After her father’s accident, Corrie Lancaster moves back to the family farm just in time to help with the harvest. With a bumper crop of wheat waiting, the farm’s only hired hand quits, leaving Corrie with no choice but to accept the help of her old boyfriend’s older brother, Aaron Tuttle. It seems like the perfect plan until Corrie realizes ex-flame Luke isn’t over her. But even with Luke’s apologies and attempts to rekindle their romance, Corrie can’t forget his past betrayal.
Between harvesting, keeping tabs on her younger siblings, and watching her parents’ marriage crumble, Corrie leans on Aaron for emotional support. Wading through jealousy was never on Corrie’s to-do list, but as she navigates the choppy waters, she finds herself falling for Aaron’s good looks and charming wit.
Just when Corrie thinks she has everything under control, a stranger seeking shelter comes to the farm, and an old nemesis returns for revenge. As destructive forces align against her, Corrie must decide which man’s love will bring her back to life and restore her faith in herself, her family, and her purpose.

Frenemies to lovers The third book in the Meraki series and still going strong. This is Krystina’s story, the younger sister of Mia and Kally from previous books. The family drama, banter and connections are all present in this instalment. Absolutely love the way the author creates the charged atmosphere of the family dynamics. Loukas brings the emotions – his story really tugged at my heart. This can be read as a stand-alone but there are threads that run through from the previous books that will help to create the full picture. Highly recommend.

This was a good 5 star read. I was pulled right into the story. Tia meets Bridger while she is with her boss doing a photo shoot of a hockey team. She has sworn off playboys but there is something about Bridger that throws her off. Bridger is trying to change his reputation, will Tia be the one that can help him do that? Can he break down her walls?
Overall this was a good read. These two had their moments of not getting along but eventually they gave in to their chemistry. These two were perfect for each other. This can be read as a stand alone. The author did a great job with her writing and I can’t wait to read more from her. 1-click and get started today.

The second book in the Astoria Bay Thunder series is almost better than the first. I loved reading Power Play (the first book) and I was so excited to read Body Checked. A story about a hockey team, learning about the players, witnessing the family they make as a team and how they have each other’s back. It’s great to see the camaraderie and overall team spirit. Bridger McKelty is known as a play boy of sorts, out with a different girl every night, the party animal of the team. He’s gotten into some trouble and if he doesn’t shape up, he may get traded or may not play hockey ever again! Tia just lost her job but her best friend Brynn needs help for a photo shoot over the weekend, photographing the whole Astoria Bay Thunder hockey team. Will Tia’s past brush with a playboy remind her to stay away from the very sexy Bridger?

This romance story was a breath of fresh air! This book is a great clean romance and has three different love stories that you get to follow. I enjoyed all 3 of them for different reasons. I love the sweetness in this book and the characters hearts. I would have to say Leona is my favorite character in the story. Her sweet nature to want to give everyone a happy ever after even though she doesn’t have her own makes you love her even more. All the love stories will keep you wanting more! I really enjoyed this authors writing style and will be reading more from her!

This book had me sucked in from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. The slow burn was almost too slow at times but that didn’t stop me from loving it. Destiny and Nicco both have their issues but they help each other in the best ways by being exactly what the other needs. This book was emotional, funny, romantic, steamy and just all of the things. I’m excited and just can’t wait for Candi’s story as I loved her in this as well.

I loved this book! Romance, action, and some hot scenes. Ember is new to the firehouse, but has always had a crush on Sol, her mentor. Sol is known as a hero, but to his dismay, becoming a hero meant harming himself in a fire. He can no longer be a firefighter and he’s completely lost his sense of self. Read this book if you like a come back story, happily ever after, and really cool firefighting scenes!

Ugh, this book was sooooo good. I did not expect this to be as good as it was. This was nicely executed with the edgy sassy girl and the hunky player-athlete guy. In theory, the two shouldn’t work out but they do and it was beautiful. Bridger was undeniably hot and I was obsessed with Tia and her sassy little attitude. I loved how she stood her ground and made the rules and not him yet he did such a good job continuing to respect her rules even when he disagreed with them and wanted to break them. AND don’t get me started on the way he protected her from her ex cause, boyyyy am I a sucker for protective powerful men. This was a fun, slightly steamy fast-paced book in my opinion and I loved all of it.

