Secure Boxed Set: Chase Security Series Books 1-3 by R.L. Dunn – Review by Jenni Bishop

Secure Boxed Set (Chase Security #1-3)Secure Boxed Set by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Secure Boxed Set: Chase Security Series Books 1-3 by R.L. Dunn is a contemporary suspense boxed set that hold three amazing stories. These stories will have you biting nails and on the edge of your seat. Not to be missed.

Secure Desire is a great story that is fast paced and there is a lot happening, but it is enthralling and interesting and it certainly had me engrossed and invested. The suspense and mystery, lies and deceit are bad enough but the life of one woman had literally torn her apart. But the men who literally hold her life in their hands never want to see her go through anything like this again. There is intrigue and horror, alpha hot men and strong women, love and anger there are the monsters who think they are above everybody who will sicken you as you journey along with the wonderful characters that will melt your heart. I spent a lot of time with my heart in my throat and my jaw clenching whilst reading this book but there were times when my heart leapt with joy.

Cassie’s life was just coming together when a new assignment changed all that but what she doesn’t know is that the monsters from this assignment where the ones who changed her life six years ago. Now they have found her again her life will never be the same again. But one person who has just found her will do everything in his power to protect her.

Secure Again is another winner. It is a thrilling and enticing read that is nonstop action from the start to finish. There are so many players it is a wonder that R.L. was able to keep up with them all as it was a little daunting myself but she did a masterful job of weaving it all together to come out with a story that will have your heart pounding and your emotions on high alert. I really enjoy the Chase Group stories and love their characters. This one was a bit of a hard pill to swallow at the thought of what the evil men and women in this story were doing and I could not wait for their just deserts to be served with a side of whipped cream. It is choc-a-block full of action and danger, secrets and lies, heartache and love.

Dr. Elizabeth Reed is one strong and sassy, independent and beautiful woman but she is heartbroken. She has long suspected that things have not been right with the injuries she sees on some of her patients. When she asks questions, she doesn’t realise she is now putting herself in life threatening danger. However, when doing everything she can to save a life, she comes face to face with the one person who shattered her heart.

Martin Bailey is the CEO of Chase Security International, but all that is left behind when he has a family emergency. Whilst waiting for answers he finds himself face to face with the one person who tore his heart out and stomped on it. What he finds when he gets to the hospital will require the whole of Chase Security and then some to bring the monsters to justice.

Secure Heart – R.L. Dunn does not fail to deliver and this third book is just as enthralling as the previous two. It is nonstop thrills and action and this enticing fast paced story sees lots happening. R.L. keeps us entertained with lots of players and masters the art of giving us something that will have you on the edge of your seat and your heart pounding, the tension rising and your emotions on high. I can’t say enough about my love of the Chase Group stories and the characters. It is full of action and danger, secrets and lies, heartache and love, suspense and mystery, lies and deceit, alpha hot men and strong women. As you journey along with the wonderful characters your heart will be pumping, jaw clenching and times your heart will melt.

Holly Dupree Morrison is used to abuse but the thought of losing her daughter Sadie is unthinkable. When a stalker has his sights on Holly, she is forced to get help from Chase Security. How are the threats to Holly and Chase Security related?

Julian Dupart is the new head of the Chase Group and is trying to get his life back on track. So, when a sassy 4-year-old comes into his life she steals his heart, but he can’t face losing Sadie to the same fate that his wife died from. Whilst dealing with all this it seems that Julian and Chase Security are now in the sights of someone out to get them.

UnwrappedUnwrapped by Evelyn Sola
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this story. It was full of love and romance. The writer did such a good job writing the characters that you couldn’t help but fall in love with them.

Miranda had settled into her life living with her parents and being single since she split with her ex and she was happy with that.

That is until a chance meeting at her mother’s work Christmas party changed her life.

Nicky has stepped in to cover for his uncle at the place of business that Mona (Miranda’s mother) works. He gets off to a rocky start with his new employees and most of them don’t like him. So imagine his surprise when a woman at the Christmas party takes his eye and heart and that woman is the daughter of his employee who hates him.

Together they have obstacles to overcome. The age gap, people reactions and more importantly Miranda’s mothers reaction. Together they face all these things head on.

Is their love strong enough to overcome all these obstacles or will Miranda’s mother get her way and split them up?

Gianluca (Marini Family #1)Gianluca by Isabella Cassazza
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a story! I loved this! Couldn’t put it down! The story is enthralling! I mean a main character that’s easy to hate/love and has so much growth potential. Plus he speaks Italian? YES Please! Actually I love all these characters. Some we get to really know. Others we get a smidgen of knowledge. A few are past characters (Ice Tigers Book 1). All are intriguing, sassy and simply wonderful. Callie is a sweet character that is the complete opposite of Gianluca. That makes for some great banter and sexual tension. I don’t want to give any of this wonderful story away other than I highly recommend. Just read it!

