This story is absolutely amazing. Years ago, Mavis walked away from everyone she loved and possibly the love of her life leaving only a simple note. Now the past is coming crashing down around her and she doesn’t know what to decide. Josh Templeton is completing a divorce from the woman he thought he loved. However, her parting words to him implied that he was never in love with her because he was still in love with another. Austin, Josh’s twin brother sees what is about to happen and the only way to prevent it is to face it heads on. Reeling from his divorce, Josh finds the letter that was left to him by his high school love. In his mind, he is still in love with her and must find her. What he doesn’t know is that when she left she was pregnant and in love with his twin brother. As Josh sets out to find Mavis, she is nowhere near prepared for what is ahead. Who does she love is it Josh Templeton or is it his brother Austin? Mavis had always hoped that the past would stay in the past, but the past can’t stay secret forever.
This book was sooooo good! I didn’t want to put it down as I was reading about Josh, Mavis, and Austin. I didn’t know what was going to happen but I also found myself unsure of what I hoped would happen. This was well written with very well developed characters!

The first in the Stoke of Love series. Kellie moves to Las Vegas to try and get away from all that has happened, becoming a wedding planner for the stars. Harrison, her ex, is getting “married” to improve his image. Kellie unexpectedly becomes his wedding planner, but old flames start to burn. They are both given a second chance at something they never thought could be. A great romance novel, easy to read, very engaging. You’ll keep turning the pages to see what happens next.

This was a quick and cute second chance romance novel. I recommend picking it up for a stroll down lover’s lane to a happy ending!

Kellie and Harrison were high school sweethearts that ran into heartbreak. He ended up going pro-golf seemingly leaving Kellie behind to think she wasn’t The One. Kellie took her organizational skills and secured a position as a successful event planner in Las Vegas. The job comes with many surprises but one thing she wasn’t counting on was planning Harrison’s wedding. Can she keep it professional, or will their previous history be too much to overcome?

The story is a short read, but it flows so nicely. I enjoyed this sweet but still steamy book and look forward to what the rest of the series holds.

This book follows the love story of Kellie and Harrison. Kellie, now an event coordinator is informed that she will need to pull off a wedding in a short period of time and once she reads the file, she realizes that’s her ex’s wedding. Harrison, a black pro golfer is advice by his manager that he needs to make some changes to obtain more sponsors and ask him to marry Mila, a swimsuit model 10 years younger than him and also someone he has never met before. This novel has a pretty steady progress and will definitely keep you engaged. If you are looking for a feel good short novel this is definitely it. Please do yourself a favor and read this book. I will definitely be reading this book again.

I Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats TrilogyI Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy by Julie Navickas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a heartwarming and at times heartbreaking contemporary romance, with a love triangle and a second chance at love theme. Mavis Benson made a huge mistake when she had sex with her high school sweetheart’s twin brother, but she hadn’t expected to fall in love with him. Mavis definitely didn’t expect to then find herself with an unplanned pregnancy at seventeen either, but to save her boyfriend, Josh from the fallout she left town. All Josh Templeton received was a letter of apology, from Mavis, before she disappeared, however, she did confide her secret to Josh’s brother, Austin.
When Austin comes back into her life years later, she can’t help but be confronted by her past. Not only does Josh want Mavis back, but so does Austin, and for Mavis she just feels caught between the two men. One of whom she ended up with a broken heart over and the other, who helped her pick up the pieces. One thing is certain though, and that, is that secrets always have a way of coming out. This was a page turner of a read, with some wonderfully detailed characters, and I felt completely immersed in their world and engaged with them. I felt for both Mavis, and Josh and Austin, and wanted them all to have a HEA. I’m looking forward to book two in this trilogy, and definitely recommend reading this first instalment.

I Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy by Julie Navickas
I can’t say for sure how I really felt about this book but not in a bad way. It was great, I loved the concept. I can’t even fathom being in love with a twin let alone having a relationship with both! I had a hard time putting this down. Finished it quickly because I needed to know what happened. This definitely felt very realistic, or what I would envision reconnecting with someone you love(d) that deeply. Mavis left Josh ten years ago. She had a secret and didn’t want to ruin his dream but ended up ruining him anyway. It really bothered me that she left everyone like that. I do get it though. I think what bothered me was the fact that after she is reunited things seemed to move almost too fast. But I wouldn’t know how I’d feel if it were me. I NEED Austin’s book though. I truly feel like he deserves so much happiness. It’s tough being the loser in the triangle.