As I loved the first book in this series I was excited to meet more of the characters and this one was Bridger and Tia’s story and it didn’t disappoint! I loved the angst that the author created between these two, they definitely had chemistry and sparks flying but it definitely wasn’t love at first sight! I really liked that Bridger wasn’t quite what I expected and I really enjoyed getting to know him in this book. I personally loved the idea of him and Tia together and I was rooting for them the whole way through. This story can easily be read as a standalone but there are crossover characters so I would recommend reading them in order – book 1 was also a great read! I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

Body Checked: A Frenemies-to-Lovers Hockey Romance (Astoria Bay Thunder #2) by CJ Cartwright
This is another great read by the author. So far both books I’ve read in the Astoria Bay Thunder Series are my favorite. If you’ve read book 1 the beginning will make sense. If you didn’t it’s okay you can always go back and read it. This is a standalone.
Bridger is the playboy of the group. Meeting Tia and having a manager that requires a background check and an NDA is hard. He likes Tia, but isn’t sure what she wants from him. Can he win her over? The quote I chose for Bridger is: “Tia. Babe. You’re safe. I will not hurt you. I’m going to fall asleep next to you and probably dream of your gorgeous p**** and then we’re going to wake up and keep working on the photoshoot. You can relax.”
Tia doesn’t expect to find herself falling for Bridger, but she does. She doesn’t think her bestie knows what she’s doing asking her to be an assistant. She doesn’t know what she’s gotten herself into. Can she let her guard down for him? The quote I chose for Tia is: “Rule #1 is the most important rule. You can’t fall in love with me. There can be absolutely no feelings. Do you understand me?”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.
Body Checked (Astoria Bay Thunder Book 2) by CJ Cartwright. This is the second book in the Astoria Bay Thunder series and I loved it. Its the story of Bridger who is a playboy hockey player. Sounds like a dream huh! When he meets Tia who is put in charge of their photo shoot. Their attraction is immediate. Tia knows Bridger’s reputation and knows that he’s nothing but a good time. His reputation is so bad that he is about to get in trouble with the team so he’s trying to calm down a bit but he can’t control his attraction to Tia. They finally agree on a wild weekend but no feelings. What Bridger doesn’t account for is he’s obsessed with Tia. He can’t get her off his mind. He even thinks maybe she is the one. When Tia’s past comes back to haunt her and even risks Bridger’s place on the team will they continue to work and be together or will they explode just like their chemistry? Be prepared to not put this book down until your are finished!

Love is Worth Fighting for (The Meraki Series Book 3) by Effie Kammenou. This is such a good frenemies romance. It’s Krystina’s story and she is beating herself up for falling in love with the boy who has been a pain in her butt for years. Loukas (Luke) has been in love with Krystina for as long as he remember. Krystina writes a blog and all she wants to do is travel the world and promote her blog and become famous on Instagram. With Luke following her all around (he’s working with her) its not turning out as fun as she thought. He’s always been right under her feet driving her crazy. As they spend more and more time together and she sees him helping her in her search for her grandfather she sees a new side of him. Will they be able to make a relationship work and will she be able to get the answers she needs about her grandfather? This is one of my favorites in the series!

This is the 4th book in a multi-author series set around Firehouse 13. I have read several of this author’s books so far and have always enjoyed them so was happy to read more of her work. I was also interested by the blurb so it was a no brainer for me to read this book. I really enjoyed Ember and Sol’s story. Sol is a retired firefighter, having sustained an injury in a fire which left him unable to continue in the role. Ember is a relatively new firefighter who had had Sol as her mentor and had always had a bit of a crush on him. As Sol slips into an alcohol fueled depression due to his enforced retirement, it’s Ember who helps him through this hard point in his life. This is a great friends to lovers romance with the added grit of seeing Sol struggle through this particularly hard time. I did find the writing a bit disjointed (is that the right term?) and it didn’t flow as well as the other books by this author but I loved the characters and the storyline so still enjoyed the book.

If you read the prior you know our main characters very well. Tia the headstrong but broken woman and Bridger our right wing man of Levi. We start with the back story as to why Tia is so broken. And why Bridger was so hell bent on making sure that the calendar worked out correctly.
Seeing their interactions with each other while book one is going on and even throughout this book were amazing. I truly loved this story. I am definitely going to continue with this author. The emotions just felt so real. You need to give this series a go.

The Mastermind is a good read but it didn’t have a big pull to draw me completely into the story. I always enjoy a brother’s best friend and millionaire love story but somehow the connection of Remi and Audri fell a bit flat for me. They were a bit cheesy in a lot of the dialogue and at times their intimacy felt forced. I did enjoy the suspense the author gave us and the twists and turns we took to get the full mystery unraveled. I recommend because it did give me the happy ending I look for when reading this style I just failed with the character connection.