I really can’t wait for more in this series. All the characters fill my heart with happiness. The storyline is not all rainbows and sunshine bit has some darker times too. It draws the reader in with the exciting characters and a strong, fun story.

Nick and Miranda are two worlds apart. Miranda just wants to work and be happy. No she does not like Nick at all, not ever! Yet he gets under her skin, even though she fights it. Nick is way too old for Miranda, that is all that separates them at the Christman party. How ever Mona has different ideas for her daughter, which she has already threatened Nick to STAY AWAY! Now that you are here, go ahead and start reading. No Spoilers for you!

This is my first book written by Evelyn Sola. Well I must say I enjoyed this story. The characters were funny when they were fighting their feelings and even more so, when they were in any room together. Not to mention messing with my feels as well. I can’t say enough about this fast paced story. It was interesting and I could not put it down. I am looking forward to reading more from Evelyn Sola. Job well done Evelyn Sola, well done!

I am new to Evelyn Sola but when I saw the gorgeous cover I knew I had to know what was between them. I am really glad I took the chance because this book is so adorable and perfect for the holiday season. This year is difficult for everyone and we have more time on our hands to do the simple things like read all the Holiday themed novels lol. This is a perfect addition to that list if you have one. The story is a contemporary romance with some age gap issues and opposites attract type sidelines. Miranda and Nick may have some odds stacked against them and will of course have some situations that will impede the newfound romance before it can really get off the ground. I loved these two though and was cheering for them to find that magical holiday feel and happily ever after. It was an ending I couldn’t have been more pleased with and now I look forward to seeing what else is available from Evelyn Sola!

Married to her own real life hero, Vivian met her love in Massachusetts where she was born and raised. She and her family now reside in sunny Florida and when she’s not writing she enjoys playing soccer, basketball, and football with her son.

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola is a quick, festive story that keep you entertained from start to finish. This is a nice easy read that is perfect for one of those lazy afternoons. I thought the story was quite fun and well paced. It was easy to get loaf in the pages.
I did find that there was a bit of disconnect with the characters. I would have liked to have got to know them a little bit more.
However then worked well together and had a connection between them that was obvious.
This is an overall enjoyable story that is certainly worth reading.

At Last (The Adams Brothers BOOK 1) by Mindy McKinley – Review by Colleen Noyes

At Last: Adams Brothers: Book 1At Last: Adams Brothers: Book 1 by Mindy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book surprised me, I’ll admit it. I’ve never read anything by this author and picked it up based off of the cover. Dom and Tallulah were such a cute couple, but not in the fluffy no substance kind. What I enjoyed most about this couple is that their relationship seemed very realistic. There is romance, but the parts that got me were the tender moments, the moments that they cared about each other, the simple brush of a hand, and the best was the banter. I am a woman who loves to banter and harass my man and get it back. There is romance and some HOT intimate scenes but they don’t drive the story or the book. There was substance to the words, to the story, there were surprises and even a little twist. They dealt with real world things and this book did a great job of showing how a couple thinks about those differently, but also how they find their strength in each other. The author’s writing style is very easy to read, the words just flowed, and she made you feel connected to each person even the secondary character like Amy, Mason, and Seb. If you enjoy contemporary romance that is about more than just doing it you will want to pick up this book. I already preordered the next book this morning!

Fake Fiancé: A Second Chance Office Romance is another superb read from Amy McKinley. I know I have said this before, but I really do love Ms. McKinley’s books, she never fails to draw me into her stories, getting me completely invested in her wonderful characters and the outcome of their story. Ms. McKinley is a one-click, no questions asked author for me. I don’t need to know anything about her book to know that I will love it- and this book proves that point yet again.
I loved Adeline and Stone- their chemistry was intense and palpable. But if that alone isn’t enough to entice you, the story was cleverly woven with interesting elements that had me captivated the whole way through. Add a little mysteriousness, some touching & tender moments, emotion, a little drama, lots of spice- and an extra helping of destiny- and this story became un-put-downable.
Another feather for Ms. McKinley’s cap, that’s for sure!

Thank you, Amy McKinley!

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola. When I read the “about” part of this story I knew I had to read it. This author is new to me but after this book I’ll definitely be looking for more. The author blended steamy romance with well written storyline nicely. Sometimes it can be a bit heavy handed but I didn’t feel that in the story. In the beginning it was a little slower but once I was drawn in I didn’t want it to end. I had a easy time connecting with each character and they each really made to story. It’s well written and paced nicely. I’m definitely excited to see what else this author has to offer. Four stars and highly recommended!

He’s even more drawn to this enigmatic redhead than the first time he met her.
An FBI agent specializing in uncovering stolen art, Cassie is plagued by nightmares and fear surrounding an unfathomable trauma she sustained six years earlier–the same night she originally met Ian Chase. Seeing him again stirs up the feelings she once had for him, along with ghosts from her past. The problem? She’s repressed her memories of the crisis she endured that night.

