all the emotions and rooting for Katie, Chamberlain, and their family. Their are a few subplots that nicely come back to the main story. Oh, that ending was fabulous. The protagonist got what was coming to them. The author did a great job of tying things up. An absolute must read (though do read part one first)

BOOKBUB – The Predator Part Two (The Predator Series) by Brooke May
Broken, castaway, and forgotten K.C. Cunningham started to find out who she always wanted to be. It changed when she saw him again. Seeing Chamberlain Lawrence brought back everything from her past along with her locked away feelings for him.
If she falls again, if she is led into temptation once more by him the results will end so much worse.
Chamberlain spent endless hours, months, and then years looking for the girl who got away, only to finally find her four years later. His Katie acts like she wants nothing to do with him, but he knows better.
Chamberlain will do anything to make his dreams of a life with K.C. to come true and place her in his life and corner where she belongs once and for all.
Brooke May has been a Wyoming girl her entire life, most of it right here in Sheridan where the majority of her family resides. Growing up, she’s always had a wild imagination that came together to publish her first book, a cowboy romance inspired by her home and the rodeos she’s always loved attending.
Now, she continues to write where her imagination takes her with most books inspired by the scenery and beauty that is Sheridan, the Bighorns, and Wyoming. She’s a wife and mother of two and splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and of course, hiking, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in her favorite places in the BigHorns.
The sky isn’t the limit for her and all the stories she still has to share. There’s a little bit of everything for any romance reader; cowboys to fighters, bad boys to soldiers, werewolves to romantic comedies, and even a sweet cupid series for younger readers.

Was hooked from the start with this one. Nice short novella and gives a good perspective on what it’s like “behind the scenes” with a famous rock band. With fame comes drugs, sex, and manipulative fans. Who can you really trust? I loved having the different view points from Mav, Callum, and Becka. Though I didn’t trust Beckas intentions and had hoped something in her would change throughout the story. She seemed to only care about getting her name out there by dating any Rockstar that would take her. Callum has bad vibes from the get go and seems to “test her” by trying to get her attention as well. I really enjoyed this book and I am eager to dive into the other books in this series now.

Chamberlain is aiming for the top in his fighting career, but when his gym closes for a refurb will he find somewhere to go and carry on training. When he walks into his new gym and seeing her, he is absolutely drawn but will she give the time of day. KC’s life has been planned out since she was born, what to wear, to say and even in the end when she marries exactly what she should wear but when she meets Chamberlain he seems to give her the confidence to break free of the mould her family has built around her but with them both being from different sides of the social status can there love survive the brutal jungle of life.
As their relationship progresses and the heat and passion drive on, there are rogue elements within each camp who would rather the relationship crash but can Katie and Chamberlain push through and have their happily ever after.
This is not the first book I have read by this author, and this will not be the last, the characters are so different but work together so well and you just want to believe that they can overcome the interference in the end and let love shine through.
The story was well written, and you felt like you were part of the story going into to the first chapter, with the twists and turns and the cliff hanger at the end you will want to dive straight into the second part to see what happens in the end. Chamberlain is a complex character who at first I was a little reluctant to like but as the story went on you get to see the true person he is and I started to warm to him. Katie was so different with her guiled cage and her frustration of just wanting to be who she is was hard to read but to see her blossom with Chamberlain which is great to read.
I am now reading the second part and devouring the next chapter in this series.

This is the fifth book in the Olympic Peninsula series, and what a ride it has been! I have enjoyed each installment, so I was very excited to see this one come out. You could read this as a standalone, but I definitely recommend reading the series in order to gain the full experience that the author intended. This is an incredible book that has a quick pace. You’ll likely have a difficult time putting it down! The character development is top notch and makes you feel like you’re experiencing the story instead of being on the outside looking in. Edward and Lisette are wonderful. This was such a wonderful read! I highly recommend picking this up as well as the rest of the series. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us moving forward!

I love a story that makes me forget time and responsibilities and this short read did just that. Some people see the word novella and think it’s going to be lacking in some way but this story has everything I could ask for plenty of romance, bit of spice and lots of moments of laughter. Drew and Katie have great chemistry and completely draw you into their world. This author really knows how to hook readers from the get go and I can’t wait to read more. Their story is relatable and you can’t help but root for them along the way. Five star read and highly recommended.

Book 5 in The Olympic Peninsula series definitely does not disappoint. Edward the oldest of all the siblings and a former priest is back home again and is trying to find out what his next steps in life are going to be. He has come to the realization that a celibate lifestyle is not at all for him. Though this is not the reason he left the Catholic Church. Lisette is at a time in her life where she wants more as well. Tired of Reynard and his ways and knowing that he is growing bored with her as well, she ends things with him. Now what will Lisette do? Both Edward and Lisette have some things to figure out in their lives in order to move forward. Is it a mistake to start something so soon? This book is the fifth and last book of this series and I have loved watching all of the relationships and couples grow. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading them in order because they do have very big roles in each subsequent story. I have absolutely loved watching all of these characters develop and come to life in every book.

This was a quick and easy read that I was able to devour in one sitting.
Katie and Drew meet at a Halloween party in a comical way that sets the tone for the entire story. Once the costumes come off, these two find that they have more in common than just the instant chemistry. While they are fearful of jumping into a relationship, due to being burned in the past, these two find themselves falling quickly for each other. Add in some four-legged friends, some hockey (which the series is based on), and some more costumes…and you get a funny, steamy, learning-to-love again romance.
I have read the other books in the series, and this one focuses less on hockey and more on Katie and Drew’s relationship. The characters are relatable…and we get to see the characters from the previous books. I found myself laughing out loud at parts…and stories with doggos always pull me in. Another great story from this author!

Love Rinkside (The Playmakers Series) by G. K. Brady. This is such a fun contemporary romance with sports and dogs! What more could you want? Its the story of Drew and Katie who meet at a Halloween party. Their costumes were mascots so neither of them could see the others face but they hit it off just talking. They were not in the mood for a party so they decide to leave together. After a wild first night they left each other and that was that or so they thought. Drew couldn’t get Katie out of his mind but he didn’t really want to deal with a relationship so he takes his dog to the dog park and of all people he runs smack into Katie. He decides he better act fast and ask her out before he chickens out. After that date they are so caught up in each other that regardless of the fact neither wanted a relationship they are in one. When it begins to effect Drew’s hockey league and his work they are both exhausted and are also trying to hide their relationship from everyone. Its a ticking time bomb about to blow up. Will they work out their differences and bring their relationship to the light and give it the proper chance? Read this fun romance to find out!
