This was a good 4 star read. Jody is someone who has a hard time keeping a job. After losing her most recent job she is given an opportunity to go and help her grandmother with her store. This is where she meets Adam. There is something about Jody that pulls Adam in, he’s got some pretty big walls up due to having his heartbroken before.
Overall I really enjoyed this read. Jody and Adam were great characters and you could feel their chemistry coming off the pages. There were times that Adam could get a little standoffish and rude but as you read more of the story you will understand him better. Will Adam lower his walls and let Jody in? This book was a fun read that I enjoyed on a Sunday afternoon off. Jody and Adam are the main characters and they are great. Jody is a mess. But I liked that she had some growth during the story because it made her more likable. Adam is also a great main character and he was such a good match for Jody. I am looking forward to reading more by this author! Happy Reading.

What is my absolute favourite thing….. CHRISTMAS!! I could read Christmas romance all year round. This had me so excited just from the front cover. A great cheesy happy Christmas romance, I was laughing throughout. Holly and Will cannot stand each other when they first meet although you can just sense the seriousl chemistry scorching between them. They soon come to realise that they may just be what one another needs to move on from their struggles to have a great Christmas. Another great installment from this series 🙂
I adored this. My heart connected with Jody more than I wanted to admit. She felt like the family screw up and wasn’t sure what chance she had. It was a city girl meets a small town boy with sparks flying. He didn’t think she belonged there and she didn’t know where she belonged at all. Though, Jody found out she was way more capable than she felt. I loved this story. I adore Jody and Adam’s love even more. I was laughing, tearing up, and cheering for them. I can not recommend this more!

Loved this one! Each of these characters is unique in their thoughts and abilities. These two definitely called each other out on their issues but in a good way. Their professional and personal lives bounce and slam together like they are jumping on a trampoline.
Blake’s story in Chapter 2 just about killed me! I am surprised he has such an upbeat personality with all that he has endured. The way he met Finn and how their friendship grew was wonderful. It made me realize there are still good people in the world. I really enjoyed a lot about Blake and the way he looks at the world and definitely looks at Holly. Especially what he calls her “murder eyebrow” that he secretly loves when she brings it out to show she means business.
Holly is a wonderful character. She has demons in her past that make her a super physical therapist but struggle with the rest of her life. She has RBF and isn’t afraid to use it. I liked that she was open to a relationship with Blake which shows she can change. I also liked how she “pretended” to hate Blake’s song picks but didn’t really.
…OH I forgot to mention Finn! He impressed me from the beginning (with his love of potato chips in sandwiches) and that held until the end. His caring, kindness and thoughtfulness makes me hope he gets his own story.
Overall this is a great story! The characters are all delightful and the story easily kept me turning pages. Usually I like the lead male as a favorite of the book. This time there is a three way tie..Holly, Blake and Finn. There is a lot to like, love and enjoy in here. I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series!