Never Is A Very Long Time is the first(Audio)book in The Perfect Date Series and my first book by this author. This is not at all what I was expecting, it was so much better than I thought it was going to be. This is a Contemporary Rom-Com that pulled me in from the beginning and I literally listened to the whole book in one sitting. I truly enjoyed listening to this fast paced story and the narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life and keeping your attention. This is a story about Mariah and John, she us newly divorced from Dan who is a cop (detective) who is determined to ruin her and her new dating(match making business. She used to have a show on the radio but gave it up to start a new adventure. Her ex is a real piece of work and I wanted to punch him a couple of times, he’s not a nice person. Then there’s John he works with her ex and you can tell he doesn’t much care for Dan.. She vowed not to date but what will happen when the match maker meets her own match? These are sweet together and there’s definitely attraction between them. Will she give into the attraction and give John a chance? I highly recommend listening to this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to many more books by this author.

This story was lovely and extremely enjoyable. From the moment you pick it up, you are just engulfed in the story. I sympathize with Kellie and Harrison’s story and how the impact of first love can affect you. I love Kellie’s tenacity and determination to pick herself up when all she wanted to do was fall apart. However, when Harrison shows back up all her hard work is jeopardized. Even though this book is short in length you get a fully developed and gratifying story of Harrison and Kellie’s tale. I would definitely call it a modern version of Persuasion! Pick it up and read it! I look forward to reading more from this author!

This series is one of those that just gets better with each book and I can never wait to start the next. I was pulled straight into this book with ease and became engrossed by the story I was reading. The characters are what this book is all about, their connection and their journey. I was completely pulled into their journey and wanted to see what the author was going to do with them.
The book was well written, just as I have come to expect from this author. It had a pace to it that matched the story and the characters, taking you, as the reader, along with them. I was engaged with the storyline and enjoyed what the author did with it. This was a fantastic book to an already amazing series and I can’t wait for whatever else is to come.

Another great installment of the series! We hear Kris’ story in this one and it doesn’t disappoint!

Kris and Ale’s story delivers a page-turning, action-packed, steamy romance. As always, the author gives us flawless writing and story full of tension and romance that is difficult to put down. The depth of the characters and their stories, as well as strong supporting characters, are one of my favorite writing qualities of this author. She tackles difficult themes and circumstances and enchants the reader with the drama within the pages.

I read this in just a couple of sittings and can’t wait for the next installment and upcoming Titans series from this author!

This is a series if you have not picked it up then you are missing out Every couple gets better and the story gets deeper. Kristopher and Alessia had so much against them, but enough between them that nothing could break them. This story take you deep into danger, scandal, divorce, heartbreak, secrets, and love.
Alessia was beginning her life and wanting a career, family, and soo much more. Kristopher was ending a part of his life in the messiest and most public way possible. Together theirs is a story that hurts and heals all in one.

This series has been great from beginning to end. I’m sad to see the Titans of Manhattan go, but it had to end somewhere I guess. Scandalously Yours was a rollercoaster ride with all the emotions it brought into play. Kristopher Simon is soon to be back on the market as he and his wife are going through a divorce. On a medical retreat in the Bahamas he meets Alessia Johnston. She seems like a breath of fresh air compared to what he is currently going through with his soon to be ex wife. Alessia is focused on her career, but that all goes out the window after a steamy night with Kristopher. Will they be able to find their happily ever after or is their relationship doomed before it begins?

Mason. Rhyann. This story was definitely one meant for a book! I love it when a book addresses and tells the story of things that happen in real life. While this book was difficult to read as the last one due to the assault and other things it’s a need to read story. While this series i feel like is based on the titans and them falling in love that isn’t what stuck out most to me in this story. Mason wanted justice for these girls. This book was as good as the last 2.