The Mastermind is a little of a forbidden romance with some mystery to it. Remi is a billionaire with a past full of secrets. His best friends sister crosses paths with him again. The two have always had a spark but now as adults and after many years, they can explore that spark together. This was my first book from this author and I will definitely be reading more!

This book was FANTASTIC! This book came out of nowhere.. I picked it up because I loved the cover and the blurb sounded interesting but I couldn’t put it down. I was absorbed into the story and i was living it with the characters and that’s how you know the author did an awesome job. This story had great characters and they dealt with some major life issues but they handled it well and still loved tremendously. I liked them ALOT. I am so looking forward to more by this author because I absolutely adored it. I will definitely recommend this one to a friend!! Happy Reading!

This was my first read from this author and I loved it. This was a great 5 star read. My emotions were all over the place. Evan has decided to leave hockey and return home to finish school. He ends up meeting Callie when he takes an athletic trainer job for gymnastics. There is something different about her that pulls him in. Will Callie and Evan give into their connection? Will they get a HEA?
Overall this was a great read. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. She touches on a serious topic of mental health in sports and what the athletes deal with. I really liked these two, they were perfect for each other. This can be read as a stand alone. I look forward to reading more from this author and catching up on the series. What a different way to tell a story! I was surprised and thrilled at how the stories intertwined. The characters…well I loved them! They each have their own drama or story and I enjoyed how they figure it out and move forward. My biggest dislike was the last story because it felt a little rushed but again it was tied perfectly with the others.
I liked how creative the author is to come up with this book. This one has something for everyone. Characters of all ages and a little mystery in each one. Also it is a great title and name of a book store!

As an avid hockey fan this book is what all my dreams are made of. I mean who doesn’t want a hot hunky hockey player at their beck and call. This series is a must read if you want steamy romances with burly hockey players being brought to their knees by the only woman that can tame them.
Bridger is the playboy hockey hunk whose reputation precedes him, and not in a good way. Even possibly being labeled a liability to the team and one that could cost him the one thing he loves most in this world, playing hockey. He is put in touch with a social media manager to give him a new image even if that means making sacrifices. In walks Tia, who voluntarily is helping with a photo shoot, but she knows Bridger’s type and is not interested. However, they agree to a wild weekend as long as they both follow the rules and leave the strings unattached. Now Bridger will take Tia anyway he can get her even if it is just as friends. When Tia’s past comes into play which could ruin Bridger’s career will he fight to keep Tia in his life? Can Tia move past her past experiences to even see a future with Bridger?
When everything is on the line it is time to play all the cards and see who ends up on top. This is a frenemies to lovers romance that has all the steamy interludes you could want. I can’t wait to be introduced to the rest of the team as this series progresses and see just who turns these hockey players into putty in their hands.

I love to read firemen’s stories. This one is just what I needed to read. Sol was injured and forced to retire from his firehouse. He has a long battle to find himself. Starting with the demons within. Ember is a new firefighter, and her secret crush as well as her mentor has been forced out. Will work pull them apart? Or are they so much more? Even though there are years between them, could they possibly build friendship and more? This story is quite the rollercoaster of emotions. While the story is short, the author has packed it full of reading enjoyment. Even Though I started with book 4 in this series, I’m Going back to the beginning of the series. This story is well written and very much worth your time. I hope you enjoy this series as I am.

A story about fighting to be with the one you want and the strains that can pull you apart.
A dual-generational story. More New Adult than YA. Contemporary romance with real life influence from the COVID pandemic.
This novel lives up to the contemporary romance name with a large chunk of it having the characters face the ramifications of the Covid-19 pandemic and how their lives were impacted by the shut down in the United States. If you’re looking for a novel which will help you to escape this may not be the one for you, but while it does deal with very tense subjects the novel was very well done and kept me engaged, reading on to find out what happened with Krystina and Loukas. This novel is also very much a will they/won’t they romance.
I can’t say that I loved Krystina’s character, but I can empathize with her and the desire to protect herself from the hurt Loukas had previously caused. I did enjoy that Loukas was willing to go all in with Krystina and kept fighting to show her he cared, but I found some of the ways he mentally manipulated her to be juvenile and deceitful. Despite that feeling though I do think it was fairly realistic of the things people will do in life in order to get attention. I did like how Krystina also wanted to help those around her to be and stay happy, and was an amazing friend to non-familial side characters Egypt and Chynna. I do wish we got to see more of Loukas training and wanting to fight in the beginning of the book.
I rather enjoyed the flash back scenes to Kalliope and Panos’s courting, relationship, and their forced separation. This allowed for a more detailed depiction of the background of the grandparent’s and how that influenced Krystina and her siblings.
I had not read the other two books in the series but I found that I could follow along pretty well. The author was good about describing the impact of the things mentioned which seemed like it had occurred in the previous books. It’s also a way to get the reader on the hook and get them to want to go back and read the others.
CW: Prisoner of war description, war disfigurement, COVID forced quarantining and sickness, organized fighting and mixed martial arts (MMA).