I loved this so much. Holly and blake were made for eachother. A man who cant stop being out on the snow and the women to afraid to be. Holly is determined to see blake recover, but it seems maybe she is the one that needs his help This is a beautiful love story and I can not stop rereading it!! It has everything you could want: humor, love, sexy time, and some tears. It’s so good!! Side note: I need to maks that gingerbread cookie recipe!! Yum!
Who doesn’t love the idea of Christmas, Winter and Romance? I freaking love it! Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance is the fourth book in the Hartwood Holiday Romance Series by Jae Dawson. This book pretty much has this magical holiday summed up into an awesome little package. This book was so stinking adorable I couldn’t stand it. Definitely filled with a lot of laughter and a great big dose of Christmas sprinkled with a bit of spicy romance! Holly is a physical therapist who plays by the rules so to speak. She never veers off course after losing her father so tragically. Blake is the complete opposite and the dare devil of the two as a former Olympic Snowboarder Medalist. Blake is heartbreakingly diagnosed with a bone disease and the only person that is going to get him back to his former self is of course, Holly. However, there is something to be said about the Holidays that brings people closer. These two together are a match made in heaven! The chemistry between these two is off the charts! I loved the way that these two banter and how their relationship develops throughout the book. This is the fourth book in the series but can definitely be read as a standalone. I was very happy that I was able to read this book and definitely recommend this book to others! You won’t be disappointed.
After her father dies, the happy and risk-taking Holly has become a sarcastic and play-it-safe physical therapist. She stays within her comfort zone when it comes to her life and her heart. Everything that reminds her of her father, and her life before he died, is something she tucks away deep inside her and tries not to confront. When she takes on a patient while her partner takes a leave of absence, her carefully constructed life will be challenged and her walls start coming down.
Blake is a former Olympic snowboarding champion that is coming back from a series of injuries. From a bone disease that led to a partial leg amputation and an accident that has really messed up his back, he has spent plenty of time in a physical therapist’s office. When his new PT is the woman he had a run-in with on the slopes the weekend before…he is ready to walk out before the appointment even starts. Once he gets past her tough façade…he sees a kindred spirit trying to work through the hand that life has dealt them.
I found both of these characters to be relatable. Holly and I have a similar sense of humor. But watching both of these characters face their pasts in order to move on in their future was inspiring and emotional. Understanding how one person in our lives can be tied to so many memories is a reminder to make memories when you can…while knowing that making new memories is a way of healing. I enjoyed this story!
Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson is a sweet and endearing love story. This author paints a beautiful picture of what love can be if you just take a chance. Tragedy and triumph are just some of the moments in this story. Fireworks explode when Holly and Will meet as personalities clash and passionate tension presents itself. I was drawn to these characters immediately and was kept enthralled the whole way through. This story was sweet with an abundance of sass. I loved it and everything the story represented. Jae Dawson is a seriously talented author and will always been known to me for drawing the reader in and bewitching them from beginning to end. 4 stars.
Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance by Jae Dawson is part of the A Hartwood Holiday Romance series. This series can be read in any order because each is its own story. This book is set during the Christmas season featuring physical therapist Holly and former Olympian Blake. The two seem to be a natural match. I like the character Holly because though she is dealing with a loss she has a great sense of humor. Blake is competitive and had his own losses which allow the two of them to find common ground. I have enjoyed this series and this book. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I thought this book was so entertaining, the characters really had me laughing. But at the same time the author has managed to create a depth to them with real emotion behind them. You become invested in their journey, especially because of their histories. This has been a brilliant series so far and with each book it just seems to get better. I love how easy this authors writing style comes across. The story just seems to flow. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
I fell in love with this book after a few pages. Jody has some major insecurities, mostly from her lack of keeping a job long term and her family’s view of her being a screw up. When she finds out her grandmother has fallen and hurt herself she soon realizes that she will be the one to go to Clover Bay to help out at her grandmother’s bakery. Jody is not feeling very optimistic and she’s afraid she will screw it up. Adam is the one who called and told Jody and her sister Hannah about their grandmother, he was expecting Hanmah not Jody who looks to him like a high maintenance city girl. Adam has been hurt in the past by an outsider so he chooses to stick to interacting with the locals. I really enjoyed watching both of these characters grow throughout the story. They both tell themselves not to get close to each other but both find themselves enjoying spending time together while Adam helps teach Jody a few things. Will Jody find her niche working in the bakery? What will happen between these two? This is a must read to find out. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I am a person who loves Christmas galore. I literally am the person who will sing Christmas songs while cleaning the kitchen and dress an elf to deliver presents. I wasn’t always like that though. I strayed from the idea of feeling happy as hard times I have been though. Then I met the love of my life. So when I read the plot story line for this amazing book, I knew I didn’t have to just read it, I knew I was attracted to it in sense of maybe finding a bit of who I am inside the pages?
This book is around Christmas time and you have two characters that could not be any more alike. Or were they? Holy was like who I used to be. Closed off from the feeling the festivities of Christmas gave off. She was a a modern ice queen. That said she had endured devastation that truly impacted her. But deep down that heart of hers was loving and warm, and had a passion for helping people. And would never let anyone fail on her part. Overall tough she had trust issues I found quickly that she was a commendable and likable character.
Blake, he was snowboard winner in the past for the Olympics. Unfortunately a medical issues arises and he loses one his very legs. This just doesn’t depress him…it really kills his self worth he feels for himself and brings a dark cloud over him like probably a lot of us never had. Imagine the thing you loved doing most and being told you can never do that again? That your life was forever changed and no matter how you looked at it or tried, there was no going back?
On both the ends of Holly and Blake I felt for both in different ways. Not just sadness, but a urge in my heart that felt quite devastated and they needed help in their lives. Or did the doctor just write a prescription for a Christmas miracle?
When they meet and their lives collide. Maybe love and fate had the upper hand at play here? There was instant chemistry, though, neither of them wanted to accept or even consider it at the first meet. They both came from painful walks of life and had reasons not to open up to one another, but when you find a connection such as that would you pass it up?
Reading on I learned more in depth of how they were and how they got to be where they are in life. As well as myself, the two characters seemed to form a bond that was deniable. And most certainly did not give them an icy chill, but more of a warm fire on a cold winter day. They were opposites perhaps at first but maybe the whole thought of peanut butter goes with jelly is true? Different in aspects of life, but when put together, its the perfect combination!
I loved this book more than words. It made me smile a lot as well as laugh at times. The author wrote a very wonderful and happy story. I was convinced, and fell in love. At the end I was able to finish reading and smile knowing I got to visit a wonderful time of Christmas and live through the shoes of others lives that started off on a bad foot, but ended up with a blissful happy feeling. Exactly what I always seem to read when I experience anything associated to Christmas 🙂
This author always is amazing. I have one of their other works, and it was just as good and amazing. I look forward to more books in the future from this author. For they truly play the right song on my heart strings with their writing, their characters, and the feelings their books bring 🙂
I was enticed by the marine veteran meets librarian storyline and stayed for the sensitive way the author handled Nash’s PTSD and his return home. Appreciated the concept of communication, talking to each other before getting too deep in the relationship. Both main characters were well developed, and I’m a sucker for any setting that includes a library! Looking forward to reading more Bobbin Sister stories, we’ve only met two so far.. could there even be a Marine buddy spinoff!? I will stayed tuned for more stories from Debra Parmley.