Scandalously Yours (Titans Of Manhattan Book 5)

Holy cow this was definitely my favorite of the series for so many reasons and I don’t know where to start.

Alessia has quite the background story, and her connection to the Titans goes back further than you would expect.   I loved how she did what she needed to do to become a Dr., but at the same time she still had time for her family.

Kristopher Simon handsome Dr., who thought he was settled in life but wasn’t.  He is learning how to live his new life and make sure his kids know how present he will always be even though his soon to be ex is the stereotypical angry soon to be ex.

I really had a hard time putting this book down, managed to finish it in the middle of the night when I couldn’t sleep.

I truly loved this book and the series.  I feel that she left the best couple for the final individual bokk for the New York Titans.   So looking forward to bow on New York and the introduction to the next group.

I had to put this book down a few times. It made my stomach hurt, my eyes tear up and heartbreak. It hit home with almost every turn of the page. I have been pregnant nine times and have 4 living children myself. While I didn’t become an addict I still struggle daily with the loss of my babies. Anton and Elsa’s story is incredible from the time it starts until the end of this particular book. They are strong and the love they have for one another is stronger. Anton is Elsa’s rock and vice versa. This book hits on infertility, surrogacy, addiction and trials and errors and bad decisions we as humans make. We are all imperfectly perfect. We are all only human. Love conquered in this book is an example of how the world could be a better place.

This 4th book of the series comes with a warning at the beginning. I love how a previous character was brought back as well. I really loved that this one included kids in the storyline as well as the lead female character doing a good deed for what she needs in return to be successful, it’s very relatable as the rest of the previous books are. I love how this author does that plus the steam in the books it’s a good balance.

This is a well written story about Kristopher and Alessia. What will happen after one steamy night together and the scandal their relationship may cause? They have such great chemistry and growth throughout the story. They pull you into the story from the start. Their story is one that is hard to put down and had me coming back for more. This is a fast paced and easy story to read. I really enjoyed reading their story and what they brought to the story. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Scandalously Yours had me reeling from every emotion possible! I expected it to be a somewhat steamy love story and I got SO much more than I bargained for. Anise Storm tore my heart out during this one!

Kristopher Simon is a Titan who had the seemingly perfect life…until he didn’t. His soon-to-be ex-wife seems to have no moral boundaries or goals other than appearing perfect in society. Kris would do anything for their two children, including indulging in his ex’s request of a legal separation prior to their divorce.

Alessia Johnston has always put her career first and everything looked to be lining up nicely for her finally. After being a surrogate to Anton and Elsa Kingston, the former being another Titan, she picks up the broken pieces of her heart that she didn’t expect to have and marches on. She was doing well until she met Kris at a medical retreat in the Bahamas. They reveal that they will be working at the same hospital and Alessia wonders how she will stop thinking about this gorgeous man. Will they refrain from acting upon their feelings for one another or will fate step in to change their lives forever, either for better or worse?

I barreled through this book in no time flat and it was an amazing read that I will not soon forget. It can be heart-wrenching at certain times, but this author knows exactly how to pull it off. Scandalously Yours will no doubt exceed your expectations!

This was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work but I will definitely be reading more. In particular, the remaining books in this trilogy. It’s always a risk taking the plunge and trying a new author but I’d never have discovered any of my favourite authors if I hadn’t taken that initial plunge. This is one time that I’m glad I gave a new author to myself a try as I really enjoyed this book. The blurb had me very intrigued and the book lived up to my hopes.
Dr Josh Templeton has never forgotten his first love Mavis Benson who disappeared from his life with only a letter saying not to contact her. When they get in touch 10 years later we get a fantastic story of love and betrayal.
Josh I adored as a character. He’s loving and sweet and I’d love a Josh in my life. Mavis I loved most of the time but there were times I really wanted to kick her butt.
This book has the added bonus of a great cast of secondary characters who add so much to the story. I’m assuming we will see a lot of more of these in the 2 remaining books in the trilogy and I really look forward to reading them.

I struggled for a couple years with infertility and know the emotional hardship that the inability of conceiving naturally can bring. The fact that Alessia helped a couple (one of the Titans and his love,) no less, is amazing. It made me fall in love with her character before even really diving into this novel. Her character is so strong, so sure yet so guarded and scared at the same time which deeply resonates with me.