When Marty discovers his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth, is Austin’s surgeon, old feelings resurface. When they both begin to suspect Austin’s injuries are linked to the suspected prisoner abuse, danger mounts. Can the men and women of Chase Security solve the mystery before more lives are lost? Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola – Review by Jenni Bishop

UnwrappedUnwrapped by Evelyn Sola
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola is a contemporary romance story. It is a Christmas story where there is fun and attraction, but also a bit of “taboo” as there is a bit of an age gap between Nick and Miranda and he is the boss of her mother. But none of that matters when it becomes an affair of the heart. I have mixed emotions above this tale because I felt the story was missing something, I wanted more, of what I am unsure but it could be because I didn’t gel with the characters to well. I found Nick was a bitter pill to swallow most of the time and I wanted to smack him. Miranda was tiring, childish and her indecisiveness drove me insane and I wanted to shake her and well then there is Mona who was just so plain annoying. But this is just my opinion here and at a quick look there are many more reviews who found this book exciting. So, give it a go because you just never know it may just be me.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having read, ‘Want Me Always’ book one in Nolan’s ‘Heron Harbor’ series I was looking forward to being back in Heron Harbor and was not disappointed. This novel can be read happily as a standalone story but the setting and some of the characters do crossover books. In this engaging and enjoyable story, Raven Donovan is married to her job as Vice President of her company and is not looking for a relationship. Raven is then utterly blindsided and distraught when a corporate takeover leaves her suddenly unemployed. She goes to stay at her family’s beach house on Heron Harbor Island just to get away from it all and she intends to be alone with a bottle of tequila until a very tall, dark and handsome stranger arrives. Jack Baines is the heir to one of the largest private equity firms on the East Coast and has his latest conquest under his belt. However, instead of feeling great he is finding that having to fire people is taking a toll on him and this feeling outweighs the thrill of the hunt he used to enjoy. Jack heads off to the beach for some alone time only to find a half naked, beautiful women in his rental. Thanks to a raging storm Raven and Jack decide to share the house. Following a steamy night which leads to an even steamier weekend the pair discover how mush they actually have in common. That is until the revelation that it is Jack who has just taken over Raven’s company threatens to come between them before their relationship has a chance to develop.
This is a wonderfully written heartwarming romance which takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster along with the two main characters. Both Raven and Jack are realistic and relatable characters which helped me feel engaged in the story. The storyline flows well and the descriptive narrative really brings both the setting of Heron Harbor and the characters to life. The plot has plenty of drama and romance in it to keep the reader happily turning the pages and I found I was hooked from start to finish. I definitely recommend this contemporary romance and I look forward to future books set in Heron Harbor.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming contemporary romance by Amy McKinley. The second chance at love, office romance storyline was both realistic and touching and I read this book in two settings as I was completely engaged with the characters and the story from start to finish. Adeline Rossi has a dream job lined up in Italy, far from her home and she has high career aspirations. However, when she arrives in the ‘city of love’, she finds that her new boss is not very welcoming and although he is hot he’s also grumpy. Meanwhile, business tycoon Stone Crenshaw is being plagued by unsettling dreams and can not wait for the renovations on his historic hotel to come to an end. Complicating things further for Stone is the fact that he feels an instant attraction to his new hire, Adeline, who seems to be somewhat accident prone. Adeline suddenly has the role of fake fiancé added to her list of responsibilities when Stone proclaims they are engaged in order to help his business. The news of their engagement is not welcomed by everyone and when obstacles threaten to split the couple up they realise that their fake relationship might not be so fake after all. Stone then has to decide whether he will cross a professional line or risk loosing Adeline for good. This is a wonderfully written romance with two very likeable and relatable main characters in Adeline and Stone. McKinley really brings the characters to life with her descriptive narrative. The story flows well and I was fully immersed in the story, so much so I was cheering Stone and Adeline on hoping they would get their happy ever after. A great read.

When you think you have scored the best job, then you have to decide do you go with what your boss wants or not?

Adeline has just found her dream job but there is one thing she has been asked by her boss to be his “fake fiance”. This may become difficult when the line between professional and plutonic becomes blurred and will they be able to keep their feelings separate.

I love this author, the book itself is a novella but it packs a punch which feels like a full novel. The characters are well written, developed and create a great chemistry within the story. I could not put the book down and really enjoyed the character of Adeline as she was funny and would also love to see these characters in the future.

If you love a great romance novel with a bit of a twist this is a brilliant story to get your teeth into.

WOW what a rollercoaster ride…. the push and pull between these two was off the charts, chemistry out of this world.
I can’t believe how much Amy McKinley was able to put into only 158 pages. She put a jampacked story into a Novella. The character development is superb and the storyline great.
This was my first read by this Author but I’m definitely going back for more