Snowflakes and Holly by Jae Dawson is a wonderful story. Holly has deep rooted trauma stemming from her father’s untimely death when he was caught in an avalanche. Blake is a former Olympian who lost one of his legs due to cancer. They meet on the ski slope when Blake crashes into Holly in an attempt to save a child who veered into his path when he was snowboarding. Their first meeting wasn’t the best and wouldn’t you know, they very quickly find out they will be working together. These two had a somewhat bumpy start but find ways to crack each other’s walls. I loved this book as much as the other books in the Hartwood Falls series.
This is not a fun and light romance read, which is why I enjoyed this book so much. The two MC’s are real with problems and hardships to overcome outside of their potential romance. But that’s not to discount the push and pull to see if they will give their love another chance.
Patience is a FMC that I feel so many can relate to, feeling low in life and going through the process of a divorce. Duke is an American soldier returning home after being medically discharged and diagnosed with PTSD. These two were best friends throughout their childhood, coming to the realization that they both liked one another after graduation, but Duke enlisted with the Marines and disappeared from Patience’s life for the next 8 years.
I felt that the characters and the circumstances were very realistic, though I wanted to smack Duke upside the head for the way he disappeared and stayed gone for so long. Patience has had a lot to deal with in life, but she’s still kicking and enjoying running the bakery in her family’s local grocery store.
I absolutely loved the side characters, both Duke’s and Patience’s moms and P’s aunt, and their meddling ways.