Kristopher. Oh Kristopher. It has been quite some time since I have felt so deeper for a male character to the same depths that I feel for him. Having to do everything he can to appease his ex-wife to ensure he still gets to spend time and be a part of his children’s lives would have to be so very difficult. He steps up to the plate in more ways than one, and gathers the strength to open his heart again which, in my experience, is no easy feat. I love this authors writing style and ability to bring the characters to life over and over again, and I know this won’t be the last of her written work that I’ll be indulging in. Highly recommend!

I loved this story. Being an older, divorced woman, I love revenge stories. The chemistry between John and Mariah is perfect. However, her mom stole the show. Humor, romance, revenge and fun made for a good read. It needed human voices to narrate. I did find the AI read to fast and really had no inflection. Other than that small glitch, good audio book.

I Loved You Yesterday is the first book in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy and is a heart-warming Contemporary Romance that is packed with, love, drama, secrets and second chances. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely a fan already. I loved reading this fast paced story that definitely had my emotions all over the place. Secrets always have a way of coming out and sometimes we like or even understand but can love conquer all? I was pulled in from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down till I finished. Mavis and Josh were high school sweethearts but one huge secret has Mavis leaving not only town but Josh with a shattered heart. Years later he finds himself divorced and still in love with the one who left a decade ago. These characters are relatable and fully developed and make this story come to life. Can forgiveness be enough for these two? What will happen when the secrets are out? I don’t want to give away to much but I do highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait for the next book in this Trilogy.

Chasing Hope Audiobook by Dana Wayne – Review by Shelly Kittell

5 out of 5 stars

This story is such a beautiful one. Max and Skylar come across each other in this town due to Maddie, Skylar’s daughter. Maddie. She will crack you up. She is a very inquisitive 8 year old. She is precious and precocious. Mom needs a male companion, according to her (not a boyfriend or a husband). The story is both serious and funny. I found the story and the characters relatable. The small town and it’s gossip chain is just like the town I grew up in. Before you can blink, everyone knows your business. The struggles that Max and Skylar go through in trying to build their relationship is nuts but they do stick with it and come out stronger. This is a couple I want to grow up and be like. The narrator felt a little old voice wise but he did a nice job. I do wish there had been a woman doing the female parts. That would be my only suggestion. It was a wonderful audio story.

And yet, I couldn’t quite decide how I thought things might turn out.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Scandalously Yours by Anise Storm is the fifth book in the Titans of Manhattan series. Much like the other fabulous contemporary romance books in this series, Scandalously Yours takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride with many amazing ups and some heart-wrenching downs. It takes a phenomenal writer to evoke extreme emotions in the reader, and Anise Storm does this with ease.

There are a few things in this book that could be considered triggers such as: toxic relationships, blackmail, manipulation, and even using children against the other party. That being said I would still recommend this book, because it is a great read with interesting characters.

Dr. Kristopher Simon had it all, but then his world was ripped apart as he was dragged through a very harsh public divorce. In walks Alessia fresh from her residency and ready to take the world by storm. Kristopher and Alessia have a night of passion that confuses both their professional lives and their feelings. Will what was supposed to be one night turn into more, or will the thought of another scandal end the chance for romance before it begins? Find out in this final installment of the Titans of Manhattan series.

Love’s Mulligan (Stroke of Love Book 1) by CA Miconi. I loved this second chance romance. Its the story of Harrison who’s image really needs a reboot so he’s getting married. His team has found the perfect bride who happens to be famous herself, a model. When he arrives at the venue, a hotel, where the wedding is taking place he meets the event planner who happens to be his high school love. Kelly was heart broken when Harrison left her and their hometown to explore his golfing possibilities. Harrison wants to make Kelly understand he never stopped loving her and that it should be her he’s marrying. He also doesn’t want to make Kelly look bad at her job so he knows a wedding has to take place for her sake. Will Kelly try to trust him again and fill in for the bride to be or will she not risk the heartache? This book was so good and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.