Bridger’s life is falling apart around him. He’s screwing up his personal life, and with that is ruining his life on the Ice. Tia’s life is also falling apart around her, but that is due to the circumstances of someone she is trying to run from. When Tia is asked to help her best friend out on a photo shoot will these two find comfort in each other or will their experiences and trust issues be what keeps them apart? This book is a great read full of action.

I loved this book! The three stories were all different, it didn’t feel like you were just reading the same story three times. It had the best romance tropes and it was not cheesy! I loved how all the stories were connected and all the coincidences kept the book interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat. The alternating POV was great and the characters were fun! My favorite couple were Fiona and Price, they were just too cute for words but they also made me cry so much.

I love a hockey sports romance that is hands down a frenemies to lovers with sizzling moments, drama, banter and some laugh out loud moments. I loved Tia and Bridger’s story as you meet them in book 1 and I love that this book is all about their story. Bridger is a hard core hockey player for Astoria Bay Thunder and loves the game but also loves the ladies as well. His love interests and off the ice moments get him in some hot water and needs to be simmered down. Tia is one Brynn’s BFF and she is quite spicy and does not back down especially when she meets Bridger and their banter back and forth was entertaining to say! Both Tia and Bridger have some things from that past that try to haunt them when old news tries to come out and tear them apart. Enemies to Lovers to Frenemies kept the story flowing and I loved every moment.

This is the first book that I have read from this author, and I was not disappointed. I fell in love with this book almost immediately and wasn’t able to stop reading this book until i finished it in one sitting. This is Book 1 in the Wounded Hearts Series. While it can be read as a standalone, your experience will be better if you read this book first. I hope you enjoy this soul mates, strong female friendship, wounded, broken. A Mediterranean hero contemporary romance story. He offered her a deal… A deal she shouldn’t have taken. Now that she’s in, how does she get out? Niccolo Mancini is the last person she expected to steam into her life. she’s a struggling romance author. Him, a scorching-hot, Italian, film star who’s just skyrocketed to fame. Their agreement has us spending a lot of time together, much of it under the same roof. As the terms of the deal play out, undeniable attraction ignites. Hearts entangle. What’s a girl to do? You’ll love this tantalizing, push-and-pull relationship because everyone yearns for the tumultuous journey that leads to a happily ever after. Someone Exactly Like Me is a slow burn, friends to lovers, forced proximity romance about an off-limits celebrity and the romance author who unexpectedly steals his heart. I’m excited to see how this author continues this series. I’ll be looking forward in the future for more books to read from this author.

This is a YA novel by an amazing author. I have read her other books and I enjoy them. This was no different. The storyline is intriguing and will lock you in its grip until you read the very last word. While I believe this story is more relevant to teens and very young adults I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of her books. The details in all the twists and turns, secrets and lies, and even the romance made this a great read!!

Dayum!! Bridger is what I need in my life. A HAWT hockey player that is protective and alpha but playful. Bridger might have had some privileges growing up but that did not make his life easy. His father calls with helpful advice such as, “Play better,” after each game. Bridger has lived the pro-athlete lifestyle to a tee and now he is suffering the consequences.
Tia has been burned by the likes of Bridger before and is not interested. Except, there is like this crazy attraction that can’t be denied between Tia and Bridger. Like when you are close to them in a room you can feel and see the sparks. Tia convinces Bridger that they can be just friends after a no strings weekend. Bridger is willing to take anything he can get to be close to Tia. When Tia’s past threatens not only the budding relationship but Bridger’s standing on the team, Bridger finds out what it is like to have the support of a family to help protect Tia.
I will be a Thunder fan forever!! I may not have the tattoo like Bridger, but I am willing to get season tickets!! I love how even though each story is its own, they have concurrent timelines. The author does an amazing job at continuing the story while telling an entirely new one!! Love this series!!! Love this book!! Keep the hot hockey hunks coming!!!