This is a beautifully written holiday romance. The author does an amazing job with the characters, making you totally invested in their life and happiness from the beginning. You learn about the characters past which affect their present so they become more like human beings instead of a made up character.
Holly comes across as a hard women. She has a dislike for Christmas and also for people in general. Since losing her dad she has closed herself off from the world and fear rules her life. However that changes when she meets Blake.
Blake is a former Olympic snowboard winner. However his life gets turned upside down when he loses his leg due to cancer. He now has to learn to live again and find his place in the world. The attraction between Holly and Blake is instant however they both have trouble overcoming their fears. Can they overcome things together? Will Blake be able to bring Holly back to life? Will Holly be able to help and support Blake in following his dreams and returning to the slopes as a winner?
I went into this blind as the cover and title caught my attention enough. This Wasnt what i expected as I really expected Brandon to be a jerk and not care about anything and he proved me way wrong. While a quick read i really enjoyed the story from beginning to end and would love to read other stories from the side characters.

What happens when your world comes crashing to a halt when a Olympic snowboarder is that distraction.
Holly has always worked hard at her job some people may call her a workaholic, but when she has time to relax she gets a fright of her life when in crashers a pain in bum.
Blake was an Olympic Snowboarder but when a bone disease takes that life away from him, he becomes more determined to find an adventure while he still can. When he literally runs into Holly can the chemistry they feel be the final adventure or will they end up hating each other.
I loved this story from the first word to the last, the chemistry between these two characters just comes off the page and loved also the love/hate relationship was brilliant build within the story. The story was well written and created a great world around the main characters. This is not the first book I have read by this wonderful author and this will not be the last.

Snowflakes and Holly is a sweet holiday story that will make your heart melt. The plotline is sweet and innocent. There is something magical about the holidays that make your heart melt. The characters are opposites and if saying opposites attract is an understatement. This is Holly and Blake’s story. Holly plays everything safe without taking risks. Blake is a daredevil and lives on the edge. Holly is a physical therapist and Blake is an Olympic snowboarder. Blake had a disease that took his left leg and he has lost his career. Holly does everything she is supposed to do within normal limits. She takes no chances. That is until she met Blake. Will Blake take one more chance with Holly? Will Holly be brave and take a chance with Blake? I highly recommend this heartfelt story.

Oh my gosh this book needs to be a movie or even better a series. This book just evokes that wide range of emotions that you want to feel as you read those small town summer romances. I was instantly swept away with Jody’s story and her complete transformation in The Heart of Baker’s Bay. This is one of those books that will take you to the beach and make you fall in love all over again. I have always loved Danielle Jacks novels but this one has quickly become one of my absolute favorites and I am so excited to own this baby on my bookshelf to devour over and over again in the future. You won’t want to miss this one if you love books with love, small towns, growth, a lot of push and pull, and moments that will make you completely swoon. I cannot wait to see what we will get next from the mind of Ms. Jacks!

Betsy Bobbins is adorable from the word go. She is a petite, bespectacled, librarian who is on the shy side. She is the oldest of three sisters, and has taken on the parent mantle since their folks died. Betsy is dazzled by the brooding stranger that entered the library late on the night of a big storm. She is lucky that he was still in the parking lot when she tried to leave for home because she would have never made it on the flat tire she discovers.
Nash Ware, a Marine veteran, is recovering from his time in the service and his fiance walking out on him. When he enters the library his eye is drawn to the librarian at the checkout counter. Yet, he growls at her for no reason. Nash finds his protective instincts coming out when he is around Betsy. These instincts only get stronger when Betsy’s youngest sister comes to town, bringing all her drama to Betsy’s door.
Debra Parmley writes tender military stories from the perspective of veteran’s wife. The gentle, yet informed, way Debra handles PTSD and fighting through the VA system shows her dedication to honoring those that have and are serving in the US military. Debra writes characters that are relatable and human. This was a sweet read with some intrigue!

Check Out (Bobbins Sisters Series Book 1) by Debra Parmley is a contemporary military romance. The story touches on PTSD and living with it myself made it easy to relate to our male MC. He is a war vet, and he is damaged both physically and mentally, but it those wounds within that scar the most. Scars from a past that tell a harrowing tale. But his are not the only scars around town. There is a sweet little Librarian who has scars of her own from the past. This story has a little bit of everything to keep the pages turning and giving you the feels

Ahh my heart!! I LOVED this book!! This was such an ignore my surroundings and have to read it ALL type of story in one sitting for me. The Heart of Baker’s Bay was such a refreshing story and a first read for me from this author! This story swallowed me up heart and soul! This book was fantastic. It grabbed my heart from the very beginning. I could really relate to Jody and what she was experiencing by her family, although I had not been fired from many jobs like she was. Jody feels like a screw up and is scared out of wits to take on the Botanical Tearoom café when her grandmother has an injury. This was a heartwarming story and did not disappoint in any way. Danielle Jacks has done it again. Excellent.

Confessions Of A Sophomore Prankster is the 6th book in the Frat House Confessions series by Danielle Jacks. Each book can be read as a standalone. I had not read any of the previous books in the series and didn’t feel that I was missing anything. I have read other books by the author and have enjoyed them. Brandon Setter is at college to enjoy the party lifestyle and create pranks. Casey Nelson is the polar opposite. She is most likely to be found in the library. When Casey helps him evade being caught with one of his pranks, he’s drawn to her and doesn’t understand why. When her father, his football coach asks him to watch out for her it gives him the excuse to spend more time with the lovely Casey. I loved reading Setter and Casey’s story. They couldn’t be any more different if they tried. Well, they do say that opposites attract. This is a very entertaining story. Setter’s pranks alone could fill a book. Add this to their budding friendship and Setter’s family controlling his life makes for a very enjoyable read. I was pulled into the story from the very start and remained interested and entertained until the very end. A very enjoyable read.

Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson is your usual sweet small town contemporary romance. Where he loves to live life to its fullest and on the edge and she just plods along keeping to the safe zone. It is a story of opposites attract. But is this enough for a lasting romance? With a little drama and angst, humour and wittiness, it was nice to snuggle up with a hot chocolate, under a blanket with the heater on and escape from reality for a few hours.
I may never judge a book by it’s cover but I will definitely choose to read one based on it. That is one of the things that drew me to Danielle Jacks’ book, The Heart of Baker Bay. Danielle Jacks is a new to me author with a knack for catching the reader’s attention. Or at least mine, I’m still stuck on her other book’s title, Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes. What really captured my attention during this story was the characters. Each one felt realistic and authentic and really gave the story depth, especially Jody. Despite her insecurities and flaws, Jody was a “real” character, someone you see your friends or maybe even yourself in. Overall, the Heart of Baker Bay was a cute romantic read with the importance of family woven on. 4 out of 5 stars from me.

I really enjoyed stepping into Clover Bay. A very tight knit community where the only newcomers are tourists. Jody is a mess. She can’t or won’t keep a job, lives with her sister and is considered the screw up of the family. A call comes that her grandmother has fallen and needs help running her little cafe. Jody goes, with doubts galore. No one every relies on her, she can’t follow through and always drops the ball. Her grandmother believes she will do great. All she must do is take care of customers, clean up, ooohh and bake. Adam delivers packages for Clover Bay and helps Jody’s grandmother. He was the one to make the call to have a family member come help. His heart has been broken before by an outsider. He holds Jody at arms length but goes out of his way to help to make sure the café runs smoothly, including teaching Jody to bake. Jody grows up so much, learning to rely on herself and that she doesn’t have to be the family screw-up. Jody and Adam have such a great connection, but can they overcome the roadblocks that just keep popping up? I loved this read. Thank you, Danielle Jacks!!

I absolutely love a holiday romance story, even if it is in July and I love reading stories by this author! Her books never fail to entertain me and leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I loved Holly! She was such a wonderful character to read about, such a genuine and realistic character to read about. I was really invested in the characters story. The authors attention to detail means that her stories are really brought to life and I often feel like I can envisage them as a movie. This was a wonderful romance read and one that I would definitely recommend to other readers! I look forward to more from this author in the future.
